EJB Adapter Service -- Creating SDO -- 11g

I am trying to achieve EJB adapter as a service to my SOA composite.
I have been referring to the document at [http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E12839_01/integration.1111/e10224/sca_sdo_ejb.htm#CCGIHAAE]
When creating a service interface for a method in my bean, the WSDL and XSD files are created, but the Service Data Objects- SDO are not created.
The method's signature is as follows -
public String processMessage(oracle.sdp.messaging.Message msg){...}
on right click and "create service interface" the wsdl and xsd are generated, but the SDO objects for the Parameter type oracle.sdp.messaging.Message are not generated.
Any pointers to this is much appreciated.
Thanks,
Srini.

I read your blog post and it helped a lot!
But I encountered so many issues and bugs in the management of SDO objects that I gave up :
- starting with the code generation (which is quite buggy overall, and doesn't work at all in many cases)
- then once you have deployed your EJBs with an SDO interface, you face many bugs/issues with the EJB adapter in the BPEL module
So I ended up calling all my external components that are not SOAP webservices with a mediator component and a java callout class.
This is sad, because I liked the EJB adapter concept which I think was a more elegant solution to my problems.

  • OSB business service on jdev 11g generated db adapter

    Is it still possible to generate the db-adapter in jdev and import the resources in osb and create a business service with jca transport based on this wsdl?
    the documentation is only describing how to it should work based on a 10.1.3 generated db adapter.
    In the 11g the resources of the db-adapter are different (external jca property file etc).
    So..whats the way to go for this when using the 11g stack ?

    So..whats the way to go for this when using the 11g stack ?Current version of OSB (OSB 10.3.1) does not support 11g adapter stack. The next release of OSB will support 11g Adapters.

  • Jdeveloper IDE bug with Soa 11g PS1 ejb adapter with uri and jndiName

    Hi,
    When you use the EJB adapter as a reference in Soa suite 11g PS1 and you provide the jndiname then jdev put its wrong in the binding.ejb and use the uri attribute instead of jndiName
    <reference name="EmployeeReferenceService"
    ui:wsdlLocation="HrEmployeeEJBBeanWS.wsdl">
    <interface.wsdl interface="/nl/whitehorses/hr/ejb/services/#wsdl.interface(HrEmployeeEJBBeanWS)"/>
    <binding.ejb javaInterface="nl.whitehorses.hr.ejb.services.HrEmployeeEJB"
    jarLocation="ejbSdoHr.jar"
    uri="AdfEjbHr-model-HrEmployeeEJB#nl.whitehorses.hr.ejb.services.HrEmployeeEJB"/>
    </reference>
    This is the right one
    <reference name="EmployeeReferenceService"
    ui:wsdlLocation="HrEmployeeEJBBeanWS.wsdl">
    <interface.wsdl interface="/nl/whitehorses/hr/ejb/services/#wsdl.interface(HrEmployeeEJBBeanWS)"/>
    <binding.ejb javaInterface="nl.whitehorses.hr.ejb.services.HrEmployeeEJB"
    jarLocation="ejbSdoHr.jar"
    jndiName="AdfEjbHr-model-HrEmployeeEJB#nl.whitehorses.hr.ejb.services.HrEmployeeEJB"/>
    </reference>
    if you dont correct this in the composite xml you got errors in Soa suite and the ejb adapter does not work

  • How to create secure EJB web service in Oc4J using JDeveloper?

    We are going to develop a EJB web service running in OC4J using JDeveloper 10.1.3.3.
    By using the JDeveloper feature, we can simply create the web service by using the "Web Service Endpoint Interface" in the session bean.
    However, unlike the web service created from Java class, I can't find any option to change the security setting of this web service. We tried adding annotation like @DenyAll for testing, but there has no effect and related method can still be called without WS-Security header.
    Now, we can only change the security setting via the web console after deployment (select the web service, then enable security in administration page, and then edit security configuration to change the inbound policies for authentication). It works in our local machine, but it may not work in the production environment as we cannot touch the em console.
    May I know if there has any way to include the security setting inside the project?
    Thanks in advance.

    If I am not wrong, you might be probably talking about this :
    http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B40099_02/books/EAI2/EAI2_WebServices33.html#wp179056
    In order to implement the SOAP header, you would have to :
    (1) Define SOAP header in the wsdl of the service.
    (2) Add a new soap binding in the wsdl, which contains soap header and soap body.
    I think, this should get you going..

  • EJB adapter errors are not catched by the composite fault handler

    Hi,
    I got a serious problem in soa suite 11g ps3 that ejb adapter failures are not catched by the soa suite fault framework.
    for example when I do a persist of an entity on a EJB session bean and I dont provide all required fields I get a rollback error when the BPEL component is finished.

