ELearning 2.5 - where is Audition CS6?

My company just purchased a few licenses of the eLearning Suite 2.5. The web page (http://www.adobe.com/products/elearningsuite.html)  says that it includes Audition 6, but only Audition 5.5 was in the download. Where do we go to download Audition CS6?

You did get Flash and Photoshop CS6?
I was wondering much along the same question. eLearning Suite 2.5 originally included just the CS 5.5 versions of the products.
The page you point to indicates some of those products have been upgraded to CS6.
I've asked Adobe for clarification...
I think you've just happened to license eLS 2.5 while it is 'in flux'. I'm not sure it's a good idea to change the contents of an existing suite. They should leave eLS 2.5 with the CS 5.5 products...and just release eLS 3 when all the products have been updated (i.e. Captivate).
You MIGHT be able to do this:
deactivate eLS 2.5 and remove it
Install Audition CS6 trial version
install eLS 2.5 again
That *might* result in the installer seeing the newest version of Audition and tying it to the overall suite, but that's complete theory.
Otherwise, better to followup with Adobe Sales and see what they say... My guess: wait a bit until eLS 3 is released (no idea when that may be).
Wish  that was more helpful!

  • Where is Sound Remover in my Audition CS6

Having recently downloaded Audition from Creative Cloud, I was looking on Adobe TV at some of the new features including "Sound Remover." When I wanted to try out the effect, neither "Learn Sound Model" or "Sound Remover" showed in the Noise Reduction effects. The only options showing are the familiar ones from CS5.5. Can anyone help?

Having called Adobe Support on Friday I was told that there is no difference between CS6 and CC, so hence my confusion. While talking to the member of the support team I did get the feeling that he wasn't very sure about things and I wasn't totally convinced that he knew what he was talking about.
Like Bob says, pretty obviously he didn't, and probably still doesn't. Audition CS6 is a finished, finalised product and it's available as a part of the CC package deal. The next version of Audition - with a name that looks initially confusing - is available on June 17th.
I think I know why it's like that (although Durin will have to confirm or refute this). The new Audition isn't intended to be a 'version' release as such, which can't, because of the ridiculous Sarbanes/Oxley legislation, be enhanced. Instead, Adobe haven't 'sold' it as a version but licenced it as a piece of software that becomes progressively enhanced - updates are allowable under this model. Because it isn't sold, it's not affected in the same way under the legislation.
So what I suspect we have here is a fancy piece of Adobe footwork (which they know full well is hacking off a lot of people) to get around a piece of legislation that was introduced as a knee-jerk reaction to Enron, etc. As a result of the speed of introduction, the implications of it weren't really thought through, hence the easy loophole in it. What Adobe (and Micro$oft, only more subtly) have realised as a consequence is that they have what they think is a win-win scenario; circumventing the legislation, and keeping a continuous revenue stream.
So it's called Audition CC (Continuous Confusion?). If you want to know where you're up to with it version-wise, I suspect that the build numbers will be all there is to go on. But hey, the shareholders will be happy, so that's alright then...
I should add though that this is only a comment on the commercial situation. What you are going to get with the new version is a damn good product - which in some ways is likely to make the commercial aspects of this even more frustrating for a lot of people. Ho Hum.

  • Windows 8 freezes while I try to watch online Flash content and running Audition CS6

I recently bought a online introduction course to Auditon CS6 on Vimeo.com
While I have a setup where I put the lecture on one screen and the program on the other I like to follow tutorials and learn how to use software.
However this proves to be impossible for me in Audition, because for some reason my computer gets completely unresponsive after a little while of watching the lectures with Audition running.
It never happens when Audition hasn't been launched, and I'm kind of suspecting a driver conflict, but I don't have a fancy audio card in my computer, (just built in Realtek,) and find it a bit
odd that it wouldn't be supported as it is some of the most common audio setups around. As far as I know the system runs stable with Audition running and no Flash content started as well.
This has happened for the last couple of months and I've updated Flash and drivers as they roll out. Audition CS6 is downloaded with the Creative Cloud application Manager.
Here is some general info on my computer:
OS: Windows 8 Pro 64 bit.
Motherboard: eVGA x58 Classified (Tried with stock BIOS and also updated to new BIOS)
    Audio Card: Realtek (on motherboard)
Graphics: Nvidia Geforce GTX 560 Ti
The system storage device is a SSD (Firmware recently updated due to BSODs apearing, and seems to be resolved.)
I do believe that this might not be a Audition issue, but rather a issue with Flash. However Audition + Flash reproduces this problem faster than anything else I can remember this happening while
using other 3rd party software while playing Flash. (Not exactly the type of software.) I have a suspicion that it is something that occurs if Flash and other programs is paging/wiring/reading the SSD...
I can't remember this happening with Photoshop or other Adobe software, and so I'm also curious to how different Audition runs "under the hood" so to speak. What is it constantly checking
that could lead to a hardware conflict.

