Email Not Being Deleted From iPhone When Deleted On Other Devices...

This seems to be the opposite of what most people are asking...
If I delete an email on any device (iPhone, Mac Mail on desktop, web interface), it get’s moved to the proper trash folder on all those devices.  The deleted message is syncing properly which means my IMAP settings are correct (i.e, if I delete the message on my Mac using Mac Mail, it will show up in the trash folder on the iPhone).  However, when I “empty trash” on my desktop, the trash is not removed from my iPhone but it is removed from the server and Mac Mail.
And conversely, if I delete the email from the trash on my iPhone, it is deleted from all my other devices.
Why isn’t the email getting removed from my iPhone when deleted on other devices?

Delete the account from the device then set it up again.
Does the problem continue?  If so, address it with the Exchange Administrator.

    Hello,
You need to tell us what the email service is. BES? BIS -- and, if so, what email provider? If BES, then see your BES admins. If BIS, then expect it to function in accordance with this KB.
Otherwise, you can try the following steps, in order, even if they seem redundant to what you have already tried (steps 1 and 2 each should result in a message coming to your BB):
    1) Register HRT
Homescreen > Options > Advanced Options > Host Routing Table > (it does not matter which line is current) > Register Now
    2) Resend Service Books
KB02830 Send the service books for the BlackBerry Internet Service
    3) Batt Pull Reboot
Anytime random strange behavior or sluggishness creeps in, the first thing to do is a battery pop reboot. With power ON, remove the back cover and pull out the battery. Wait about a minute then replace the battery and cover. Power up and wait patiently through the long reboot -- ~5 minutes. See if things have returned to good operation. Like all computing devices, BB's suffer from memory leaks and such...with a hard reboot being the best cure.
Hopefully that will get things going again for you! If not, then you should try deleting and re-adding your BIS conduits for the affected email accounts.

  • Invite Email not being sent from iCal from a Google Apps calendar

    Hello,
I am running Mac OS X 10.6.5, iCal 4.0.4, and am attempting to do the following from a Google Apps calendar I have setup in iCal. Please note that it's not gmail, it's Google Apps. If that makes a difference. That being said...
I am trying to create a meeting invite from iCal. I am able to create the invite and add attendees with no problem. When I hit send (from iCal), the invitees do not receive an email notification of the event, but it does appear their calendar (both in iCal and via Google Calendar on the web). I need an email to be sent to the invitees that they have been invited to a meeting, not just to have it appear on their calendars.
When I create the meeting invite via Google Calendar on the Web the invitees do receive an email notification (as specified in their calendar preferences). The issue only happens when the meeting invite is created in iCal.
When an invitee accepts or declines a meeting via iCal I receive an acceptance or declining email. Just not when the meeting invite is sent.
Also, I am able to create a meeting on one of the "On My Computer" calendars in iCal, invite people, and a meeting invitation is sent as expected.
And again, the invitees have notification of meeting invites turned on in their calendar settings (as is shown by the fact that when the invite is sent out via Google Calendar on the Web they receive an email with the invite).
Thanks! Any assistance would be awesome.
    Aaron

That was actually my post on the Google forums
Here is what I have found so far (and hopefully some of my assumptions are correct, because we're making the full switch to Google Apps this weekend and I am assuming it will work after this). This is long, but I'm trying to be thorough. Also note that I have updated to 10.6.6 since the time I first posted my last message.
We are currently piloting Google Apps, so our primary domain (which I will refer to from now on as domain.com) still points to our old exchange servers. Mail is currently being delivered to our Google Apps pilot accounts the following way:
    1. User sends an email to [email protected]. This email is delivered to our old Exchange servers.
    2. Once the email is received on our old Exchange servers it gets forwarded to our Google Apps test domain (gtest.domain.com).
This seems to be an important piece of the puzzle as our primary domain (domain.com) shows up on the Google Apps for Admin dashboard as improperly setup (which is correct, because we're currently piloting)
So, in iCal I have my Google Apps account setup (I'm one of the pilot users) the following way. I added the Account as Google calendar in iCal, but once the account shows up it shows up as a CalDAV account.
    Under the account information tab:
    CalDAV
    Description: [email protected]
    User name: [email protected]
    Password: my password
Under the server settings tab (*NOTE: these were entered in automatically when I setup the calendar as a Google calendar)
    Server address: www.google.com
Server path: the path to my calendar.
    Use SSL is checked
Use Kerberos v5 is NOT checked
So, during my testing I was sending meeting invites from people who were in the Google Apps pilot to other people who were in the Google Apps pilot. When I was doing that, no invitations were getting sent.
I created a new email account on our exchange server ([email protected]) but did NOT set it up to be a part of the Google Apps pilot (this means that emails were not being forwarded from [email protected] to [email protected]). Doing this successfully delivered all invites, cancellations, and meeting updates from iCal!
From what I can tell there must be something going on (probably my own fault) when a calendar invite is sent from my Google Apps account, through our old Exchange system, and then back to our Google Account. My assumption is it has something to do with the fact that our MX records for domain.com currently point to our old exchange servers, and the MX records for gtest.domain.com point to the Google Apps servers. It may also have something to do with the SPF record which only allows emails from domain.com to be sent from our Exchange servers.
Those are just guesses though as I am not very knowledgeable in that area.
I hope this helps and I would love to hear about anyone else working on this issue.

