Employee information is empty in MSS- Team in NWBC

Dear all Gurus,
Before starting I must say I searched on this topic in SCN & found numerous threads on the same. But all are having different solutions & most of them are in portal & using LPD_CUST. In my case we are in NWBC.
I have already maintained the relationships for employee & manager using pa30 & po13.
Now if an employee create a leave or travel request, it will appear in the managers work item.
But in manager id, if we go to team -> employee information. it is showing no data exists.
We haven't done any customizations or configurations for this.
What I am missing & what I should do to display the reporting employees for the manager.??
We are in NW 7.4.

I doubt it is related to NWBC or you using the PFCG roles. Ask your basis/security admins to run a authorization trace, most likely it is a authorization issue maybe even structural/context one.

  • Runtime error in MSS - Team- General Information- Related links- Employee Dates

    We recently upgrade from 7.01 to 7.31, we also updated the respective XSS components also to compatible levels. All applicatoins are coming up well except the Employee dates and Desciplinary actions based on related links under MSS ->Team->General Information.
    Below is the error -

  • Customization of MSS -- Team -- General Information Page

    Hi Experts,
    I have to customize MSS --> Team --> General Information Page.
    The General Information page contains following iViews:
    1) Employee Search iView
    2) Personal Data iView
    3) General Data iView
    4) Absence Days iView
    Personal Data iView, General Data iView and Absence Days iView are populated based on Employee Search iView.
    For the new requirement, we have to add one new iView say XYZ iView in General Information page. The XYZ iView will be populated based on Employee Search iView.
    There are two approach to do this work:
    a) Make changes in the Web Dynpro code of Employee Search iView - This appoach seems to be difficult. If you have worked on similar requirement, kindly share with me your experience and how you completed the work.
    b) Do some configuration changes - This appoach seems to be easy. If you have worked on similar requirement, kindly share with me your experience and how you completed the work.

  • Employee Information iViews dont display in MSS

    Hi All,
    I installed and configured MSS Business packages. All the MSS is views seems to work fine but for the  <b>Employee Information iViews</b>.
    We have ERP2005, EP7.0 of NW2004s SP9.
    After logging into the Portal as an MSS user I go to Team and when I click either General Information or Compensation Information or Personnel Development under <b>Employee Information</b> I get the pop windiw with all iview but no display.
    However when I click the show in new window option under Show details option on the top right hand corner of the iView page I do get to see the information on the pop window...
    what could be the problem here??

  • Team - Employee Information, Employee Working Times etc.

    Hi Experts,
    On MSS, I am not able to see Employee Information, Working Times, Performance Management, Competency Management, and Personnel Change Request services under main service of Team. It doesn't display any of above services under Team.
    I can only see Team Calendar, Headcount and Recruiting Position which are available right hand side on portal.
    Is their any specific setting required to view the same? Do we need to do any specific settings on portal?

  • MSS - team - General Data, Employee selection add Custom col with KM link

    Hi There,
    I am trying to add a custom column for MSS team selection for general data. Which works alright, now i want to make that column click able (like email) and this should direct me to a dynamic Km link based on employee selected.
    I have added custom column and able to display custom content on the team member selection table. I am able to make it clickable if i select "link" option on column configuration. So that also works.. now i want to pass employee number to my custom webdynpro application. Can you suggest anything here.

    Hi Sudhir,
    If I understand correctly, though oadp config, you have added new column and attached a service key to make it as a clickable one. Once u er clicks on the link, I believe you want to display the KM doc which takes pernr as url parameter or some thing like that.
    If my understanding is correct then, you have to  create a WD Application, which reads the selected pernr( or org or position). You need to add pcui_gp/xssutils as used DC and then add context nodes of FcObjectSelection to read the selected record details as described in the above wiki which I gave i.e. https://wiki.sdn.sap.com/wiki/display/profile/How-toaddacustomWebDynproiViewtotheMSSEmployeeProfile%28ECC+6.0%29
    You have to pass the value returned by the Selected Object to the KM as url parameter.
    Also use this blog to see the frontend context values of WDJ application. It will help you in understanding the various values of the context nodes.

    There is a requirement where in a Manager can grant access of many employees to a manager at one go.

  • Employee search in MSS Team view

    Hi,
    Our requirement is to add a new criteria (employee by cost center) to the search criteria drop down in MSS Team view.
    I have done the following steps in Object and Data provider node in spro-
    u2022     Define rules for object selection
    u2022     Define object selection
    u2022     Define organizational structure views
    u2022     Group organizational structure views
    The new criteria is now visible in the dropdown, but on selecting the dropdown value no fields for input of cost center are displayed. Are there any settings that need to be done to define the input fields? If yes, what are these settings and where do I do them?

    Now I see the problem. And I dont think it is possible.
    I recoment you to look at class CL_HRWPC_SEARCH_VIA_SELID. This class used by MSS for employee search. You can see it in IMG Define object selection. Copy and try modify it or find ther class you can use. I hope will work without any modification in NWDS.
    All I did was definition rules for object selection where I put my FM for object selection. I did not enter any values the searsh was in the FM.

