Embedding iPix images

Hi all,
I am embedding an iPix image (.ipx) into a page and when I
preview it locally, it works, but when I upload to my host it does
not. Having checked it with IE it shows a file access error.
Any ideas anyone?
My code is below. The IpixViewer.class, IpixViewer.jar and
the .ipx files are all in the same directory as the containing
page.
TIA,
Paul

totally random guess; check what mime type header is sent
when the .ipx file
is requested.

  • How to find out embedded raster image is Black&White or Color image?

    Is there any possibility to find out the embedded raster image is Black&White, Gray image (or) Color image in "illustrator cs3" without using color mode shown in "document info" pannel. Kindly advice me, the possibilities and solution. And also any scripts avilable for this?
    Thanks.

    Or you could select the embedded image, and open the Window>Document Info panel. Select Embedded Images from the fly out menu on the Document Info panel. This should give you the color mode and more info on the embedded file in question.

  • Embedding GIF image

    Hello!
    Is there any convenient way to embed GIF image into flash
    file? Embedding JPG image was easy using HTML <img> tag, but
    that does not seem to work with GIF.
    The reason I need this, so the argument ?image could be
    passed to flash file and the image inside flash would switch
    according to the passed argument (without editing .FLA file
    itself).
    Thank you in advance!

    ok - the real problem here is that you are using the 'actual'
    file as it loads to act as the preloader - in this case the
    majority of the file will load previous to the preloader initiating
    anything because it will not function until the file is
    instantiated. a much better way of handling this is to use the
    MovieClipLoader class and create a 'loading' swf file that IS the
    preloader, which in turn 'loads' the actual swf. you then use the
    onLoadProgress handler of the MCL class to control the events of
    the load and then you can initiate the opening methods in the load
    file using the onLoadInit handler.
    so you would make a file that is the same size as the main
    file, then place your preloader assets and code constructs for the
    options you're using within that file - call mcl.loadClip() and
    load the 'main' swf in that way. the preloader should then only be
    a few k at the most and load almost instantly, and show the
    progress properly. this is the best way to go when dealing with
    large files.

  • Save as SVG degrading the embedded raster images

    I would like to know if the following issue is a bug:
    I have a file that contains a background raster image (embedded JPEG) and few vector graphics objects drawn on top of it.
    After I save this file as pure SVG (no AI information, so I don't check the Preserve Illustrator Editing Capabilities check box ), I notice a slight degradation of the raster image (for instance, the image border pixels look like being interpolated with the white background). If I save this SVG as an AI file (and no compression), and repeat the Save as SVG, the image degrades even more. So, with each iteration AI -> pure SVG -> AI, the background embedded raster image (JPEG) looks worse and worse.
    I use AI CS3 13.0.2.
    Thanks,
    Matei

    Matei, temp,
    There is a wellknown issue of degrading JPEGs every time they are reinterpreted.
    Therefore, JPEGs should always be kept and used unaltered, if possible.
    And then there is the alignment issue:
    >(for instance, the image border pixels look like being interpolated with the white background).
    Have you made sure that the JPEGs are aligned with the pixels of the Artboard before saving?

  • Embedding an image works only for a few times, then I need to resize.

    Hi all
    I am trying to use an image and I am having the following problem:
    - the image is a png, 2000x2464 pixels
    - I embed the image
    - Everything works OK during the first few tries
    - After some debugging session, without changing anything in the image embedding, the image isn't loaded anymore, or better, it seems loaded ( in the variables I see the istance of my class and it is not null) but the bitmapdata of the image is null, width and height are 0.
    - Now, I resize the image to something smaller and i start again. Everything works fine again and the cycle begins again !
    Here's the code:
    In the declarations of the class containing the image:
            [Embed(source = "images/italyMapZOUT.png")]
            [Bindable]
            var mapClass:Class;
            var map:Bitmap;
    In the initialization method that i call after construction:
            map  = new mapClass();
            var bdata:BitmapData = map.bitmapData;
            var myRatio:Number = someNumber / map.width;
    It seems to me that I am embedding the image as described in zillions of sites and it is actually working... for some times ! Then , after say 5 or 6 debugging sessions, I get an error evaluating "someNumber" because width is zero, and checking the local variable I see that bitmapData is null.
    Resizing to a smaller image , saving said image and restarting solves the issue temporarily.
    Any idea what's happening ?
    Thank you very much !
    Wentu

    The backlight still seems to be working (so goes from lit to darkened), but it sounds like the LCD is not working.
    If you did a Restore and the problem is not resolved, it is likely to be a hardware-related problem, unfortunately.

