Email Notification: too many emails

Hello!
My environment is EP 7.0 SP14.
I use notification option of action (notification tab) and com.sap.caf.eu.gp.callobj.mail.NotificationCO callable object.  Parameters: Event - On Assign, Send to - Current processors.
The problem: Each processor of the action get as many emails as processors of the action.
For example:
Action1 - 2 Processors in role, Each user get 2 emails,
Action2 - 3 Processors in role, Each user get 3 emails
and so on...
I have searched forum and SAP notes, no result...
Does anybody know, how to solve this problem?

I have simple workflow with 10 actions and one sequential block.
My requirement is to notify users involved in process when action is assigned to user (or group of users).
Notification work by the right event. No matter who completed the task. He doesn't receive notifications. When action is assigned to 10 users each of them gets 10 emails as notifications. But they must get only one email.
The problem is in amount of emails.
May be it's solved in SP15 or SP16?

  • Too many emails!  Help!!

I would like to discontinue getting the emails but have tried everything I can think of to get them to stop.  Where do I do this?  Got over 870 this morning when I logged on my computer.

Go to your profile and in the Action pane on the right select manage email notifications. Select the check box to the right of date and then remove selected (bottom right). Repeate for each page. You can display 50 per page (on the left) to make it go quicker.

  • HOW DO I STOP THEM....too many emails!!!!!!!!

I posted one message and replied to a couple of messages.
Suddenly my mailbox has been swamped by messages and more messages from these forums.
All my notifications had been set to 'NO' and I am still getting emails.
    How do I stop them?
    Regards

Click on your username and then click "Manage Preferences" in the sidebar. Then click the "Email Notifications Preferences" tab in there and set all options to "No."
If you click the "Manage Email Notifications" option that is directly in the sidebar, then you will be shown the various topics for which you are receiving emails from (ie, your subscriptions) and not the settings to enable or disable them altogether. Also be sure to click "Save" after changing any settings.

I have almost 500 emails in the last 2 day.  How do I do mass trash of all these mails on my phone???

You cannot unlist yourself from the ASC. Only a host can do that and there has to be a very good reason for doing so, like a privacy concern or issue, something like that. If you do not want to participate in the community, just quit posting.
Did you also check the box at the top of the post that you participated in and check Stop Email Notifications? It is in the Actions Box in the upper right corner of each page on the website. You have to go back to the post that you were in and select that as well.
Do you see the Actions Box in the upper right corner of this screenshot?

  • Does threading work for email notifications in your email client?

    Hi everyone,
We're trying to get a pulse from the community on what email clients and platforms you guys are using, especially in the case where the threading of email subscriptions isn't working. I have heard that threads can be grouped in Entourage on a Mac.
Can anyone Mac/Entourange users confirm this?
Would appreciate everyone's input on what mail client/OS you are using and if threading works for you or not. I know for the majority of you it isn't working, and we're looking at ways this can be addressed.
    Thanks!
Here's the first entry: I use Microsoft Outlook on Windows XP and my email notifications don't thread.

