EM12cR2 - how to clean up old agent core directories after upgrade?

Running EM12cR2+PSU1 on Linux x86-64.
Does anybody know the recommended/supported/correct way to remove old versions of the EM12c agent core directories on managed servers after the agents have been upgraded to EM12cR2? This isn't a huge issue, but I've been setting up my agents on small (2GB) dedicated volumes and I won't have enough space available for the next round of upgrades unless I get the old stuff cleared out.
I have one server that was added to the environment after my EM12cR2 upgrade, and several servers that were already being monitored before the upgrade. The servers where I upgraded the agents after installing EM12cR2 all still have copies of the agent base core/12.1.0.1.0 directory along with the new agent base core/12.1.0.2.0 directory. I've tried removing this directory and bouncing the agent, but the agent gets blocked since it apparently cannot locate some files it expects to find. Other than being rejected by the OMS, the agent appears to function fine. I can only unblock the agent successfully if I put the 12.1.0.1.0 directory back in place.
Here's what I'm seeing on an upgraded agent:
/oraagent> du -sh agent12c
1.5G    agent12c
/oraagent> ls agent12c/core
12.1.0.1.0  12.1.0.2.0
/oraagent> du -sh agent12c/core/*
626M    agent12c/core/12.1.0.1.0
534M    agent12c/core/12.1.0.2.0

/oraagent> ls agent12c/core

</HOME>The agent upgrades were all performed through the agent upgrade console without incident. The OMS server itself also contains both 12.1.0.1.0 and 12.1.0.2.0 in the agent base core directory. The fact that the agent on the server that never had 12.1.0.1.0 installed is working fine would seem to indicate that the 12.1.0.1.0 binaries aren't required for proper functionality, but I'm just not clear on how to remove them. I would like to avoid losing the targets monitored by these agents and having to recreate them and their jobs and so on.
Any thoughts? Has anybody else had the same issue occur in their environment?

If you are talking about the target agent upgrade to 12.1.0.2 and there is core dir left behind then you can delete only the contents of the $AGENT_BASE_DIR/core/12.1.0.1.0 directory and make sure that
the directory $AGENT_BASE_DIR/core/12.1.0.1.0 exists
Just FYI: for next EM release, we have a proper feature: sign off process where all dangling old oracle homes, their disk foot pints plus oms side artifacts, for upgraded agents can be removed.
The Upgrade guide is also getting updated with same information, should be live in next 2-3 days. We have told the same to come of our customer like AT&T, Fedility ..etc
I would also like to share information on the thread:
Re: How to delete 12.1.0.1 OMS Home when it contains the 12.1.0.2 agent s/w?
The script/steps to move the agent home from old middleware home to new one while doing the Oms upgrade from 12.1.0.1 to 12.1.0.2 is also ready. We also provided this script to one of our customer and they verified this script ( works for them :) )
How to Migrate the AGENT BASE DIRECTORY under Middleware Home to another location outside the Middleware Home? (Doc ID 1520010.1)
Again upgrade guide is getting updated with this note number

    How do I copy the Mac OS Lion after upgrading. I upgraded to OS Lion and now I want to do clean install because my macbook became slower since i installed lion.
    Please, help! Thanks.

    You need to get on a Snow Leopard system, log into the App Store with your Apple ID, then download the Lion installer. The re-download is free. After the installer is downloaded it will start automatically. Now, quit the installer. You can now make a copy of the installer that you will find in the Applications folder.
    Now, you also may be able to get this to work: Open the App Store application. Hold down the OPTION key while clicking on the Purchases icon in the toolbar. This is supposed to activate the Install button to the right of your Lion purchase entry. Clicking the Install button will then re-download the Lion installer.

    Hi, Did you work out a fix for this?  All my calender dates (past & future) and the last 12 months of new contacts gone!!!!   And yes i too back up regularly.
    Previously when the great 5 upgrade happened, i did loss everything, and although I was doing backups none of that info was relative in an English way. A whole life of important, unreplaceable information gone!  Never to be found.
    All of my products are apple, but it seems that little people dont matter to them, with no recourse for the damage to my personal or professional life.
    Extremly disappointed again!