  • Photos deleted from Ipod when deleted from Computer

    Hi everyone,
After I download my photos into the ipod (60gb)I usually delete them from the computer.
The next time I connect the ipod to download new pictures, the ipod deletes the old ones and adds the new ones. Is there a way I can keep all my photos on the Ipod after deleting them from the computer? Thanks Rebel1622

Are you serious? I have the exact same problem and do the same thing other guy did. Surely there is some way to manuallly add new photos and not have the photos on ipod that were deleted from the computer deleted from the ipod as well automatically???? If that's true, that's nuts. No wonder I've never used Apple products till now.....

    Hi.
It seems that more and more people are experiencing issues using Outlook, however the problem is more likely down to a couple of reasons.
If could be an Outlook account corruption - so creating a new account in Outlook with the same email details may work. Also logigng into webmail (BTYahoo!) and moving the latest Inbox emails into a temporary folder. Then move a few at a time and retry Outlook, in case there is a corrupt email which can be dealt with separately.
Do you keep all the emails on the server ? If so, there is a chance that this could cause issues with any mail client program such as Outlook - as they have to index the emails so that they don't download ones already seen.

  • Pop3 email won't delte from outlook when deleted from iphone

When i delete an email from my Iphone, it doesn't delete from Outlook on my home computer.  It is a pop email account.

Maybe you've already tried this but have you checked what your SMTP and (in case of) IMAP settings are? Which ports you are using etc.? I had the same problem with my email from my website/domain but it appears that not every provider uses the same ports. (standard in Mail is 25, i needed 2525 for example)
    Hope this helped.

  • Email deletes from desktop when deleted from iphone

I was using a comcast.net email address and recently created a gmail account, and have setup the comcast.net address to forward to it. I also have a mobileme account, but don't use it. Mainly I have it so that I can see the same calendars and contacts on an iMac and a Macbook Pro and my iphone. I've also forwarded that address to the gmail account.
Everything worked great until I started using the gmail account with other emails forwarded to it. Now when I delete an email from my iphone, it disappears from my downloaded email (Apple Mail on the iMac). At the same time, it disappears from the gmail inbox. What the heck? I've even tried enabling POP for gmail, but those setting don't seem to make a difference, and the settings always default back to IMAP anyway.
I now cannot delete any email from my phone that I need to keep on my desktop. I'm a freelancer and need my emails... ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

I'm surprised that you are considering using POP when IMAP is available. POP is an old protocol designed when people only accessed their mail with one client. It also doesn't allow you to create and sync folders which is another drawback.
If you want to clear the Inbox on your iPhone, why not create a folder called "Read" or something in your GMail account and then move e-mails to that on your iPhone once you have opened them. They will then still be available on any other clients that access the mailbox or by using the GMail web interface.

