Email problem after SIM change

I tried to change provider from O2 to Vodafone.  Got the new SIM, put it in the BB, set up a test email account to check it worked and started to try to change network.  I was told the number couldn't be ported until Wednesday.  The phone has to be switched off and in the UK on that day - well, I'm travelling overseas this week so I cancelled that idea and put the O2 SIM back in the phone.
I had three email addresses on my BB.  I validated two of them without a problem.  The third one will not validate.  I called O2 and after an hour with various people in customer "service" was told they didn't have a Blackberry team and couldn't help me (Eventually the lady transferred me to the International Operator, nice touch O2).
I have deleted the email account but cannot add it back.  I have done the battery pull, I have restored and backed up the device, reloaded the software.  I visited my local O2 store and the staff there, although pleasant, couldn't help either.  They say it is a Blackberry problem, not an O2 problem.  Now I am stuck.  Can somebody please help me figure out how to validate an email address which was working on my BB this morning before I changed SIM cards?
Thank you.

Hello,
Wow...O2 really let you down there...you see, even if they are unable to help, they have the ability (indeed, responsibility!) to escalate cases up to RIM for enhanced support. They didn't do that for you...a real pity, especially since you pay them for 100% of your services and 100% of your formal support...right now, they seem to be delivering neither to you.
There are a couple of other methods to try:
If they have one, from the PC/browser, the O2 BIS website:
Sorry, I don't have a URL...there used to be a good listing, but it seems to not be functional ATM.
On your BB Browser, this site:
www.blackberry.com/integrate
See if either of those can get this going for you.
Be careful, on the BB keyboard, with entry of numbers and/or special characters...you're probably doing it right, but it is important to remember to press ALT or SYM before each and every character that is not the "normal" keyboard character. For instance, some folks press ALT just once and then think they are typing a string of number when actually they get just the first numeric with the rest being the alfa letters.
Good luck!

    Hi Lee.
Sorry to hear this. Have you tried the reset password area (see my shortcuts option 3a) ? It seems like you have by the info you've supplied.
May I ask how you changed the password ? Was it via a similar screen display to my option 3 , usually reached from the accounts & billing page in the portal.
Are you logging in via webmail, or using an email client program such as Outlook, Windows Mail or Thunderbird ?
It does seem like somehow the act of changing the password has somehow corrupted the entry. Is there any slight chance you may have entered the password and somehow pressed the wrong key twice including the confirmation entry ?, or indeed another slight mistake that you can possibly remember ? Sorry for any inference, but it can happen unfortunately.
If all these things fail, then certainly the helpdesk is your best route as the other replies have said.
    Good luck.

  • Problems after Mainboard changed

I experience a problem after i have changed my mainboard into a MSI K7T Delta-L with a Athlon 2400+ XP. The Performance is as it is used to be, and when i do not scroll all is smooth, but when i scroll the screen it stars to jerk and "blur" although the FPS are high. Does anyone know, what the ´cause for this is?

Look at the other posts of the people that have answered you, and put your specs in yout sig.  If we see what your hardware specs are, it will help you in getting better, more useful answers.
And yes, your pc might boot up fine, but once you put a load on your system (running programs) your pc requires more power.  Did you upgrade to a new graphics card when you rebuilt your system?

  • HT4254 Problems after battery changing

everytime I change the batteries in my trackpad, I have to intermittently hit system preferences to get it to recognize the trackpad. Any suggestions? And yes, the batteries are in the right way.

    Hello:
If that only happens after you change batteries, I would say that is normal.  You might make the device a favorite - that may help.

  • Blackberry Protect function after SIM change

I have just got a new PAYG SIM card for my Betterware and put it in my BB Torch.
I got a message from BB Protect that the SIM had been changed, which made me think about what if the phone had been stolen and SIM changed.
I tried the loud ring, the locator and the message facilities from the Protect website - all of which stuck at "waiting for device to respond".
Does this mean that if the phone is stolen and the SIM changed then BB Protect in effect ceases to be useful?
Let's be honest, if the phone were stolen then a new SIM is likely....
    Solved!
    Go to Solution.

Yes, by changing the SIM card you've disconnected the device from your BIS account and disconnected it from access to you.
Somethings cannot be prevented, just like you can't prevent the thief from stomping on the device and crushing it. No software will 'disable' that.

  • Facetime turns Off after SIM change

I have an iPhone 4 and uses 2 prepaid SIM from 2 different carriers. My problem is that when I change the SIM, Facetime turns Off and I have to manually turn it On.
The problem here is that every time I turn it On it sends an international SMS for activation and that costs a lot !
Why isn't Facetime activating via email or iTunes ?

It would make sense, but that would mean designing it with the idea that the phone is going to be used with multiple numbers on a regular basis. That may be common in Europe, but it's extremely rare in the U.S. and the designers undoubtedly had/have a U.S. mindset when it comes to things like that. Prepaid service is pretty common here, but it generally doesn't involve buying SIM cards with airtime tied to them. Unlike much of the world where that's possible, it's illegal in the U.S.

