EMIGALL performance for migration object OBJCLASS

Hi all,
my previous question, was Classification of IFLOT & EQUI via CLB2 / CLB1  & was focused on improving performance of classification of IFLOT & EQUI objects.
Testing EMIGALL for migration object OBJCLASS I am seeing no performance gains between a single thread update & parallel update threads.  IE the single thread throughput is reported as ~the same as the parallel threads throughput combined.
I note in the job logs of my various tests;
for a single thread, that no messages are logged between the start & end of the migration.
for parallel threads, that message C4 200 'Class "CLASSNAMEHERE" is locked' appearing many times.
I don't see any unexpected migration errors in ether case.
Are there any insights on how I might improve over all throughput using this method? I cant see any control parameters for this object, nor does the Guideline have much information on OBJCLASS.
First world problems :-/

Hello Daniel,
Without having much insight into your system and infrastructure details or the volume that you are working with, I suggest for you to try below for performance improvement.
1. Run DB Statistics on functional location and Equipment related tables such as EQUI, IFLOT, ILOA, etc. (these are HLO objects that you are updating by way of classification). Also update classification table such as AUSP. These tables mentioned here as a starting point.
2. Also strongly suggest that a performance trace be done on this job to analyze and identify another table or steps that may be a performance bottleneck and maybe a candidate for DB statistics refresh Or some other corrective action.
3. The locks maybe occurring due to a mass update which is as expected. Perhaps to get by that you may want to use "commit buffering allowed" option for this migration object and set to say a number "10" or "20" to start with and see if it helps better the performance. As you would have noticed, locks will also impact performance.
4. Please also refer to Cookbook for ISUMIG Performance and refer to sections for DEVICE, CONNOBJ and DEVLOC. These are HLO objects for classification and there may be some useful insight in that document too.
Hope this helps.

  • Error message when searching for an object link within EasyDMS

    Hello,
I have a problem with the easydms system. Everything works fine except searching in the object links. When I want to define an object link and I don't know the name of the object I try to find it with the help of the search function within easydms (within the object links).
But the search always delivers an error message:
"Missing authorization check to display master data"
Does anybody now what to do?
    Thank you for your help.
    Best regards,
    Markus Sigl

    Hi Markus,
When you try to do this the  BAPI 'BAPI_HELPVALUES_GET' is used. There are some authorization checks that are being performed for the object. These authorizations are maintained in the table BAPIF4T.
For the above said test data, you are trying to get the help values for
the relevant field (e.g. EBELN: po_number).However,in table BAPIF4T the corresponding authorization for the data element ebeln is not maintained. And so you are getting this error.
So, when you maintain the below record in the table BAPIF4T,you will
have the corresponding authorization and you will not get the error
    anymore.
    sample entry:
    Object type - ' '
    Object type component - ' '
    BAPIF4T-DTEL - 'EBELN'
    BAPIF4T-FNAM - 'PLM_HELPVALUES_AUTHCHECK'
    Best regards,
    Christoph

  • Migration object for Aggregated Invoice

    Hi Experts,
Just wanted to know if there is any object to migrate Aggregated Invoice in deregulated market scenario in a distributor's system which updates field DFKKTHI-BCBLN.
We are able to migrate the open individual invoices of final customers as well as open aggregated invoice of the suppliers separately. But, we are unable to update the field Document Number of Posting to Service Provider Account (DFKKTHI-BCBLN) at the time migrating the aggregated invoice.
Unless we establish the link between the individual invoice & aggregated invoice in table DFKKTHI it will be difficult to process these open documents further for payment and posting of distribution lot.
If anyone has come across this situation please let us know if there is any migration object by which we can establish the link between the individual invoice & aggregated invoice in table DFKKTHI.
    Please advice
    Thanks & Regards

    Dear Naval Bhatt,
    The business objects:
    '<b>BUS1055</b>' - Accounts payable ledger
The business object Accounts payable ledger is ledger that is defined for the representation of accounting transactions with creditors.
It records values at company code level.
    '<b>BUS3008</b>' - Accounts payable account
The business object Accounts payable document is an accounting document that contains records on value movements in a company code that are relevant to accounts payable accounting.
Reward points if this is helpful. Close the thread if your query is resolved.

  • 30EA3- 2.*: Weird performance issues for editing objects

    Hi,
I noticed weird performance issues for editing objects: when right-clicking on them in the navigator tree and selecting Edit, you get the old progress dialog "Connected to database XXX". This stays on screen a lot longer than it ever did (last sequence I edited over 30 seconds!).
Cancelling displays a "Error retrieving schemas" dialog, but then opens the Edit dialog correctly. No further side effects noticed, so I think sqldev is adding useless overhead here.
If confirmed, can this be bugged and/or fixed by production?
    Thanks,
    K.