A month ago I uninstalled AVG Internet security from my computer making it a lot less potent to BSODs in general, (can't reacall having any.) So today I thought I'd try to learn some more Audition. I could Sit with it for a good while just playing around with recordings and settings and my system didn't react weirdly at all. So the next step was of course to try and load some of the Udemy lectures I had waiting.
As the video was buffering I turned away from the computer for a while, but when I came back it had completely froze up again... I don't think I've ever had a BSOD in this context either, instead of going into BSOD the computer just stops responding completely.
(I'm using the latest version of Flash, tried with both Firefox and Chrome.)
I'm thinking this is a very niche bug and I can't seem to se that it can be anything but a conflict with Flash. Weither it's a memory leek or what ever it is.
I can use Audition fine on my computer it seems, as long as I never start a browser in risk of loading a Flash application, (which would be fine if I was avid, but I need some lectures to get started.)
Nothing really seems to be overloaded (RAM/CPU) before the freeze ocurs either.
I  don't really know where or how to adress this to the Flash Player forum/community, (or if there is one.)
    Thanks.

  • Audition CS6 crashes on opening. Cloud

Audition CS6 crashes on opening every time. I have not been able to get it to work once.
I have downloaded and installed the patch. Still not working
I have tried to open while holding shift. Still not working
I have renamed the folder in the roaming as 5.0BACKUP. Still not working
I have created and replaced the Debug Database.txt. Still not working
I have uninstalled and reinstalled. Still not working
I have unistalled quicktime. Still not working.
    Any other ideas?

Thanks.  When you say "Within 10 seconds of launching..." does Audition actually get to a point where it displays the application window and panels?  Does it show the "Adobe Audition" launch image?  If so, it should update a line of text in that image as it loads various components it uses and if it crashes while this image is still visible, the last displayed text before it crashes would be very helpful.

  • Help With Audition CS6: Adding windows sound to accompany USB Mic

    Hey Guys,
I have a Blue Yeti USB microphone that I wil be using to create a podcast with a friend over skype. When I am setting up audition cs6 I cannot seem to get the USB mic AND skype audio to be recording at the same time. Is this because I do not have a dedicated sound card, or is there something else I am missing?
On a side note, when I set the multitrack to the stereo mix, it says that there are two different types of audio signals and wont record.
    Thanks for your help!

I have been using Audition on this computer for the past few months now. The computer itself is an Alienware laptop, with the most optimal specifications we could get. So right away ram, disk space, disk writing speed, processor, and sound hardware should not be an issue at all.
I take it that you are using the internal sound hardware, then. If this is the case, then you could easily have problems with the sound device, because there isn't a single laptop made that has a decent sound system in it. For a start, none of them support ASIO - which is inherently what Audition uses to produce its output. What happens to get around this is that Audition has to provide an internal extra driver to drive the default sound driver, and this is at best a compromise. If you want decent sound from a laptop, then you need an external sound device with an ASIO driver.
As for W8, well I'm with Bob on this one. It's new, slightly weird, and as with all M$ operating systems, all bets are off until at least the first service pack is issued. If you have anti-virus software that's any more aggressive than AVG, then turn it off. The other common gotcha is wifi - some systems manage to give a massively high priority to wifi polling, and sometimes just turning it off completely is the only way to get any sort of performance at all. I must say though that lately this doesn't seem to have been anything like as much of an issue as it used to be back in the bad old days...
But, if you have badly stuttering playback, then it sounds as though your HD streaming isn't working as it should, and that something else is getting priority access to the drive - which is sometimes where virus scans can catch you out. You really do need to stop pretty much everything unnecessary running, one way or another. And get an external sound device that uses ASIO - this effectively bypasses most of the OS, and gives Audition pretty direct access to the device.

