Email image attachment problem

I have an 8300 curve and when I attach an email from my device to send out, it converts to image to a .vcf file when others get it.  I am using a Novell Groupwise email system on a BES server that is pushing to my device.  I can send and recieve emails all day, but when I attach a photo I take with the phone and attach to the outgoing device email....it sends as a .vcf not a photo attachment.....
anyone else have this issue??  AT&T BB tech support said my 8300 curve was setup correctly and all configurations were set to send image attachments.
I can recieve an image and view it on my device from another persons account

I don' have the demo folder currently. Any sample code that can be posted here?
I tried
if(disposition == null){
//do this for emails with no attachment
else if (disp.equalsIgnoreCase(Part.ATTACHMENT)){
//do this with attachments
else{
out.println("invalid");
But it still can't work. The (disp == null) seems to pass in all values for both emails with attachments or no attachments....Why??

  • 5.0.1 email image cache problems

    I have two different email accounts that I check on my iPhone 4 with the 5.0.1 update. One is a Google account. The other is a private account. I receive images from a remote security system at a warehouse I monitor when motion is triggered. The device sends 3 images to both accounts. When I open my email on my Mac laptop or desktop, I can see the current images just fine, but whenI view them on my iPhone, it sends what appears to be an old cached version of the image on both accounts. If I compare the emails on the computer, timestamps, image numbers, etc., it is obvious that my desktop and laptop are working correctly, but the iPhone email accounts are not displaying the images correctly. When I view on the iPhone with the new update, I get a reating old image no matter how many times the alarm is triggered. It is like the image was an old cache version from days ago set on a loop that it cannot get past. I experienced NO problems prior to the update. Any suggestions on how to clear the cache on iPhone email if there is such a thing?

    I did receive a response and they did elevate it to their top engineers within 3 days. Bottom line...they are blaming Apple and said Apple needs to fix it.  Here is the reply to my post when I submitted my problem to Q-See.

    I have the QT-428 system. Recently, Apple Inc. did some updates to their iPhone (iOS 5) and Mac Mail programs. As a result, images sent from QT-428 camera's no longer display correctly in Mac Mail. Instead of 3 attachments, it displays as 1 attachment with 3 individual images. However, the images are ALL exactly the same. There are no time lapsed images. If you view in other programs such as Gmail in a web browser, the images come across as 3 individual attachments. I have spent several hours on the phone with Apple Tech support and have elevated the issue to their engineers, however, they believe the problem MIGHT be an issue relating to the Meta Data in the emails. I wanted to make your organization aware of this as there is actually considerable discussions on Apple's web boards about the issue and only Q-See camera systems appear to be affected. Other users with different camera systems are not experiencing any problems. Thanks for your time.

  • Email image attachment preview (pre Photoshop) is different than image file

    I saved an image from the web to my desktop, which I then tried to attach to an email. I selected the file in the finder, but an earlier pre-Photoshop version of the image came up as the preview. How is this possible?
    In this case, the saved image was a picture of 3 clones of the same person. The preview showed only one of that person (no evidence of Photoshop effects)

    You have not provided any information that would allow troubleshooting.

  • Possible to alter email image attachment size interpretations?

    I often have occasion to attach large images to emails.  The pop-up in the lower right corner of email composer windows could be useful if it was more specific or if I could customize it.
    It's "Large" setting usually either crunches images to be what I would consider small, or leaves them very close to the size I begin with, depending on how compressed my images are.  Both "Medium" and "Small" virtually always make attachments far too tiny for my purposes.
    If not a "standard" way of doing this, I wondered if anybody knows a way to alter what "Small", "Medium", and "Large" mean.

    What those settings produce will depend upon the initial file you attach.  What is the source of these files, and file type?