    How do I restore all my photos? After upgrading my iPhone, all my photos were gone.

    What photos?
    Photos taken with the iphone should be imported to your computer regularly as with any digital camera, most especially before any update or restore.  If you failed to do this, then they are likely gone.  You can try restoring from backup.
    Photos synced from your computer should still be on your computer an in you regular backup copy of your computer.

  • How do I manually sort reminders in iCal after upgrade to 10.7.2

    I used to use the iCal "To do" list to have an ordered list of things I needed to do. I would choose to sort manually (by right clicking in the to do area) and then I could drag the items into the order I wanted to do them.
    After upgrading to OS 10.7.2, "To do"s has become reminders and although the option to sort manually is still there. It doesn't work. The syncing with my iphone would be great, but without the ability to order a big list it's pretty much useless to me.
    Anyone know how to get this back?

    The newest Version 5.0.1 (1547.4) of iCal, for Mac OSX Lion (Version 10.7.2), has the Sort Manually option for Reminders. As stated in the preceding reply, however, this option is not available in the iCloud Calendar. Therein lies the problem, apparently.
    Yesterday, I was on the phone with Apple Support for an nearly two hours, trying to get to the bottom of this issue. Not knowing the answer, the first person I talked to referred me to someone in the iApps department. The person in the iApps department could not resolve the problem either. So, I was referred to a senior technician in that department. After a lengthy diagnosis, this person confirmed that this is a system-wide problem in which the function is missing. The case was forwarded to the engineers, and I will be notified when they have a response.
    Once, I get the response, I will update this discussion thread.

    Your photos should be backed up on your computer's hard drive, and that hard drive should be backed up to another medium. If you have a camera, you don't keep all your photos in it, do you?

  • How do I go back to Snow Leopard after upgrading to Mountain Lion ?

    After upgrading from Snow Loepard to Mountain Lion, a key piece of Firewire equipment (a Tascam FW-1082) no longer works. The computer (and Logic Pro) doesn't show that it's even connected now !? The manufacture no longer produces or support's it, so a driver upgrade is out of the question. HELP !!! I want to ditch Mountain Lion and go back to Snow Leopard . . . I don't have a Time Machine image to go back to, I just want to know How best to re-install Snow Leopard from the upgrade disk I purchased, or even get my Macbook back to how it was the day I bought it and then once again upgrade to Snow Leopard. Many THANKS !!!

    You'll need to erase your disk. Be sure to create a backup.
    Use SuperDuper or CCC. If you purchased the retail SL upgrade you can use that, but you'll sill need your original install disks for your iLife apps. After that on the first boot of the new system, in Setup Assistant choose to migrate only your user from the clone.
    If the backward migration presents any problems, you can do it over and just drag your own data manually. Then you have to re-install any other software you purchased.

  • How to clean off old IPOD

    I purchased my daughter a new IPOD last December(06)
    I would like to clean off her old IPOD and to give to my nephew. Is there a way to do that....I still have the original box and software for it so I thought I could pass it on...
    Also if he doesn't want the Ipod does anyone know if Apple buys back old IPODS to refurbish....
    Thank you

    Connect it t the computer, open iTunes and click Restore to erase the iPod.
    *does anyone know if Apple buys back old IPODS to refurbish...*
    No they do not.
    If you go to an Apple retail store, they will give you 10% off a new iPod when turning in an old one.

    Hope You can help,
    Thanks a lot,
    Yuri Avdoshin

    Hello Yuri,
    Is "CodCons" 'key' column for the rowset ?.
    For the column type, an attempt is made to convert the column value you pass to the column's java type (AttributeDef java type).
    Here is an example, I tried with Emp table. Note I search by the key column Empno and I search by passing Number and then a String. Both returns true.
    // using oracle.jbo.domain.Number
    Object searchFor = new oracle.jbo.domain.Number(7369);
    boolean found = srs.findRow( new String[]{"Empno"}, new Object[]{searchFor});
    System.out.println("search for : " + searchFor.toString() + " : " + found);
    // string
    searchFor = "7499";
    found = srs.findRow( new String[]{"Empno"}, new Object[]{searchFor});
    System.out.println("search for : " + searchFor.toString() + " : " + found);
    HTH,
    Sathish.