I think there is some confusion here on what is to be considered
threading and what isn't. Since I may have been causing some of that
confusion by not being as exact as I could have been in my many rants
about the subject, allow me to attempt to clarify a bit.
First, lets start with a sequence of messages to define a topic (I am
trying to avoid the word thread here). Somebody starts a topic with
message A. The first reply to message A is message B. The second reply
to message A is message see. In flat view the topic will look like this:
    A
    B
    C
In threaded view it will look like this:
    A
    -- B
    -- C
Now somebody is going to reply to message B in the topic. In flat view
    this will look like:
    A
    B
    C
    D
In threaded view this will look like:
    A
    -- B
    ---- D
    -- C
Strictly speaking only such a tree-like view is considered threading.
For instance what Gmail does is not strictly threading (more about that
later). Threading works because every email message has a Message-ID
that is a unique identifier of that message. When an email client
replies to a message it will create a new unique Message-ID for that
message, but it will take the Message-ID from the original and put it in
the References header so email replies have a pointer back to the
original message. If a threading email client receives a message with a
References header and it also has the email message to which that
References header points, the email client will show that message as a
child of the original. (This is still somewhat of a simplification and
skips over multiple IDs and the In-Reply-To header, for the exact
working see RFC 2822 section 3.6.4.)
This is what the whole Mozilla family of email clients does and most of
the old school Unix email clients as well.
What Gmail does (and what you can configure many email clients to do) is
to group messages by subject. Such a group of messages is in Gmail terms
a conversation. Then within that conversation messages are sorted by
date. This is different then threading. If a Gmail user had read
messages A, B and C of our example above and then navigated away, upon
returning to the conversation he will not find message D on the third
position in the conversation, but on the fourth. I think we should (and
I will try to remember to) refer to this behaviour as grouped display,
    and not as threaded display.
Now, how can we use this to fix these forums?
The first part is simple: just add a References header to all outgoing
email. Only email clients that are configured to thread will do
something with that, so it will fix threading for those who want to use
threading without breaking anything for the email clients that don't
    want to thread.
The impact of this on the Jive advancedemail plugin should be minimal.
Every outgoing email should just set its MessageID to the ID property of
the outgoing ForumMessage then test for the value of the parentMessgeID
property and if it is present set the References header. Append
@mail.forums.adobe.com to all IDs and you are done.
This will not fix the issue for the email clients that use grouping. To
(mostly) fix it for them, the simple solution is to just move the unique
code in the subject line forward until it appears before the "Re: " in
the subject. Email clients that use grouping are aware there might be an
code in the subject to indicate a message is a response (in English
usually "Re: ", other languages use something like "antwoord: " or
"resp: " etc.). They will group based on what is in the subject after
the "Re: " so that will put all the replies together.
It may not entirely fix it though, since the first message in a topic
doesn't have "Re :" it might be you end up with 2 groups, one with just
the first message and one with all the answers.
I already tested this and the Jive email import functionality does
support the code being in a different position, so it is just the
sending part that would need to be modified.
This does have a huge downside for the email clients that use neither
threading nor grouping (such as webmail clients like Squirrelmail and
IMP). If you use such a client and do a simple sort on the subject now
it will sort more or less correctly. If the code moves forward the
    sorting there will disappear.
The last and final step / option is to change the Jive email import
functionality not to depend on that code but instead to depend on the
References header that an email client will put in the reply. That is a
significant change on the Jive side (and if Jive is going to do that I
have more suggestions to improve their core email system). Then
everybody can thread, group and sort however he likes, but Jive would
need to define a backup strategy for messages where an email client
fails to include a References header.

  • Email Notification with no Email??!

    Hi and Tnxs for reading.
On my iOS devices, iPhone and iPad, I got an email notification which is staying there although there is nothing in the incoming folder.
It never happen before. I have the red circle with a marked "1" inside and, the same number shown on the email counter in the email index. However, when selecting the incoming mail folder, it is empty. This is happening on both my iOS devices. I tried to access my yahoo mail via web and no mail are pending.
I tried to disconnect yahoo account from my iOS devices (issue fixed, disappeared), but the notification come back when I reactivate the account.
    Any advice please?
    Tnxs, cheers.

    try this:
    1. In settings turn off the offending mail account
    2. Power down phone
    3. Turn phone back on
    4. Turn the email account back on in settings

  • Too many emails associated with product

My daughter recently got an ipod touch. She has signed onto itunes using my account. Now she wants her own acct on the ipod touch so she can use facetime and all that stuff, but for some reason it is affecting my iphone. She has put 2 different emails into the ipod touch and whenver she does it sends a message to my phone and i don't know what to do.  Is the easiest way to fix this by resetting ipod?

Create a NEW account/ID for her using these instructions. Make sure you follow the instructions. Many do not and if you do not you will not get the None option. You must use an email address that you have not used with Apple before.
Creating an iTunes Store, App Store, iBookstore, and Mac App Store account without a credit card
Use the new ID on her iPod but only for:
    Settings>Messages>Send and Receive
    Settings>FaceTime
and Settings>iCloud if you want her to have separate Contacts Calendar and some other things.
Continue to use the same/common Apple ID for Settings>iTunes and App stores so you can share purchases.

  • Too many emails stored

Verizon is currently storing more than 600 emails to me and my online site.
I want to delete more than 500. But I really do not want to click a tiny box more than 500 times. I would also prefer not to have so many stored, anywhere.
    My questions:
How can I get rid of the vast majority of those emails? (They try to download to my Smartphone every time I log on.) And how can I restrict the number stored?

If you use a program like Outlook or other email client to access your mail (versus the web site) you can multi-select the messages and then delete them.
I don't think you can "restrict the number stored."

  • I0s7 shows too many email in my inbox

How do I get rid of all the unread emails that now show up?

Me too, with my Comcast POP account. Tried the advice at the link below (for GMail), but it doesn't seem to have helped (so far, at least). I did have a lot of old emails that were still marked as unread, but marking them all as read doesn't seem to have changed anything in Mail on my iPhone.

  • Too many Yellow screens, too many emails - how to unsubscribe?

