EM12 - Self-Update problem.  Stuck with 'download in progress' state..

I just setup EM 12 and I'm having an issue with the self update. I attempted to download the linux 32bit agent in online mode. It ran for a few minutes than failed. The problem is self update thinks it's still in download progress even tho the job failed. I even deleted the job after it failed. It's still in "Download in progress.." state.
So I decided to download the .sar file manually and to install it in offline mode using emcli. So when I use emcli import_update to install the .sar file I get "Entity already exists". Same resulsts even when using "-force". The entity actually doesn't exist, it was never downloaded.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

  • SP1 Cumulative update 4 stuck on "Downloading information"

    I have a server that is attempting to install the SP1 CU4 update for SCCM 2012 client but never succeeds. If you go into the Software Center on the machine, the status is continually stuck at "Downloading information".
    I tried to force it by copying the installation package to the server and running the command line option specified in the package properties (msiexec.exe /p configmgr2012ac-sp1-kb2922875-x64.msp /L*v %TEMP%\configmgr2012ac-sp1-kb2922875-x64.msp.LOG /q REINSTALL=ALL
    REINSTALLMODE=mous). The installation ran and appears to have been applied successfully (the version of the client shown in Control Panel --> Configuration Manager Properties went from 5.00.7804.1000 to 5.00.7804.1500) and the Software Center icon
    went away afterwards.
    I was just finishing up congratulating myself when I received a notification from the Software Center again that software was being installed. I opened up Software Center, and there it was again - SP1 CU4 stuck at "Downloading information".
    I've rebooted several times, but Software Center continues to pop up every time with same status.
    One thing I should note, I recently migrated my SCCM server to new hardware and this "problem server" was installed after the migration. Prior to that, all of my other servers received the SP1 CU4 without issue. Both servers (SCCM and
    problem server) are Windows Server 2012 R2.

    Thanks for the reply Anoop.
    I checked the logs mentioned in the article, and everything looks fine as far as I can tell up until "Step 5: Tracking the Content Download."
    In the "DataTransferService" log, there are numerous error messages:
    [CCMHTTP] ERROR: URL=http://server.domain.local:80/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/RIC00009, Port=80, Options=224, Code=0, Text=CCM_E_BAD_HTTP_STATUS_CODE
    Error sending DAV request. HTTP code 404, status 'Not Found'
    GetDirectoryList_HTTP('http://server.domain.local:80/SMS_DP_SMSPKG$/RIC00009') failed with code 0x87d0027e.
    So looks like I have an IIS problem? I opened IIS Manager, and browsed to the directory on the DP server. In that directory, I see several other directories (DataLib, FileLib, PkgLib). I assume my package information should be in the "PkgLib" folder, but
    inside that folder are just four .INI files (RIC00001.INI, RIC00002.INI, etc). There is no RIC00009.INI file, maybe that's my problem?
    I also went into Config Mgr Console --> Administration --> Distribution Points, went to the properties of my Distribution Point, then to the "Content" tab, highlighted my package and clicked "Validate". Not sure though what this accomplishes.

  • Please fix.  Cannot download the update.  Stuck with a dead app with projects I don't want to lose

    I'm not the only one with this problem. Is it ever going to get fixed?

    Reset your device. Make sure you have at least 2Gb of free space on it. Try the upgrade again, ideally by connecting your device to a copy of iTunes your device normally syncs with that already has the updated app, otherwise a strong Wi-Fi connection hooked up to fast broadband router.

    My daughter was updating iTunes with ASU and we lost power. Now the download gets to about 11MB, gets stuck, and never finishes. It will sit at 11MB forever. I've tried deleting the files in the installer caches, I've tried repairing ASU.

