SOA Suite 11.1.1.3 - doesn't create managed server

Trying to install SOA Suite 11.1.1.3 from the docs at http://download.oracle.com/docs/cd/E15523_01/install.1111/e14318/qisoa.htm
Get right up until section "6.1 Configuring Custom Port Numbers for Oracle BAM" (without any errors in logs etc) and notice that the MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/domain_name/servers/ directory only has one entry - AdminServer - i.e. doesn't contain soa_server1 or bam_server1.
Odd, so anyway, carry on without it, startWeblogic.sh runs fine, contents of startManagedWebLogic_readme.txt are as follows:
To start managed servers, use either startManagedWebLogic.cmd
or startManagedWebLogic.sh, as appropriate for your environment.
Usage instructions:
For ease of reference, you defined the following managed
servers in your domain:
bam_server1
soa_server1
All good.
So I run startWeblogic.sh soa_server1. This actually creates the MW_HOME/user_projects/domains/domain_name/servers/soa_server1 directory - which seems good - but then it fails with the following:

Presumably, because there isn't a boot.properties file.
Even fixing that it gives me:
Reason: weblogic.security.SecurityInitializationException: Authentication denied: Boot identity not valid;
I assume this is all down to the managed server not being created at config time.
Any ideas as to why this would be?
Thanks

Thanks for the reply Anuj,
1. Let me make one point clear, I don't need to create a Web Logic domain if I create a SOA DOMAIN.? right?
2. In setDomainEnv.sh BEA_JAVA_HOME has the JRMC (supported for SOA) PATH, as I selected jrmc while creating SOA DOMAIN.
3.I checked commEnv.sh file ( MW_HOME/wlserver_10.3/common/bin/commEnv.sh) and I copied some of the code,there is JAVA_HOME , so I will change to supported JRockit(jrmc).
# Reset JAVA_HOME, JAVA_VENDOR and PRODUCTION_MODE unless JAVA_HOME
# and JAVA_VENDOR are pre-defined.
if [ -z "${JAVA_HOME}" -o -z "${JAVA_VENDOR}" ]; then
# Set up JAVA HOME
*JAVA_HOME="/home/oracle/jrockit-R27.5.0-jdk1.6.0_03"*
# Set up JAVA VENDOR, possible values are
#Oracle, HP, IBM, Sun ...
JAVA_VENDOR=Oracle
# PRODUCTION_MODE, default to the development mode
PRODUCTION_MODE=""
fi
I don't see any other files where I have to change JAVA_HOME . I will look up in Web Logic forums too.
Thanks again

  • XSLT in bpel (soa suite 11.1.1.3.0): cannot create multi source xslt

    Hi,
    first of all I've read this:
    http://blogs.oracle.com/soa_how_to/2010/04/how_to_implement_multi-source_xslt_mapping_in_11g_bpel.html
    My problem is quite different:
    when I try to create a multisource XSLT, I receive this error:
    "Source parts of variables are either simple type or complex type, thus can not be used to create mapper file".
    What does that mean and how can I bypass this ?

    You can try defining a wsdl message type which holds all the simple types under a root element. Define a bpel variable of this message type and populate the various fields of this variable, instead of storing it under multiple bpel variables. Try to pass this variable to the xslt.

  • Another bug in Oracle Soa Suite 11gR3 (bpel workflow)

    Hello,
    I am getting an error that i guess be a bug in soa suite (bpel human task workflow).
    I created a simple workflow that have three human task (three steps of approval):
    1 ) I deployed the project
    2) I invite a requisition for the bpel through SoapUI
    3) I access the worklistapp application and make login using the user approver1
    4) I click at Approve button. It works.
    5) When i logout and login using the user approver2 (second human task - second level of approval) the requistion is there, but when i click in task the bellow exception is throwed:
    Obs.: If i restart my weblogic server, and access the worklistapp with the user approver2 (again). It Works.
    Question: Should I always restart the Weblogic Server for each step in a workflow ? If my bpel have 5 human tasks, i have to do 5 restarts on the weblogic server for work ?
    Anyone has the same bug ?