I started following a yellow screen iPhone thread after getting my yellowscreen 4S direct from Apple - C39 serial
Replacement No. 1, at Apple Store Covent Garden, also yellow, did not actually swap, although they messed up the paperwork to show I did.
Replacement No. 2. at Apple Store Covent Garden, special order, 'store swap pack' took a week to arrive, also yellow C39 serial.
Replacement No. 3. via applecare by UPS, 'swap packaging' courier was supposed to wait and collect original, didn;t wait, but just as yellow.C39 serial
Replacement No. 4. again via Applecare - I think, by TNT, full retail pack, also yellow, Apple charged for a second phone DNP serial
Replacement No. 5. again via Applecare - I think, by TNT again, full retail pack again, yellow again, Apple didn't have any record of this one until I told them.
At this point Apple who had been previously utterly useless and unresponsive suddenly became very helpful, realising what a mess this all was.  Wanted me to give them one last chance, would arrange collection of all 3 yellowscreen iPhone 4Ss, refunds for both phones, and an appointment at Apple store Covent Garden to allow me to see the screen before purchase.
In the event Apple store Covent Garden had no record of what my appointment was for.
It took just shy of an hour to open two iPhone 4Ss and find that both were yellow screen.  Both serials began DNP, and all their stock was either DNP or C39, this time the "Genius and Genius Manager were both very helpful, Genius could see the issue at once, Genius Manager was actually colour blind, so could appreciate the issue but not see it for himself - apologetic they could not meet expectation of 'the most amazing iPhone yet' having at least as good a screen as the 4. Welcome to the post Jobs erea I suspect.
Replacement No. 6. at Apple Store Covent Garden, retail pack, yellow screen, serial beginning DNP
Replacement No. 7. at Apple Store Covent Garden, retail pack, yellow screen, serial beginning DNP
Give up on yellowscreen iPhone, revert to 3GS.
All display phones at the Apple Store Covent Garden store were C37 serials - quelle surprise!
On another subject, but the one of the title, I have been inundated with the stream of responses on the previous post I was subscribed to - about 500 not very happy iPhone users at the last count.  Each email that arrives tells me,"You are receiving this email from Apple Support Communities. Well, I have, and set everything to 'off' but they just keep on arriving.  Does anyone know how to stem the flow.  I am very sorry for anyone suffering the insipid yellow screen of their 4S, but having decided to go back to my 3GS, I don't want to be updated five times a day..

  • Can having too many emails stored in Mail cause problems?

I've got over 3,800 emails in my inbox and I sometimes have problems with Mail not starting. My mail is stored in iCloud (so I can access them across all my Apple devices) but I also have a lot of old emails just stored on my Mac.
Should I just archive old important emails on my Mac as well as deleting unwanted emails? Will that improve the performance of Mail? Would having a lot of old emails just stored on my Mac affect the performance of Mail on my Mac?
    Thanks.

  • Too many email addresses

    Hi,
In Hungary the name of users can contain accented characters. When I set GW to generate email addresses in Last Name.First Name@Internet domain name format, these accented characters are not removed from the email address, so they are not valid. I wrote a script to get rid of the accents, but the result is not what I expected.
This is the xml I make for every user:
    <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
    <user xmlns:ns2="http://www.w3.org/2005/Atom">
    <preferredAddressFormat>
    <inherited>false</inherited>
    <inheritedFrom>DOMAIN</inheritedFrom>
    <inheritedValue>LAST_FIRST</inheritedValue>
    <value>LAST_FIRST</value>
    </preferredAddressFormat>
    <preferredEmailId>horvath.gellert</preferredEmailId>
    <internetDomainName>
    <inherited>false</inherited>
    <value>domain</value>
    </internetDomainName>
    <emailAddresses>horvath.gellert@domain</emailAddresses>
    </user>
    curl -k -H "Content-Type: application/xml" -X PUT --user user:password --data "@./horvathg-import.xml" https://mail:9710/gwadmin-service/do...users/horvathg
When I load this into GW everything looks fine, the attributes are set correctly. But when I click View EMail Addresses in GW Admin console, there are 40 email addresses in the allowed addresses formats, although "For incoming mail, recipients are known exclusively by this Internet domain name" is set. User is addressable through theses 40 email addresses, and makes conflicts when I try to create an email address with the same referredEmailId but with a different domain.
When I click "save" without any modification made on the user's properties page and open "View EMail Addresses" again, then there are only the two required email addresses. How can I automate this? There is nothing in the dev docs about a "save" feature. Clicking save on 30k user is not an option.
    Thanks,
    Gellert

    Update.
I changed the Internet Addressing Email Publishing to "Publish the Preferred Email Address only" and now there are only the two expected email addresses on the users property page. This solves my problem, ( but I will open an SR for the previous scenario.)
