Email is a joke

Verizon email the worst I've ever experienced. It's HORRIBLE. Just getting into the mailbox takes multiple sign-ins. Then, when I try to delete anytihng, guess what? IT DOESN'T DELETE. 
So, I don't use Verizon email. I use gmail. This email is like something from AOL in 1995!! And your website is a joke. It's clunky, slow, and not user-friendly. If I get sick enough of Verizon, after my contract I'm returning to Comcast. VERIZON GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER ALREADY AND QUIT BEING A JOKE. This isn't 1995 anymore. Hire some people who can actually be of service to your customers--that is--if you're going to continue with this ridiculous farce of being an email provider. Right now, you're just the WORST.

Just to make sure I get "the joke," I gather that you don't like VZ email, but then you don't use VZ email anyway.  You use Gmail.  Does this mean that you really want to make sure that readers here know that you don't like VZ email?   If so, we get it.
You intend to switch to Comcast.  When you do so, are you giving up on Gmail?  Are you then switching to Comcast web mail?
In short, what exactly would you like the volunteers who write to these boards to help you with?  Believe me, there are many experienced and well-intentioned folks here who will go out of their way to help, but you must present an issue that they can address.

  • While I'm asleep for the night my iphone sends weird emails to my contacts!?

    So while I am sleeping, my Iphone 4 is sending out emails from my account to my contacts. Each email I have never heard of before, not personal ones- more like spam. I always stayed logged in through my email app. Do I have a virus or something on my phone? HELP!?

    Need a bit more info to try and figure out the problem. What email are you using, and is it logged on from any other location? Such as a pc? Is it google active sync or microsoft exchange?
    If you're using active sync or exchange, keep in mind that it syncs all of your emails including outgoing emails. So if an email was sent from your pc or the web, it also gets stored on your phone as sent mail.
    To be safe, I would suggest you change your email password to make sure that no one else is logging into your account and sending emails as a joke.
    There aren't any known viruses for the iphone, or atleast none that I've heard of.

  • Hate Verizon Email

    I have been a verizon customer for many years for my internet service provider. Years ago when I signed up, I did not use the verizon email system for my personal email. Among others, I have used Yahoo, Runbox and MSN as my primary email. Last year, I decided to combine all the emails and just use two. Verizon for professional emails, and LIVE (hotmail) for friends and non-professional emails such as jokes and friend converstations. Everyday, more and more, I regret doing this.
    Verizon's email system is the worst email system I have experienced since I have gotten a PC more than 20 years.
    Although there are too many reasons why I feel this way to list, among the top reasons are:
    It is extremely slow to load.
    I recieve "users undefined" when trying to send an email after I have typed it.
    I revieve "please select one email to delete" when trying to delete an email that has been selected.
    I receive an error message when trying to delete more than one message at a time.
    Attachments are very slow to upload.
    I must constantly hit the refresh button to see emails or read them.
    Attachments forwarded to me from another person are not there, just a read "X".
    I have none of these problems with my LIVE (hotmail) account.
    AM I THE ONLY PERSON HAVING THESE PROBLEMS??????????
    Come on verizon, you are a big company.....get with technology and fix these problems.

    If you used email for 20 years, than you should now about email client's.  Go back to one if you hate verizon webmail.  You can  also consider using another free webmail such as GMAIL and Microsoft's Hotmail. 
    The Windows Live mail suports running as a client and as a Webmail service.

  • Is this a joke, complain by Email ?

    After calling customer services and getting wonderful call centre staff trying to guess what I'm saying and then me trying to guess their replies, I have written three letters of complaint to customer services in Tyne and Wear. I have had three replies full of platitudes and sorrow at my dissatisfaction but no meaningful answers. These letters and replies took about 6 weeks. So in todays electronic communication I asked in order to speed things up could I have an email address. The answer was " no if we gave out email addresses lots more customers would complain". It seems if EE make it harder to make a complaint so less of their customers will bother. So a company which specializes in electronic communications cannot handle compaints made though this communication method for fear of being overrun. I need to go and buy some more stamps.

