EM sending email alters too late

Hi,
RDBMS : 10.2
OS :CentOs
I have successfully configured EM and email alerts.
Now I start receiving emails, but it is not sending emails instantly. I observer that it is sending email alters after 10 days of occurrence.
How can I set email frequency to instantly ?

alerts are delivered instantly to your postoffice. The issue is with your postoffice, not with EM.
If you think the delay is with EM, you need to proof whether that is true and/or whether the post offfice delays delivery.
Example: I once had an email going from one floor to another: it tooks 1.5 day.

  • EM sending Email Notifications to late

    Hello at all,
On a test instance with Oracle 11gR2 with Enterprise Manager Database Control I try to activate the Email Notifications in Enterprise Manager, so that I can use them for monitoring.
    So i configured following settings:
Under Setup -> Notification method I gave him a valid mail address with a vaild SMTP server. The test mail was send successfully.
Under Preferences -> General i gave SYS a valid mail address to receive. The execution plan i let in standard configuration, so everytime at everyday i will get an email, when something happenes. the test mail was send successfully too.
Now i created an own rule to test the configuration:
I went to Preferences -> Rules an add an rule. Name and description I named "test" and set "database instance". At availabillity I activated all checkboxed, so i should be informed when the instance goes down, comes up, getting an error, when the error is fixed, when agent is not available, when agebt is available again, when there is a metric error, when the metic error is fixed, when a blackout starts and when it ends.
Metrics, policies and jobs ther wasn't defined anythind in standard, so i let it so and set nothing here.
I activate the checkbox for sending emails to sys and sending repeat emails every 15 minutes 3 times at all.
Now, to test this notification i logged into my testserver and killed the listener process, to see, what will happened. After 1 Hour waiting i didn't get any email, so i restartet the listener. after the listener was startet my outlook was fluted by emails from the server, that the listener was down. But why i didn't get them earlier.
I checked the procedure with the database to, here i get it down by "shutdown abort" and "shutdown immediate". But i get the mails, that the database is down, when its up already. And thats to late!
When I want to use such email notifications for productive servers and someting is going wrong, for that a notifications is configured of course, I want to get the mail directly, when that happened and not, hen the problem is fixed!
For example, here an email from testing, where the listener was down, that i've get at 13:01 :
    Target Name=LISTENER_<hostname>
    Target Type=Listener
    Host=<hostname>
    Metric=Status
    Metric Value=0
    Timestamp=Feb 18, 2013 12:01:58 PM CET
    Severity=Critical
    Message=The listener is down: TNS-12541: TNS:no listener .
    Notification Rule Name=Listener Availability
    Notification Rule Owner=SYSMAN
    Notification Count=1
What can i do here? Does anybody knows a tip or the solution?
    Thanks a lot for help.
    Best regards!

    Thanks for the link.
In the document i read much about directories like: $ORACLE_HOME/oes/admin. My problem here is, that i haven't such directories so i think i'm not using oesmon.
Should i have to use this?
Do you need some log output?

  • Why is new email signal too late?

I'venoticed from the beginning but now it seems to be obvious. I use built in mail app for iMac access to a single account. I terminate mail app every time and workflow is to start fresh instance and push sync button.
New mail is listed without any signal/notification. After I read most of the emails I hear a audio signal which is dedicated to the configured one. So question is why this signal is played not after first new arriving of email instead after a while? As a programmer I would implement it just after retrieving the first mail. All other makes no sense.
The only indication I have is that an additional push of the sync button processes the busy cursor nearly forever. I tried with different mail account on different servers and all processes on second sync attempt forever. So most likely another iPad bug?

I'm trying to create a new account, I put in a new user ID and it said I would be sent a confirmation email hrs ago today. I even had them resend it over a dozen times and even used 2 other emails to no avail.
Why is it taking forever for me to get my account confirmation email for itunes? I did check my spam many times btw on all email accounts and I can't find any email customer service email.
    Thanks
    It could be:
1: iTunes website is under stress and will take longer to send out the confirmation emails, or could have a temporary problem or is having maintenance performed.
2: Sometimes, certain sites won't send emails to a certain email domain. But I would have expected that they would have mention this on the registration process.
The new user ID, the email address you provided for this, is it the same email domain has your old user ID email?
By email domain, I mean for example @googlemail.com