  • How to import markers from soundbooth cs5 into audition cs6

Hello, a series VO wav files were  recorded in SB CS5 and markers where then added .
On opening them in Audition CS6 for multitrack editing all markers are missing.
Then in SB XML files of markers where exported for each file but there is no way Audition will open them, with a warning of corrupted or unsupported format.
So, how can one get either wavs (with markers) orxml markers  into audition cs6 that where created in SB?

    evan.fotis wrote:
How is it, that Adobe uses these xml marker format which AE & PP will recognize (cause they were meant for the suite) but not AU!.. especially now that SB is dumped and AU is supposed to be its successor even though they coexisted previously.
Difficult with integration issues... part of the problem is that, of course, Audition wasn't integrated into the suite when SB was its audio editor - and as such didn't require to be suite-compatible.
Because I don't ever run into these problems - simply because I don't do video - I don't have all of the answers. I do have a question though; if you open your SB file in CS6 Premiere, do you have the same problem with the markers? IOW, can you use the new version as a converter, since I believe that it's possible to transfer markers back and forth (isn't it???) between Premiere and Audition in the new version. Or is that screwed as well?
So this yields the question, what format markers will AU recognize and import? any workaround that does not invovle manually adding them in AU? perhaps renaming to txt or something that AU will understand?
Probably the best person to answer this is Suite Spot, because he's the one that has done all the development work on AATranslator, and has probably forgotten more about this than the rest of us know! What I'm pretty sure of though is that SB doesn't feature in the converter.

  • Effect Presets lost in Adobe Audition CS6

Hello. 5 days ago, my Adobe Audition CS6 crashed and I've lost all of my vocals mixing and mastering effect presets. How can I get them back? Are there some backup options? Please help me. Thanks a lot!

Talking to an actual human being may be a problem but you should try your local Adobe Support. Can't give you a number because it depends on where in the world you are. But you should find it on Adobe's website for your area. We are just User to User support on this forum.
If you registered your copy then you should be able to log into your Adobe account and somewhere there should be a list of your registered products/software and the serial number that goes with it.

  • Audition CS6 Flash Video

    Hi,
today I downloaded the Audition CS6 trial. I have used CS5 a while back, but mostly use Ableton these days. However, thought I'd give Audition a whirl. Following a tutorial to try it out, I came to the Video Clip ( Lynda.com - Audition CS6 Essential Training - 02 03. Importing video files).
I found that AVI files were only loading the audio and Flash Video files were reported as either corrupt (incorrectly) or unsupported. After some investigation (prompted by the error message) I followed the Adobe comment in this regard "To enable the following formats, select Enable DLMS Format Support in the Media & Disk Cache preferences. (This option is off by default for maximum performance.) AVI/FLV/R3D/SWF/WMV". This allowed me then to load .F4V flash video files, but still gave the corrupt/unsupported error (without the help suggesting the setting which is now set of course) when attempting .FLV files. The files in question work fine in several video players I have on my machine.
The noticeable difference in the file heaqders (binary) is as follows:
    [F4V - working]     hex: 00 00 00 1C 66 74 79 70 6D 70 34 32 Text: .....ftypmp42
    [FLV not working] hex: 46 4C 56 01 05 00 00 00 09 00 00  00 Text: FLV.........
Therefore, they appear to be different versions of Flash Video - F4V is actually MP4, whereas FLV is Flash Video (video/x-flv).
Adobe states here : http://helpx.adobe.com/audition/using/supported-file-formats.html#video_file_formats that FLV is supported (MP4 was supported in CS5 I believe anyway).
So, the question is...does Audition CS6 really support FLV (aka Flash Video) - or just Adobe suffixed MP4 files? (If so, how do we get it to?)
The test machine is Windows 7 Ultimate 64 (running both ASIO and MME). Au Cache on a second drive. 4Gb Ram (DDR2) quad processor 3.8Ghz, planty of HDD space.
I am a teacher based in Asia, so we (the school) do not have a lot of money to throw about - the machine is fairly high spec, but we do not have any Apple hardware here, so it has to be Windows [I have an Educator/School Adobe Account Id, so we will go that route if at all]. Controller was not connected/No midi or digital sound devices (other than the sound card) attached. Test videos were the f4v file from Lydia and a YouTube download of Blondie, Call Me (although I tried other .flv's in case of corruption - and as they play on VLC/Adobe Player/Windows Media Player, it is unlikely).
Sorry if this has been mentioned before - I did look, but could only find mention of the setting already set as mentioned above (and I did restart Au after changing it - and did check it was still set on reload). Other comments were related to Premiere Pro (which is not on the machine - neither is either of the Flash builders - only Flash Player 10.3 I think as 11 was causing some CPU issues a while back with video streaming).
Thanks for any help in this regard.
    Richard.

