Email issues with Yahoo

For the past few days I have been getting an error message on my iPhone when trying to access my Yahoo email POP account.  the error says "invalid ID or Password".  But I double checked and they are correct.  Anyone else having issues?
The problem resolved itself for two days and is back again today.  I have made no changes.
I have no trouble getting email from the same account on my Macbook Pro.

I had a very similar problem with my iPhone. When I took to the Apple Store, they completely deleted the account and then recreated it again. Once they did that it started working. I asked why and was told that some time something in the account gets corrupted. so deleting the account and creating it again new get rid of the corruption.

  • IPad Email issues with the new iOs4

Well I guess downloading and being the first one to use these software rollouts is not a great idea. I have an iPad with WiFi and 3G. I rely heavily on my iPad for email. Here are the issues that I can concur with other users:
    1. Main email account sometimes sends email and sometimes gets hung up. If I switch off the wifi and turn it back on or 3G it will send out. If I cc a copy to myself it sometimes winds up in a spam folder. This is a Yahoo email account.
The solution: open the Yahoo email account in Safari and view as a web page. To send emails shut the wifi off and turn it on see if that "reboots" the email.
Apple must come up with an email fix to this ASAP -- it is possible there is a compatibility issue with Yahoo and the new iOS4 or the Mobile Me that I downloaded
    2. Email in the "drafts" folder cannot be sent or moved to the "inbox" to resend when ready
    3. Emails being sent to my Yahoo account are received

Response to hils26, 11/25/10: I am having ongoing issues of a similar nature. For lack of a better word, I would describe it as "leeching". Before upgrading to ios4, my drafts were being readdressed to an addressee in the next saved draft; sometimes the subject line was changed as well (subject of the next saved draft). Before I noticed, I had sent several personal emails to an unintended addressee.
Now I find that the subjects are being changed in my inbox emails. I cannot even describe the strange emails I find in my yahoo inbox and sent folders...they appear to be spam offers sent to myself and several others from my address book.
This is not only potentially embarrassing; the security breach can affect business conducted via email...which is the primary use for my iPad.
Is this happening to anyone else?

  • Having issues with Yahoo mail on ios4 on a 3GS

Is anyone else experiencing issues with Yahoo mail on their 3GS after the upgrade to ios4?? Keep getting an imap server error, but gmail works fine.

Same problem. I have two Yahoo! Mail accounts. One stopped sending mail, while the other was fine. (Both could receive, however.) To solve that, I deleted the problematic account from the phone and reinstalled it. It worked... until I synced by iPhone with iTunes. Now both Yahoo! Mail accounts will not work, and deleting them and reinstalling them does nothing.
Apple had better fix this. (Or I'll whine louder.)

  • Issues with Yahoo Mu

Has anyone been able to resolve the issue with Yahoo Music and not being able to transfer songs to their Zen Micro or other devices? I have done every software and firmware update listed and reformted my zen micro numerous times but I stil get the error message saying "Device transfer license not found" or something along those lines. Thanks in advance

I have an xtra and a micro.
My xtra works great with the Yahoo! Music Unlimited client but not my micro; with the micro, it mostly hangs.
A work around is to import the Yahoo! tracks into Microsoft Windows Media Player (WMP) and use it to transfer tracks to the micro; it's fast and doesn't hang at all.
WMP doesn't have the excellent playlist support that the Yahoo! client has but, oh well, it works.

  • Re: Email issue with BT Yahoo

I have had problems with email not working internittedly for the last few months. I amusing Windows mail on Vista and Windows mail live on a laptop. woth have worked satisfactory but evry now and again they start demanding verification and then not accepting the answers. For example>-
Yesterday i closed down my windows 7  This morning after start up I opened live mail and it demanded my username and password but would not accept them.. I tried Desktop Help roubleshooter,it  told me thati did have a Mail programme! and sent me back to the beginning again in every decreasing circles. I gave up. When I came back after a couple of hours. without switching off. Low and behold it worked again and downloaded the new mail. saying
This is certainly, a server problem,  and from what people have been saying it is related to the tie up with Yahoo.  perhaps the Email server suffers overload! what evr is the cause  it is causing BT harm and time they did something about it instead of sitting on their hands

Yahoo's mail servers have been flaky for a long time.  I'm frequently finding that the connection fails the first time I try to download main after starting the PC, but generally succeeds if I re-try.
I'm not aware of any solution.