  • Program or script to delay sending emails? - For late night workers

    Hi,
I'm wondering if anyone knows how I can delay sending emails out. Sometimes I am up very early (4am) to work. I don't want these emails going out at such a weird hour so I need to find a way to tell the emails to go out at a specified time (ie. 8am).
I don't think Mail has this option. I heard there are scripts out there but the ones I've tried are all out of date.
Can anyone help? A script OR another decent email program would do

I'm not aware of Mail having this option, either, but you can this this rather easily with iCal.
In iCal, double click on a day, and choose Edit. As you look over the options for the New Event, click the alarm (by default, it says None), and scroll down until you see Email. Of course, you can choose the date and time of the future email according to your needs.

  • Sending emails at a later time

I'll be leaving for a week in Europe, and I won't have much computer access while there, however I'd like to send pre-written emails out telling people what I would be seeing. Is there a way to send pre-written e-mails at a later date and time?
    Thanks for your help

Take a look at Andreas Amann's Mailscripts.

  • After I updated my MacbookPro with a Maverick, my iphoto cannot be used anymore.  Is there a way to send my old iphoto albums to icloud or is it just too late?

I updated my Mac with a Maverick, but my iphoto cannot be used any more  Is there a way to send my old iphoto albums to icloud or is it just too late? My iphoto icon is in my dock, but it's crossed out, and won't operate.

    Hi Barry!
I owe you a proper Thank you! You were right about me needing to update my software. I have been pretty clueless about many of the computer applications I've heard of, but I've learned a bit by doing what you suggested.  I was able to "fix" my iphoto and a I got a few other nice changes after updating the 3 free updates that were available to me.  Thanks so much! - One thing that was so wonderful about getting my iphoto "back" was being able to  share my photos with my Dad for this weekend-during his 88th birthday!
I'm glad I found you in our "community".  Hopefully,  I can learn enough to help others too, eventually.
    All the best to you,

It's not a good idea to use a network disk for both Time Machine backups and other things.  By design Time Machine will eventually consume all the space on its output disk, which will then cause problem for your other files.  I'd store those other files on an external disk connected to the Time Capsule.  The problem with that is that Time Machine will only back up files that are local to your Mac.  That means that you'll only have one copy of the files on or attached to your Time Capsule.
By the way, you've been misled by poor field labeling on this forum into typing a large part of your message into the field intended for the subject.  In the future just type a short summary of your post into that field and type the whole message into the field below that.

Who is your email provider? Have you set up your account manually or was it set up automatically?

  • My privacy questions are wrong and the email it wants to send the answers too is not my email how can I change that

How can I change my privacy questions if the email it sends the answers too is not my email?

Call AppleCare and talk to someone in account security. Sounds like someone has managed to hijack your account.

  • Mail.app sends emails too soon

For the past six months or so, Mail.app has been sending emails while I'm halfway through composing them. I'm not accidentally hitting the Send button, or typing the keyboard shortcut. So I've no idea what's actually doing it. Is anyone else noticing the same bug?

I haven't seen it mentioned here.
Are your mails plain text or RTF? Are you using any apps or widgets that interface with mail (eg new mail announcers)? Does it always happen or only sometimes? What happens if you disconnect from the internet while composing?

  • Upload speed too slow to send emails

Have been having problems sending emails with attachments since 13.08.14.  Been using BT Broadband for 5 years and although speed has never been great, it has worked.  I run a sizeable business with customers all over the world so it is imperitive I am able to send attachments to my emails.  They are never that big but it will not send anything over 210KB and most of mine are around 450KB.  I get a message saying not sent as timed out by server.  My download speed is testing at 1.2 and my upload at 0.2.  Over the past month I have had 5 different openreach engineers here who have all tweeked and fiddled with things, download speed has improved slightly but my actual problem of not being able to send emails has not improved!  Some of these engineers have said that although the BT Wholesale test is stating 0.20 the actual speed is only 0.008.  BT have said this is impossible as the test is 100% accurate.  Today BT have told me that there is nothing they can do so I am guessing I will have to try and go down the mobile broadband route.  Just wondering if anyone had any thoughts, just seems very odd that the problem occurred overnight but is not a fault?