  • Corrupt image formatting when creating pdf from embedded visio image in MS word

    Hello, Using Adobe Acrobat 9 standard and trying to create a PDF file from an MS word (version 2003) document.  PDF file created is fine except for an image (embedded visio diagram imported into word).  When created in PDF, the image is missing many of the diagram labels, and other text boxes are in the wrong font and wrong location.  I don't know if it's my Adobe Acrobat or MS Word settings that need to be updated.
    thanks, NB

    Dear fellows,
    the problem is still present.  My system:Windows 7 32-Bit Prof, MS Office 2010 Prof, Acrobat X Pro 10.1.1, Vision 2010 Prof, all updates installed.
    Problem #1: Even the latest Acrobat X 10.1.1 version causes Visio 2010 to start with error messages, origin: the Acrobat Add-In.  Therefore I de-activated the Acrobat Add-In, again, as in the past.
    As I design grafics with Visio 2010, I mark them in the active Visio window, copy the marked parts and then insert them into my Word-Document.  So far, so good and as I want it.
    The (still present) problem: I can produce a PDF file using the "save as Adobe PDF", but the Visio drawing is incomplete and corrupt.  E.g. arrows as line endings have disappeared.
    PS: But using Adobes PDF printer sets the embedded Visio drawing correctly!  But using the printer one looses some features of the "save as Adobe PDF" command.
    Well, probably one day ...
    Regards,
    Rückenlehne.

  • QR code embedded into images?

    Saw something in a magazine the other day: photos of products with a "smart phone" icon and caption saying "Scan this photo to be shown a video (or product info)."
    Am I right in thinking that some kind of QR-type code is embedded within the printer dots of those photographs? And, can we produce such images in Photoshop (CS6)?
    thanks for any info!
    w

    So you want to read the barcode and get the info? You can use a barcode reader. If you your cellphone does not have this function, you can download one barcode reader from this site: http://www.onbarcode.com/products/iphone_barcode/。 This is a good barcode site. I am now using their tool to create barcode in ASP.NET using VB.NET.

  • Problem in embedding Multiple Images

    Dear members,
    I am composing a mail in java mail. In the body i am trying to embed (Note: Not attach) three images files. But, only the first image is getting embedded. Other 2 images are only getting attached, not coming as embedded images.I tried various options like changing Mime subtype, setting disposition as inline, etc... But nothing worked. I am pasting the code here. Any help is high appreciated.

    Here's a screenshot from Apple Mail 7.0
    The images get embeded with phpMailer so the source may looks slightly different but the width attributes will remain.
    Only the first embedded image is affected
    I did a testrun with Litmus and all other mails works as expected. Even Apple Mail 5 and Apple Mail 6
    Is this a bug in Apple Mail or do I miss something?

    I wonder if this is the same problem that I encounter:
    I receive faxes in my inbox as tiff files and before Mavericks I could view them properly in-line .. but now only the first one I go to displays correctly .. all other received faxes show this same image.
    If I "open" the attachment it is properly displayed .. but in-line it is always the same image that displays .. the first one that I go to when opening Mail.
    As far as I can see it is only tiffs sent by my fax-to-email service that show up improperly .. other in-line attachments such as PDF's seem unaffected and display correctly.
    I thought that it was related to the coverflow issue that was fixed by the 10.9.1 update .. but no such luck.

  • Embedding same images across multiple components, best practices?

    Hi Guys,
    Once again a great forum.
    I have a fairly large dashboard application, built from many
    components, from an obvious maintenance point of view this is
    preferred.
    To keep the look and feel the same across each component I
    reuse a lot of the icons, this icons have 3 states, disabled,
    normal and hot(rollover)
    The mouse roll over and roll out are the same for each set of
    icons. At the moment I have each component embed each icon and
    repeat the functions.
    This is not the optimum way to do this so I'm looking on best
    practices. Should I build a separate action script package with all
    the embedded images and roll over/out functions. Then import that
    in to each component. But then I will embedded ALL the images in
    each component. Should I embed all the images in the main container
    app, then when flex sees the same image in a compoent will it not
    embedded again or will it embed the images again..
    In the example below 4 of the components have the same
    refresh icon and roll/over states. So this code is repeated (bad
    practice) in all 4. Moving to separate action-script package will
    make maintenance easier, but as stated above will just one copy get
    embedded for the entire app, or will 4 copies get embedded ?
    [Embed(source="images/refresh_24.png")]
    [Bindable]
    private var refreshIcon:Class;
    [Embed(source="images/refresh_24_hot.png")]
    [Bindable]
    private var refreshIconHot:Class;
    [Embed(source="images/refresh_24_dis.png")]
    [Bindable]
    private var refreshIconDis:Class;
    private function rollOverRefresh(event:Event):void {
    if (event.target.source != refreshIconDis )
    {event.target.source = refreshIconHot;}
    private function rollOutRefresh(event:Event):void {
    If (event.target.source != refreshIconDis )
    {event.target.source = refreshIcon;}
    }

    Flex is able to collate those Embeds so they are only
    included once IIRC.
    While it may seem like bad practice to include it in each
    component, it really isn't, from a code reusability standpoint. But
    you could probably continue on that path and create a custom
    component <mycontrols:RefreshButton> that has the the embeds
    in one place for you.
    You could probably also do something similar with style very
    easily:
    .MyButton {
    overSkin="@Embed(source='../assets/orb_over_skin.gif')"
    upSkin="@Embed(source='../assets/orb_up_skin.gif')"
    downSkin="@Embed(source='../assets/orb_down_skin.gif')"/>
    Then apply that style to your button.
    You could also put the button into a single SWF file in Flash
    and include it that way to reduce the number of embeds. I never
    include PNG, JPG, GIF, etc files directly, always SWF as you get
    better compression that way IMO. Plus I just find it gives me
    greater flexibility...if I want to animate my skins in the future
    (button that gleams for instance), I already have SWF's in my code
    so no need to change anything out but the SWF.