  • Palm Centro Issue With Yahoo Mail Plus POP via Versamail

I have a Palm Centro and have been using Versamail for 3 1/2 years with my Yahoo Mail Plus account via POP. On September 12th I stopped having the ability to send or receive POP email on my Yahoo Mail Plus account. I have spoken with Sprint & Yahoo. I have done all the steps they have asked and I have even gone as far as replacing my phone with another Palm Centro and still have the same issue. I know the config is correct as it was working for so long. I can use my Gmail POP in Versamail fine. I receive the error when setting up the Yahoo Mail Plus account in Versamail when I click on "Test Settings" I receive the following... "Error connecting to server. Please check your network or server settings and re-sync." Does anyone have any ideas about this? Thanks.
    Post relates to: Centro (Sprint)

actually some e-mail providers like yahoo free account, msn mail and free hot mail does not work with the mail application, as you told me that it needs to enable the pop server for such mail
and about the iphone are you sure that ur using the mail application in iphone, you must be using safari to browse through ur mails
yahoo mail plus is compatible with the mail application but it comes for a price so here you could either use safari to go through your mail or go in for some other free account like AOL which will work with the mail application

  • IPhone 6/iOS 8 email issues with wifi connection

    Hi
I have just upgraded from an iPhone 4 (iOS 7) to an iPhone 6 (iOS 8) and am having an issue with my pop email account. I used my iPhone 4 backup to set up new iPhone, so all the settings were as they were in my old phone. I have two email accounts, one is an IMAP account and the other is a POP account (which is my main email), I have no problems connecting to the server and downloading emails when connected via 4G (its super fast), but when I am connected via wifi, the POP account takes ages to connect to the server and check for emails (stuck on checking for email). I can speed up the process by closing mail app completely and reopening, then it checks and downloads really quickly (IMAP account has no problems), but this is frankly a pain.
I have spent ages on the phone with Apple support, who have got me to delete my POP email account twice, reset network settings, reset the phone using on/off button and home button, all to no avail. They are intent on telling me it's my email service providers fault, but as I pointed out there is no issue on 4G and my old iPhone (using iOS 7) on wifi has no issues, so can't be email provider. I have also tried using Apple's wifi in store to rule out router issue and the problem happened there too.
Have now run out of suggestions and options. I'm not sure if it's the phone itself, either a hardware or software issue (Apple support think not). Someone told me that it could be the wifi on my phone blocking the connection to the server. I have an appointment booked at the genius brand they have suggested wiping the phone and setting up as a new phone to see if the problem occurs, but this seems a bit drastic and I would lose all messages etc. Any help would be appreciated.

I have solved the issue! I tried my pop account on other devices with iOS 8 and the same thing happened, so I deduced that the issue is a glitch in iOS 8 with wifi and pop accounts. I managed to get hold of the IMAP settings for my email provider and all seems to be well. Happy days!

  • Email issues with PC users

I am a web project manager and email daily with both PC & Apple users. I use Apple Mail as my default program. I have had countless issues with the formatting of my email appearing differently to PC users on Outlook when sending or forwarding Rich Text emails. I try to stick with plain text but sometimes Rich Text is required.
My current issue is orphan "B" characters are appearing through out the body of my email text when sending or forwarding Rich Text emails to PC users. This is NOT visible at all in my Apple mail program. This does not occur in plain text. I recently switched to sending in UTF-8 format - could this be the issue and if so what is the best solution.
I am interested in feedback on the best way to efficiently communicate with PC users using mail and what the appropriate configurations to do so would be. I really don't want to have to switch from Apple mail to use another program but when dealing with co-workers and clients who are not tolerant of these errors I must find a solution.
Thanks in advance to anyone that can help!

  • Firefox Web Browser connectivity and email issues with Comcast connection

I have been having an issue with Firefox conecting through Comcast both to xfinity home and especially to email for the past 2 to 3 months. I finally solved the problem. Comcast requires no proxy setting. To solve the problem go to Firefox Tools, click on Options, click on the tab Advanced. Click on Settings, the check the box for "No proxy". Click Ok. And that did it! Am I glad. Reading email was getting very tedious with all the waiting.

