Embedded html font removes spaces!

I have a dynamic html textField which has embedded fonts.
When I provide it with html, it is displaying formatted text
(italic, bold, underline, etc) incorrectly. it removes a space
directly in front of the formatted word.
e.g. unformatted:
hello world
formatted:
hello
World
I have tried placing the space inside and outside the format
tag and it makes no difference. Switching off the embed makes the
field display correctly, however my client wants embedded,
anti-aliased text.
This seems to occur quite randomly so that some formatted
text in the same textfield does not display incorrectly, while some
does!
There are font symbols for all my formatted fonts in the
library.
Can anyone shed some light?

Is the SPACE character included as well?

    Does Robohelp have the "Remove Space after paragraph" button for reducing the space between lines, like the one in Word?

    In HTML the space after is controlled by the style in your CSS file. You need to edit the style in the Style Editor.

  • Why does embedding Adobe fonts in EPUB cause all text to display as oblique?

    I have been having this problem for a while now to various degrees, and I stopped using InDesign to build and export EPUB files for a long time because of it. Lately I have decided to try reintroducing InDesign into my EPUB workflow. However, I have found that whenever I try to export an EPUB 2 file from InDesign CC 2014.1 while embedding Adobe fonts, all the text in the EPUB displays as oblique when I open the resulting file in Sigil or Calibre. Removing and then re-adding the fonts with no obfuscation does not correct the issue. Not embedding the fonts during export -- or removing them from the EPUB entirely -- eliminates the display problem, but obviously I can't expect people to have these fonts installed on their computers.
    I do believe most Adobe font licenses allow for embedding, so I don't think this is a security issue. For the sake of this discussion the issue I am having is with Arno Pro OTF (Regular, Italic, Bold).
    I can't find anything about this on the web. Can anyone help me with this issue, or has anyone else experienced this at least?
    Thanks!
    Allen

    Here's another piece of information to add to the puzzle. The first screenshot is from Calibre on an PC with Windows 8.1 (using Google Chrome as default search engine). The second is from Calibre on a Mac with Yosemite 10.10.1 (using Safari 8.0.2 as default search engine). Both with the same ePub file created on CC2014 on the Mac using Arno Pro for the Latin text, Adobe Song for Chinese, and Deja Vu Sans for the Hexagram

  • Embedding Adobe fonts in a folio: any issues?

    Adobe's font licensing terms/faq don't seem to address embedding Adobe fonts in a DPS folio.
    I'm assuming that folio-embedding terms will be the same as PDFs -- that is, fonts that are okay for print and preview embedding in a PDF are okay for folios, too.
    Is there an official policy for folio embedding? Anyone have this issue come up already?
    Thanks!

    There's actually two issues here that need attention. If you're just outputting to default DPS folios then the pages become for all intents and purposes images so there's no real font-related issues. The more difficult area is if you're embedding your own html files that use Adobe fonts. I'd imagine things get more coplicated here.

  • Removing spaces in a value

    What is the easiest way to remove the spaces form a string or replace them with underscore i.e. change "The red car" to "Theredcar" or "Theredcar"?
    Thanks.
    Pedro

    I realize you have a lot of excellent responses to this question already!! Some serious AppleScript-gun-slinging going on in this thread, I like!!
    Just to throw another method into the mix:
    <pre style="margin:0px;padding:5px;border:2px dotted green;width:630px; height:auto;color:#ffffff;background-color:#000000;overflow-x:auto;overflow-y:h idden;font-family:Verdana, Monaco, monospace;font-weight:bold;font-size:12px;"
    title="Copy this text and paste it into your Script Editor application.">set theDog to display dialog "Enter the text to manipulate below:" default answer ¬
    "The red car" buttons ¬
    {"Cancel", "Remove Spaces", "Replace With Underscores"} default button 3
    set {theText, theButton} to {text returned of theDog, button returned of theDog}
    if theButton is "Remove Spaces" then
    set theDelimiter to ""
    else
    set theDelimiter to "_"
    end if
    do shell script "echo " & quoted form of theText & ¬
    "|awk 'gsub(\" \",\"" & theDelimiter & "\") {print}'"</pre>
    Now you've got plenty to choose from and all these different approaches serve their own great purpose!! Happy scripting! Remember, there are always many different ways to achieve the results you're looking for.

  • Removing spaces from multiple files

    I'm using iWeb to make a photogallery, and when i publish to my server on yahoo, it says there is an error. Now i've had tons of errors and problems with yahoo, and i've come to the conclusion that this problem is because the file names have spaces, and yahoo's servers don't like spaces. So, i was wondering how one would go about removing spaces in file names of multiple files in a folder.

    Don't forget that this won't fix any links within the pages themselves.
    If you have a link to "some page.html" and the script renames the file 'some_page.html', you'll need to manually update the links in the page to the new file name before the link will work.