  • How can I access old Time Machine backups after restoring from Time Machine?

    Just restored my iMac and I can only see "Now" when I enter Time Machine. How can I see all the backups and dates I had before I restored?

    While in Time Machine, press the key combination shift-command-C. The front window will show all mounted volumes. All snapshots should now be accessible. Select the one you want and navigate to the files you want to restore.

  • How do I make my HP CM2320fxi compatible after upgrading to maverick?

    I am unable to access my scanner, and when printing, the result is sketchy. The printer jams and/or misprints the document, but the technician reports this does not happen in his workshop... only when I use my imac, so clearly there is incompatibility as it worked fine on Snow leopard.
    Is there any way that this upgrade can be made compatible with the hp multifunction printer CM2320?
    Surely Apple could ensure that their upgrades ship with the necessary drivers, or at least warn their customers ?

    caviat wrote:

    I can sympathize with your frustration, but it's not Mavericks that needs to be made compatible with your printer, it's the other way around. It's not Apple's responsibility to write drivers for HP printers. It's HP's responsibility to write drivers for their own hardware.
    The Mavericks beta was out for about six months before the commercial release, which was plenty of time for HP to get their act together and write a driver for your printer. But they didn't. This is called "churning the market" or "planned obsolescence" and is a way for HP to try to get you to buy a new printer. This seems like it would encourage you to buy a printer from someone else, but these corporate guys are not Rhodes scholars. Your printer came out almost 6 years ago.
    Surely Apple could ensure that their upgrades ship with the necessary drivers, or at least warn their customers ?
    Mavericks already has the capability to automatically download the appropriate drivers for printers and scanners from Apple, but Apple gets these drivers from the printer and scanner manufacturers. If there's no driver from the manufacturer (see "churning the market" and "planned obsolescence" above), then there's no driver. Also, if you're going to use a computer then you probably should have been aware that every new OS, no matter what the platform, has some bugs, and some incompatabilities with older software and hardware. This is how the universe works. If you have some mission-critical piece of software or hardware, then check first. This is also why one should have a backup of the old OS before installing the new.
    Anyway, try uninstalling any HP scanning software that you might be using and try using Image Capture instead. It's in Applications.
    VueScan might work: VueScan Scanner Software for Windows, Mac OS X and Linux

  • How to restore calendar items from Entourage 2008 after upgrade to Lion (10.7.5)?

    I held off upgrading to Lion because I had a bunch of old email I wanted to convert first. But now that Apple is no longer offering security updates for Snow Leopard, I decided to take the plunge. Unfortunately, after the Lion upgrade most of my calendar items in Entourage 2008 disappeared (and those that remained appeared in duplicate).
    I think I should be able to access an uncorrupted version of my Main Identity folder for Office 2008 … because I have an Automator workflow that creates a daily backup, and that backup should be available through Time Machine. I turned off Time Machine after this calamity so that I wouldn't overwrite my Entourage Backup folder.
    I need the July 8 or 9 version of:  ~ / Documents / Entourage Backup / Main Identity.
    But when I select the Entourage Backup folder and open Time Machine, all the Finder windows behind the current one go dark and I can't move backward toward an earlier date (I've done this with Time Machine turned off and on). This makes me think the Entourage Backup folder has not been getting backed up recently, or perhaps ever. Ugh.
    When I check my Time Machine preferences, only the following items are shown as excluded from backups:
    So it seems I should be in the clear and able to access Entourage Backup.
    Any idea what I'm doing wrong in trying to restore from Time Machine? Or anything else I might be doing wrong?
    Many thanks.

    When I check my Time Machine preferences, only the following items are shown as excluded from backups:
    Not sure how any of this relates to a Time Capsule....one of the hardware products that we support in this forum.....but we will try to help.
    Main Identity is located as follows on your Mac:
    Macintosh HD > Documents > Microsoft User Data > Office 2008 Identities > Main Indentity
    Unfortunately, you have been excluding Microsoft User Data from your backups, so there is nothing to recover or restore.