Yes, I mean in context of other hangs reported. This one is a nasty performance issue, but IMO the others are real show stoppers.
Atomic steps are easy; any* Edit (object) action inside the context menu of the navigator or the Edit button of the object viewer.
I took a lot of dumps (every second or so) and came to these findings:

  • About SQL Developer migration objects

    Hi all,
I'm using the SQL Developer Version 2.1.1.64 for Windows.
I've migrated a SQL Server 2005 database to Oracle.
Well, many objects was created, like triggers to emulate identity sql server, packages, MD* tables, and so on.
Well, I need to use all funcionality of Oracle without use these created objects only to migration.
Can I drop these objects? Any problem with this?
    Thank you very much!!!!

    Hi Tads,
There are two sets of objects created during a migration.
    1) The Migration Repository objects (MD_.... tables, MIGRATION & MD_META packages, MGV_ ... views ) and so on.
These objects are used by SQL Developer to perform the migration.
The tables hold the information about your captured and converted models and the packages perform some of the conversion.
These objects are created automatically for you when you Associate the migration repository with a connection.
Normally you would create a brand new schema (ex: migration_repo) , create a connection for it and Associate with this connection.
Then , after the migration is complete, you can drop that schema and all the repository objects with it.
Alternatively you can right click the connection again and choose, Delete Repository.
    2)Target Oracle objects.
These are the objects you have converted and generated into Oracle.
They include the tables,views,procedures,... that you have converted from your source database.
    They also include
    a) SQLSERVER_UTILITIES package, which helps emulate functions referenced in your stored procedures, triggers and views
    b) Oracle Global Temporary Tables, which replicate the temporary tables found in your SQL Server stored procedures
    c) Triggers and Sequences, used to emulate SQL Server identity columns
Well, I need to use all functionality of Oracle without use these created objects only to migration.
Can I drop these objects? Any problem with this?If you have associated your migration repository with the same schema as you have create your target objects in, then both sets of objects will be mixed.
You can right click on the connection and choose "Delete Migration Repository" to remove these objects.
The remaining objects should be left as is, unless you are confident you do not need them.
    Regards,
    Dermot.

  • SQL Server roles for migration

What specific SQL Server roles must be granted to the user connecting from Oracle SQL Developer in order to perform a migration? The SQL Developer Users Guide only says "This user must have DBA access to the Microsoft SQL Server database". I work in an extremely large environment with many separate DBA groups who are reluctant to grant the sysadmin role to anyone not in their group. I want to make sure I ask for all the necessary permissions at the same time so I only have to go through this fight once.
    Thanks
    Ron

    Hi Ron,
Thats wrong. When we put together the SQL Developer Migration Workbench. One of the main things that we thought about was your exact situation.
Today, we dont need SA/dba privs to capture a database, or any specific roles. We capture what we can see from the system tables. So, if you have access to object (like executing a sp) but dont have privs to see the source, then we cant capture it. Like wise with all other objects too.
So, connect to your database, capture it and convert it, but always be aware of the role you are doing it as. You will only get what that user can see.

  • Performance for table BKFP

    Hi,
I would like to enquire is there anyway that i can improve the performance for table BKPF from the ABAP code point of view.
Because we have customise one program to generate report for the asset master listing.
one of the select statement are show as below:
SELECT SINGLE * FROM BKPF WHERE BUKRS = ANEP-BUKRS
                                      AND GJAHR = ANEP-GJAHR
                                      AND AWKEY = AWKEYUS.
I would like to know how it different from the select statemene below:
SELECT SINGLE * FROM BKPF INTO CORRESPONDING FIELDS OF T_BKPF
          WHERE
          BUKRS = ANEP-BUKRS
      AND GJAHR = ANEP-GJAHR
      AND AWKEY = AWKEY.
Which of the select statements above can enhance report, because currently we have face quite bad issue on this report.
Can i post the ABAP code on this forum.
Hope someone can help me on this. thank you.

    Hi,
As much as possible use the primary keys of BKPF which is BUKRS, BELNR and GJAHR. Also, select only the records which are needed so to increase performance. Please look at the code below:

      LOOP AT it_final ASSIGNING <fs_final>.

        IF <fs_final>-shkzg = 'H'.
          <fs_final>-dmbtr = <fs_final>-dmbtr * -1.

combine company code(bukrs), accounting document number(belnr),

  • Exporting and Importing Statistics for Schema objects.

    Hello All,
I am trying to gather stats for optimization using, gather_schema_stats for all objects under schema. The manual what i am reading says it covers both Tables and Indexes and we can also include the all partions too. For the safety reasons i was informed by a friend that we should take a back up of old stats into a table (user defined), so as in case of messing up with new stats for performance issue we can use it as an backup copy. So, i have created a user table and exported the stats from existing schema. My Question is, do i have to create one for the indexes too. Or its all in one table. I hope my question is clear.
Generally manuals don't teach all this kind of stuff until unless we learn it by ourselves by trial and error Or getting solutions from great resolvers like you people.
    Hope to hear soon.
    Thanks in Advance.