    Thank you, Tomasz!
    That really works! I'll add example of changes to DataBinding.cpx because it is not so obvious what to do after renaming package and applying automatic refactoring (that doesn't fix all what it should fix).
    Assuming we've renamed the package from bpm3 to bpm3.db3
    Before changes:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <Application xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/application"
    version="11.1.1.60.13" id="DataBindings" SeparateXMLFiles="false"
    Package="bpm3.db3" ClientType="Generic">
    <pageMap>
    <page path="/taskDetails1.jspx" usageId="bpm3_taskDetails1PageDef"/>
    </pageMap>
    <pageDefinitionUsages>
    <page id="bpm3_taskDetails1PageDef"
    path="bpm3.db3.pageDefs.taskDetails1PageDef"/>
    </pageDefinitionUsages>
    <dataControlUsages>
    *<dc id="ApproveForm3_ApproveTask3" path="bpm3.ApproveForm3_ApproveTask3"/>*
    </dataControlUsages>
    </Application>
    After:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8" ?>
    <Application xmlns="http://xmlns.oracle.com/adfm/application"
    version="11.1.1.60.13" id="DataBindings" SeparateXMLFiles="false"
    Package="bpm3.db3" ClientType="Generic">
    <pageMap>
    <page path="/taskDetails1.jspx" usageId="bpm3_db3_taskDetails1PageDef"/>
    </pageMap>
    <pageDefinitionUsages>
    <page id="bpm3_db3_taskDetails1PageDef"
    path="bpm3.db3.pageDefs.taskDetails1PageDef"/>
    </pageDefinitionUsages>
    <dataControlUsages>
    *<dc id="ApproveForm3_ApproveTask3" path="bpm3.db3.ApproveForm3_ApproveTask3"/>*
    </dataControlUsages>
    </Application>
    Really what is changed:
    - <dc id="ApproveForm3_ApproveTask3" path="bpm3.ApproveForm3_ApproveTask3"/>
    + <dc id="ApproveForm3_ApproveTask3" path="bpm3.db3.ApproveForm3_ApproveTask3"/>

  • Starting One of managed server in cluster SOA Suite(11.1.1.4.0) fails

    Oracle Soa Suite (11.1.1.4.0)
    Weblogic (10.3.4).
    Operating System : Red Hat Linux 5.5
    I have installed and configured Oracle Soa Suite (11.1.1.4.0) with 1 Admin Server(host1) and 2 Managed Severs (host1,host2). Deployed wsm-pm (cluster), wsm*.*.seedpolicies* (cluster).
    I was able to start the Admin Server , Started the Node Managers in both (host1) & (host2). I made sure to run the pack & unpack utility from $ORACLE_HOME/oracle_common/common/bin folder while i moved from one host to another.
    Also i ran $ORACLE_HOME/oracle_common/common/bin/./setNMProps.sh on both host1 & host2. Made sureto check on both the nodemanager running on host1 & host2 has "StartScriptEnabled=true".
    Now when i start Managed Server 1 in host1(Admin server run on same host) -- It started just fine.
    When i Started Managed Server 2 in host2 , it started with ADMIN State and i tailed the logs and found the exception below.
    I also made sure the os level permissions are not an issue here. I can see those artifacts in the folder structure mentioned and available. So not sure what am I missing here.
    Any help solving this exception would be appreciated.

    Ravi,
    Thanks for your reply.
    Yes I did pretty standard stuff on pack and unpack. I did the same in SOA Suite 11gR1 PS1 and it works fine.
    I tried to do the same with PS2 which had issues clustering the osb. But soa suite ran fine using nodemanager and startManagedServer.
    I am trying the same procedure and it failed in 11.1.1.4.0 version.
    When i checked the classpath between the managed server on hosta and hostb it looks different.

    I noticed the jar files in both classpath are same , but its denoted different in hosta which runs fine like "@oracle....*.jar" but in hostb its denoted as /data/..../*.jar.
    Not sure if something is missing or should be run between them to work fine.

