EM FMW Control MBeans Browser and Sensitive Data

I have an MBean in my application that is used for configuration of the application.
This MBean has an attribute that represents the password for authentication to a back-end system that the application utilizes.
I have made the password attribute "write-only" so that the value does not appear in clear-text in an MBeans browser.
When I use the MBeans browser in the Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control console, I can not see the value of the password attribute (because the attribute is "write-only").
I want to make the password changeable from the MBeans Browser (i.e. I want EM FMW Control MBeans Browser to be my application's configuration front end), but as I type into the text field for the password attribute, the password value is in clear text.
Is there any way to force the EM FMW Control MBeans Browser to treat the text field for the password attribute as a "password" (i.e. masked) style input element?

No. Browser back and forth functionality and its history is browser specific.

  • How do I prevent browsing and search data from being forwarded to Google by Mozilla, while still using Mozilla's Firefox as my default browser?

    I do enjoy using Mozilla's Firefox as my default browser, BUT, I don't enjoy the details of my life, to include my Internet activity, to be archived by Google, or anyone else, via Mozilla's/Firefox's sharing of my Internet browsing and/or search engine activity with any aspect or facet of the Google organization. With all of this said, my question is, "How do I prevent browsing and search data from being forwarded to Google by Mozilla, while still using Mozilla's Firefox as my default browser?"

    Firefox's default behavior includes no automatic interaction with Google.
    We do use Google as default search engine and to report web forgery in the 'help' menu, but no data are sent to Google without your knowledge, and you can change your preferred search engine at will.
    However many websites themselves make use of Google Ads which do cause interaction with Google when you load the webpages. This is visible in status bar and happens in any browser. The [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/noscript NoScript] add-on for Firefox can largely save you from this problem.
    If you see things happening otherwise, please reply with details on what you see.

  • Controlling SimpleCenter - browsing and playing fi...

    I use my N95 to remotely control a SimpleCentre server. When I have selected and started playing a file I can not go back to browsing files without the file that is playing being stopped. I've been in with SimpleCenter and they say it is the way the controller has been implemented on the N95 that causes this restriction rather than the SimpleCenter server. Is there any way around this or any plans to fix this in a future version? Many thanks.

    Thank you!
    My Mac Mini runs iTunes all the time, so the Apple TV's in the LAN can play music stored on the Mini.  Normally, I don't play music directly from iTunes on the Mini, but many times I have logged in to the Mini only to find music playing when it should not be.  I pause the music, and then sometime later it starts playing again on the Mini, seemingly all by itself.  This has been going on for some time, and a real puzzle.  I've tried various remedies, including making an empty playlist and opening it on the Mini in iTunes.  Nothing I tried had worked, so I just turned the iTunes volume completely down, and lived with this "ghost in the machine."
    It so happens my Mini lives in a media closet where one of the ATV's also lives (on the same shelf).  My devices in the media closet are controlled via infrared transmitters inside the closet which, in turn, are controlled by RF via the Logitech Harmony 900 in another room.
    It never occurred to me that the infrared signals sent to the ATV were also being picked up by the IR receiver in the Mac Mini (which I never realized existed and was turned on by default).  I disabled the IR receiver on the Mini, and hallelujah!  No more iTunes music mysteriously playing on the Mini itself inside the media closet!

    Hello Frodo.
    This may be caused by the browser configuration.  Open your browser, press Menu key, and select Options | Browser Configuration.  Try changing the browser emulation.

  • Best way to browse and read data from a lot of files?