    The form to send an email is ridiculous. It asks for my email, but says what I entered is wrong.
    It wants a valid daytime phone numer. I try both of mine (cell and home) and neither work.
    It also wants some 4 digit passcode or last four digits of SS#. Doesn't like any of them.
    Honestly, once I'm logged in I should have to enter that much information.
    Garbage.

  • Voice memo won't sync!! and won't let me email either!

    believe me, i've got all settings correct.
    I've been using voice memo for a long time and now for the first time it just won't sync at all
    i've noticed lately that sometimes the voice memo doesn't sync,
    I thought I operated wrongly, synced the iphone again, and was able to get the memos out.
    BUT NOT THIS TIME
    it's like permanently stopped working
    I've got an important lecture in there and have to get it out asap
    why doesn't apple even allow users to email large memos over wifi at least!??
    this is really upsetting and disappointing
    I seriously don't understand apple's logic on this

    I was typing an email and liked the autocorrect function, auto spacing...
    BUT there are no text formatting options whatsoever??
    There is no undo button??
    There is no attachment capability..only pics.?? No PDF, word, excel??

    Sorry I ain't done yet. My trigger happy go lucky phone send the message at a flash. I tried to work around the none formatting issue using the word in the office but as I could not get it to work as expected within reasonable amount of time and number of tries I gave up. If you format a phrase and copy it it just copies the last format and ignores the copied formatting. Plus how do you make the f. Keyboard go away easily? Why internet has no forward arrow, only back! Is this some kind of joke? Why when texting can't you move back and forth with arrows, just the stupid cursor. NO undo function????? Elementary mr Watson, elementary. +You have to be an oracle to guess when an app will close when u hit the back arrow rather than go back!! Apps must not close like that. Pretty disheartening. Pretty pretty for a good looking phone like this.
    And to be honest I am not going to buy a new phone for another three to four years come hell. Unless wify breaks my old one she uses now and I give her the brick.

  • 3 months left with Verizon. Eligable upgrade is a joke & 'm sick of Verizon & its lies & pricing

    First of all, I was a happy Alltel customer. Happy with my plan, my service, my reception etc. Then Verizon took over my reception became mediocre, and then I accepted a job offer in New Bern, NC. From the day I got here, I had problems with my reception and service. I could not have a conversation with my family 4 hours away with out multiple dropped calls or poor reception. Both areas were in the red areas which meant that there was coverage and plenty of it. Finally after numerous calls to Customer Service and numerous visits to the New Bern Verizon store we were told by Verizon that the only way we could solve this problem was to upgrade to a Verizon brand phone. We upgraded from a Samsung Hue to a LG ENV 3. We were also told that we could not keep our Alltel plan family share 1000 minutes and unlimited text. We had to upgrade to a 1400 family share plan with unlimited text which was about a $30.00 a month increase. But it was the lowest plan we could get and keep our 10 friends & family plan. We also added a phone for our son, since we were in a new area and felt he needed to have one in the event of an emergency. Okay so we thought our dilemma was over.
    Then shortly after wards we were getting charged for data usage. I would talk to Verizon customer service and question why there were multiple data charges when we did not use data. I was basically shrugged off by customer service every time I brought it up. Finally I called when I noticed that there was a data charge on my phone that I did not make, I remembered that day clearly and I hadn't used my phone all day. Even the bill reflected that day no calls were made or received. Long story short after a year of being charged here and there on each of the phones I finally totaled my bills up and took it to the New Bern Corporate store. The store employees were not helpful and frankly didn't want to waste their time with me. I asked to speak to the manager, Kendall Greenhill, who blatantly asked why I waited a year to come to them. I told him that I had been complaining for year and no one, no one was taking care of it. He was unhelpful and didn't want to hear it. I asked why there were people who were in the same boat as me not using data, but being charged that I read this and heard this on the news and why was I different? After several hours of my time and being talked down to, I walked out without any resolution. It took another week and I did finally get a 40.00 credit from Customer Service, so.. another dilemma finally after a year of complaining.. finally over.
    NOW... here is the new problem with Verizon. I have a little over 3 months to go on my 2 year contract, I have been flooded with text messages, emails etc regarding upgrading our phones. I wasn't planning on upgrading, but I unfortunately left my cell phone on the shelve in the bathroom and on vibrate, and when my alarm went off, it vibrated itself right into the toilet this past weekend. SO- I figure okay.. time to upgrade, and if I am going to do one, I might as well do 2 if not all 3 phones. EXCEPT.. all the feature phones that are offered to me are not in the same league as the ENV 3 they are a downgrade in quality.. and so I look at the Smart phones, well they require a 30.00 data package for each one. OMG. I am already paying 155.00 a month for 3 phones 1400 family share & unlimited text . That would clearly make my bill well over 250.00 a month. In this economy, I really need a phone that is decent and the plan cost to be affordable. That being said, I have also seen the need for the usage of internet on the phone at times. And if we are going to upgrade why do a lateral switch on a phone when all the normal cell phones are being phased out and smart phones and androids are becoming more common?
    Why get a phone just to replace what I lost and be locked into another 2 years and not be able to take advantage of the newer phones?
    Well after my unfortunate accident with my phone, I had decided to check in the offers I have received recently and in past months, I normally keep all my emails from Verizon and put them in my Verizon Mail Folder, or if I have a offer that we find appealing or information that is useful we will just bookmark it to our Verizon Folder. I had such an offer back during the winter, and at the time we were not eligible for an phone upgrade, it is the Talk and Text Plus Data Promo. There were 2 plans, one was the for Single lines the other Family SharePlans.