  • Mail attachment image caching problem with C7

    Using C7-00 and Mail for Exchange with up to date software. I received two Mobile Boarding Pass emails from Lufthansa for my flights. These emails contain barcode.gif as an attachment that one can show at the gate when boarding. Now the two emails contain attachment with same name (barcode.gif) and the images are equal in size too. The problem is that for the second mail the phone shows the attachment of the first email!
    I have read that Symbian^3 has for performance reasons aggressive image caching feature. But in this case this causes a real nasty bug!
     - Juha

    I have found a solution.
    In the IMG src tag we had been using /images/gfx/image.gif
    By changing this to /./images/gfx/image.gif the images are no longer cached and update immediately when changed.

  • New document: How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems

    Have you ever had problems with PDF attachments sent from Adobe Reader for iOS using Share > E-mail Document?
    You may find this document useful to avoid the problems.
    How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems
    Please let us know if you have encountered different types of problems with PDF attachments.  We can look for solutions or workarounds for you.

    Unfortunately, we (Adobe Reader mobile team) do not know if/when Apple will fix the attachment problems (software defects) in Apple Mail.
    In particular, the attachment problem with Microsoft Outlook (See Problem #2 in How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems) appears to be a long-standing defect that has been known for years.  However, Apple has not provided any fix for Apple Mail yet.
    Adobe Reader for iOS merely launches Apple Mail (the default mail app on iOS) to send a PDF document as an attachment.  Adobe Reader has no control over whether or not to embed a preview image of an attachment in the body of an email message, which is known to cause the problem with Microsoft Outlook (on the receiving side).  The same problem happens when you send a single-page PDF document as an attachment along with an email signature from Apple iBooks on iOS.
    For now, all iPad/iPhone users can do is to avoid the problems by using the workarounds that are described in How to avoid known PDF email attachment problems.
    When new and different problems with PDF attachments are reported by Adobe Reader for iOS users, we will update the document above.
    Sorry for the inconvenience.

  • PC Users cannot read the JPG images attached to my emails

    Several users of PC's, running Vista or Win 7, have difficulties to read the JPG images attached to my emails. All they see is an endless list of numbers and signs (in fact the binary data of the image).
    The problem can only be solved by zipping the images.
    is this due to a setup option in MAIL, or do you know how to solve this issue?
    Patrick

    If I had to guess, I would bet that your images do not have a ".jpg" or ".jpeg" extension on the end. This is how PCs identify the file - and Macs, too, these days, unfortunately. You also should make sure that Edit -> Attachments -> Always Send Windows-Friendly Attachments is checked.

  • Turning off image attachment previews in emails

    How do you turn off in Apple Mail 4 the ability to not preview attached imgaes in Apple Mail?
    I have lots of emails coming through to me with images attached and it just slows thinks down having to preview them inside the email very time.

    I assume you mean that you are accessing your Gmail as IMAP, but since it can be either, please confirm which? If as IMAP, then what are your selections in Mail Preferences/Accounts/Advanced regarding keeping copies of messages and their attachments for Offline viewing? This would have an impact on how much response time is needed to read a message with large attachments. Otherwise, it should not take any time to display a message, even with many photo files?
    There is not a way to turn off View In Place before displaying the message.

  • Problem in sending email with attachment more than 32kb through utl_mail

    Hi friends
    I am able to send an email with attachment upto 32kb using utl_mail.
    But whenever I increase the size of attachment from 32kb, it prompts me an error.
    ===============================================
    ORA-20001: The following error has occured:
    ORA-06502: PL/SQL: numeric or value error: character string buffer too small

    i have also used LONG RAW instead of RAW, bu still the problem is same.
    please help me in solving this issue.
    Thanks in advance,
    Ankur

    Yeah that's an issue with UTL_MAIL it only has 3 procedures, and none of them let you send data to the SMTP server incrementally. To send files larger than 32k you will need to switch over to using UTL_SMTP directly or via a helper package such as the [DEMO_MAIL package|http://www.oracle.com/technology/sample_code/tech/pl_sql/htdocs/Utl_Smtp_Sample.html] available from otn.
