Email wont download automatically anymore

I have an iPhone4 with a Microsoft Exchange 2003 email.
Emails used to download automatically until a few days ago - now they have to be downloaded manually.
'Push' is on - I have turned it off & on, deleted and recreated my email account, contacts and calendars.
Battery life has also decreased to a few hours.
Any help would be great

My iCloud account, it was working perfectly on the iPhone, it was only when I loaded the cloud onto the MacBook that things stopped working. My Mac account downloads only on to the iPad, not the MacBook or iPhone, or pc
I do hope you can help, I am sure it is just a box I have to tick or un-tick!

Email wont download

my 3gs with os4 stopped downloading email from aol. My yahoo acct works ok. I can send mail ok. When trying to downlaod it shows loadbar and # of emails waiting but just stays stuck. My other i phone working ok. Google search of this issue has a lot of hits. Appears to be a fairly common issue, but so far recommended fixes not working. Something obviously corrupted in phone. Have deleted and relaoded aol, cleaned out trash etc to no avail. ?????

My Apple devices wont download apps anymore. Please help!

I have the iPod Touch 5th generation and iPad 2nd generation. Since about a week ago, I haven't been able to download any apps on either device. In the app store, I'll tap 'Install', it'll ask for my apple ID, the usual. It loads untill it say 'Open' (still in the app store), but when you tap 'Open' nothing happens. When you go to the home screen, you'll see that the app actually didn't download and is no where to be found. Both devices are up to date on software updates (iOS 7.1.2) and iCloud backups. I have tried logging in and out of my iTunes account. I have never had this problem before (I've had my iPod for over a year and the iPad for 6 months). PLEASE help if you can! I really need this fixed as soon as possible. Thanks in advance!

Try the following on one device. If it's successful, do the same for the other.
Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button together for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings
If that doesn't help, tap Settings > General > Reset > Reset Network Settings
You will have to re enter your Wi-Fi password.
No data is lost due to a reset.

New versions of swf files wont download automatically?!

Let's say I have a main swf file. If I edit that and upload,
chances are good that it will be re-downloaded on my client's
browsers when they refresh. However, if that swf then loads a swf
using "loadMovie()" that has been edited and uploaded, the browser
(safari 2.03 / Firefox 1.5 on Mac or pc) will not go and get the
latest version. It will display the cached swf file?!?! I have

GMT">" on all of the html pages to (I thought) force the browser
to redownload all content, including all swf files.
What can I do to ensure that external swf's loaded with

This has been a thorn in my side for a while now. It doesn't
happen all the time, but enough where it is extremely frustrating
and embarrasing to try and explain to the client. I am using Flash

Interesting. Could it be happening because I don't have the Flash Player installed on my Mac? (Hadn't gotten around to that yet since buying this Mac, and wanted to research a bit first to understand this whole Apple vs. Flash issue...)
So could it be that since I don't have Flash Player installed, a misconfigured web server is downloading the .swf file to my mac directly?
Sorry if these are all stupid questions; I feel a bit stupid being so new to the Mac world. But could this also be related to the news today of this flashback trojan?

IPod Touch wont download podcasts anymore

Up until last Friday I would download my daily podcasts directly to my iPod Touch(Third Generation) via wifi connection by clicking on the "Get More Episodes" link at the bottom of each podcast list in my music folder on my ipod. For some reason it has stopped listing the newest episodes for all of my podcasts, even when I look up them in iTunes on my iPod. Has this been happening to anyone else? Any solutions? Has Apple changed something to disable this ability? The "Get More Episodes" link is still listed under each podcast.

Some of these problems do not seem to be the same. Here is the problem I am experiencing, which I believe to be the same problem the original poster listed:
I used to be able to download podcasts directly to my first-generation iPhone. Now, when i go to one of my favorite podcasts and click on "Get More Episodes...," no episodes are listed. Instead, what I see is the number of reviews, the star rating, and "More from this provider."
The only thing I recall doing that might have affected this is disconnecting the payment account from my iTunes account, but when I linked it back up it didn't fix the problem, so I'm not sure what caused this, nor do I know how to fix it.
I tried synching, and that did not fix it either.
Is anyone else experiencing this problem?

It sounds like your Mail application is not checking for mail automatically anymore after updating to 10.10.2. It seems to me that the setting for this may have reset, or changed at some point thereafter so I would check the preferences for the Mail application:
General preferences - Mail Help
Check for new messages
When Mail gets new messages from the mail server. By default, the option is set to Automatically (Mail varies how often it gets messages, based on whether your Mac is plugged into an electrical outlet).
An IMAP account may get messages more frequently if the mail server supports the IDLE command; make sure the option to use it is selected in the account’s Advanced pane in Mail preferences.
If you set the option to Manually, click the Get Mail button in the Mail toolbar to check for messages. (Whenever you click an IMAP or Exchange mailbox, it syncs with the server, and shows new messages.)

How do I get internet files/email attachments to automatically download when I open them again?