  • Embeded html

    Hi,
    I have some embeded html in my flash 8 file. This is the code
    for the text file:
    myData = new LoadVars();
    myData.onLoad = function() {
    myText.html=true;

  • [JLabel] HTML + Font

    Hi,
    I have a JLabel in which I use HTML to color my text (the color is not the same for all the text)?
    ex :
    JLabel label = new JLabel("<html><body>font color='blue'>hi</font> to <font color='red'>you</font></body></html>);
    Then, I set a customized font that I load dynamically:
    InputStream inputFont = this.getClass().getResourceAsStream("my_font.ttf");
    Font font = Font.createFont(Font.TRUETYPE_FONT, inputFont);
    MY_FONT = font.deriveFont(24f);
    label.setFont(MY_FONT);
    *My problem is:*
    When I do that, the font is not applied (problably because of HTML font tags). I just see for a moment my font with the HTML tags, and when the HTML is parsed, the default font comes back. I've tried to change <font> by <span>, it does just the same)
    When I remove HTML tags from my JLabel, like new JLabel("plop") and apply my customized font, I have no problem and my font is applied (but I don't have the colors that I want).
    Problem is I want both of it! My customized font AND colors.
    Do you know how to do that?
    I hope I made myself clear,
    Thanks :)

    I've been playing with this a bit more with very peculiar results.

  • Embedded Tabs And Extra Spaces Dropped In Text

    1. When I copy text with embedded tabs or xxtra spaces between words from a TXT file into the    TextBox of the Email using clipboard, the Email converts all tabs into single space and removes   all extra spaces between words into one single space between words messing up my formatting of   text in the message to be sent. Have to manually clean up the formatting to match the text in the   original TXT file when I use ComCast Email. This problem does not occur when I use  OutLook. ComCast Email should NOT remove embedded tabs or xxtra spaces between words.  This problem needs to be fixed in ComCast Email. 2. I can insert tab characters in the Email TextBox of OutLook. I cannot do it in ComCast Email.   When a cursor is in the TextBox of the Email, it should allow one to insert tabs in the TextBox.   Instead, it treats tab keys to jump out of the TextBox and go to the next object in the EMail form.   When a cursor is NOT in the TextBox, then tab keys can be used to jump to the next Object in the   EMail form. Outlook works this way. Please respond on this issue ASAP. Thnak U very much. God bless. Mike.

    hi
    thank you for ur answer,
    i removed the extra line space, but still i have a problem on this report, when it is opening in the text format thier is a junk character appearing instead of the page break, it is a small box with character symbol of "FF" , i donot know from where this character comming, how to remove it?
    is there another way of opening the text result directly from the "view output" option other than opining it in the browser and then save as text?

  • JEditorPane displays html font very large.

    I have a JEditroPane embedded into a JScrollPane. The url for the EditorPane is an html file. It laods and displays. However, my html font is set to 8 but what is displayed appears to be at 12 point or higher. Is there a way to alter the font size of the html text displayed inside the JEditorPane?
    Thanks.

    Can anyone explain how to change the font size for the
    entire html document set to the JEditorPane? The
    default size is too large and any attmept to perform a
    setFontSize fails.
    Thanks.I'm posting this to save you time by letting you give up hope on finding some simple solution to your problem.
    There may not be any.
    I've just tried loading my html file into a JEditorPane and all characters appear in default regular size. It seems JEditorPane is not processing any stylesheets info which I use to define all text attributes.
    The API document says:
    "text/html
    HTML text. The kit used in this case is the class javax.swing.text.html.HTMLEditorKit which provides HTML 3.2 support. "
    3.2 is pretty old, isn't it? What's the HTML version you used to create your HTML files?
    How do you set font size in your html files? A sample html file from Sun for a Text demo program uses the following and it seems to work:
    <font size=-2>from</font> a
    <font size=+2">URL</font>
    If you decide to modify your existing HTML files, use the above format.
    (Wait! Why do we need to modify perfectly working html files to make them appear normal in Java programs? It should be the other way around! :D)

  • Web Intelligence: Save Report as PDF and with embedded HTML code

    Hi all.
    Sorry but I'm not able to find any post about this matter, please feel free to provide links if you know existing topics about this problem.
    We created a beautiful report with HTML5 code embedded into a blank cell and we are now trying to export it in a printable format (e.g.: PDF or HTML).
    As you know (as per manual information) it is not possible to export a report with embedded HTML code and keeping it in the output (cell with embedded HTML code is rendered blank).
    My question is: is there a known workaround or an alternative solution to export the report and keep its content?
    Print screen is not a valid option :-P
    Thanks for the support or any suggestions

    Thanks!

    You might consider giving the letter a negative baseline shift and aligning it to centre.
    That way you can adjust it so that its anchor point coincides with the centre of the hexagon.
    Like this:
    Another thing: You may find it easier working with type if you hide bounding boxes.