  • Browser and email issues with OS 10.9.4

Had a problem that I thought had been solved.  See thread here: Just installed OSX 10.9.4 - have browser and email issues
Now a week or so later, it's back.  Same symptoms.  I have followed the procedure posted by Linc Davis.  Anybody have further ideas?
    Don Hutchins

If you are using Safari, try going to Safari/Preferences/Advanced and set the develop menu to show. Go to the develop menu and select Empty Caches.
If that doesn't work, Safari/Reset Safari/Remove all web site data.
    For Mail, try:
    Do a backup.
    Quit Mail.
Go to Finder and select your user/home folder. With that Finder window as the front window, either select Finder/View/Show View options or go command - J.  When the View options opens, check ’Show Library Folder’. That should make your user library folder visible in your user/home folder. Go to Library/Containers/com.apple.mail.  Move the folder com.apple.mail to your desktop. You must move the entire folder, not just the contents.
Restart, re-launch Mail and test. If the problem is solved, recreate any required Mail settings and import any emails you want to save from the folder on the desktop. You can then put the folder in the Trash. If the problem remains, return the folder to where you got it replacing the one that is there.

  • Using a personal email address with Yahoo Mail

I have a premium Yahoo Mail account which allows me to receive mail from an external account (one with an address that does not end in yahoo.com) and send mail as that account as well (so my recipients never see a yahoo.com email address or otherwise know I use yahoo mail).
When I set up the account on my iPhone, I can browse and read my mail fine, but I can't figure out how to send mail using my preferred address. All my outgoing mail from the iPhone has the yahoo.com address. I can't find a place to put my preferred address - if I put it into the address field, then the Mail client can no longer sign in to Yahoo Mail because this is also my account name with Yahoo.
What I need is a place to indicate an email address for new messages which is different than the account name, but I can't find it.
Is this possible to do? How should I set it up?
    Thanks,
    Frank

    It is not possible.

  • Email issues with iP4, Cox Communications

So I convinced my mother to get an iPhone 4 yesterday, and I have been setting it up for her.
She has Cox Communications (omaha, ne) email, and the AT&T guy told me it should be easy to set up her email on the phone.
I set it up with her name, email, password, etc on the phone, but the phone wouldnt download any messages to the inbox?
It can recieve the emails I send as tests, but it wont recieve messages from my dad or others that show up in her outlook on her computer.
I went to the Apple store here in omaha, but he just deleted the account and reset it up and the problem still is there.  we logged on to the webmail version of the email, and it was also empty.  But she still had messages on her Outlook on her computer, but they wouldnt transfer to the phone.
She can still recieve my emails from both my own iphone and macbook.
I am totally at a loss.  The Apple guy who helped us could send her an email and it showed up (on both the Outlook and the iPhone), but no other messages will.  He said it was probably an issue with Cox, and to call them.  But when I called them earlier (first step to try to resolve the issue, before driving out to the Apple store), they just gave me the servers for incoming and outgoing, along with ports, and they said to go to Apple if it still didnt work.  Then I had the Apple guy direct me back to Cox.
I'm getting the run around, and no solutions.
    Any help?

Note this procedure may be a little different depending on the version of Outlook.
Open Outlook.  Click "Tools" on the top menu bar.  Select "Account Setting".  Click on the name of the account.(on the "E-Mail" tab). Click on "Change".  Click on "More Settings".  Click on the "Advanced" tab.  If not checked, click on the check box for "Leave a copy of the message on the server"

    Hi How Yee,
Which version of UCCX/IPIVR you are using and what is the type of license? Because this feature is only supported with Premium License. Please check the UCCX data sheet from the below link.

  • Email issue with password change

I recently had to change my email password.  Now I can't get mail on my IPad.  When I go to settings under mail, contacts, calendars, it is not highlighted and will not let me open it.  I have the same issue with messages and facetime not being highlighted.  My email works fine on all other devices, including my iphone.

Do you currently have Settings > General > Restrictions > Accounts (under the 'allow changes' heading) set to 'Don't Allow Changes' ? If you do then change it to 'Allow Changes'

  • Email issue with ISP - advice appreciated

We seem to be having a strange issue with email and our ISP.
Using OS-X mail, all patched up and on the latest versions of everything. Every two or three months email stops working with no warning, errors or notification. The ISP says that we have been blocked due to excessive failed password attempts, even though it's been working for two months and no passwords have been changed.
The only way around this is to have the ISP unblock the ipaddress and on the local system delete the ISP certificates from Keychain (login) access, although on one occasion when the ISP was being particularly slow, simply deleting the certificates did the trick.
I'm not getting anywhere with the ISP - I am unable to get past first line support and pre-formatted answers telling me how to reset my passwords and what combination of numbers, letters and characters make up a good password. (Nativespace in case you're wondering!)
Advice appreciated. "Leave Nativespace" is already being considered,
    thanks and regards
    Simon

Meant to say, the certificates are up to date and haven't expired when the email fails.
My system has several email accounts going through the same server at the ISP - sometimes they all fail, sometimes only one or two.