  • Problem configuring SOA suite to use OID for authentication

    We are in the process of rebuilding our environment to use the full SOA suite with our OID server for authentication (was previously just BPEL using AD directly), and have encountered several problems (below). We have rebuilt the OID server, and reinstalled the SOA suite into a clean ORACLE_HOME to no avail.
    We first rebuilt the OID server using the following steps (derived from Oracle® Internet Directory Administrator's Guide):
    1)     Create the Import and Export profiles for AD synchronization. We did this using the Directory Integration and Provisioning Server Administration tool under “Active Directory Configuration”
    2)     Modify the map file to specify the correct OU mappings between AD and OID.
    3)     Update the profile with the new map file using “dipassistant.bat mp”
    4)     Bootstrap the import profile using “dipassistant.bat bootstrap”
    5)     Start a new instance of the Integration server (odisrv) running on config set 1 (the config set containing the Active Directory import/export profiles) using “oidctl”
    6)     Set the Import profile to Enable. The OID server does not export changes to AD in our current configuration, so the Export profile is left on disable (and not bootstrapped)
    At this point it appears that the AD synchronizes correctly into our new OID server.
    Next we installed the SOA suite:
    1)     We ran “irca.bat” on our database server to create the ORABPEL, ORAESB, and ORAWSM schemas and associated integration repository structure.
    2)     After launching the SOA suite installer, we selected Advanced Install.
    3)     On the next screen, we selected J2EE Server, Web Server, and SOA Suite.
    4)     We then provided the credentials for our Oracle database, and the passwords for ORABPEL, ORAESB, and ORAWSM.
    5)     We configured our new AS instance as an administration instance, but did not opt to use from a separate HTTP server, and did not make this instance part of an OAS cluster topology.
    And finally, we configured our new SOA suite instance to use OID for authentication (using the instructions in Oracle® BPEL Process Manager Administrator's Guide section 2.1.3):
    1)     Used the configure_oid.bat command to seed OID with required users only.
    2)     Logged into the OracleAS Control Console
    3)     Chose the oc4j_soa instance, then Administration->Security->Identity Management
    4)     Configured the OID server using a non-ssl connection and the cn=orcladmin account.
    5)     When prompted, chose to reconfigure all applications in the oc4j_soa instance to OID, but not to use SSO for any of them.
    6)     Copied the contents of ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\home\config\jazn.xml to ORACLE_HOME\j2ee\oc4j_soa\config\jazn.xml
    7)     Restarted the application server.
    After this procedure, we encountered the following issues:
    1)     The BPEL console appears to authenticate users correctly out of OID, but no users have access to the default domain, including bpeladmin and oc4jadmin. All users receive a similar access denied message when attempting to log into the BPEL Admin Console.
    2)     We cannot upload a BPEL process to our new server via JDeveloper’s standard BPEL deployment mechanisms. The connection appears to be working properly and passes all tests, but on uploading a process we get a Java AccessDeniedException. ESB appears to be functioning properly, and accepts uploaded projects without issue.

    Bassman,
    We recently configured our SOA Suite to use OID and SSO. We had the same issues you are having, and we found the resolutions in a blog from Jaas Poot (http://blog.jpoot.com/category/oracle-appserver/oid-ldap/). For the BPEL domain access, this involved going to the data-sources.xml file and changing the database passwords from using ->pwForOrabpel for the orabpel schema and ->pwForOraesb for the oraesb schema to the real passwords; the blog explains more about this.
    The blog also covers the JDeveloper deployment issue, and another issue we encountered, where we couldn't access the BPEL Admin console. All of these were resolved following the steps in the blog.
    Hope this helps
    Candace

    We would like to upgrade Weblogic10.3.3 and SOA Suite  11.1.1.3.0 and have few questions related with upgrade.
    Q-1 Should we upgrade to latest weblogic version WebLogic Server 10.3.6 ?
    Q-2 Do we need to upgrade SOA Suite 11.1.1.6.0 compatible with WebLogic Server 10.3.6 ?
    Q-3 Do we have step by step process for migration ?
    Q-4 Do we need to create new schema for latest version of SOA Suite 11.1.1.6.0 ?
    Q-5 What is the process to copy the existing data from database schema from SOA Suite  11.1.1.3.0 version to new SOA Suite 11.1.1.6.0

    Hi,
    i upgraded the SOA Suite from 11.1.1.4.to 11.1.1.7.

  • Can I install two versions of SOA suite using same Oracle database

    Condition:
    I installed Weblogic server(10.3.5) and SOA Suite(11.1.1.5), and
    I used RCU 11.1.1.5 to create the schemas(Oracle DB 11g-111170) for it.
    Plan:
    Now I plan to install another Weblogic server(10.3.6) and SOA Suite (11.1.1.6)
    and I will used RCU 11.1.1.6 to create the schemas for it.
    Question:
    Can I use same database(Oracle DB 11g-111170) for the two versions of SOA Suite? that is
    Can I Run the RCU 11.1.1.6 to create the schemas for SOA Suite (11.1.1.6) on the oracle database server I already used for SOA Suite 11.1.1.5?
    If I can use same database for the two versions of SOA Suite, how can I resolve schame name conflict?

