EHS : Creating new report parameter/ symbol for MSDS cover sheet

Hi,
I am working on the SAP EHS module.
I have a requirement in which I need to have the country name (description) on the MSDS cover sheet instaed of the country key which is presently coming in there.
As per the standard settings, the report parameters available for the country point towards the country key only (char 3) i.e T005-land1 and not T005T-landx(char 15).
I understand that I need to create a new customer report parameter in the customising which will pick the data for the coversheet country.
My problem is that I am not sure where exactly do I have to write the code for this report symbol/parameter expansion.
I am not sure about the trigger for the expansion routine.
Please guide me if anyone has worked on this kind of an issue.
I will greatly appreciate your suggestions on this one.

Get the report layouts from the business.
Try to limit the data set to a minimum in the report. Decide with the business what chars they would like to have in the variable screen.
Discuss and decide with your users what they want by default to appear in the report output. The rest of the chars could be put in Free chars and could be drilled down.
Check if users have to be restricted to some characteristic values. You would need to create authorization objects and attach these to users. Get the list of users and what chars and values they need authorizations for.
1. Try to avoid Exclusions in RKFs/selections as these degrade performance. Try to include char values instead.
2. Check if query read mode is set to H - read while navigating and expanding hier (RSRT --> properties). This way the entire dataset is not read from the database at once.
3. A lot of navigational attributes also affect performance. See if you can add it as char in the backend and read master data while loading.

Report template error when creating new report via SAP menu

Hi everybody,
we have the following error on our system:
When trying to create a new crystal report on a SAP query, using the entry "Create new report from a SAP query" in the SAP menu an error occurs: An error ocurred while generating a new report template
The error message appears after the SAP logon and the SAP query selection.
I think this error is related to the report templates of Crystal...
Is there any default template for SAP integrated queries?
We are using Crystal Report 2008 SP2 with SAP Integration Kit.

Hi Hari,
Please find below mentioned and overview on report painter and its usage.
The Report Painter is similar to the Report Writer, but is simpler to use. Most of the functions in the Report Writer are also available in the Report Painter. The Report Painter is based on the WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) principle.
Report Painter Structure:
Characteristics must be defined in your report, either as data selection criteria, report rows, or report columns. To improve processing time, you should specify all characteristics in general data selection that are not needed in the report rows or columns.
The process flow used for creating reports using report painter can be summarised as following.
Create set->Select library->Define report->Check report->Assign report to report group->Generate report->Execute report

Creating new reports

Is there a way to create new reports in Solution Manager 4.0 without doing ABAP development or customization?
The reports in SOLAR_EVAL are not enough and we will require new ones.

There is no way that you can craete a report without doing ABAP dev. or customization. How can you think this way? Solution Manager is again a Separate SAP Instance every dev./customization funtionality of your R/3 or any of your XYZ SAP server holds good for SOLMAN aswell.

Problem creating new reports in 11.1.1 - still retains prior reports POV

I have a problem creating new reports in 11.1.1 - it still retains prior reports POV. Example - I create one report - which shows "all locations". I then want to create another report, with a different POV, specific for just one location "North America". If I try to start with the original report and change the POV, the older reports default to the newest reports POV. I tried saving the grid with a different name, I tried creating a report from scratch (not using any prior reports, objects or grids) and I still get the same result. I also tried to use a new database connection - still no luck.
Any suggestions? Am I missing a critical step?
Going forward, what is the best approach to take to create several reports, with differing POVs? (example, the period and fiscal year may differ, or a location may differ). I want the reports to run, without using one report and chagning the POV each time.

ARD 3.3.2 does not create new reports

Hi all!
I am running ARD 3.3.2 on my MacBook Pro with Mac OS X 10.6.2
All my clients are on ARD client 3.3.2 as well but run Mac OS X 10.4.11 or 10.5.8.
Since I've updated to 10.6 and ARD 3.3.2 i am not able to create new reports (with rebuild with new data check box activated) on any client system. ARD starts the task and stays in the status "waiting for report data" (which is translated from its German version and might be called a little different in English).
And there it stays--- for a very long time until I get an task failed message.
All clients are in the same network segment as I am. I am able to observe and control all machines as well as copy and install software onto them. Clients have no firewall activated.
All clients have one Admin User installed , which is allowed to make full use of ARD functions. When adding the clients to my ARD Computer list I used this Admin User credentials.
Does the new ARD doesn't support older OSses any more??
Any ideas , how am I able to solve this and get reports going again???

I manage 400+ computers at a University using ARD 3.3.2 with Client 3.3.2. I can not generate reports and haven't been able ever since Snow Leopard came out. We also have a developer account and there is no upgrade or version 4 in the works. Perhaps Apple's focus on giving iChat remote access has made them forget about Apple Remote Desktop, which is a shame because it's such a wonderful product.
We've been looking at Net School Support [http://www.netsupportschool.com/audio.asp] It's not as robust, but I can't continue spending money on a product/company that doesn't care about it's customer's problems. In general Apple's enterprise software efforts seem to be losing functionality instead of improving. OS 9 ARD had audio chat features, non-freezing screen lock and of course, working report generation.

