EM console -configuration

Hey friends,
I had oracle database 10.2.0.1 installed in /u and OAS,ODS 10.1.2 installed in /u1.
But due t osome reasons i had to swap the mount directories.
Now database is in /u1 and OAS/ODS is in /u.
I changed the corresponding locations in the files i could recall ie from /u to /u1 and vice versa.
$./opmnctl status

the status is up but farm is unavailable
Hence all the components like forms,home,HTTPSERVER,OC4J_BI_Forms.webcache,there status is shown unknown.
In What other files i need to change location of /u1 to /u?

br,
jpinela. Its a Good question. While configuring EM it gathers all the information such as hostname, instance name, port number , listener and so many..
Of course configuration is not same on primary and standby, then EM configuration file properties mismatch with services after the switchover specifically if you are monitoring redo transport , apply and status so on....
AFAIK, you must reconfigure again whenever there is frequent changes. BTW, reconfiguring EM which takes minutes of time.

  • Problem with Design Console configuration - please help

    Dear All,
I am trying to configure design console. It is installed on Windows XP and should point to remote server. I am getting the following error on OIM Server and Port screen:

But host is up and running. I can ping it successfully and oim admin interface is working. I suspect this is permission issue.

  • Remote Access Management Console - configuration issue with Network Location Server

    2012 Std R2
The remote Access management console operation status shows  all green except for network location server .
Error: There is no response from the network location server URL. DirectAccess connectivity might not work as expected, and DirectAccess clients located inside the corporate network might not be able to reach internal resources.
    Resolution listed as:
    1. Configure the network location server on a server that is highly available to clients on the internal network.
    2. If the network location server is running on the Remote Access server, ensure that IIS is running, and that the URL is available.
The remote access server is located on this server. IIS is running. What URL: show I be looking at?
Any other thoughts so I can get remote access working.

    John Lenz

    Hi John,
please follow the steps to reinstall TCP/IP stack.
1.Restart your PC into Safe Mode with Networking.
    2.
Edit your registry. Delete the following keys:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Winsock
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Winsock2
    3.
Open the nettcpip.inf file in your %winroot%/inf folder
    (%winroot% is usually c:/windows).
Find the [MS_TCPIP.PrimaryInstall] section. Change the Characteristics value from 0xA0 to 0x80.
Open the properties of the network connection you want to fix. In the General tab, click on the Install button. Click on the Have Disk button, and point the location to %winroot%/inf. After that select TCP/IP (not version 6).
    4.
Now you would notice that you can uninstall TCP/IP!
Do that, then restart the PC.
Go back to your network connection, and install TCP/IP again as per the above. After another reboot, you should be up and running.
I also noted that the XP network repair tool may yank out the ISA 2004 firewall client stuff. Just run the firewall clinet repair or install it again to fix that problem after you did your reboot. Before you do this kind of crazy stuff.
    5.
This along with a TCP/IP reset using the netsh command:
    netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt
wish you have a nice thanksgiving too
    Regards,
    Mike

  • Console configuration LWAPP AP 1240

    Hello
How can I manually alter the IP settings of LWAPP Aironet 1240AG on the console?
    Regards
    Pascal

    Hi Pascal,
    Maybe this info will help;
Manually Configuring Controller Information Using the Access Point CLI
In a new installation, when your access point is unable to reach a DHCP server, you can manually configure needed controller information using the access point CLI.
Note The CLI commands in this section can be used only on an access point that is not associated to a controller.
The static information configured with the CLI commands are used by the access point to connect with a controller. After connecting with the controller, the controller reconfigures the access point with new controller settings, but the static IP addresses for the access point and the default gateway are not changed.
    Configuring Controller Information
To manually configure controller information on a new (out-of -the-box) access point using the access point CLI interface, you can use these EXEC mode CLI commands:
    AP# lwapp ap ip address
    AP# lwapp ip default-gateway IP-address
AP# lwapp controller ip address IP-address
    AP# lwapp ap hostname name
Where name is the access point name on the controller.
Note The default (out-of-box) Enable password is Cisco.
    Clearing Manually Entered Controller Information
When you move your access point to a different location in your network, you must clear the manually entered controller information to allow your access point to associate with a different controller.
Note This command requires the controller configured Enable password to enter the CLI EXEC mode.
To clear or remove the manually entered controller information, you can use these EXEC mode CLI commands:
    clear lwapp ap ip address
    clear lwapp ip default-gateway
    clear lwapp controller ip address
    clear lwapp ap hostname
Manually Resetting the Access Point to Defaults
You can manually reset your access point to default settings using this EXEC mode CLI command:
Note This command requires the controller configured Enable password to enter the CLI EXEC mode.
    clear lwapp private-config
    From this good LWAPP 1240 doc;
    http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/ps6521/products_installation_guide_chapter09186a008079b730.html#wp1082991
    Hope this helps!

  • EMCA config dbconsole creates DB Console configuration using localhost.

Configured a repository and dbcontrol using emca (emca -config dbcontrol db -repos create).
However, it uses the Local hostname as localhost, instead of using the actual hostname of the server.
    Server box OS: Linux.
    Portion of /etc/hosts (topmost portion)
    # Do not remove the following line, or various programs
    # that require network functionality will fail.
    127.0.0.1 localhost.localdomain loghost
    10.184.133.162 localhost.in.oracle.com localhost
    10.184.133.162 ofss220210.in.oracle.com ofss220210
How to change this URL to reflect the actual name of the host in the URL instead of using the localhost?

Found answer on my own: You can export variable ORACLE_HOSTNAME to the server name or the name which is accessible from any machine.