    Hi
    1. YES. You can absolutely use SAME DB to have multiple Versions of SOA Schemas.
    2. Any SOA/BPM will need basically 4/5 schemas like SOAINFRA, MDS, ORABAM, ORASDPM etc. based on what you choose. And each of these Schemas can be Prefixed. Default prefix is like DEV, so schemas are like DEV_SOAINFRA, DEV_MDS etc
    3. Very Simple. When you Run RCU 11.6 and give the same old db details, in next screen it will automatically show the new Prefix for the schemas it will create. If DEV is used, it will show DEV1 like that. So just choose a Different Prefix and you are good to go.
    I have the same thing on my side. Single Database. Multiple RCU for SOA 11.5 and SOA 11.6 with different Prefixes:
    SOA 11.5 -> DEV115_SOAINFRA, DEV115_MDS, DEV115_ORABAM etc
    SOA 11.6 -> DEV116_SOAINFRA, DEV116_MDS, DEV116_ORABAM etc
    I Used the Prefixes like DEV115, DEV116 so that I know exactly which version of RCU schema they refer to.
    For QC, UAT, PROD we used prefixes like QC_*, UAT_*, PROD_* etc.
    NOTE: When you drop the schemas for some reason, make sure to give the appropriate prefixes so that only they are dropped and not others.
    Thanks

  • BPEL PM, BPM, BPEL in SOA Suite - what's the diff?

    Hi
    I read many blogs, one blog says all are same, other says each is diff. I've got some idea on what each of these offers. But pls clarify.
    I'm really confused of the terminology that oracle uses for BPEL PM, BPM, BPEL in SOA Suite.
    I'm aware of BPEL that comes with the SOA Suite installation, we develop, deploy and maintain BPEL flows using JDev.
    Now, what's this BPEL Process Manager, that is listed in the products section, seperately from SOA Suite? Does it contain anything diff from the BPEL engine that is embedded in SOA Suite?
    And What's Business Process Management(BPM). As far as i know, and could think of, is that BPM is a tool for modelling business applications. It is similar to the BPEL in SOA Suite PLUS Modelling capability of the business process. It even has the same components as in SOA SUite like BPEL, Business Rules, Human Flows, Mediators, Adaptors.
    So, can we say, BPM = SOA Suite + Modelling capabilities of business process.
    To summarise, would you please summarise the components that each of these provide
    BPEL Process Manager -- BPEL, _(and what other componens)_
    SOA SUite -- BPEL, Bus. Rules, Human Flows, Mediators, Adapters
    BPM -- Modelling notations, BPEL, Bus. Rules, Human Flows, Mediators, Adapters
    If BPEL exists in all the three, Is the engine that runs it also the same one in all three..?

    Hi
    1. Yes, your understanding is absolutely correct: BPM = SOA Suite + Modelling capabilities of business process. I hope you know little bit of history behind this BPM product and about BEA and Oracle company. Below is some non-technical information about these companies and the products they owned.
    2. Originally I guess, Oracle had SOA Suite like 10g running on their own Oracle application server. It may have had some basic components like human tasks, mediators some basic business rules etc. During the same time around 2006 to 2008 another company by name BEA has Weblogic Application Server and had another full blown process development applications/software. BEA in turn bought from Plumtree like that. Anyhow they had full stack of products like ALBPM (Aqua Logic Business Process Management), ALUI (Aqua Logic UI Portal), ALDSP (Data Integrator), ALSB (AL Service Bus), ALES (AL Enterprise Security) etc. Then Oracle bought BEA Company and Oracle ended up owning all these products. Oracle spent good amount of money, people and technology and did an awesome job in integrating BEAs ALBPM with their own SOA software and put everything on top of Weblogic Application Server. For a while, soa and bpm existed parallely. Like we can install albpm on top of soa like that. But SOA 11g onwards SOA + BPM are completely integrated and provided as a single product. They are not separate any more. We can call that as SOA Suite or BPM Suite. But as you understand, they had all the stuff to create a full blown process application that includes core BPEL Process, tasks, mediators, adapters, email adapters everything. Customers buy this suite of produt. They can develop simple BPEL Process or complex BPM Applications. The advanced features for BPM you can find online like adding Swimlanes/Roles where we can literally drag and drop the Human Tasks in those roles and that takes care of everything.
    Oracle retained and rebranded other products like ALSB (Oracle Service Bus), ALES (something like identity management) etc .
    In conclusion, your understanding is correct. Now there is only BPM or SOA (use any word) that includes everything and that runs on Weblogic Application Server.