HT204053 I have one apple ID that my entire family has been using. How do I create new apple ID's for each of us and move the appropriate content to each new ID from the original apple ID now that we all have our own devices?

I have been using one apple ID for 4 family members. Up until now it hasn't been a problem but now that we all have our own devices how do I create new apple ID's for each of us and them move the approprioate things from the original apple ID account to the new ones for each of us?

Does this error occur if you use any of the example programs that come shipped with LabVIEW? I would try opening one of the examples that write data to Word and see if those give you an error. Also, have you tried just putting down a New Report.VI and change the report type to Word? If this simple vi (that's all you need to open Word) breaks, I would check to see if there are any instances of Word still open. Check the task manager to see if any word processes are still open. There should not be a problem accessing Word 2003 from LabVIEW 7.0. If neither of these solutions work, please give some more detail about your application and we can research further. Thanks!

BAM 11g - creating new report - More options not active

I am creating new reports in BAM 11g. 11.1.1.3.0 Build 8553
I can select the Data Object and Data Fields, but.... When I select any of the More options.... such as Create a filter or Create a calculated fied etc... I get the View Prompts screen and I cannot get out of it.
The Properties object works, but as soon as I go back to the Data Objects - I am on the View prompts screen with several unlabelled tabs... and I can only OK, Cancel or Save.
If I re-edit the reprt - I go straight to this View Prompts Screen... and can do nothing on the data objects.
Rebooting makes no difference....
Has anyone else seen this.
I am using JDK 1.6.0_14... which i picked up from a post in the forum.... but this has made no difference.

There must have been a typo or something when I reset the Java version.... re applying the copy of JDK 1.6.0_14 and restarting, Fixed the problem.

UCCX creating new reports

I am involved in a UCCX implemetation which obviously includes CUIC, i need to create a couple of new reports for my customer.
I have learned quit quickly that this is completey different to CUIC UCCE Premium, and i believe that things sucah as report definitions do not exisit! Can someone advise how I go about creating a new report - how do I create what would have been the report definition in UCCE Premium.
I have downloaded all the documentation, however if someone can give me a quick symopsis of what to do and how this differs from UCCE Premium, I would be grateful.

You must set the password for the “Historical Reporting User” it's in appadmin Tools/Password Management
If this a HA system you must login to both servers and set the password, it’s not automatically propagated across.
Then in your data source set the database user id to: uccxhruser with the password you set.
You must then work out the instance name. This is the host name converted to lower case with _uccx on the end. To check your host name login to the cli on your CCX publisher and enter: show status.
If your host name is CCX9Lab then your instance would be ccx9lab_uccx

Create new report

Hi everybody, I need to create a new report with a format very similar to "Inventory(Stock) in Warehouse Report".
I created a query in Query Generator that recovers the data that I need.
However, I need for the report to insert a title with the name of each warehouse ( just like the one in Inventory(Stock) in Warehouse Report) and include the totals for each warehouse and the Grand total ( also like Inventory(Stock) in Warehouse Report).
Any ideas in how can I achieve this?

This is a very straight forward requirement. so please give me code
First you have to get the corresponding plant from table T320 for the given warehouse numbers in the selection screen.
1. Get the sum of order qty of sales orders from the sales order tables for the given warehouse(Plant), distribution channel and the give date range.
2. Get the confirmed transfer orders qty from the TO master table where TO confirmation date is in the given date range and WH number.
3. Get the total PGIed qty from the delivery master table where PGI'ed date in the given date range, shipping point is in the corresponding plant of the WH and for the given distribution channel.
As you are going to use the major tables please try to write the select commands effectively to avoid further performance issues.

Analyzer error creating new reports

Has anyone seen this error message? Error while executing query and retrieving data.; nested exception is com.hyperion.ap.APException:[1033] Native: -1073741819 Operating system exception thrown I started getting this today when I tried to create any new report to any database connection (old and new DB connections) Old reports still work, but I can't create anything new. Nothing has changed that I am aware of. I tried restarting the service, rebooting the server, uninstalling and reinstalling Java client. Nothing has helped. Nothing in the Hyperion knowledge base. I plan to open a trouble ticket with Support but I have a ticket already opened with them for another issue with Analyzer for about a month now.

Gary,I have seen this issue. As far as I remember it did occur whilecreating the reports. I tried getting this solved but eventuallyhad to reinstall. Are you using desktop client? Are you able tocreate reports from the webclient? Hyperion told me that it wasrelated to some patches that could have been pushed onto themachine but i never believed that.Will try to dig back and see what I got for this.

Impossible to create new reports under v3.0.04

Hi,
I have recently installed sqldeveloper v3.0.04 and created some user defined reports. But when I closed the application and reopened it in order to add some new reports I noticed that I couldn't add them under the directory I had previously created, the only choices I have when I left click on my directories are : copy/export (yesterday I had : copy/paste/add directory/*add report*/import/export).
Is it a known bug or I'm am missing something ?

Can you check that the coding correction from the bottom of the SAP note 1285777 has been applied in your system as it can cause this dump.
