Email through exchange account is not sending but I am receiving

Having issue with exchange email account. I'm able to receive but not send emails. Any solutions? I've deleted and added account back. All settings appear to be in order. Appreciate the help.

You may want to check with your IT department to see if you're putting in the correct settings.

What version of Exchange Server are you trying to connect to?
Entourage can connect to Exchange Server 2003, but Outlook 2011 cannot. With Outlook 2011, you need at least Exchange Server 2007.
If you happen to be trying to connect to Exchange Server 2003 with Outlook 2011, then two typical workarounds are:
- If IMAP is turned on on Exchange Server 2003 -- it's off by default -- you can connect via IMAP rather than Exchange.
- If you don't have IMAP but have Outlook Web Access, then you can use DavMail as a workaround.

Sending photos from iPad to company email through Exchange and Outlook

When sending emails with attached photos from my iPad to other employees using outlook off our exchange server, the photos sometimes show up as attachments (good thing) and sometimes display in the body of the email not as attachments (useless)
My iDevices are all using the mail app and are synced with my company email through exchange. This issue only appears from iDevice's and is random.
We also have Android devices in the company and they do not have this issue.
All emails originate from my devices as new mail and I have tried to copy past the photos and also sharing them directly from the gallery. I also have issues with FWD email with attachments but I am familiar with these issues and and some workarounds.
Our server was just upgraded to the newest available specs 3 months ago, prior we could not send any images from iDevices.
When the photos show up in the body without attachments is makes saving them very inconvenient and at times they wont save at all. This feature is a real issue die to the way we are required to transfer info to our client.
Any assistance is appreciated.

Thanks Joe. We have discovered from this forum, actually, that if you send the photos from the iPhone, if that's where they were taken, then you are asked what size.
"If you send from the camera, then you get the option of reducing the size. If you send from your other photos synced from your computer, they don't have that option of reducing."
I tested it by sending a couple of photos taken by my iPhone, and sure enough, was asked as to size. Then sent the same two photos from my iPad (Photostream) and was not asked. Interestingly though, the sizes were identical in both emails.

Sorry to hear you are not able to send emails from your Hotmail account. Sending emails is a very important feature of the iPhone, and the fourth section in the following tutorial has steps for checking your Outgoing Mail Server settings.

TS3276 Ever since I upgraded to OSX Lion I have not been able to receive email from Comcast. I can send but not receive. I have dealt with Comcast on several occassions and after trying all the usual remedies they cannot get it to work.

You can do this however not sure I would recommend that since if people complain they are getting spammed it could effect your production servers domain/IP, i.e. it could get black listed. Personally I always recommend using a different system for
email blast to protect my production IP addresses and also to keep the load off of exchange as well as email marketing systems have built in capabilities for reporting, opt in/out capabilities etc.
All of that said perhaps you can tell us more about what exactly it is you want to do and how often?

Try this first - Reset the iPad by holding down on the Sleep and Home buttons at the same time for about 10-15 seconds until the Apple Logo appears - ignore the red slider - let go of the buttons. (This is equivalent to rebooting your computer.)
Or this - Delete the account in Mail and then set it up again. Settings->Mail, Contacts, Calendars -> Accounts Tap on the Account, then on the red button that says Remove Account.

Email (name) keyboard shortcut does not send on my Q10

I'm not sure if anyone has this issue. I use shortcut Email (name) and the Q10 pulls up a Compose screen where I can write a new email, can add Send To, etc., but when I click SEND, it does not send. I notice the Account field is missing my email account. and the SEND button is grey-ed out. but my email account is already set up in the Hub.
Is there something I forgot to set?

SMTP is the protocol used to send mail, where IMAP and POP are the protocols used to receive mail. ISPs can have different servers for these protocols.
In this case, the specified receiving (IMAP or POP) server, or the receiving user and password credentials, are likely incorrect.
What does the Connection Doctor diagnostic tool report?
Mail.app's Window menu > Connection Doctor
To check or change the settings, select Mail.app's Mail menu > Preferences... > Accounts and select the account you need to edit in the left column.
The receiving information will be displayed for the selected Account, with either POP or IMAP shown. Confirm with the ISP that your POP or IMAP mail settings are correct per the ISP's recommendations, as well. And in general, IMAP is preferable to POP, if you have the option of using either of those with your ISP.

Did you purchase the phone from someone? B/c if you don;t know the info for the person's apple id then you will not be able to get access to that info and you can't do the updates for those apps

Clearly there's something wrong with the configuration. Reverting to some other mail application (whatever the 'standard' one is...) won't help.

Chances are your username/password for your SMTP server are incorrect.