  • Invoking a composite deployed on local install - SOA Suite

    Hi All,
    Morning....need some help with this issue we are facing.
    Currently have installed the SOA Suite 11g locally onto our windows machines , created one domain for the web logic server .have started the servers as well and able to login to the EM console (http://localhost:7001/em) & Admin Console (http://localhost:7001/console) successfully.
    have deployed a bpel process as a composite from the front end using Deploy Applications option into the default SOA partition.
    able to see the composite in the front end in the EM Console, with a valid Service End Point url & wsdl file location
    The bpel process in this composite has a Receive activity where it gets the input payload and processes further
    Now we are trying to trigger this composite from another application by using the END Point URL and and with the input as XML payload message. It is not able to invoke and getting java HTTP related error messages.
    But if the same composite is deployed to SOA Suite Server on the AIX/Linux Install ( instead of local deployment ) and if we try to trigger this process from that same application it works fine..
    1. Now getting what could be the issue with the HTTP related errors we are getting & how this could be resolved.
    2.Also when tried Testing the composite from the EM Console under the Test tab by selecting the option as XML View..it showed up the SOAP envelope and BODY related tags and within that there is one :
    <ns1:input></ns1:input> tag.
    We have the input xml payload in the format as mentioned below:
    <transaction><transaction header><name>abcd</name></transaction header><transaction body><address1>123 street</address1><city>xyz</city></transaction body></transaction>
    when we try to put this exactly within as below : it is erroring out with xpath errors ..
    <ns1:input><transaction><transaction header><name>abcd</name></transaction header><transaction body><address1>123 street</address1><city>xyz</city></transaction body></transaction></ns1:input>
    Could someone please help us as to how we could test this and in exactly what format from the EM Console..how the input payload data should be added..
    Regards

    Options :
    1. Try with SOAPUI by using the endpoint.
    2. Undeploy the process and redeploy, then test it again.
    Thanks,
    Vijay

  • Soa suite on weblogic server 10.0??? URGENT!!!!!

    hi,
    we have a requirement to use ejb3.0 in our project. we are using soa suite on weblogic server 9.2. but weblogic 9.2 is not supporting ejb3.0 ( i guess). so we want to migrate weblogic server form 9.2 to 10.0. my doubt,is Oracle soa suite 10.1.3.3 is compatible with weblogic server 10.0??
    otherwise any alternative??
    please help me out.
    Thanks in advance.

    You are correct - SOA Suite 10.1.3.3 is not certified with WLS 10.x. We are currently in the process of certifying SOA Suite 10.1.3.4 with WLS 10.3.

  • Oracle SOA Suite 11.1.1.5 and weblogic server with OEPE

    Hello
    Where can I find the installers for Oracel SOA Suite 11.1.1.5 and corresponding supported weblogic server with OEPE.
    I want to install this on Debian and on Oracle Solaris 10 both, so better to have generic installers.
    Few months ago, i could find them (2 months ago), but not now anywhere, not even on edelievery.
    Where does oracle store all older version installers?
    Regards

    Hi
    Download wls1035_oepe111172 Generic Version from below link.

  • Error loading wsdl from the OSB in the SOA Suite over https

    Hi,
    We are running SOA Suite 11G R1 PS2. I have created a webservice in the OSB which runs on https://soa-test.myfirm.com/schedule/service/v1. This service works fine. I can test it in the OSB and using SoapUI. Now I want to make use of it in a bpel proces in the SOA Suite so I added the webservice as external reference and pointed it to the the above url. This works...it sees the porttype and all the bindings. But when I want to deploy it, it doesnt compiles and i get the following issue:
    Error(19,30): Load of wsdl "https://soa-test.myfirm.com/schedule/service/v1?wsdl" failed
    Error(29,89): Cannot find Port Type "{http://www.myfirm.com/wsdl/schedule/service}ScheduleServicePortType" for "ScheduleService" in WSDL Manager
    So it seems it cannot load the wsdl. I saw it might be a proxy issue but I dont use a proxy. I can see the wsdl using my browser without proxy settings.
    Does anyone know why it cannot load my wsdl?
    best regards,
    H

    The issue changed to an certificate issue now.
    I get the error:

    I looked in the forum and this could be solved by adding the root CA to the trust keystore of the server. My OSB Managed Server and SOA Managed Server are on the same machine (https://sontprs201.myfirm.com:8888). This machine has a certificate of GoDaddy so i have added the GoDaddy-root and GoDaddy-intermediate as trusted certificates to my certs.jks
    In the weblogic console I set both the managed servers to point to my certs.jks with the correct password and in OSB managed server i setup the SSL with the correct private key alias.
    When i call the OSB service from SoapUI i get the correct 3 certificates back (GD-root, GD-intermediate, sontprs201.myfirm.com), but when I call the OSB service from BPEL I still get the error: Unable to access the following endpoint(s): https://sontprs201.myfirm.com:8888/schedule/service/v1. Unable to find valid certification path.
    Does anybody know what I'm missing or how I can debug this?
    Thanks in advance!
