Email Notifier for Mountain Lion

OS Mountain Lion is due out later this month. I find that the email notifier appearing as a small tick on the email dock icon with OS Lion is hit and miss. Is it true that an improved notifier will be available with OS Mountain Lion that will appear on the desktop as a pop-up?

Pop3 new email notify, for kde4?

Hi!
Someone knows a pop3 new email notifier that works in kde 4?
I have to check 1 email, and do not want to have open thunderbird (or something similar) just to do that...

By the way, gmail is also pop3. You just need to activate it on the settings tab of the gmail web interface.

N900- email settings for hotmail

I was told by Nokia that this phone ( N900) supports push email. I still can not get nokia email to deliver my mails from Hotmail even after visiting Nokia care center here in Nigeria. Keep getting the message "server name or port number may be wrong". Please what is the Nokia server name and port number in NIgeria.

HT1430 I can not open my email. A box comes up stating- CAN NOT GET MAIL, The user name or password for "Hotmail" is incorrect, I never have to use a password on my IPAD. What is going on?

Check your email settings (on your iPad) for that account and make sure the username and/or password are correct.

IPhoto -share to email not working-The email server didn't recognize your username/password combination- for hotmail and big pond- since apple technical support re-hotmail on iPhone.

in the iPhoto preferences ==> accounts delete your e-mail account and reenter it
OR
IMHO the better solution is to set Apple mail as the email client in the iPhoto preferences

On 3G we cannot send emails from either our iPhones or iPad and this also happens with some WiFi connections but not all. Yet we can always send emails from our Hotmail Email account. What is causing this and what do we need to do to resolve it?

On 3G we cannot send Business emails from either our iPhones or Ipad and this also happens with some WiFi connections but not all. Yet we can always send emails from our Hotmail Account using both 3G and WiFi.
We bought the iPhones and Ipad so that we could send emails while we are out of the Office, but we are not able to do this unless we can find a WiFi connection. Incoming emails are fine. We use IMAP, for Business emails just incase this is relevant and I know that Hotmail is POP3.
Our technical IT knowledge is not great, so we look forward to your suggestions as to how to resolve this.

Contact whomever supports the email account and get the correct Outgoing email server settings from them.

interesting that my gmail account does work perfectly.

this may or may not help - but give it a try. On a forum some were reporting that talk21 is now under the yahoo umbrella. below are the steps this use listed. (This was an android forum, but the email settings should be the same. In short it looks like their server names have changed. An existing account may have simply been forwarded - but if you are reinstalling, it may want a clean install to the right servers.) Pay particular attention to the server names and port settings. (this thread was started based on a discussion of Imap vs pop - you are already an Imap person - so ignore that part)

why settle for pop3, when IMAP works with talk21 and not only does mail get pushed out faster with IMAP, but when you click refresh it will be received faster than pop3. The other advantage is subfolders are also supported with IMAP but cant be seen with POP3. This mail feature works with my android eclair & hero phone and the settings are exactly the same for win mobiles also (not tested). The mail setting up roadmap is the same from what i can remember once in the mail feature for win mobi.
This is what you need to do to setup Talk21 email with IMAP.
Incoming server settings
IMAP server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
Port - 143
Security type - none
Outgoing Server settings
SMTP server - smtp.mail.yahoo.com
Port - 25
Security type - none Also important note - Enable 'require sign-in'
and enter your talk21 username and password The End...works a treat for me p.s. Its only taken me 3 years to work it out with win mobile and recently with android. I accidentally created an iCloud account using the wrong email address for my username - I already have an iCloud account with a different email address username. Is there any way I can merge these accounts?

I just upgraded my MacBook from OS X 10.6.8 to Mountain Lion so that I could stream from my other devices (iPhone and iPad) to my MacBook. After making it through the upgrade process, I realized that I used the wrong email address for my iCloud username when starting up on the MacBook. My iPhone, iPad, and iTunes are under my Hotmail email address and I accidently used my Gmail email address for the MacBook. Is there any way I can merge these two icloud accounts together? I tried changing my account information to add the other email address, but wasn't allowed because another account was using the name (duh). If I can't merge them, how could I change the MacBook from the Gmail address to the Hotmail address so that all my devices are on the same icloud account? It'd be nice if I could keep the free 5GB of storage that comes with my purchase of the software, but I'd rather lose the storage than not be able to stream.

To change accounts on your Mac, go to System Preferences, sign out of the current account, then sign into the new account. When you sign out of the current account it will delete synced data from your Mac. Assuming your data (such as contacts, calendars, etc.) is in the other iCloud account, it will be synced to your Mac when you sign into this account.

Welcome to the Apple community.
Once you have created a rescue address, you cannot delete it, nor can you change it to the same address as used by your ID. There are numerous providers you can get additional email addresses from, such as Hotmail, Yahoo, Google etc etc.

How to keep the forwarded email in the hotmail inbox?

After I received an email in the Hotmail.com, I selected the Forward under the Reply. After I forwarded the email, the original email was no longer in the inbox. I checked the Options before forwarding the email. There is no Mail option. Can you tell

Do you use Outlook Client to setup the Hotmail Account? If no, I think it's purely a Hotmail issue, your inbox might be set to be viewed in a conversation threading manner. I would like you to follow the steps below to show your inbox messages individually:
1. Sign in to your account.
2. In the upper-right of the Outlook window, click the Options icon (gear icon).
3. Click More mail settings.
4. Under Reading email, click Group by conversation and pre-load messages.
5. Select Show messages individually.
6. Click Save.
After doing the above steps, go back to your inbox to check the result.

Access the homescreen and tap "Settings."
Go to "Mail, Contacts, and Calendars" and tap "Add Account." Your iPhone should display a list of email service providers. Even though you are setting up a Hotmail account, you will be doing it first through Gmail on your iPhone. Tap the Gmail icon to create a new account. Enter your name and a user name and password for the new Hotmail account you will be making later. Enter "imap.gmail.com" in the "HostName" column. Press the "Save" button at the upper right corner of the screen.
Enter your name, email address, password, and the description of the account. Next, click "Save." You should now be able to check your email from the homescreen.
Enter "smtp.gmail.com" in the "Outgoing Mail Server." Enter the password for this Gmail account in the "Password" column. Enter user name for this Gmail account in the "UserName" column. Press the "Save" button at the upper right corner of the screen. Press the "Home" button to return to the iPhone's home screen.
Use the Web browser to go to Hotmail.com and create a new account. Use the user name and password for the account that you entered into the Gmail account on the iPhone earlier. Click on “Settings” after the account has been created.