  • Using send email step in workflow

    Hi Experts,
I have a question regarding the send email step in workflow.
We have the Receipient Type as Organizational Object and Expression as &WF_INITIATOR&.
I want to know if the mail will be sent to the SAP email ID (i.e) in SBWP or will be it be sent to the Outlook email ID.
We want to send it to the Outlook email ID of the User. Can you guide us as to how we can do the same.
In some cases, we want to send the notification to both the employee and his manager. Can this be managed through the SEND EMAIL step in the workflow or do we have to explicitly create a method and use a std FM that sends the email to the concerned.
Request your help on the same.
    Cheers,
    Belinda Clarke

    >We are getting the pernr of the employee. We can retrieve his email address for the same. So do we need to pass this to a workflow container and then use that workflow container value in the space provided for the email address.
Yes. It is really up to you how you will develop everything. I personally like to get all the data into the workflow container, because it might be handy later in the life. Let's say that you go on with your custom email sending step and add there the code the get the data that you need in the email. It will work perfectly. But let's say that after six months the HR administrators want to get emails with a bit different content from this same workflow. Now you will need do another custom step. But if you had already all the data in the container you can simply add another standard email step and formulate the text with the editor and add the variables from the workflow container. Easy and simple.
So, my advice is that for example add just add some background step to get all the possible data regarding the employees & leave request & managers or whatever. Now you have everything in the container and you can use them in the email(s) - and you can use them in other places too - for example in the work item texts, etc.

  • Aol receives email but does not send emails.

I was having a problem with my AOL account set up on my droid's and could not send emails out.  I went all over the web and could not find an answer.  I went to Verizon store today and I kid you not an hour later we got it to work.
Go to app menu the lower middle circle triangle
    go to settings
    go to accounts
    click on AOL email
    go to outgoing server
    smtp.aol.com
    port-465
    username
    pass
    and check both squares
use secure connection and verify cert..
I hope this helps someone too!!
    Good luck!

Thanks for that advice, and I'm glad it worked for you.  When I first got the Droid X, I had a problem with my AOL mail not getting to my phone quickly (sometimes it took a day or longer), and occasionally, the mail would not send.  I started using K9 email app from the Market, and the mail gets to me within a few minutes (most times) and I've had no problems sending mail.

  • Is there some Firefox software that I can use to send email to an Apple system?

My brother in Tucson AZ runs an Apple laptop system with an email address supported by hotmail.com. I am running Windows XP and have long been using Thunderbird and Firefox. My brother never receives any email I send to his email address. As a first attempt at being able to establish contact with him via email, is there a patch or other software I can download from Mozilla and incorporate into my Thunderbird software that will allow me to send an "Apple compatible" email to him? He may then find it necessary to do something similar that will allow his system to send email to my Windows XP/Thunderbird software. Thanks for any information.

I had the same problem with my iPad, i couldn't get the newer version of itunes because the computer was too old and my iPad couldnt sync with the old itunes. I got a PC from school a few months later so that solved the problem for me. Unfortunately i don't think there would be a program to put your music on your iPod, iTunes should be the only way to transfer files to Apple devices. What operating system are you running and what version of it is it?

  • Stopped sending emails?

email worked fine until today suddenly will not send?? Receiving ok --
I've only had this a few days - email worked fine until today too late to get apple support.
    thank you in advance...

    Hi,
I had a similar problem on my IPhone and finally fixed it.
To keep this short and sweet try this.
1.Delete your account off the IPhone
    2. Recreate your account ( BUT ) *Do Not Choose*
    your Email Server.....GMAIL.....YAHOO...AOL...ect
    3. Choose ( Other )
    4. No matter what messages might come up if any, just hit save.
    5. Be sure when you come to the *smtp settings* where it says *USER NAME* and PASSWORD ( OPTIONAL ) put those in there unless your email server doesn't require them.
Save your account and then send yourself a test email.
This is the only way I got my email to work again on my IPhone.
Choosing *GMail didn't fix my problem* so I figured on my third attempt at
recreating my account on the IPhone I had nothing to loose by choosing ( OTHER )
    It simply worked.
If your using a POP setup this should work fine I don't know about IMAP.
I apologize if I wasn't very clear I'm not real great at explaining things but I try.
    Hope this works for you.