  • Problems after router change

I have just changed my wireless router and am having problems connecting with iChat video. I have tested it with Apple testers on my old router (802.11g/b) and it works perfectly but it will not connect with my new one (802.11n) although it does work OK from one of my computers to the other - perhaps a local network issue? The message I get is that I have been disconnected because no data has been received in the last 10 seconds. The routers are the same make (Netgear) and I have populated each of them with much the same data regarding Firewall rules etc. Any help would be appreciated. I could just go back to the old one but I'm hoping for better speeds and range from the new one so would like to get it working.

    Hi,
The DG834G Netgear that I had would not work without the DOS being Off and the Pings being allowed.
Do you still have the Port Forwarding setting Enabled ?
I am curious about the VPN.
Some VPNs are set up with an Internet connection as part of the process.
It sounds like this one is not. iChat cannot resolve two connections to the Internet (Wifi and Ethernet at the same time for instance)
The No Data for 10 Secs message means you were connected (even if you did not see any Video or hear any Audio).
The message means that iChat did not end the chat and that an external event did, such as pulling an Ethernet cable, router failure, turning off the Mac's Airport card.
DOS work on a threshold basis and if it receives "Too much Data, Too Quickly" it cuts the port that this is happening on to "Protect" the whole connection.
This threshold cannot be changed and tends to be lower than iChat can Stream video over modern connection speeds.
I would try two things separately.
The SIP ALG is something I did not have on my Netgear.
iChat Uses SIP so I would try it with that ON.
Also try setting iChat menu > Preferences > Video Section > Bandwidth Limit to 500kbps
iChat 5 Can "See" your whole Internet Connection speed. (iChat 4 and Earlier was limited to a max of 1.5Mbps set in System Preferences > Quicktime > Streaming - a setting that does not exist in Snow Leopard)
It could be that the new router allows faster throughput and that you have moved to iChat 5 meaning you are bumping into the DOS threshold.
Of course the issue could be at the other end. The log is not that specific about which end "Cut" the connection.

  • Email problem after 10.9.2 upgrade

I see where a lot of people are having problems with email, but I have a new and strange problem.
Whenever I attempt to reply to an email, and do so from the software window (window that includes email accounts, email list and the actual email), whether I click the reply arrow from the email in the window or from the toolbar, the email does the animation as if it's bringing up a reply window, but then that window slides off the side of my monitor and disappears.
The only way I can reply to an email is to open the email in a separate window, and then click the reply arrow (either in the email or the toolbar).
This began right after upgrading to 10.9.2.
I'm using a cinema display in addition to my laptop display, and it does this with both monitors.
Thanks in advance for any help.
    Susan

Thanks guys but actually it was my own fault not the update. Downloaded Avast and it was the "mail shield" that was causing the problem turned it off and no problems since. Thanks for the responses.

  • Any email problems after updating to OS7

Is anyone experiencing problems with email after updating to OS7 on your iphone?

Yes. My girlfriend and I both have iPhone4. We got the update yesterday. No problem for me, everything seems great up to now. But she lost her "inbox" in Mail. Everything seems to be just as it was before, except that she has no "inbox". What's that?

  • Xperia z1 compact email problems after lollipop upgrade

    Hi there,
I have one huge issue with the email accounts I manage on my Z1C after upgrading to Lollipop.
Downloading new messages used to be extremely fast with Kitkat. Now with the new OS, this has turned into a nerve-racking operation.
Sometimes I have to try three, four times before messages are actually downloaded. Besides, while a tone announces the presence of new messages, these are not displayed. I have to open an old message and then go back to the main page, wait for it do reload and eventually I can see the new messages visualised.
The whole opearation may take several minutes. If this happend on a normal browser, I would immediately think of a problem with the cache memory...
I add that the upgrade procedure was smooth and ended successfully. All the other apps work perfectly, the connection to the Internet is fast and efficient, the problem occurs both when I'm connected to a Wi-Fi router and when I use my provider's network (H3G). I use the default application to manage all my email accounts. The email accounts are set as IMAP.
Have you experienced any similar issues? Does anybody have any idea of how to sort out this problem. Thank you all for your help!

I've experienced this problem also.  The new version of Email saw all of my Gmail messages as new mail, so it took about an hour for me to deal with the barrage of new notifications.  After that was dealt with, Email now works... but it's incredibly S... L... O... W.  Message downloads used to be a snap, but now it can take 20 to 30 seconds just to download a half dozen new message headers.  When I actually tap a message header to open the mesage, it takes another 10 to 30 for the message text to display.