  • IPad 2 and ios5 update problem(stuck in recovery mode)

    Hi,
    I have been trying to upgrade to ios 5 on my ipad2 and have had a couple of failures (the same as most people have had).
    i tried running it once more and it went beyond the validating install with apple part and then i recieved and error code 3004 and my ipad is now stuck in
    recovery mode,all i have on my screen is the itunes logo and usb cable.
    In itunes it only gives me an option of restoring to factory settings. if i look in itunes preferences and backups it gives my last one as 18.33 but it isnt there
    i really am at a loss as to what to do next.
    Any help will be gratefully recieved  Regards Adrian

    Here's how I fixed this on my MacBook Pro.
    With your device connected, in iTunes, Option-click the Restore button.
    You'll be asked to select the file to use to Restore. Go To Folder (Command-Shift-G): ~/Library/iTunes/
    then into the proper "XYZ Software Updates" folder ("iPad Software Updates" for example), you'll find the file to use to update.
    If you have more than one, select the one that ends with "5.0_9A334_Restore.ipsw".
    This resolved the "internal error occurred" I had with my iPad 2.
    Make sure you read the warnings that pop up during the process; this will remove everything you have on your device, so you'll need a working backup, or a way to sync your data.
    Good luck.

  • SCCM Windows Updates - Client stuck on Downloading but never finishes

    I am running SCCM 2007 with 200 clients.  I have been sucessfully performing windows updates through SCCM without an issue for about 6 months.  Recently I approved updates released in March and most of the updates installed ok, but there are two, KB938464 and KB958690, which sit on status Downloading for hours until the desktop is switched off at night.  The times reach 14 hours on some machines.
    I have tried to cancel the updates by removing them from the Advertisements and from the Deployment packages but they still try to run everyday on 167 of 200 desktops.  If I manually go to Windows Update and install the updates the issue goes away, however, you can imagine my unwillingness to do this across 167 stations if I can avoid it.
    How can I do one or both of the following:
    A) Cancel the updates so they no longer want to run on the clients
    B) Fix the issue so the updates download properly.
    The process that I use to approve and deploy updates:
    Under Site Database -> Computer Management -> Software Updates
    I select the updates I want to deploy and add them to a new update list.  I place a check into the box to download the files associated to the updates.
    Once the update list is built I select to deploy the updates, give it a name that represents the update period
    I select a template that deploys but suppresses restart in the updates.
    I select a deployment package, the same one I used for all my past updates
    Download from the Internet
    English
    Schedule
    Finish.
    This has worked sucessfully for months.
    Thank you for any help that can be offered.

  • Update Problem - Join With Another Table

    I'm trying to convert few MS Access Queries into Oracle. Following is one of the query from MS Access.
    <font face="courier">
    UPDATE [RESULT] INNER JOIN [MASTER]
        ON ([RESULT].[LAST_NAME] = [MASTER].[LAST_NAME])
       AND ([RESULT].[FIRST_NAME] = [MASTER].[FIRST_NAME])
       AND ([RESULT].[DOCUMENT_NUMBER] = [MASTER].[DOCUMENT_NUMBER])
       AND ([RESULT].[BATCH_ID] = [MASTER].[LEAD_ID])
    SET [MASTER].[CLOSURE_REASON] = "Closed For Name and Document Number Match",
        [MASTER].[RESULT_ID] = [RESULT].[ID],
        [MASTER].[RESULT_PID] = [RESULT].[PID]
    WHERE (([MASTER].[CLOSURE_REASON] Is Null)
       AND ([MASTER].[REC_CODE] = "A1")
       AND ([RESULT].[EVENT_DATE] = [MASTER].[EVENT_DATE])
       AND ([RESULT].[EVENT_TYPE] = "Open")
       AND ([MASTER].[DOCUMENT_NUMBER] Is Not Null)
       AND ([MASTER].[DOCUMENT_NUMBER)] "null"));
    </font>
    First I received ORA-01779: cannot modify a column which maps to a non key-preserved table Error. I followed different examples (including MERGE) from your
    site and modified my original query. Now, I receive ORA-30926: unable to get a stable set of rows in the source tables Error.
    Most of the examples showed only one join between the tables but I have to make more joins based on my requirements.
    Any help translating this query in to Oracle would be Great. Thanks!