    The transaction was rolled back. The work performed for bpel instance "142089" was rolled back, but the audit trail has been saved for this instance

    what I did is to set idemponent = false on the partnerlink but then the invoke fails instead of the bpel ( same error ) and still no compensate or catch in bpel.
    Added the fault policies to the composite and rethrowed the error to BPEL. Still no luck.
    But then replaced the EJB adapter with the db adapter which does the same insert as the EJB and I got a nice bpelx:bindingFault which I can catch and handle.
    thanks

  • Read from a config file in File Adapter in SOA Suite 11g

    I want to read from a config file in order to determine whether to archive or delete the file after processing using file adapter in SOA Suite 11g. How do i do that.

    only part i replied on was the part of how to read a file
    but i think in your case you could do the next
    use the sync file adapter to read in the file during your process
    based on this content you set a variable "myOutputDirectory"
    then create a file adapter (write) which will store the file on file system

    and use that (jca.file.Directory) property to store the file either on the archive location or the delete location

  • Problem generating stubs for Java EJB web service deployed in OAS

    I created an EJB web service and I've successfully deployed it in my Oracle App Server. Some of the methods work fine but others produce the ff error:
    org.apache.soap.SOAPException - java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: No Serializer found to serialize [classname] using encoding style [encoding]It seems that the objects specified as parameters in the web service methods exposed are the only ones that had stubs generated for them. Other objects I use, which are usually wrapped inside a Vector, did not have generated stubs.
    Example:
         public String loginUser(UserDTO userDTO) throws RemoteException, NamingException, SQLException;
    public String addItems (Vector vecItems) throws RemoteException, NamingException, SQLException; // where vecItems is a collection of ItemDTO objects     In this scenario, stubs were generated for the UserDTO class, but not for the ItemDTO class. In effect, calling the addItems method resulted to the exception I mentioned above.
    I did a workaround wherein I declared a dummy method which accepted all the types of objects I needed as parameters so all the necessary stubs can be generated, but this fix doesn't feel like it's the proper solution to my problem.
    If anyone can help me, it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

  • Start BI Services as Windows Service in OBIEE 11g

    Hello All,
    We need to Automate the Start BI Services in OBIEE 11g.
    The options that were tried from my side to achieve the same are as follows:
    1) Creating Command files for Admin_Server and BI_Server
    2) Creating Utility files installSvc_Admin.cmd and installSvc_BIServer.cmd.
    3) Created the Boot file.
    4) Ran the Command files.
    Still i am unable to automate the Start BI Services. I have to manually Start the BI Services whenever i login to the RDC.
    Pls help.
    Thanks.

    Ashwinni,
    The batch files should be able to solve your problem.
    Can you post your batch file code here for the start up script? I'll see if I can help you troubleshoot.

  • Call external service in a Application service created from ES

    Hi Experts
    I have the follow situation:
    I've modeled a new service in Enterprise Service Builder. This service i'll implement in caf application. In the method create by application i'll call one method of external service.
    I imported this modeled service in Create Web Service Provider option in external package, select the Enterprise Service Repository source option and choice the respective Service Interface.
    In this moment the caf created a new application service, with methods of modeled service. That's all right.
    Now i import a external service of esworkplace. All the step are ok. But the problem is going to next step.
    I need to call this imported service in the method of application service. I know 3 way to do this:
    1. Mapping the external service with this application service. In this case i have a problem - the method of external service is expose as web service, and i don't want this. Just the method of modeled service must be expose.
    2. Create another application service, map the external service with this application service, and create a depency between this application service and the application service created by modeled service. I think this work fine and resolve the problem of expose the method of external service. However i think this isn't a good way to do.
    3. Instantiate the service class of exernal service. From this class i can call the method of external service in application service. But now i have another problem. If i see the implementation of this class, it have a static block which call a URL class, and pass as parameter a wsdl file located in one directory of my computer like
    url = new java.net.URL("file:/D:/SAP7110Workspace.jdi/LocalDevelopment/CRVP/demo.sap.com//ejbmodule/
    _comp/tmp/0/EJB/src/META-INF/xml/ext/rootwsdl_WorkCentreSimpleByPlantQueryResponse_InService.wsdl");
    when execute the application in the server it don't find this file and i give one error.
    I think the best way to do is the 3° way. But why did the caf generate the URL with My computer directory instead of in directory of application? There are some solution to this problem?
    I've change this line manualy, but all the time when i generate the project, i need change this code again.
    Regards
    Marcos

    Hi,
    You may consume external service via JNDI
    Context context = new InitialContext();
    <JNDI OBJECT> local = (<CAST JNDI OBJECT>)context.lookup("<JNDI OBJECT>");
    //Call the method
    If you are using CE 7.11, go to NWA -> Problem Management -> JNDI browser  > ..... -> ObjectName for <JNDI OBJECT>