Hi - I was wondering of someone could help. I recently installed Adobe Reader... and very quickly regretted it. I deleted it but found that in Safari I could no longer open PDFs (I got a black screen instead). Following advice in the forums, I deleted the two Adobe plugins I found in Library. This worked and I am now able to view PDFs through Safari again. However...
Before all this happened, whenever I opened an attachment in Mail or an online document (PDF, Word etc.), it was automatically saved to my downloads folder. Since the events detailed above, this no longer happens - I have to save documents manually. I'd be really grateful if anyone can help me make it download automatically again...
Any ideas?

Emails wont stop downloading help

My emails keep downloading again and again since yesterday and its driving me mad! I delete them once read but then they download again and there is about 10 of the same email each time so my inbox is over the 1000 mark at the moment!
Can anyone tell me how to stop this please?

Hi. Welcome to the forums.
This sounds like it might be an Outlook account corruption.
You may like to try creating another account in Outlook, with the same details - but make sure that the option to "leave a copy of messages on server" is ticked (if that's what is already set) before trying to receive emails. You can speficy which account to receive emails by a drop down arrow near send/receive.

Afrojack Forget the world pre-ordered album thats now out wont download!

Hi I've pre-ordered Afrojacks new album forget the world and I've got 3 songs from the album that were available to download at the time but the rest wont download it just comes up with purchased but no download button and i just think that this is unfair because I've paid the money and now my songs aren't coming through! It sounds like you pre ordered an album, but for some reason it hasn't downloaded to your library. Start by checking for any available downloads with this:
Download a pre-ordered item
When a pre-ordered item becomes available, you will receive an email letting you know that you can download your pre-order.
If you enabled the option to automatically download prepurchased content in iTunes, then your pre-ordered content may already be in your library. If not, click the download link provided in your email notification, and your pre-ordered content will begin to download. You can also use the Check for Available Downloads feature in iTunes on your computer (choose Store > Check for Available Downloads) to begin downloading your pre-order.

Some email is downloaded into Mail and some mail is left on the POP server

Hi All,
I have a weird problem where some email is downloaded into Mail and some mail is not.
If I log into our ISP's webmail system, there are a whole bunch of emails that are just sitting there. These emails have not ever been downloaded to Mail.
I've tried to create a duplicate account, but Mail doesn't allow the same username & password in more than one account, which is kind of frustrating - I get an error stating that these user details are already in use.
Our ISP says it's the client machine, as no one else in the office is having this issue.
The connection doctor can connect to the servers and 30 or 40 emails are downloaded to Mail each day - just some emails don't.
Does anyone have any suggestions?

Assuming the account is a POP type account, quit Mail first and using the Finder go to Home > Library > Mail > this POP account named folder (named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account) > MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded2.
Delete the MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded2 file and empty the Trash.
Launch Mail and a new MessageUidsAlreadyDownloaded2 file will be created automatically by Mail within the account named folder.
If successful, any previously downloaded messages that remain on the server will be downloaded again along with any messages available on the server not yet downloaded by Mail.
The reason you cannot create two accounts in Mail with the same user name and incoming mail server is based on the account and associated mailbox filing structure within the Mail folder at Home > Library > Mail. When creating an account in Mail, an account named folder is created at the first level within the Mail folder named by the user name and incoming mail server for the account.
In addition, if this were possible I don't think it would resolve much by having identical accounts created in Mail with both accounts checking the incoming mail server at the same time.

Email attachment download query

My apologies if this question has been answered before.
I've been running a few tests on my iPhone 3GS. I have 5 email accounts set up on it. 3 of those accounts are pop, 1 is an imap account (gmail) and 1 an exchange account.
The pop accounts will completely download attachments (even if MBs in size) where as the Exchange Server and Gmail accounts will only download the email text and allow me to choose whether I download the attachment or not if the attachment is too large (usually > 100kb).
My question is, how can I get the Exchange Server/Gmail behaviour to occur on the pop accounts? I do not want attachments of over a few hundred KB downloading automatically on the pop accounts!

Are you certain your PC is not infected with a virus or some malaware? Have you run these programs to clean your system? You may also want to clean out your temp files, cookies, history, etc. See if that helps. Also which browser are you using when these issues occur?

How can I download automatically only new images from my camera?

I share my card with my wife and she likes to download our images also on her PC, so erasing all images is not an option.
It seems that earlier version of adobe photo downloader has the feature "copy only new files" , but V10 does not.

Don’t you format the card in the camera after each download? That will wipe all images and prepare the card for a fresh shoot.

Hi topo123,
When the printer will not power on, we recommend the following:
1. Ensure that the printer is plugged directly into a wall outlet instead of going through a surge protector that is plugged into a wall outlet, as sometimes ports on a surge protector may no longer work, even if other ports on the protector do work.
2. Unplug the power cord from the back of the printer and from the wall outlet/surge protector and leave them out for at least 10 minutes, then plug it back in to try and reset the printer.
3. Try plugging the printer into another power outlet in a different area of the room, or another room if possible.
4. If you have another power cord you can use with the printer, please see if using that power cord will allow the printer to
power on.
If the printer still does not turn on after following the above steps, it will require servicing. Please call or email us using one of the methods on the Contact Us page for servicing options.