But why is the link still active? The ad clearly has no offer ends date, no expiration date..regardless, again my husband called both the Customer Service and then Kendall Greenhill the manager at the New Bern store. Both were very unhelpful and acted as if they cared less.
    My husband was directed to call the loyalty department who basically twisted what my husband said and called him liar and round about ways and accused him of just now opening up old Verizon Emails. That we could not get that promo it was expired.... All this when my husband was trying to make the sarcastic rep understand that this was a offer we have saved in our bookmarks and there was NO experation date at all. The Loyalty rep again was making my husband out to be a liar by saying there was 3 pages with detail information of it's experation date.

    After a heated conversation, in front of the Verizon authorized dealer in New Bern, we went in and spoke to a representative Tammy (who was helpful and nice). She looked at our promo and called customer service and spoke to a supervisor named Sharon, who after researching the information told her to direct us back to the Verizon Corp Store, that they were authorized to give us the promo andthat she would note our account and have them check it and they would take care of us.
    We did as we were told, we drove to the store, and Scott (bad problems before with him) was the salesperson who talked to us. We told him about the conversation with Tammy and what the supervisor Sharon told us and he remembered over hearing Kendall Greenhill's conversation earlier that day and checked our account and claimed there were no notes and that they couldn't authorize this promotion even if they were told to. My husband immediately called customer service from his cell phone and the person he spoke to saw the notes on the computer. We asked Scott to call Customer Service and double check. Lets just say, the store again was unhelpful and would not go one blink out of their way to try to resolve this. We drove back to the authorized dealer, and spoke to Tammy again, who called again, and after a lengthy conversation with a woman named Martina Williams,(who is the only Verizon Rep on the phone that seemed to care and was nice) she has put in a request to accept this offer. So we have to wait to see if our offer is “acceptable”. And that is where I stand right now. I am so upset at the lengths my husband and I have to go through with Verizon. My thing is that if you go the store, and the loaf bread has a sale sign on it for 99 cents and the cashier rings it up at 3.00 shouldn't she honor the price of 99 cents?     Tomorrow night we might go to the Verizon store but if we do it will be in Morehead City or Greenville NC which is 45 minutes away(More gas $ and time). Why? Because Every since we have lived here in New Bern. The reps at the New Bern Corporate Store has always been unhelpful or rude. And I'll be D%MM if we will deal with them anymore!!! Our quality of customer service experience with Verizon since day one has been awful and to deal with the local New Bern store just amplifies the pain. Since Saturday we have put in countless hours on the phone & internet and multiple trips to Verizon. Who pays us for our time and troubles? Yet Verizon , all they care about is the $$$ and not customer service.
    Maybe I should just order a crap used phone from ebay. Finish our contract with Verizon and when October comes switch to ATT and get 3 (better selection) smart phones with just enough data on each phone, the same 1400.00 minutes and unlimited text and all calls (ALL) to cellphones are free for 160.00 a month plus tax...

