EM (management server) doesn't find node

i created a new database.
when i start EM(management server) and search for new nodes it doesn't find the db.
when i start EM standalone i can easy add this DB to the tree.
can i add the DB manually when connected to management server?
i set the global db-name to the same as the sid. could this be the problem? i didnt specify the global db-name like this: sid.domain.yy.
thanks a lot

You need to Discover the nodes from navigator menu...or by pressing ctrl + D
Make sure Oracle intelligence service is running on Nodes which you want to discover.
like for Oracle 9i

  • Not able to start SOA managed server first time with node manager by WLST

    Hi all,
I have created a SOA11g domain. Then using WLST utility I have started the Node Manager.
Then from WLST prompt I have connected to the Node Manager & started the Admin Server successfully.
But when ever I am starting the SOA manager server using WLST it's throwing the following error in WLST page : -
Error Starting server soa_server1: weblogic.nodemanager.NMException: Exception while starting server 'soa_server1'
In server log file I am getting the following error : -
Server subsystem failed. Reason: weblogic.security.SecurityInitializationException: Authentication for user denied
    weblogic.security.SecurityInitializationException: Authentication for user denied
I am getting this problem only when I am trying to start the domain for the first time after domain creation using WLST/nodemanager.
If I start & stop the SOA managed server from EM console & then try to start it aging from WLST/NodeManager then it's work fine.
Can anyone please tell me what can be the issue?
    Thanks in Advance!!!

If I start & stop the SOA managed server from EM console & then try to start it aging from WLST/NodeManager then it's work fine. When you a server for the first time by using console or startManagedWeblogic.cmd, a file boot.properties is created under %DOMAIN_HOME%\servers\soa_server2\data\nodemanager...
The WLST/Nodemanager approach doesn't create the file so it won't work for the first start... But it will work just fine from the second on...
I've never tried, but you can try and create the boot.properties manually in your script with the following content... Password should be encrypted after the first successful start...
    username=type-the-username-here
    password=type-the-password-here

  • Managed server doesn't show in server list in JDev

I have admin server (AdminServer) and managed server (soa_server1) configured in my domain. I started both server successfully, and in WL console, I see soa_server state is running, and soa-infra is Active; in em I see SOA node on the left panel, and soa_server1 status is up. When I tried to deploy my composite to server (I want to deploy it to soa_server1), I only see AdminServer in the SOA servers list, not soa_server1. how could I make soa_server1 shown?
Edited by: wiky on 19-Jul-2011 6:30 AM

To be more specific, this is what I did and the problem I am facing:
    1. configured admin server and manged server (soa_server1) on my domain(weblogic 10.3.5).
    2. started the admin server
    3. started soa_server1
    4. see both servers in WL control, both server state=running
    5. see both server in EM console, both server status are up
    6. in JDev(11.1.1.5.0), created an application server connection, and tested the connection successfully
    7. when I tried to deploy my composite from JDev, I selected the application server connection, on step "SOA servers", it only lists AdminServer.
I want to deploy my composite to soa_server1. How could I make soa_server1 shown on the list?

  • Passing arguments to Managed Server ServerStart when using Node Manager

Below is the procedure to pass arguments to Managed Server serverstart tab when using Node Manager to start and stop the Managed Server instance
For passing the JVM arguments we will have to use "-server" which is hotspot and then pass the arguments
for eg: "-server -Xms2048m -Xmx2048m -verbosegc"
For adding jar's to the classpath you will have to add weblogic.jar and weblogic_sp.jar from WL_HOME/server/lib directory as well along with the custom jar (In some cases we can ignore weblogic_sp.jar, just adding weblogic.jar will do).
    for eg: "\home\user\debug.jar;\home\user\bea\wlserver_10.3\server\lib\weblogic.jar;\home\user\bea\wlserver_10.3\server\lib\weblogic_sp.jar;"

    Hi,
To me, if you don't wanna use the NodeManager, you won't be able to start your managed servers with WLST.
I guess the only ways are :
    * through the console / WLST using the NodeManager
    * using the startManagedWebLogic.[cmd/sh]

  • Path problem when use node manager to start Managed Server

Hi, I have met a problem:
My managed server's root directory is /usr/local/bea/cluster1/usr_projects/mydomain
My Node Manager 's default directory is /usr/local/bea/cluster1/weblogic700/common/nodemanager
I have some config file located under managed server's root directory and log
file is also should be generated in managed server's root directory.
But when I try to use node manager to startup/shutdown the Managed Server, I found
weblogic can not find the config file if I don't move the config file from Managed
server's root directory to node manager server's default directory. and also log
file was created under node manager's default directory.
It seems that managed server's default directory has been changed to node manager's
    default directory.
What shall I do if I want Managed Server's default directory to be kept?