  • Email problem after v4.5 upgrade

I am having a problem sending emails after upgrading to handheld software v4.5.  I only have a yahoo and blackberry email accounts.  When ever I try to send an email it tells me that I do not have "message services configured."  I am getting email no problem.
    Any suggestion would be appreciated.
    Thanks

Try to following from the device. Go into Options | Advanced Options | Host Routing Table. In this screen, hit the menu button, choose Register Now. See if you receive a registration message. If you do, perform a hard reset (remove the battery for 30 seconds). After the device reboots try to send an email

  • Email problem after upgrading to ios 8.1.3

After upgrading to ios 8.1.3 my wife and I are having problems with our separate iPods downloading email messages from our Hotmail accounts.  Synchronisation can be slow, sometimes doesn't happen, and at other times the header information downloads but a message says the content could not be downloaded from the server.  Swiping down to do an email refresh doesn't solve it.  Closing down the email app and switching the iPod off and on does cause the message to download properly.  Of course it could be a MSN/Hotmail problem, but it seems suspicious it has coincided with the 8.1.3 upgrade.  As a cold reboot solves the problem, I think it is a problem with ios 8.1.3.

I have this exact problem with gmail and have been unable to solve it. I checked my account, smtp settings, everything is as it should be. I deleted my account (twice!), and then added it back in. No help.
The problem however didn't appear right away for me on my ipad (3e gen). It occurred rather spontaneously in the last week of february.
Strangely, it recognizes my account, and I can send e-mails with it. So the problems seems to be on the receiving side. It recognizes the structure of my gmail, but all the folders are empty. On my iphone 5 I do not have this problem.
My workaround for now: download the google gmail app and use that to check my mail. Sending still works with the ipad mail app. But it is frustrating not being able to use this to receive mail.

  • Startup problems after battery change

My G4 Desktop, now getting on for 6 years old, but working perfectly until recently, needed a battery change on the mainboard as the clock was having problems. However this has led to startup problems: initially, following the startup chord, the computer wouldn't start at all. After some online digging, I found references to the CUDA button/zapping the PRAM. I can now restart by resetting CUDA, but the computer usually won't restart or even start from power off, meaning I have to go back to the CUDA button every time. The computer also fails to recognize the installed RAM, except for 128MB, corresponding to one of three RAM strips.
Apart from the battery, the only other likely contributing factors are that the computer's been shipped internationally recently (however, it was professionally packed and shipped, and made its first restart after this move without problems). The other potential factor is the switch in voltage, from 240 to 110, but that was handled normally by switching over on the back of the case.
I would really appreciate any advice that can help me get this old clunker back in action, and with all RAM recognized. Nice as an upgrade would be, it's not a strong option for me at the moment, and I'm otherwise satisfied with the G4 anyway.

    Hi, Yukiguni!
You sure have an interesting problem...
You might review Texas Macman's tutorial at the following link:
    http://www.geocities.com/texas_macman/pram.html
I'd check that replacement battery with a voltmeter to insure that it's good. ("New" isn't necessarily synonymous with "fresh".)
You might try completely de-energizing your Mac. In the link above, there's a Tip just above the Battery section that refers to what to do when sometimes computers lose their mind. This procedure oftentimes works to reset a PMU/CUDA that seems to refuse to reset properly and retain the correct startup parameters.
If you can get the Mac to boot from disk again, you might run the Apple Hardware Disk. Definitely run Repair Disk from the install disk if you haven't already done so and can get it to boot from disk. (You might try booting to the Startup Manager by holding down the option key at startup and trying to select the disk from there. Your best bet for success is to do so just after resetting the CUDA/PMU.)

  • How do I delete my iCloud account that is storing an old email address after I changed by Apple ID?

I changed my Apple ID online to a new email address, but now my iCloud account on my iPhone still has the old email address when it prompts me for a login.  I can't change the email address, so I want to delete it, but I can't delete it without a password and the password for my new Apple ID doesn't work.  I am forwarding my emails from the old email address to the new, but when I request a reset on my password, nothing shows up.

If the old ID is yours, and if your current ID was created by editing the details of this old ID (rather than being an entirely new ID), go to https://appleid.apple.com, click Manage my Apple ID and sign in with your current iCloud ID.  Click edit next to the primary email account, change it back to your old email address and save the change.  Then edit the name of the account to change it back to your old email address.  You can now use your current password to turn off Find My iPhone, even though it prompts you for the password for your old account ID. Then save any photo stream photos that you wish to keep to your camera roll.  When finished go to Settings>iCloud, tap Delete Account and choose Delete from My iPhone when prompted (your iCloud data will still be in iCloud).  Next, go back to https://appleid.apple.com and change your primary email address and iCloud ID name back to the way it was.  Now you can go to Settings>iCloud and sign in with your current iCloud ID and password.

  • EMAIL problem after installing 10.10.2

I noticed that an email I sent out last night (through gmail) had not gone out.  I also noticed that one of my emails had an image that wouldn't download.  The email was there, but not the image.  I got the circle, and eventually a timeout notice.  I can't delete the email in question; it just comes back.  Any idea what might be going on here?  My other three accounts are working okay -- or at least it seems so.
    TIA