    I have been having issues with my phone. The problems started after only having my brand new phone for 2 months. I called customer service and they tried resetting my phone. Unfortunately, that didn't fix it. I thought I could live with the phone with its problems until it got worse. I am having to take out the battery several times daily to restart the phone. My phone charger suddenly stopped working and my text messages would not come through without taking out the battery. It reboots when I unlock my phone. It randomly shuts off. The battery life does not last even when it's fully charged. I took my phone to my local Verizon store looking for help. The representative was disrespectful, refused to talk to the Verizon customer service rep on the phone, and threatened me. I left the store crying. When I got home, I called Verizon customer service and after 2 days I still don't have a solution. They don't have the replacement phone in stock. I was told it could be up to 6 months before the new shipment. I have never seen such horrible customer service. My contract with Verizon has over a year left and I just want a working smartphone (which is what I paid for). My boyfriend wants to cancel our contract because we can't get any satisfaction from Verizon.

    Seems pretty clear to me. Even though they do not give an expiration date, it is certainly implied that it will expire at some point. If they give you the deal, then great. If they don't give you the deal, though, it seems that you are just crying for something that you don't deserve and that Verizon has no obligation to provide for you.

  • TS3694 I have over 700 songs in my I tunes library - but when i go to sync the songs to my I pod, it only syncs 60 of these songs. how can I get my entire library to sync to my ipod. now some of these songs were built in my library under a different email

    i have over 700 songs in my i tunes which are from 2 different emails --- when i go to sync my music it will only sync 60 songs. how can I get it to sync all my songs. I now have a different email that my ipod is under. does that make difference? I dont remember what my password was from my old i tunes email 3 years ago.???? i called apple and was on the phone with them for over 2 hours - no joke and they could not figure it out.

    I have tried everything I have read on the Internet about sync issues and restore etc and not there isn't a single song on my iPad or iPod touch. All of the songs are listed in my iTunes but are all greyed out, some have the cloud symbol next to them but lots don't and some say waiting.
    Long and short is nothing will save to my devices at all.....HELP !!!!!!!?

  • Apple ID will not accept email address

    PLEASE HELP ME BEFORE I GO SPARE!!!!
    Have updated my iPad to latest OS. When turning on for first time it is asking for my Apple ID and password. Enter these and fine to move on (noting that my Apple ID here is NOT my email address).
    Next screen is called "Update Apple ID" and asks for an email address. I put in my email address that is linked to my account when using the "appleid.apple.com" website, but it now complains and will not let me continue. Error message is: "Try another Apple ID. This Apple ID is already being used. If this is your account, reset a forgotten password at iforgot.apple.com"
    There seems no way around this. I have been through the reset password that was suggested, but only thing I've been able to achieve is now having a password that is different to all other ones I use and will now most likely get forgotten!  Even through the "appleid.apple.com" it will not let me change my Apple ID to my email address as it states that it is already in use (call me stupid, but I know it's in use, it me!!).
    So I'm completely stuck in a closed loop with no escape. HELP!!!!!
    "if" I had previously created a user with my email address, then surely the system would not have allowed me to set my email address to be the same as that other user. However, I don't recollect creating that user, and what's more, I cannot log in to that account as I can't guess the password. I've even tried getting the system to send me a reset password for that account, but it then simply resets MY password for MY account, which, as mentioned above, is beyond a joke.
    Apple need to get their heads around passwords / email addresses / apple id's - if they have tightened up the security policies, then there are some loose ends that need correcting. I can't even see anywhere that would let me delete an unwanted apple id account.
    Does anyone have any ideas on how to fix this?

    Not trying to step on Philly's toes on this one - but If Philly's suggestion doesn't work, I would contact Apple. There have been a few reports of this Apple ID problem after updating the iOS in the past few days. Personally, I don't get it. If the Apple ID worked before the update, there is no reason why it should not work after the update.