  • Configuring Web Logic for ODI console problem

    Hi guys ,
I following the instruction from here
    http://www.oracle.com/webfolder/technetwork/tutorials/obe/fmw/odi/odi_11g/setup_jee_agent/setup_jee_agent.htm

    then the wizard screen appears
but the component of my installation only has
Basic Weblogic Server Domain - 12.1.1.0
Basic Weblogic SIP Server Domain - 12.1.1.0
WebLogic Advanced Web Services for JAX-RPC Extension - 12.1.1.0
WebLogic Advanced Web Services for JAX-WS Extension - 12.1.1.0

    Oraclce Data Integrator - Console
Am I missing something at the installation .

  • Clarifications on OIM Design Console 11.1.1.5 Installation

I have the OIM Server 11.1.1.5 installed and configured on OL (Oracle Linux) 5.7 64bit. The Next step is to install and confiure the OIM Design Console.
I have read the 11.1.1.5 doc. The OIM Console runs on Windows only. But I have noticed that some posts claimed the 11g console can run on the both of Windows and Linux.
    OIM Design Console
Is that true? If yes, please point the doc for the installation and configuration on the Linux.
If not, what are the minimum requirements to run OIM Console 11.1.1.5 on the Windows?
    I looked over the 11.1.1.5 doc http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E21764_01/install.1111/e12002/oidonly.htm#CDDIDCIC
    I have:
    WLS not a mandatory;
    SOA not a mandatoty;
    IAM 11.1.1.5 a mandatory;
The 11.1.1.5 doc states that OIM manager has to be configured prior to configuring of OIM Console. I read this as the RCU schemas relevant. Do I have to install a new RCU schema DB in the local Windows just for the OIM Console configuration? Or I can use the SAME RCU Schema DB for the OIM Server on the OL.
Thanks a lot for the help.

If you have already installed OIM 11.1.1.5 on linux machine just do below to configure design console
    1. goto IDM_HOME/bin/ run config.sh
    2. In the configuration wizard, select ‘Design Console’ checkbox ONLY.
    3. next screen, enter the OIM server host and port name
4 generate wlfullclient.jar and Copy the ‘$WL_HOME/server/lib/wlfullclient.jar’ to ‘IDM_HOME/designconsole/ext’ (find below instruction given for generation of wlfullclient.jar)
    5. now goto IDM_HOME/designconsole-> run xlclient.sh and you will have design console in unix
If you want your design console in windows do below
1.copy entire folder "designconsole" from linux to Windows machine
    2. Now, in your local windows machine, edit the file ‘$DC_HOME/designconsole/xlclient.cmd’ ($DC_HOME is the folder where you copied the ‘designconsole’ folder) to change the following values:
    * "@loc\java\bin\java" - '@loc' points to your JDK installation
    * "-DXL.HomeDir=@loc" - '@loc' will be $DC_HOME/designconsole
    * "config\@auth_config" - '@auth_config' will be authwl.conf
    creation of wlfullclient.jar
    - Change directories to the server/lib directory.
    cd WL_HOME/server/lib
    - Use the following command to create wlfullclient.jar in the server/lib directory:
    java -jar wljarbuilder.jar
    --nayan

  • OAS 10.1.2 / chgiphost / EM-Console doesn't start after change of hostname

    Hello!
I changed on my OAS 10.1.2 ip-address and hostname with script /$ORACLE_HOME/chgip/chgiphost.sh -mid.
But I can't start em-console and get the following error in em-application.log:
Portal Configuration Interface failed to initialise:
    oracle.sysman.emSDK.emd.comm.CommException: IOException in sending Request :: newHostname.domain:cn=oldHostname.domain...
    It seem's that chgiphost.sh script doesn't change em-console configuration.
    Any ideas?
    regards
    Harald.

    Solution:
I secured Enterprise Mangager (HTTPS, emctl secure...).
    First, I must unsecure EM-Console, run "chgiphost.sh -mid" and then re-secure EM-Console.

  • Admin Console consolidation

I have a client that has 4 physical machines. Using Windows BEA 9.2 MP3...They installed an application in domain X (managed server ms1) Each box is
exactly the same. (except different machine IPs). Each machine has a Node Manager and Admin Console configured on port 5555/7001 respectively.
This requires a separate console session to manage each app.(4 authentications, etc...)
Q: Is it possible (without re-install) to elevate 1 of the admin consoles to have all the other node managers connect to it and then turn down the local admin consoles
running on each server. In essence re-configure the plumbing. (giving me a single pane of glass to manage each app)
The app is not cluster aware and the customer has chosen to use external load balancers to distribute the load to the (4) servers. (i.e ip addresses)
So this request is just to make an admins life easier. I am being told that an un-install and re-install is required.
    Cross my fingers.
    TIA
    DJ

So you are saying that I need to
1.) create 3 NEW servers entries in one of the physical servers domains.(they are the same named name (i.e domain X) )the paths I will check, but i suspect they are the same.
    Physical server ABC: domain X = ABC.X
    server MS1 (existing)
    add MS2, MS3, MS4
2.) pack each servers domains managed servers (MS1) from Physical server
    Physical server 123: domain X = 123.X
    pack MS1
    Physical server 456: domain X = 456.X
    pack MS1
    Physical server 789: domain X = 789.X
    pack MS1
3.) unpack servers???. (will the fact that the domain ABC.X already has a MS1 instance be a problem)?
how do you associate the unpacked MS1 entries from old physical servers to their NEW MS(X) placeholder entries on ABC.X?
    Key ( Physical Server.Domain(ManagedServer) )
Aren't the existing managed servers :
    123.X(MS1) and
    456.X(MS1) and
    789.X(MS1)
Already enrolled in the node managers on each of the physical servers(123, 456 and 789)???
    Any help would be appreciated..
    TIA