    Hi All,
    I am trying to read tags from music files. Currently I'm listing all the files and then reading through the tags, as below:
    List<File> result = new ArrayList<File>();
    FilenameFilter mp3filter = new FilenameFilter() {
         public boolean accept(File dir, String name) {
              return name.endsWith(".mp3");
    FilenameFilter wmafilter = new FilenameFilter() {
         public boolean accept(File dir, String name) {
              return name.endsWith(".wma");
    FileFilter dirFilter = new FileFilter() {
         public boolean accept(File file) {
              return file.isDirectory();
    File[] dirList = aStartingDir.listFiles(dirFilter);
    File[] mp3files = aStartingDir.listFiles(mp3filter);
    File[] wmafiles = aStartingDir.listFiles(wmafilter);
    List<File> filesDirs = Arrays.asList(dirList);
    List<File> filesMp3 = Arrays.asList(mp3files);
    List<File> filesWma = Arrays.asList(wmafiles);
    for (File file : filesMp3) {
         result.add(file);
    for (File file : filesWma) {
         result.add(file);
    for (File file : filesDirs) {
         List<File> deeperList = getFileListing(file);
         result.addAll(deeperList);
    }and then read the files in a for loop through the list.
    Is there a better way to do the same?

    Well, you could optimize that just a little bit by only calling listFiles once with a filter that would accept directories, wmas, and mp3s all in one go. Then you could iterate through the results and separate them into the three categories after you had the complete recursive directory listing. That may be faster. But your OS will likely cache the results of the directory listing, thus minimizing the effort of your current approach. But honestly, no... you need the headers from every file, so you'll need to find each file and then check the headers.
    If you want, you can cache the results somewhere for future reference. Are you concerned about performance or some such?

  • Restrict sensitive data leakage from Printing, "Save as", Copying and Priting screen?

    Our CEO highly suspected some of our staff who have sold the confidential drawings to competitors but we do not have enough proof. How can we restrict sensitive data leakage from Printing, "Save as", Copying and Priting screen?
    Thank you for your advice in advance.

    That all depends on how much hassel you'll willing to go through. You can save an image from Photoshop as a PDF...then inside of Acrobat (can't do it in Photoshop) you have two levels os security. You can require password to even open a PDF and the 2nd level is to require a second password to be able to print, edit or change (once opened there's nothing you can do about screen captures).
    So, you could then control the number of people that had the various password access to open or edit. But...keeping track of those passwords and making sure the people that need them have them can be an issue.
    Note that a secured password protected PDF can have text, images, movies and audio–pretty much anything you might need. Also note there are some issues regarding the password encryption...I don't recall what level of encryption is capable of being exported to forgien countries...you should look into that if disctribution would be outside of the US.

  • Drag and drop data from Numeric Control or Numeric Array to excel file

    I have two inquirries about drag and drop:
    1. How to drag and drop data from a Numeric Array or Numeric control to excel file
    2. How to drag and drop data from a Numeric Array or Numeric control to an Numeric array Indicator?
    The item 2, I tried it with the event structure, but it didnt work.

  • Best way to control and read data from multiple instruments?

    Hello,
    I'm building an application to test power supplies involving multiple pieces of equipment over a couple of different comm busses. The application will also send control instructions to some of the instruments, and read data from some of the instruments. The reading and control profiles will not run on the same schedule (variable length control steps, configurable read interval).
    I was thinking of using a queued statemachine (producer/consumer) for the control profile and another to read the data, but I got concerned that there would be collisions between sending control commands and read commands to the same machine. Is there a suggested design pattern for implementing something like this?
    Timing of the commands isn't critical down to the milisecond, but I need to collect reasonably accurate timestamps when the data is read. The same is true for the control commands.
    Here are the instruments I'm going to use, if the are control, read, or both, and the communication method
    Instrument Funtions Comm Method
    Power Supply Read data Communicates to PMBus Adapter
    PMBus to USB Adapter Read data USB (Non-Visa)
    Switch control relays USB (VISA)
    Power Dist. Unit read data/control outlets SNMP (Ethernet)
    Electronic Load read data/control load GPIB (VISA)
    Thermal Chamber read data/control temp Ethernet (VISA)
    Thanks,
    Simon