  • How to prevent kids getting into all my apps and email?

    One flaw with the iPad is that its so cool the kids want to play with it. But there's no real - or practical - way for me to prevent them from opening my work emails, my shopping apps, etc. I think it's a usability issue for Apple to assume that the person picking it up is always the owner. The Restrictions option is a joke.
    It doesn't recognize all of my apps, so I can't adjust their settings. The first thing I did was install Chrome and my teenage son can do whatever he wants on it.
    Then the kids can open, browse and respond to emails in my Enterprise work account.
    My preference would have been the ability to create user accounts as with the PC to make sure they can't purchase $300 of stuff on Amazon when I'm not looking.
    Any ideas?

    You can prevent use of your email account by going to Settings>Mail>The mail account in question and turning that account off. The go to Settings>General>Restrictions and turn on the Restriction that prevents changing accounts. To acess the account yo will have to turn off that Restriction. Restrictions are passcode protected.

    ... AFAIC Location Services is a joke.
    With both devices sitting side by side on my kitchen table, Location Services has NEVER shown the devices to be any where close to each other, and at times Location Services has been as much as a 1/4 of a mile off between the two devices.
    Your iPod Touch has no GPS receiver so determining its location relies upon wireless routers whose location is known. Its "location" is actually that of a wireless router. Your iPhone 4 can use GPS, cellular triangulation, and Wi-Fi. One would think GPS would be most accurate but urban areas have a greater density of cells and GPS signals are easily obstructed so cellular triangulation is often more accurate.
    Therefore the two devices' locations can be expected to be different. Differences of a quarter mile are easily explained if you understand how location services works: http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1975

    Location Services is not a "joke"; its intended use is for basic navigation and for such applications as determining where the nearest restaurant is. It cannot tell you that your iPod is under the couch cushions and that your iPhone is in the car.

  • Forwarding Emails as inline text

    Everytime I want to forward an email that has say cartoons in it or multiple images, like a joke - it recipient gets the images as individual attachments. How can I avoid this? I want the reciepient to get the email looking EXACTLY as I see it. With all the images/ text within the BODY of the email. Is this a setting/preference I can change???????????

    Check in Mail preferences at Composing, if the "Composing: Message Format" is set to PlainText, If so, change the setting to Rich Text.

  • Why can't I add additional email addresses to my Apple ID?

    In my family we share the same Apple ID.
    However, we would like to be able to use iMessage and Facetime amongst the different units (iPhones/iPads), which requires me to have several email addresses registered under the Apple ID, as all units (ie. the iPads) do not have associated phone numbers.
    However, when I add them directly under Settings -> Facetime/iMessage -> Add Another Email it gives me an error (unspecified - it just says an error occured), when it tries to verify my email.
    I then figured that I needed to have all these different email addresses registered to my Apple ID we all are using. Hence I went to appleid.apple.com and signed in to manage my Apple ID. I tried adding additional email addresses under "Add Email Address". But when I push "Save Changes" after having added another email address nothing happens. It just sits there.
    I have tried several different browsers on different Macs and even on the iPad, but all with the same result.
    Can anybody help?

    I was able to get my MobileMe email address verified tonight...  I logged into the Manage Apple ID website with my MobileMe email address and it again said it's own email address wasn't Verified.  So I tried, for the **** of it, to add an additional Alternate Email Address and added the MobileMe email address for which I was logged in as.  It immediately took the email and marked it verified with the green check mark.  The only thing, my MobileMe.com email address shows up as the Primary and then again listed under the Alternates.  I tried deleting the one listed under the alternate but it doesn't go away.  I'm just trilled it's now verified and I can log in and use my MobileMe email address in the iMessage, FaceTime and Find My Friends services!
    I still cannot, however, delete my MobileMe email address that's still listed as an un-Verified alternate on my old iTunes Apple ID, but it's not affecting the fact that my MobileMe email address is NOW verified on my MobileMe Apple ID!
    So all is finally working now, after a week, and after being on Apple's Express Lane Chat and to the store's Genius Bar on Thursday 10/20 which were both a joke.