    Assuming that the columns you are joining to in the result table are the whole PK or are declared as aunique contraint (i.e. some combination of last_name, first_name, document_number, batch_id, event_date, id, and pid make up the entire PK/unique constraint), then the updateable join view should look something like:
    update (select m.last_name, m.first_name, m.document_number, m.lead_id,
                   m.closure_reason, m.result_id, r.id, m.result_pid, r.pid
            from master m
               join result r
                  on r.last_name = m.last_name and
                     r.first_name = m.first_name and
                     r.document_number = m.document_number and
                     r.batch_id = m.lead_id and
                     r.event_date = m.event_date
            where m.closure_reason is null and
                  m.rec_code = 'A1' and
                  r.event_type = 'Open' and
                  m.document_number is not null and
                  m.document_number != 'null')
    set closure_reason = 'Closed For Name and Document Number Match',
        result_id = id,
        result_pid = pidThe merge version would look something like:
    merge into master
       using (select last_name, first_name, document_number, batch_id,
                     event_date, id, pid
              from result
              where event_type = 'Open') r
       on (r.last_name = m.last_name and
           r.first_name = m.first_name and
           r.document_number = m.document_number and
           r.batch_id = m.lead_id and
           r.event_date = m.event_date)
       when mathed then
          update
          set closure_reason = 'Closed For Name and Document Number Match',
              result_id = id,
              result_pid = pid
          where m.closure_reason is null and
                m.rec_code = 'A1' and
                m.document_number is not null and
                m.document_number != 'null';However, as Hoek pointed out, the combination of last_name, first_name, document_number, batch_id, event_date, id, and pid must point to a unique row in the result table, whether they make up the PK or a unique constraint. If there are, or could be, multiple rows for a particular combination of last_name, first_name, document_number, batch_id, event_date, id, and pid, then you will need to find a way to determine which of those rows should be used to do the update.

  • Driver update problems with GTX 760

    Hi all,
    I have PC with Intel DH87MC MB, i7-4770 CPU and MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC video card installed. Samsung P2350 monitor is connected via DVI.
    When I first installed it, I got newest drivers for video card (320.49) at this time and everything was working ok. Later I got notifications about new drivers and there my troubles started. Every time I try update driver to newer one (334.89 for example), my display goes off during installation process and never comes back on. I have to turn off my PC, start it in safe mode, uninstall driver, boot to windows and install that 320.49 driver again. I've updated MB BIOS and drivers, but situation is same every time.
    What to try next?
    Thanks,
    Zebediejus

    Hi, sorry for late answer. This doesn't work too. I tried uninstall from safe mode, even deleted folders from program files. After installing new drivers (335.23) and reboot, got same problem - monitor goes off while windows are booting.
    After this tried other way - again uninstalled everything from safe mode, booted in normal mode, installed old drivers (320.49) from DVD, rebooted - everything is working fine. Then I tried to "update" existing drivers with downloaded ones. Immediately after "Installing graphics driver..." message is shown, screen goes off, but installation continues (I see it by blinking HDD activity led). After reboot monitor is staying off until I remove drivers from safe mode. So, now I am back on 320.49 from my DVD. Any other suggestions where problem can be?
    Thanks,
    Zebediejus

  • Installation Problems, Permissions Problems, SW Update Problems, Solved

    I'm posting here to relate some problems I've had and how I ultimately solved them, in the hope that it might help somebody.
    The following relates to OS 10.5.4 on an imac PPC 1.8.
    It started (at least the first symptom I noticed was) with Super Duper not working to auto-clone my drive, because the first thing SD does before running a clone job is to repair permissions on the subject drive. The repair permissions task failed with "the underlying task failed" error.
    So I tried the manually repair permissions from Disk Utility and got the same "the underlying task failed" error. It's a bit alarming not to be able to repair permissions. I tried a reboot, no change. This persisted for at least a week as I didn't have time to aggressively go after it.
    Then I purchased DiskWarrior (again - owned it years ago in Sys 9 days), as in my experience that was the "if all else fails" fix for everything directory-related. I booted from another blessed drive (do people still say that anymore? lol, showing my age) and ran DW on the drive in question. Sure enough DW found and fixed about 150 problems. Great I think, reboot from the original drive, run Disk Utility, repair permissions...nope! Same error. What now? I checked the console installer log for more and all the errors looked like "failure to write" permission type errors. Grr.
    Verify Disk ran OK. I checked the SMART status and it was OK, as I was by now worrying about the physical drive.
    Then along comes the 10.5.5 incremental update in Software Update and I get the following error: "The Installer could not install some files in "/" check permissions". Doh! Same thing with the Java update. Since I can't repair permissions I'm stuck.
    So now I have only one course of action (well maybe there were others, but this is what I did) which was to do an Archive and Install. My OS X DVD is 10.5.0 so that is what I got of course when I reinstalled.
    Running Disk Utility after the A&I allowed me to repair permissions successfully. Some progress. But now I had a slew of updates to get back to the present version of everything. Most installed successfully, except the 10.5.5 combo update. For that I got "package contents could not be validated". Rats.
    So I decided (after reading here about SW update problems especially with combos) to manually download the 10.5.5 combo. For some reason running SW Update under 10.5.0 gave me download rates of 32kb/s, where I am used to 1.1MB/s. Projected download time 3 hrs....no way! So I booted back to my 10.5.4 clone and downloaded the 612MB at normal speed there. I downloaded the 10.5.1 incremental as well just in case.
    Finally I was able to run the 10.5.5 combo (manually downloaded) successfully. Check Disk Utility and repair permissions...all good. Run SW Update and get the Java update, all good.
    Deep breath. Phew.
    So there you have it. I was able to fix it all. I probably didn't need to buy DW (but it's so great I'm ok with that) as I conclude now that the A&I ultimately was the real fix. It was a very frustrating experience though, especially with SW update giving me a bad download.
    I'm hoping that this post might now show up in searches and help somebody out there.
    Cheers
    G