    Hello, there is a template in LV called "Continuous measurement and Logging".
    It can give you some idea how to properly decouple the "GUI Event handler" top loop (where your Event structure is) from the DAQ and other loops.
    You do not need to totally replicate the above example, but you can find there nice tricks which can help you at certain points.
    The second loop from the top is the "UI message loop". It handles the commands coming from the top loop, and regarding to the local state machine and other possible conditions and states, it can command the other loops below.
    During normal run, the different instrument loops just do the data reading, but if you send a control command from the top loop to a certain instrument loop (use a separate Queue for every instrument loops), that loop will Dequeue the control command, execute it, and goes back to data reading mode (in data reading mode the loop Dequeu itself with a "data read" command automatically). In this way the control and data read modes happen in serial not in parallel which you want to avoid (but I think some instrument drivers can even handle parallel access, it will not happen in really parallel...).
    In every instrument loop when you read a value, attach a TimeStamp to it, and send this timestamp/value couple to the DataLogging loop via a Queue. You can use a cluster including 3 items: Source(instrument)/timestamp/value. All the instrument loops can use the same "Data logging" Queue. In the Datalogging while loop, after Dequeue-ing, you can Unbundle the cluster and save the timestamp and data-value into the required channel (different channel for every instrument) of a TDMS file.
    (Important: NEVER use 2 Event structures in the same top level "main" VI!)

  • OSB. WLST/MBeans .. Runtime Data and Operations

    Hello *,
    I'm having difficulties in gathering runtime statistics as well as invoking operations on OSB MBeans. Actually I can't open/find any OSB Mbeans at all. I'm using WLShell for MBean browsing as well as scripted WLST.
    Could somebody please post an example how to deal with OSB MBeans? Is there anything else to configure which I'm missing at this point?
    I would be happy if I could browse through some Business Service runtime statistics and/or stop and resume an endpoint. Product like MULE and ServiceMix allow the user to do so using standard JMX tools like MC4j or JConsole.
    any help or commente highly appreciated!!!

  • While browsing the cube data Excel the circle pointer starts to spin and the excel go into a not-responding state,any recommendations to improve performance in excel?

    hi,
    while browsing the cube data Excel the circle pointer starts to spin and the excel go into a not-responding state,any recommendations to improve performance in excel?
    I have 20 measures and 8 dimensions.
    while filtering data by using dimensions in excel it is taking so much time.
    Ex:
    I browsed 15 measures in excel and filtered data based on time(quarter  wise) and other dimesion product. It is taking long time to get  data.
    Can you please help on this issue.
    Regards,
    Samba

    Hi Samba,
    What're the versions of your Office Excel and SQL Server Analysis Services? It will be helpful if you can share the detail computer resource information to us while encountered this issue.
    In addition, we don't know your cube structure and the underlying relationships. But you can take a look at the following articles to troubleshoot the performance issue:

  • Send html and  image data to browser

    Hi,
    Is it possible to send both html and image data to browser.
    Can I dynamically generate the image and send the image data without storing the image in web server's hard disk.
    Can you plz tell me what areas that I should look for and learn in order to do this.
    THanks a lot,
    Chamal.

    u can make use of jakarta`s commons fileUploader classes to upload ur file to the server
    here is a small example i made
    html is like this
    <html>
    <form method="post" action="/uploadFile" enctype="multipart/form-data">
    <input type="text" name="uname"/>
    File
    <input type="file" name="upfile"/>
    <input type="submit"/>
    </form>
    </html>
    my servlet contains these code
    FileUpload fup=new FileUpload();
              boolean isMultipart = FileUpload.isMultipartContent(req);
    //          Create a new file upload handler
              System.out.println(isMultipart);
              DiskFileUpload upload = new DiskFileUpload();
    //          Parse the request
              List /* FileItem */ items = upload.parseRequest(req);
              Iterator iter = items.iterator();
              while (iter.hasNext()) {
              FileItem item = (FileItem) iter.next();
              if (item.isFormField()) {
              System.out.println("its a field");
              } else {
              System.out.println("its a file");
              System.out.println(item.getName());
              File cfile=new File(item.getName());
              System.out.println(cfile.getName());
              System.out.println(getServletContext().getRealPath("/mine"));
              File tosave=new File(getServletContext().getRealPath("/"),cfile.getName());
              item.write(tosave);
