EHP Installation error

When I am in step 4 (Checks) of the ABAP installation phase I getthe following error:

The D drive has 3.2 TB OPEN on it. What is this error really telling me. I am on a Windows 2008 64 bit platform with oracle.

Error in prepare_jspm_queue in Ehp installer for ecc6.0

Hi,
When I am running EHPI for our ecc6.0, i getting error in prepare_jspm_queue phase, Log file says 'stack.xml contains no components for this system.' It searched the xml file and gave the error. But in my environment we are not using any java components. But I started the ehpi with both abap and java. now i would like to run abap only if possible. other wise what i can do to over come this error.
any help is appreciated.

You can start EHPi tool to upgrade ABAP as well. Please follow SAP note 1245473. Please find below extract from this note:

Dual-Stack Systems Only: Disabling the Java Stack Handling
If you have updated your ERP 6.0 system with EHP4 and later want to install
further technical usages for the ABAP stack only, you can disable the Java
stack handling. Do not use this option for any other purpose then the one
stated above.
This option is available as of SAP EHP Installer 7.00 patch level 18. To
disable the Java stack handling, start the installation program by entering
the following additional parameter for executing the STARTUP script:
-srvarg=/DSUService/javadisabled=true

Error in starting EHP installer

Hi,
I am trying to install enhancement pack 4 for ERP on my ERP QA server.
I start EHPI installer at Os level in Linux:
STARTUP jce_policy_zip=jce_policy-1_5_0.zip
then, I run DSUGui. This opens the EHP installer.
I get the screen with one tab called "monitor", the rest is empty.
When I click on the NEXT button, I get this error:
Error while creating request list - see preceeding messages.
Unable to detect an abap and/or AS Java instance of the SAP system YEQ
installed on host <server name>
I am stuck at that point. could you please let me know how to proceed

Hi,
We are experiencing the same issue when trying to upgrade our ECC 6.0 system to EHP4. When we start the EHPI application, we get a "DSU Execution Exception on <servername>" "Error while creating request list - see preceeding messages. Unable to detect an abap and/or AS Java instance of the SAP system PIC installed on host <servername>"
Has anyone gotten around this issue? Any detailed help would be greatly apreciated.

EHP Installation - SPAM_CHK_INI error

Hi
I'm at the PREP_CONFIGURATION/SPAM_CHK_INI phase in my EHP installation on my NW7.1 PI system, and have received an error stating that the SPAM version of 710/0034 is too low and it is necessary to apply the latest SPAM patch, but I cannot find anything above this version on SAP Marketplace Downloads or via Solution Manager Maintenance Optimizer.
Has anyone come across this or know of a later version of SPAM for 7.1?

That is weird, 710/0034 is the latest one. Could you provide the actual words of the error message? And are you upgrade an existing PI 7.1 to 7.11? If so, I would suggest to apply the latest kernel. I've got the same error for TP version but not SPAM when upgrading 7.0 to 7.01.

Too low SPAM version - EHP installation

Dear All,
during Configuration step in EHP installer I've got such error:
Checks after phase PREP_CONFIGURATION/SPAM_CHK_INI were negative!
Last error code set: SPAM version 26 is too low, at least version 40 is required. Apply latest SPAM patch
Installer already extracted files from download directory and there was also SPAM/SAINT 701/0042 - it was added to download basket by solution manager.
I was thinking about updating SPAM/SAINT by downloading newest version and perform the update in SPAM transaction, but option 'Import SPAM/SAINT update' for some reason is disabled. Why? What can I do to go ahead with update?

Hi gurus, I am trying to do a EHP4 upgrade using the EHPI. I am using the latest EHPI 710. The moment i enter the KEYword and Download directory it go through and then come up with an error message "701 is not supported by this tool". Please help me solve this issue.

1) You are using wrong EHPI , you need to use SAP EHPI 700 version . The EHPI 710 to upgrade SAP NW 710 system to EHP1 i.e to 711

2) You need to generate .xml file from SAP Solution Manager by seleting required ECC usagae types. SAP EHPI will ask for .xml file in future steps.

EHP installer - could not connect to JSPM

This is EHP upgrade on PI.
Using EHP installer prepare went thru fine for Abap, while during the java in the configuration phase, it updated the JSPM to the latest.
JSPM works fine if we use it in standalone mode (like ./go).
But in the EHP installer during the DETERMINE_APPLICATION phase it tries to connect to JSPM tool with the port 6250 (We have tried different port numbers and also tried the ports which are listening) and errors out saying that "connection to could not be established. Could not connect to host xxxxxx on port 6250..connection refused.
Port 6250 is not assigned to anyother application.(checked with netstat -an)
Please suggest.

i checked the port under netstat the port is allocated to some other.
So, i have changed port no. as 5xx17 at files sapjup.xml, jspm_config.txt, sapjup.xml then also no use.