  • Embedding an image into Mail

    How exactly do you embed images (.jpeg) into a mail message so that it does not come up as an attachment?
    Gmail, outlook, yahoo mail, etc. all read attachments as an attachment that needs to be opened and only through Apple Mail can users see an attachment already opened (giving the appearance of an embedded image, but it's not).
    Any help on embedding images into Apple Mail (besides through using the signature)?

    I tried creating a Stationary but I am fairly new to Mail and am unfamiliar with creating it successfully. I create it, then it creates the Custom folder in which my stationary will not show up in the mail message. It will show up in the folder, I just am unable to get it to show up in the message. Is there a format to creating stationaries? Or perhaps a different way to embed images?

  • Mail embeds my images

    I have posted about this before, but thought i try again now that im on leopard and im STILL having this truly annoying problem.
    I am sending an email. I attach an image (jpg), make sure to click the windows friendly button since that is who i am sending to. I view as icon cause...i usually can't stand seeing them previewed inline. Its an attachment. all is right.
    I hit send. It is received and the image is no longer an attachment, rather it is embedded and can't be extracted.
    The only way to remedy it is to zip it and send that instead.
    WHY???? This only happens with jpegs but not all the time. maybe 50/50.
    It happens ALL the time when the image has been optimized for web, its like mail knows its been compressed for screen viewing.
    In my last post (see tiger mail forum) some replied make sure it is plain text, it is. Others said make sure the windows friendly is clicked, it is. Others said convert them to something else...other than zipping them this is NOT an option. They are jpgs for a reason and must stay jpgs. AND it feels ridiculous to zip a single file, or 3 files that add up to less than 25k...
    Sorry for any perceived snarkiness, I am just having a really busy day and now have to go back and resend the blasted thing...grrrrrrrrrrrrr
    thoughts??

  • Interactive PDF with embedded pages/images.

    Hi, all.
    I am working on an interactive PDF and have a question.
    It is my intention to provide an experience similar to that of navigating a website. I wish to have some hyperlinks that point to elements within the PDF file itself but don't wish those elements to be visible as regular pages of the document. Let me be more specific.
    I would like for my document to contain embedded documents and images that would not be visible when viewed page by page using a PDF viewer. However, these hidden documents would be viewed once the buttons with the hyperlinks pointing to them were pressed or clicked.
    Does it make sense ? I hope it does. How can this be done ?
    Thank you in advance,
    Joe.

    Thank you again, George.
    I understand you point. Preview is indeed very limited.
    Since I am on a Mac I am not sure what PDF viewer, if any, comes standard with a default Windows installation. In any regard, is there a way to set a PDF file so that it bypasses the user's setting and asks for Acrobat Reader (or Pro) when the user tries to open it ? In this case even if the viewer had Preview set as the default PDF reader the document would request to be opened with Acrobat. Is there a way to set this up in the document preferences ?
    I am reading about InDesign features to learn more about it thanks to your suggestions. Hopefully I will be able to set-up links/hyperlinks in a manner that allows me to accomplish my goals.
    Thank you again,
    Joe.

  • Embeded email images

    Let me apologize if this has been asked and answered a hundred times but I searched and couldn't find it.
    Does the email client on the iPhone support alternateviews? When I receive an email with an embedded image using an alternateview all I see is a question mark and no image. The image doesn't show up as an attachment in this case either.
    Thanks for any answers

    Thanks for the reply. Maybe my question should be does the iPhone email client support HTML messages with contentIds in them. Here's a sample of my VB .net code used to create and send the email message, this works for everything I've tested so far except for the iPhone:
    <!--
    Dim objLinkedRes As New LinkedResource(strInputPath & strImage)
    objLinkedRes.ContentId = "Image"
    Dim strHTMLBuild As String = "<div align='center'> *<img src='cid:Image' />*"
    </div>"
    Dim altPlainView As AlternateView = AlternateView.CreateAlternateViewFromString("Non-supported HTML", Nothing, "text/plain")
    Dim objAltView As AlternateView = AlternateView.CreateAlternateViewFromString(strHTMLBuild, New System.Net.Mime.ContentType("text/html"))
    objAltView.LinkedResources.Add(objLinkedRes)
    msgEmail.AlternateViews.Add(objAltView)
    msgEmail.To.Add(New MailAddress(strRecipients(intSender)))