  • Can't get music deleted from iPhone when syncing

I had a computer crash and had to restore all music from backup drives, iPods and iPhone.
I built my iTunes library back and am ready to sync again with my iPods and iPhone.
There's no problem with the iPods.
All music that was on there is automaticly deleted and the iPod syncs perfectly with the new built library.
With the iPhone though it's not working.
On the iTunes screen I can see there's no music left.
But after syncing the music always seems to come back and can't get removed from the iPhone.
I sync the iPhone by selecting the playlists.
So on top it says 0 music gets syncronised when I haven't selected any playlist. On the bottom of the screen there's no music and the iPhone seems almost empty.
That's good, as I want the new library to be put on the iPhone.
But after syncing I can see there are no playlists on my iPhone anymore, which is correct, but the music itself stays on the iPhone.
    I don't know what's happening.
Usually when I select some playlists or unselect others, this affects the syncing of the titles immediatley, putting songs from the selected playlists on the iPhone and deleting the other ones.
    But now it's very strange.
The playlists are deleted or added the way I want them to be be, but the music itself stays on the iPhone, always giving me the notice that there's not enough space on the iPhone.
I just can't see what's happening. I've been doing this without any problem for such a long time.
But now it doesn't make sense to me.
Looking at the screen after not selecting any playlists, there shouldn't be any song synced to the iPhone.
That's what I also see on the bottom of the screen. But when clicking on syncronising, after a while it's full again, meaning no music is erased form the iPhone.
Can anybody help me with this?
    Thanks.

I'm sorry, I tried but it didn't work well enough.
I have two screens and when I take screenshots, the picture of the iTunes screen is too little to make sense.
I'll try to explain what I'm doing now.
I only selected one playlist, containing 27 songs.
When I syncronize it says there's 52 GB free space, which is almost everything.
There's almost no audio. that's good as it's only about 27 songs here.
    So far so good.
The thing I had to look for, 'On this phone' is not on top of the page, but on the left my iPhone appears as a device in the menu.
When clicking on it I can see Music, Films, TV shows and the one playlist I syncronized.
Films and TV shows are empty, in music only the 27 songs appear.
    Still so far so good.
But then when I click on synchronising again all of a sudden it's filled with audio again for 52 GB.
There's almost no free space. However there's still only one playlist with 27 songs marked to syncronize and in Music  I can still only see the 27 songs.
After a while it jumps back again to 52 GB of free space with almost no music.
The thing is it looks good on the iTunes screen.
The iPhone appears to be almost empty and in Music I can only see the songs of one playlist.
On the iPhone itself though all the music is still there.
So there's no correllation ibetween what iTunes is showing, almost no music, and what my iPhone itself is showing.
I just can't get rid of the music that was still on my iPhone before I had a computer hard drive crash.
I want to get rid of the old stuff on my iPhone, so I can sync it again with the new music library I created.
Do you think it's possible that it's something to do with iCloud or things like that?
Is there no other way to empty my iPhone from all the music and afterwards sync it again, without losing all the other stuff?
I'm using iPods from the beginning, having a big music library of 40.000 songs.
I never had a problem like this, though I'm very used of suncing iPods with certain playlists, artists etc.

  • Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail emails not being sent to iPhone

I can't understand why emails sent by recipients with Yahoo, Gmail, or Hotmail (etc) accounts are not being received by my iPhone. Everything else comes seems to come through... Just to confirm, these are not accounts that I've created but rather email servers for family, friends, and clients that need to copy to my iPhone.
Any suggestions where I can adjust settings to allow these emails to come through? Muchly appreciated.

Who is your email provider? Is it one of the free services or a work account?
Do the emails show up in your inbox when you check from a computer?
Do you have any filtering rules set up on your email account that would automatically direct the emails to a folder other than your inbox?

  • Sent emails not being delivered from Outlook

For the past week emails sent from Outlook although appearing in my Sent mailbox are not being delivered.  This is not a problem where emails are sent from my iphone.  I have made no settings changes.  This seems to be a familiar problem but research has not produced a solution as most people give up.
I am using a Windows 8 laptop with Outlook 2013.  I have set up numerous new accounts with automated settings with no success.
    Please help!!