EHP4 Installation: Error in Phase PREP_INPUT/KX_CPYORG

I try to execute a EHP4 installation for SAP ECC system with EhP Installer.
The programm stopps after several repeat attempts in the the phase PREP_INPUT/KX_CPYORG.
The error I get is:

EHP installer terminated during PREP_INPUT/INITPUT_PRE

I am using SAP EHP installer tool to update our XI systems (dual stacks) which are currently on SAP Netweaver 7.0 SP12.
When I run the EHPI, it fails in the PREP_INPUT/INITPUT_PRE phase with the following error:

SAPehpi broke during phase INITPUT_PRE in module PREP_INPUT / Parameter input
Error Message: Write access to directory /usr/sap/transXI denied.

"777" is a bad idea, EVERY user able to logon to the system can (by intention or by accident) delete the whole directory.
Most likely /usr/sap/transXI is an NFS mounted directory (to enable transports). In that case the permissions has to be set on the NFS server, a "chmod 777" will not work if it's NFS mounted.

My iTunes wont update, and I can't connect my new iPhone if it doesn't update. It says error when I try to update, and I cant download it because of a "Windows Installer" error...

I just not a new iPhone and in order to sync it I need the newest iTunes, but I can't update it! I tried checking for updates and then trying to downlaod it. I get this error: "Errors occured while installing the updates. If the problem persists, chose Tools > Download Only and try installing manually."
Where on earth is Tools anyway?
When I tried just reinstalling all of iTunes, I had a Windows Installer error...I don't even know what that is!

Software Update, 10.6.6 installation error!!

Hi all, hope someone can help.
I have a Mac Pro running 10.6.5. I upgraded to 10.6.5 recently and had problems with this. When using Software Update, it would download, log out and install only to get an error at the end saying it couldn't install, with no explanation of why. I did some investigation and it boiled down to Safari (one of the updates in the list to install along with 10.6.5) wasn't being replaced. I had to delete Safari from my applications folder before updating. I tried rebuilding permissions and even installed from the installers from the apple download page. but until I deleted Safari from my apps folder it would fail every time.
Since I assumed that it was a corrupt copy of safari and all other update went ok I assumed I had fixed the problem.
Now I'm trying to install the update of 10.6.6 via Software Update. and I'm getting the same problems. It downloads, reboots, installs then at the end says that it was not installed because of an error and promps me to restart.
I have downloaded the update and run it from the desktop and it goes through the install as follows:-
Installing
optimizing system
Moving files
installation failed.
It seems that it isn't able to replace existing files on my system with new ones therefore fails the install.
Has anyone got any ideas? I have repaired permissions with disk utility and tried repairing them while booting from the 10.6.3 system disc, still no joy

Worse problem here. I get the installation error then the computer attempts to reboot and I get locked at the gray background apple screen. Tried safe boot power on +SHIFT a status bar comes up and goes 3/4 away across and locks. Running permissions repair from Mac OEM disk set was no help. Had to do a time machine restore. Seems my install error is catastrophic. On the upside time machine works very well.. A bit disappointed with my Windows-esque crash

ITunes 12.1.1 installation errors and resolution (Win 7, 64 bit)

I am providing all of the installation errors I had experienced
and all of the methods I had tried until I finally came up with a solution.
Hopefully the details will help you see if your situation has similarities
which hopefully will make this post helpful in terms of a solution.
PART ONE: INSTALLATION ERRORS
I received the following installation errors
when attempting to update to 12.1.1
and later once I uninstalled and attempted to reinstall 12.1.1.
I used this link for the download:

I then tried this link:
http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1614
> itunes 12.1.1 64 bit
Again 6464 in the name.
After uninstalling the iunes,
I discovered under add/remove programs:
apple application support 32 bit
and apple support update
I deleted these and restarted the PC.
I then tried reinstalling a NEW version
from the second link above.
Opened download iTunes 6464setup.exe >
Windows installer> iTunes > welcome to itunes
> next > installation options > install > user account control
> yes > next > (error message via pop-up window):

There was a USB cable connected to the PC to charge the iPhone,
but the iPhone was not connected. I detached the USB cable from the PC in case it's relevant.
(I did not reattach the USB cable until I finally got a copy of itunes to install. You will see later in this post below.).
I then clicked Retry.
ERROR MESSAGE 2 AGAIN
I received the identical 'Apple Mobile Device Service' error as above.
I then clicked Ignore.
iTunes > Status