  • Issue in direct reportees for manager in MSS Team

    Hi all,
    I have configured my system according to the document Manager Self-Service (MSS) - MSS team view, managers who do not hold chief position prepared by Mohsin Syed .
    In MSS-> Team -> Employee information I am getting the direct employees even the manager is not chief.
    But my problem is same manager cannot see the direct reportes in other places say :  attendance overview , employee course assignments-> manage participants etc..
    see the screenshots : In the same page, no direct reporting employee for attendance over view , but there is for Team calendar.
    For the same manager, if he try to book for training, there is no direct reportees.
    What I have missed ..please guide me what to do..

    Dear Mohsin,
    In the Table TWPC_DAATAVWGRP,  I have created the new entry 'MSS_LAV_EE1. Assigned to group of Data views in "MSS_LAV_EE_DIR1".
    Then in Object and Data Provider -> Organizational Structure Views -> Group Organizational Structure Views,
    MSS_LAV_EE -> Assign Organizational view , I have added 1 more entry MSS_LAV_EE_DIR1(Direct Reports)
    Then In NWBC I have got a new option Direct Reports and under that I have got 1 person as Absent. but 2 person at work is not showing. Actually there are 3 direct reportees to him.
    this is 1 concern
    Under Working time->Attendance overview->Select Employees, it is like this :
    1 more thing.
    Under  MSS-> Team-> Employee course Assignments-> Manage Participants : For manager who is Chief can see all direct reportees and book training for them.
    For manager who is not chief are not getting the direct reportees so that he cannot book training for them.
    If I can retrieve the direct reportees here, then all issues are solved.
    Kindly help me with what changes I have to make in system.

  • MSS Team Calendar and ESS in MSS

    Hi OADP and MSS experts,
    My client organization is implementing ESS (Basic personal information and leave request services) and MSS (leave approvals and team calendar). Partly the organization has a line manager (A012) relationship who would approve the leave request in MSS (which is fine using SAP standard). Other than line manager relationship, they also have Absence Coordinators who approve the leave request where there are no line manager relationship.
    I would like to get your views on the following-
    1. Is it possible to use standard OM relationship 'S' A/B 290 is administrator of 'O' for Absence Coordinators and configure OADP to get the views in the MSS team calendar.
    2. also the absence coordinators - can they submit leave request (ESS in MSS - related activity for Leave request) on behalf of employees based on the above relationship (A/B 290) .Please note that they will not have chief position assignment
    If this can be achieved by OADP configuration I would appreciate any help with configuration documentation.
    Looking forward to get your opinions and suggestions please.

    this is regarding MSS team calender, an employee with his actual position X , if he acts in a acting position Y and if he logs in MSS then he should be able to see all the subordinates under position Y, but presently he cannot see any team under position Y,

    Now I checked team view in MSS. Manager is able to see all the employees & their leave + travel in separate colours.
    But in attendance overview, nothing is getting display.
    So functionality of  Team Calendar is only to get information to manager who are on leave & who are present in each month.
    Is there any more functionality available in Team Calendar.

  • Diff between ESS Team Calendar and MSS Team Calendar

    Can anyone please let me know is there any difference between ESS team calender that employees see in the Leave tab and the Mss team calender that the managers see for their team.
    In our system, it so happens that a user who is a chief sees the org structure in which he is as an employee only ( not manager) in the ESS team calender. However users who have both the ESS and MSS roles see the org structure which is reporting to them in the ESS and as well as the MSS team Calender.
    i already searched SDn and SAPnotes for this and was unable to find anything useful.
    Can anyone please let me know from where does the team Calendar fetch the details from the back-end both in the case of ESS and MSS.

    ESS Team calendar is meant for the employees to see the other colleagues in their Org unit
    MSS Team calendar is used by the manager to see the
    employees reporting to him directly or indirectly (configuration available)
    All this comes from leave request application, Ie sent leave
    approved status etc, and of course the infotypes 2001
    and 2002.
    Check for team calendar in help.sap.com you ll find very good documentation on this.

  • Custom search criteria in MSS Team Calendar

    My requirement is to add a custom entry (All Salaried/Exempt employees) in the Employee Selection (Display Data For) drop down in MSS Team Calendar.
    I have created a custom org structure view by copying the one for "All Employees" - MSS_LTV_EE_ALL
    Then, I have created a custom entry in V_TWPC_ORGVWGRP to include my new org structure view and I have configured the same in V_PTREQ_TEAM.
    I am able to see the new option in the team calendar - as desired.
    Now, I need to adjust my object selection in V_TWPC_OBJSEL (copied from MSS_LTV_EE_ALL) to search for only Salaried employees (based on Employee Subgroup - PERSK).
    Are there any standard Rules for object selection that I can refer to and possibly tweak as per my needs ?
    (or)
    Do I need to use a custom class for the object search ?
    I am not sure as to how to use the option Parameter Group here.