I too knowingly have had this problem since at least 19/1/2015.
I have Windows 7 with Outlook 2013 and two BT accounts plus Sky and Google accounts (for fallback). All have functioned well for the past three years.
No changes to my PC have been made for at least 6 months (apart from MS updates).
My wife's laptop runs Windows 7 with Outlook 2010 and has found the same issue. At a Womens Instutute meeting last night in the village it became apparent (without my wife initiating the issue) that a number of other BT eMail account customers have the same problem too.
I spent about an hour yesterday trying various combinations of operation to confirm the issues. I have found:
1 - eMails sent from either BT account self addressed will bounce back the eMails (presumably from the BT Server)
2 - eMails sent from either BT account to BT accounts will not forward (send/deliver)
3 - eMails sent from either BT account to non BT addresses will not forward (but will bounce back if the self address is included in the addresses showing that at least the eMail is reaching the BT mail server).
4 - eMails sent from Outlook through Sky and Google systems are being received by the BT system and recieved into the Outlook BT accounts.
5 - All eMails sent in Outlook appear in the Sent box
6 - eMails sent from Webmail accounts all work normally
All these tests can be replicated on my wife's laptop with other BT and non-BT addresses.
I then spent about an hour whilst a BT Technician (ABHISHEK SEN) through CHAT accessed my PC, checked all settings and declared no fault found.
Later I spent another hour on the phone to the BT Help Desk (with VIKRAM) who did much of the same, declared that there was a problem and that I would have to hire a local PC expert technician to come and sort out the problem on my PC. He would not acknowledge that there just might be a problem with the BT eMail Server system.
Finally the only common thread is that the BT accounts are sub-accounts of my main account and that I pay the bills - and of course the router and copper lines to the exchange.
HOW OR WHERE DO I/WE RAISE THIS ISSUE WITH A HIGHER AUTHORITY TO GET IT RESOLVED?
Oh! And then there is the rest of the village and gwood's machine also need to have their similar issue resolved too.
To use gwood's last paragraph: PLEASE HELP!!

  • Sent emails not being delivered from Outlook via S...

Hi, is anyone else having issues with sent items via Outlook?
My settings have been working fine for years and the Outlook account check does not show any issues, yet when I send emails they are not delivered. They're not in my Outbox and they go to sent items.
I've tried reconfiguring for SSL, disabling all firewalls/HIPS/protection all to no avail.
It's really annoying especially at this time of year - but tech support say they do not support Outlook and emails sent from the web client work OK.
It can connect to mail.btinternet.com over port 25 and if i couldn't would get an error message in outlook so can only assume they are knocking around somewhere in the BT infrastructure.
Would be useful if a track on emails was available...
Any feedback on similar issues or advice would be gratefully received!
    Thanks

    Hi. Welcome to the forums.
For info, CP (Critical Path) has been in use for a few months now for the conversion from using Yahoo! mail servers.
What version of Outlook are you using ?
In the smtp setting, try removing @btinternet.com or @btopenworld.com from the username - despite what the online help might say.
You might like to try port 25, with No security or SSL/TLS setting.
Is it all emails that are failing to send ?
If emails have been fine for years, do you know what the previous settings were ?
As for disabling firewalls - this doesn't always help - as they can still block emails! What security package are you using, and have you checked the settings within that package ?
    Sorry for the extra questions.

  • Email not being sent to iphone

since i set up icloud i have been having some trouble getting and sending mail, especially on my iphone. the emails eventually come in hours later.
when i checked the settings on the iphone i immediately receive an alert stating: "Verification Failed... Could not communicate with the server". However, it appears that i have set everything up correctly.
also, on my Mac, when sending an email, it often states that iCloud is "offline"
what can i do to resolve this??
    thanks.

If you use Outlook, there is a web access to your corporate email. Since iPhone has VPN, if you connect via VPN, then you should be able to access Outlook via web.
While it is not the same as the push mail service that BB or MS offers, and it does not sync your calendar automatically, at least you can get to your office email.
My sense is that there are ways, only if your IT department is willing to work with you, because it is not a "standard issue" smartphone. Plus most IT departments has big concerns with iTunes (not for security but appropriate use of corporate resources and assests).

  • SOME Contacts Not Being Pushed From iPhone to MobileMe

Some of my contacts aren't being pushed from my iPhone to MobileMe. Some aren;t being pushed from MobileMe to my iPhone. I have 51 contacts on my iPhone and 35 on my MobileMe. If i create a new contact on MobileMe it might be pushed or might not. Same goes with iPhone.
Anyone got any ideas or having the same problem? Im just using the internet based contacts because I'm on Vista

    One thing to try.
Export the photo, from iphoto, that will not sync to the iphone.
Make sure the file name has an extension. (something like .jpg or .bmp)
Import the photo back into iphoto.
Now try syncing the photo to the iphone.
    Hope this helps.

  • Itunes not deleting apps from iphone when deleted

    Hello All,
Since I updated to ITunes 11 I have had a device behavior change with my IPhone and IPad.  In the past when I would delete an App from ITunes it would also delete the app from the device on the next sync.  This seems to have gone away with the ITunes 11 update.
Does anyone know how to get that back?
    Thanks

I have exactly the same problem on Windows after upgrading to itunes 11 for both iPhone4 and iPad3.
I also reset the warnings in iTunes and clicked don't transfer during sync but that does not help at all and the problem is still there.