    I don't think you have either of those kernels... as they don't exist.  I assume you meant that you are using 3.10.5 and supposedly have 3.10.6 installed.  You issue is a bit of a catch 22, as you are unable to mount the ESP (no vfat module matching your running kernel), yet mounting the ESP would be required in order to properly udpate.  I imagine that you actually have the correct kernel as /boot/vmlinuz-linux.  But whatever mechanism you use to copy it from that location to the ESP didn't work.
    You are going to have to boot from live media, and fix this from a chroot.  Please search around for how to do this, as this information is all over the place.
    Looks like I'm in for a treat. I chroot-ed, did a full upgrade in case there was an even newer kernel (and there was, 3.10.7). After the upgrade I copied /boot/vmlinuz-linux, /boot/initramfs-linux.img and /boot/initramfs-linux-fallback.img to /boot/efi/EFI/arch/ renaming the files vmlinuz-arch.efi, initramfs-arch.img, initramfs-arch-fallback.img respectively. I unmounted everything and rebooted. Now reFINd freezes as soon as it tries to boot Arch.

  • Software Updates in DMZ BITS download hangs

    Hi guys,
    i am running into a strange problem when deploying software updates to a DMZ system without internet access.
    Here are some facts about the environment:
    1 Primary Site: W2k8 R2 / SCCM 2012
    1 DMZ system (mgmt Point, sup, dp)  W2k8R2 (SQL replication, manual wsus replication) SSL Must be used
    The DMZ mgmt Point is not able to download Software Updates. They are listed in the Software Center but they persist with downloading at 0%. Application packages are working fine. Just the SW Update get stuck.
    The Boundaries are OK, there are no "IIS request filtering files" inside the updates (e.g just scep definitions), the DP ist up to date, iis bindings are correct (if i install the client certificate in the internet explorer i am able to access the DP.
    I already reinstalled the client and created new deployments.
    It would be really great if you have some ideas what the problem could be?
    Here are some parts of the logs:
    it is very strange that "internetproxy.log" looks for a proxy even if the server is the DP itself.

    thank you very much for your help!!
    best regards
    Philipp

    Hi Philipp,
    I am having this same problem...software updates are stuck at downloading 0% for "internet" DMZ/Workgroup SCCM 2012 clients that communicate with DP/MP in an untrusted forest (no internet access). Normal software packages/programs/task sequences can
    download and install successfully.
    SCCM 2012 SP1 with CU1 running on Windows Server 2012 on all site servers and site system servers. SQL 2012 SP1 on site servers. Clients using PKI certs. MP and DP using HTTPS with PKI certs.
    Similarities are that there is a 207 in the IIS log file when the client attempts to download the update. The rest of the logs aren't very useful because they just stop logging and the client sits in a "downloading 0%" state.
    Did you ever resolve the problem? Is anyone else having this problem?
    Thanks, appreciate any help I can get.
    Darren