    That snippet is from an Oracle Apps Adapter service, but there's similar code in the WSDL for database adapter services as well. The "eis/Apps/VIS03_LNAX30B" value is the name of the connection factory set up in my OC4J instance administration, specifying the database/EBS instance to use. Manually changing that value at design-time and redeploy works to connect to a different instance.
    Is there any way to make that "jca:address location" attribute be a value that I pass into the adapter service, instead of hardcoding it into the WSDL?
    Thanks,

    I have tried to assign values to the OutBoundDBHeaderType to try invoke another JNDI, but does not seem to work.
    The setup that I used was
    Have 2 databases A and B.
    Have the same procedure setup in both the databases.
    Have 2 JNDIs setup to point to the databases A and B named as eis/DB/A and eis/DB/B.
    Initially created a DB Adapter pointing to JNDI - A.
    Created a variable of the OutboundDBHeaderType message type.
    Tried to assign the dataSourceName as eis/DB/B in the BPEL process.
    This doe not seem to change the JNDI, the calls continue going to A.

  • Consuming EJB Web Service in WD ABAP component

    Hi,
    I have a scenario where I have Portal KM access methods exposed as EJB Web Service. This web service is deployed on J2EE engine.
    And I have to consume this web service from my WD ABAP component controller.
    Any idea how this can be achieved?
    Thanks and regards,
    Amey

    This doesn't really have anything to do with Web Dynpro.  Normal ABAP functionality is used for the consumption of a web service.  In ABAP we create a proxy class based off the WSDL of the web service.  This proxy class can then be called from within Web Dynpro like any other ABAP class.  You can read about consuming a web service in the online help:

    Hi, Is there any tnslsnr process running on the node. To understand the problem better, enable the debug trace for the .lsnr resource. You can enable trace by executing the following command as root.
    crsctl debug log res "ora.rac1.LISTENER_RAC1.lsnr:5"
    crsctl debug log crs "CRSRTI:1,CRSCOMM:2,OCRSRV:4"
    Try to stop the listener.
    Examine the log files under CRS_HOME/log/$HOST/crsd/* and CRS_HOME/log/$HOST/racg/*

  • How to add image in ejb web service

    Hello Community,
    I am writing web service to create a PDF file using itext API. In PDF file i want to add an image.
    Can someone please tell that , how can i add image(jpeg, png , etc.) to an ejb web service?
    Thanks in advance
    Regards,
    Dishant Chawla

    Hi,
    Please check the below code which i used to add image to the header using iText . Similarly you can add image directly to the document also as a element.
    Adding image as Header:
    httpServletRequest = request.getServletRequest();
    domainURL=httpServletRequest.getScheme()+"://"+httpServletRequest.getServerName();
    imgLogo=domainURL+request.getWebResourcePath()+"/images/XXXX.jpg";
    image =Image.getInstance(imgLogo);
    image.scalePercent(22);// As per you need
    chunk = new Chunk(image, 0, -20);
    HeaderFooter header_pdf = new HeaderFooter(new Phrase(chunk), false); // here i have added image as header
    header_pdf.disableBorderSide(0);
    header_pdf.setAlignment(Element.ALIGN_CENTER);
    header_pdf.setBorder(0);
    document.setHeader(header_pdf);
    (or)
    Adding Image a Element:
    httpServletRequest = request.getServletRequest();
    domainURL=httpServletRequest.getScheme()+"://"+httpServletRequest.getServerName();
    imgLogo=domainURL+request.getWebResourcePath()+"/images/XXXX.jpg";
    image =Image.getInstance(imgLogo);
    image.scalePercent(22);
    document.add(image);

  • How to read Configuration Adapter Service?

    Hi all
    Am using NWDS 7.0 SP 15.
    I have uploaded a file (text file with props) in the configuration adaper. I want to read this file in my webdynpro (or any java) application. How can I do it?
    I have gone through sdn and I did find some posts which related to reading Configuration on J2EE. I am not referring here to the normal properties files on WebDynpro which are shown up on the Configuration Adapter. The key value pairs in those can be edited, but as such it is not possible to add a new key value pair from the Visual Adminsitrator.
    To workaround, I created/uploaded a file directly in the Configuration Adapter under my application component. Now I want the APIs to browse through the tree. I know there is a J2EE service by name Configuration Service which is used by SAP applications, how may I use it? Thank you.
    The post "Problem with Configuration Adapter Service a very old one deals with the same, I have put my concern there about the availability of the API.
    I have repeated this question from the WDJ forum, please excuse. I did not find solutions thus far.
    Regards
    LNV

    Hi LNV
    Try the following development components to locate interface Configuration and all other API classes: SAP-JEE/com.sap.engine.client.lib or SAP-JEE/com.sap.engine.deploy.online.
    Approach mentioned in Problem with Configuration Adapter Service shall work.. See my comment there too..