    Hi Lumin,
If the weblogic version is 8.1, there is a RootDirectory field in Remote
Start tab which should resolve your problem. Just enter the absolute
directory pathname on the machine where you are starting your managed server
and the current working directory of the managed server will be this
RootDirectory. Before 8.1, the RootDirectory was used for finding the config
file for weblogic but it was never used to change the working directory of
the managed server created by the node manager.
    cheers,
    gaurav.

  • Native IO Disabled when using node manager to start managed server

    Hi,
I am able to start my node manager and the managed server from the Admin Console. OS is AIX, WebLogic 9.2 MP3. The managed server starts OK, but Native IO is disabled even though it is enabled in the Admin Console for that manager server:
    ####<Jul 28, 2009 8:25:00 AM CDT> <Info> <Socket> <pstps09.statefarm.com> <PIA2> <[ACTIVE] ExecuteThread: '0' for queue: 'weblogic.kernel.Default (self-tuning)'> <<WLS Kernel>> <> <> <1248787500274> <BEA-000447> <Native IO Disabled. Using Java IO.>
I set NativeVersionEnabled to False in nodemanager.properties as specified in the BEA documentation, but can get Native IO to work. The log file clearly indicates that the JDK version is 32-bit:
    java.fullversion = J2RE 1.5.0 IBM J9 2.3 AIX ppc-32 j9vmap3223-20071007 (JIT enabled)
Any ideas how to fix this or is this working as designed for AIX platforms?
    Thanks!
    -Mary Manchukian

The following document asks to set NativeVersionEnabled to False:
    http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs61/adminguide/remotestart.html#1043956:
The Node Manager is available for use only on Windows and UNIX platforms. Native libraries are available for running the Node Manager on Windows, Solaris, HP-UX, AIX and Red Hat Linux operating systems. For UNIX operating systems other than Solaris and HP UX, you will need to use the following argument on the java command line when starting the Node Manager:
    -Dweblogic.nodemanager.nativeVersionEnabled=false
If we do not set NativeVersionEnabled to False, the managed server doesn't start at all and fails with the error:
java.io.IOException: Server failed to start up. See server output log for more details.

Now I finish install two Agile Server ,and successful make two server compose a cluster.
Now I will install two File manager Server ,I want to ask what's the method let me synchronize two file manager Server ?
Does the File manager has this mechanism to let the file keep synchronize on two file manager server?
I find a PDF name "Agile PLM Capacity Planning Guid" V 9.3.1 ,it says there are two software can synchronize file manager server , is XXCOPY and RoboCopy, but the two softwares only support Windows . Is there a software support synchronize file manager server on Linux ?

Hi I believe you have the wrong forum.
This forum is for the Agile PLM for Process product suite, not for the Agile A9 suite. For Agile A9 or Primavera questions, you can use Oracle Support, Support Communities, Yahoo Groups for Agile API or WRAU.
This forum is for Agile PLM for Process, which is part of the same Agile family but a different product.
    Thanks.

Hope I have the relevant newsgroup....
Does anyone know how I might be able to find out the name of the managed server (or its port) that I am currently running on?
We have a clustered environment (1 admin, 2 managed servers) but I need to get the name of the managed server/port so I can generate some unique information for the server.
I was reading about JMX and it seems I can return a list of ALL servers configured to run on a cluster. It doesn't really help though as I need to find out the specific server details within the cluster.
Any help would really be appreciated.
    Cheers,
    Jay.

Yes, you can use WLST tool :-
    domainConfig()
    cmo.getServers()
    Link : [http://edocs.bea.com/wls/docs100/config_scripting/monitoring.html]
    I hope this helps :)

  • Error when trying to start managed server from node manager

I have a managed server which is authenticated through a WeblogicAuthenticProvider. When starting the managed server from command line I need to setup certain jars in the classpath in order to start it successfully. However when I try and start the managed server from a node manager, I receive the following error.
Any ideas as to what is going on are appreciated. Is there any way to force Weblogic Node manager to invoke the actual startManagedWeblogic.cmd when bringing up the managed server
    Thanks

    Found a workaround:
Manually, add PATH (and probably the other environment variables also) to
    ${WLS_HOME}/common/bin/commEnv.sh.