That´s possible with Audition 3.0, but in wmv format (and avi format)... Maybe appears soon an update with this missing feature... in CS7 version??? :O
P.S.: I think we all need Adobe Premiere Pro, to export video files from Audition CS6.

  • Adobe audition cs6 download please.

can anyone tell me where to safely download adobe audition cs6 without buying,,,as i already have my product code.thx

The simplest way, if you purchased the download edition, is to visit https://www.adobe.com/account.html  and login with the Adobe ID you used to purchase.  You should be able to download the installer again from this page.
If this isn't successful for some reason, but after having logged in with your Adobe ID, you can find direct links to the Adobe downloads by visiting  http://prodesigntools.com/adobe-cs6-direct-download-links.html

  • Audition CS6 - very slow startup! About 60 seconds...

I'm evaluating Audition CS6 (Master Collection) on my Windows 7 64bit Ultimate, 18 GB ram, i7 920, SSD Crucial M4 128GB, Xonar Essence.
The other programs of the suite open in really 2 seconds thanks to the SSD, Audition takes every time 61 seconds!
I think it's because it has to initialize something.
Once it's open it works perfectly and it's fast.
    Any ideas?
    Thank you,
    Matt

    Hi Matt,
That is definitely NOT normal.  Opening within 5 seconds on a standard system was our goal, and with an SSD it should be practically instantaneous.
With the Xonar Essence, are you using ASIO drivers or MME?  If you changed the audio device in the preferences to the built-in device on the motherboard, does Audition still take this long to start?  (This could help rule out the audio device or drivers being the cause.)
If you could send the file C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Adobe Audition\5.0\Audition Log.txt to [email protected] we might be able to see where it's getting delayed.  (If you don't see this file, save an empty text file to this location with the filename "Audition Log.txt"  without the quotation marks and Audition will begin logging on the next launch.)

  • How do I create vocal harmonies with Adobe Audition CS6?

Anyone know of an "easy" way to create vocal harmonies using Audition CS6? (That doesn't involve individually recording each part. I'm looking specifically for a method that involves simply recording the lead and then using the software to change the note by either a third or a fifth or change the timing to acheive harmony in a layered multitrack.)
    Thanks

If I recall correctly there is a section in the Beatles song Please Please Me for example where the harmony (apart from one note change) is all the same note so as SteveG says there is much more to harmonies than just pitch shifting a lead vocal
In this studio we have just finished about 45 hours of manually pitch correcting lead and harmony vocals (using Audition's excellent manual pitch correction function) for 8 songs and there are parts in there where the engineer had replaced the incorrectly sung harmony with AutoTune generated harmonies - absolutely horrible!
So we removed them and just pitch corrected the original lines - the results were spectacular.
BTW Some of these songs has more than 20 vocal tracks!
However you need to have an understanding of harmony to do this
If this is no help then Waves have a plugin called UltraPitch which may help but the results are just never the same

  • Captivate 6 and Audition CS6

I have a weird issue that I have never seen before. I am working on a Captivate project that was about 59mb when it was given to me. I noticed the audio was a different volume on all slides. I selected all of the audio files for the Captivate project and edited them with Audition CS6. I applied a batch favorite to make all audio files have the same decibel range. Saved all then went back to  Captivate. When I saved the Captivate project  I noticed that my original Captivate file went from 59mb to over 350mb. I can not figure out how to get it back down to around 59mb. All I did was edit the audio decibel then saved from Audition.
I have test this with a new blank project as well. I record some audio then edit in Audition and the file size increase drastically. I have even taken a project and compared file sizes in the library from before and after editing and they are about the same size. There are no duplicates or anything else in the librabry that indicates a massive file size increase.
Where is all of this extra file size data coming from?

Below are some screen shots of the file size before and after. It is like Capitvate is no longer compressing the file upon saving like it usually does.