I received all of these errors above
when I had tried a fresh install before returning to the forum to search for answers.
When I had first tried a fresh install, I didn't get as far as the Congrats.
I only got as far as the first and second error listed above
("An error occurred during installation of assembly Microsoft VC80 CRT Type ="win32"...
AND Service 'Apple Mobile Device Service' (Apple Mobile Device Service").
Clicked on iTunes icon on desktop
ERROR MESSAGE 5
I receive the (iTunes pop-up error message window)
error 2 windows error 2 (identical to what's listed listed under 3b).
PART 2 - INSTALLATION RESOLUTION
The issue finally is resolved.
HERE IT IS!!!
1) Uninstall iTunes
2) check remaining Apple programs
(click control panel > programs > uninstall)
> check the listed Apple programs
Apple Application Support 32 bit,
Apple Mobile Device Support,
Apple Software Update,
Bonjour
3) Locate and save the correct file version of iTunes for your OS and System.
In my case, it's Win 7.
You must check for the System Type.
Computer > right click to properties > system type.
In my case its 64 bit.
The 32 bit installer is named iTunesSetup.exe,
while the 64 bit installer is named iTunes64Setup.exe.
I learned that some folks had experienced issues with
the 64 bit installer on the Apple site whether it's
because they had downloaded the 32 bit
when they needed the 64 and therefore
couldn't complete the install or in my case,
what appears to perhaps be a corrupted file that stated 6464 in the .exe file name.
This lead me to believe that finding the file with the correct file name and
correct file size to prove it authentic for that version would likely be part of
the solution if not the solution. File Hippo is one suggested means to locate the file.
I locate the iTunes download "iTunes64Setup.exe" that matched the size of the file
to a valid copy of that version of ITunes and I set it aside.
4) I then made sure that all old copies
and remnants of iTunes and Apple software
has been uninstalled by checking add/remove.
Then C: program files
and then C: program files (x86),
then running CC Cleaner,
then cleaning the registry using CC Cleaner
and then checking Tools under CC Cleaner.
***I discovered under Tools that there were remaining Apple files listed
after the uninstall of iTunes and other files had taken place under iTunes***
I visit tools under CC Cleaner and deleted the remaining Apple files
including Apple Application Support, Mobile Device Support, and Bonjour,
***but I leave the Apple Software Update folder as is, in tact***
under C: Program files (x86) and Tools of CC Cleaner and under Add/Remove.
5) I restart the computer, install the new copy of iTunes 12.1.1 (64 bit),
iTunes64Setup.exe, and it installed with zero errors.

Try the "for older video cards" version.
For general advice see Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates.
The steps in the second box are a guide to removing everything related to iTunes and then rebuilding it which is often a good starting point unless the symptoms indicate a more specific approach. Review the other boxes and the list of support documents further down the page in case one of them applies.
The further information area has direct links to the current and recent builds in case you have problems downloading, need to revert to an older version or want to try the iTunes for Windows (64-bit - for older video cards) release as a workaround for installation or performance issues, or compatibility with QuickTime or third party software.
Your library should be unaffected by these steps but there are also links to backup and recovery advice should it be needed.

Photosmart printer -all-in-one 5520 and windows 8.1 - INSTALLATION ERROR

I have a photosmart printer - model: all-in-one 5520; code number HPC57CC4 and my operating system is windows 8.1.
I had problems with the scan function and so I decided to disinstal the printer (from the Control Panel) and I even cancelled the HP folders.
Then I tried to reinstal the printer with the original CD but I got the message: INSTALLATION ERROR - DRIVER PACKAGE INSTALL GIVES THE ERROR -536870329 FOR THE PACKAGE C:\Program Files\HP\HP Photosmart 5520 series\DriverStore\Pipeline\hpvpl09.inf (that's the translation from Italian)
I have tried endless times to install with the online software from the HP assistance (hppsdr.exe, hppiw.exe, ps5520_1315-1.exe, hpscan and doctor) but I always get the above error message, the system recognizes my printer, but gives the error message few seconds after starting installing it.
If i use the printer from other PCs it's ok, I've also tried both in the wireless modality and with the USB cable but the result is the same: no installation!

Please try the following solutions:
Uninstall the software. Uninstalling the Printer Software. (In case any was partially installed).
Clean boot the computer. How to perform a clean boot in Windows.
Make sure no antivirus programs are running. Turn Windows Defender on or off.
Make sure the firewall is disabled. Disabling the computer's firewall on a Windows 8 or Windows 8.1 computer.
Re-install using the HP Printer Install Wizard for Windows.