  • SOA Suite 11.1.1.3 - doesn't create managed server

Trying to install SOA Suite 11.1.1.3 from the docs at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/install.1111/e14318/qisoa.htm
Get right up until section "6.1 Configuring Custom Port Numbers for Oracle BAM" (without any errors in logs etc) and notice that the MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/domain_name/servers/ directory only has one entry - AdminServer - i.e. doesn't contain soa_server1 or bam_server1.
Odd, so anyway, carry on without it, startWeblogic.sh runs fine, contents of startManagedWebLogic_readme.txt are as follows:
To start managed servers, use either startManagedWebLogic.cmd
or startManagedWebLogic.sh, as appropriate for your environment.
    Usage instructions:
For ease of reference, you defined the following managed
    servers in your domain:
    bam_server1
    soa_server1
    All good.
So I run startWeblogic.sh soa_server1. This actually creates the MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/domain_name/servers/soa_server1 directory - which seems good - but then it fails with the following:

    Presumably, because there isn't a boot.properties file.
Even fixing that it gives me:
    Reason: weblogic.security.SecurityInitializationException: Authentication denied: Boot identity not valid;
I assume this is all down to the managed server not being created at config time.
Any ideas as to why this would be?
    Thanks

    Thanks for the reply Anuj,
    1. Let me make one point clear, I don't need to create a Web Logic domain if I create a SOA DOMAIN.? right?
    2. In setDomainEnv.sh BEA_JAVA_HOME has the JRMC (supported for SOA) PATH, as I selected jrmc while creating SOA DOMAIN.
    3.I checked commEnv.sh file ( MW_HOME/wlserver_10.3/common/bin/commEnv.sh) and I copied some of the code,there is JAVA_HOME , so I will change to supported JRockit(jrmc).
    # Reset JAVA_HOME, JAVA_VENDOR and PRODUCTION_MODE unless JAVA_HOME
    # and JAVA_VENDOR are pre-defined.
    if [ -z "${JAVA_HOME}" -o -z "${JAVA_VENDOR}" ]; then
    # Set up JAVA HOME
    *JAVA_HOME="/home/oracle/jrockit-R27.5.0-jdk1.6.0_03"*
    # Set up JAVA VENDOR, possible values are
    #Oracle, HP, IBM, Sun ...
    JAVA_VENDOR=Oracle
    # PRODUCTION_MODE, default to the development mode
    PRODUCTION_MODE=""
    fi
I don't see any other files where I have to change JAVA_HOME . I will look up in Web Logic forums too.
    Thanks again

  • Stop managed server without node manager and admin server

What are the commonly used ways to stop managed Weblogic server without node manager running and without administration server running?
(I have only one solution: on the managed server startup dump process ID to a file, and then when I want to stop it, send a signal to this process ID and kill JVM. But it seems not very clean way.)
(The managed server is started when both node manager and admin server are down, and I provide boot.properties of admin server to the managed server to start.)
UPDATED: And I don't want to start neither admin server, nor node manager even temporarily.

    Hai,
I read the Oracle weblogic wlst script document without Admin server you cannot connect the managed server through the WLST script. see the below lines
"The start command starts Managed Servers or clusters in a domain using Node Manager.
To use the start command, WLST must be connected to a running Administration Server.
To start Managed Servers without requiring a running Administration Server, use the
nmStart command with WLST connected to Node Manager."
"You shut down a server to which WLST is connected by entering the shutdown command
    without any arguments.
When connected to a Managed Server instance, you only use the shutdown command to shut
down the Managed Server instance to which WLST is connected; you cannot shut down another
server while connected to a Managed Server instance.
WLST uses Node Manager to shut down a Managed Server. When shutting down a Managed
Server, Node Manager must be running.
In the event of an error, the command returns"
They are two option if you are using adminserver then we can stop the any Managed server.
The option is if you are using the nodemanager without admin server we can stop the any Managed server.
The last final solution to kill the particular Managed server pid.

  • Can i set a node manager serve for 2 domain on one machin??

    My question is simple.
I installed webcenter suite and soa suite in a machine using difference linux user and difference middleware home.
and I want to set a node manager server for two domains (soa_domain and webcenter_domain).
    Is is possible?
When I tried to register domain list in node manager domain list using nmEnroll() of wlst, it failed.
please check following logs in 7101 is admin server port of soa domain and I ran node manager on webcenter domain.
    Thanks in advance.

you might be victim of the "node manager starts WL Server with same Unix user id that was used to start Node Manager itself" problem
    see here http://forums.oracle.com/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=2184607&tstart=89
I have been looking everywhere for a simple way to tell Node Manager to use a different Unix UID,
    anybody any clue?