  • Text ID for text object BUT000 does not exist

    Hi Experts.
I am doing data migration using LSMW with IDoc. I have this error message "Text ID for text object BUT000 does not exist" when processing the IDoc.
Can anyone tell me what is this error about and how could i fix it. A step by step guide would be nice. Really need advice urgently.
    I'll definitely rewards points.
    Regards,
    Julianna

for this u need to maintain the text object and its related text id using the TC: SM31 in rel. view of  ur tcode( like MM01, Va01 etc).
first get the view names(1 for text object and 2 for text id) from fun. people.
then go to sm31 with 1 view, create BUT000 .
then go to sm31 with 2 view, maintain text id for the text object:BUT000.

  • Object in import-file header does not correspond to the migration object

    Hi Forum,
I have loaded Business partner successfully with the file created in Workbench with test data.
Now I want to load the data from Application server. But i am getting the error
"Object in import-file header does not correspond to the migration object".
I have read that the import file should have 3 types of record
    1. Header record corrs to the structure TEMINFO
    2. Actual data records
    3. Final record for individual object.
I am not sure where I am making a mistake
    my files header looks like
    <004F><Space><&INFO><Company><Migration Object><User><Date><Time>
    Please help.
    Thanks in advance

I am assuming you are in transaction EMIGIMP loading a converted migration file for import, correct?
If so, you should be able to read the company, mig. object, user name, etc. in the import file tab overview.  If conversion did not work correctly, this info will not display here.
It is possible you are missing some data in the header, or spacing is not correct.  Are you converting the input file with program REMIG_FILE_TRANSFORM or are you trying to create the migration file yourself?

You need to copy your input and output file stores from the old server to the new server. By default these are located in the <Business Objects install path>\FileStore directory.
Then you need to stop the CMS, Right click the CMS,Click the Configuration tab, and then click Specify.
    Choose Copy, then click OK.
Choose the version information for the source CMS database.
Select the database type for the source CMS database, and then specify
its database information (including host name, user name, and password).
Select the database type for the destination CMS database, and then
specify its database information (including host name, user name, and
    password).
When the CMS database has finished copying, click OK.
Once this process has been completed start the CMS and click on update objects -> located on the top of the CCM.
I'd advise taking full backups beforehand.

  • EWA for Business Objects (XI 3.1) within SAP Solution Manager

    Hello!
We use Business Objects (XI 3.1) and would like to get weekly a EWA report within our SAP Solution Manager.
Our SAP Solution Manger has only ABAP stack and it has the SPS version 25.
We also do not use Wily Introscope/Diagnostics and E2E tools within SAP Solution Manager.
    Question
Is it possible to set up EWA for Business Objects with our requirements (SOLMAN with ABAP stack and without E2E/Diagnostics tools)?

    Hello,
The short answer is no. You can verify this in SAP Note  1507629  - Preparing a BOE system for Service Sessions in Sol. Manager.
    "...1.) Managed System Setup
Perform the Managed System Setup for SAP BusinessObjects Enterprise as
described in the "End-to-End Root Cause Analysis System Landscape Setup
Guide". This guide can be found in the SAP Service Market Place:
    -> http://service.sap.com/diagnostics
-> Navigate to the "Media Library"
-> Open the document "SAP Solution Manager Landscape Setup Guide"
Please ensure that you perform all steps mentioned in the guide which
are relevant for your product and version. Please read also SAP note
1357901, which is also referred to in the above mentioned setup guide."
So this is a requirement. There are also pdf documetns attached to this note  that describe how to setup the EWA in Solution Manager. EGI_SBOP_EWA_part1.pdf and EGI_SBOP_EWA_part2.pdf.
The fact you have no Java stack and have not installed Diagnostics, just means it has not been done. It can be done and then you can do a managed system setup, and the balance of tasks required to prepare the system and Solution manager to generate EWA reports for the BOE system. Its just more work, not a show stopper.
    Regards,
    Paul

  • When we have LSMW for migrating data then why we will go for Session/Call ?

    Hi Guru's,
Could you please tell me ...
When we have LSMW for migrating data , why will go for Sessions/call Transaction for migrating? when we do with LSMW we can complete the object with less time then why we have will do with session/call transaction?
when we have to use LSMW ? and when we have to use SESSION/ CALL TRANSACTION ..
    thanks in advance..
    vardhan

LSMW can't upload large amount of data into the database.
Whereas BDC SESSION CALL /TRANSACTION method can upload large amount of data into the database.
The error capture method is superior in BDC.
BDC programs can be scheduled to run on periodic basis as per the customer requirements.
