We would like to build a system control in HR space that when ever there are INTERNAL Transfer happens , We want HR Admins should not be able to transfer the person with Same Position.
May we request experts to throw some light on our requirement.

How to create two employees with same name as supplier record?

Dear all,
We need to create a supplier record for an employee so that we can issue invoice for pretty cash payment. If there are 2 employees with same name, how can we create supplier records for these 2 employees? The system does not allow duplicate supplier name.

In R12 it is possible to create 2 employee with same name but different employee number.
And also possible to create these 2 employees as suppliers in Payables.

Positions mass move with same position name?

Hi All,
1) Is there any direct way to change Organization of a Position?
We tried performing Mass move between the organizations with the same source and target position names. But we faced the issue - 'The target position already exists outside the target organization' since the same position cannot exist in 2 organizations.
2) We tried a changing the position name to a temporary name and then performed mass move between the orgs from the temporary position to original position. This worked to some extent - The position and the assignments having this position got updated correctly, but the position hierarchy still shows up the Temporary position name.
Is there any solution for our issue 1? or any approach for issue 2?
Application version is 12.1.2.

In Oracle HRMS Positions have very strict criteria.
1. They have to be unique within a BG. Hence you cannot have two positions with same name inside one BG even if they are in different Organizations.
2. You cannot change the job or Organization of a position once created.
and so on..
what you are trying to do here violates the basic definition of position in HRMS. You will not be able to change the organization of a position and treat it as the same old position. This is functionally not correct.
In such cases, the best approach is to have a segment for the position KFF holding the short name for the organization it belongs to. Thus whenever you want to change the organization of the position, what you actually do is create a new position, since one of the segment values changes in the position definition.
Coming to the approaches you have tried:
1. Mass move cannot circumvent the basic tenet of HRMS position to allow you create new position with same name but different organization. Hence this approach will not help at all.
2. I am not sure how this happens. But as discussed above changing organization of a position will definitely cause issues somewhere or the other.

PO Approval to multiple person with same position

I want to send the PO approval to 2 people with same position simultaneously. Is there any workaround available to do the same?

You can, but it requires modification to the workflow.
You'll need to add an item attribute called approvers position. Then create a procedure that gets the position of the submitter's approver's position. Then set the item attribute in the procedure. Then in the workflow file, you'll need to ensure the notification in the process has the performer in the node set to type: item attribute and value: approvers position.

In SPRO > MM > Purchasing > Conditions > Define Price Determination Process > Define Schema Determination > Determine Schema for Stock Transport Orders > Here assign Calculation Schema "RM2000" i.e. Stock Transfer Document to Schema Grp Pur. Org, STO Type (For e.g. UB) and Supplying Plant.
Calculation Schema "RM2000" has condition type P101 which will pick up the MAP of supplying plant automatically during creation of STO in ME21N ("Conditions" Tab).
You can create new freight / delivery cost conditions in M/06 for Margin and assign in pricing procedure "RM2000" in M/08 and also assign the Accrual Key to this and do the Account Determination for this Accrual Key in OBYC
At the time of PGI, following accounting entry will get generated;
Stock A/c - Dr - 110 INR (Receiving Plant)
Stock A/c - Cr - 100 INR (Supplying Plant)
Margin Account - Cr - 10 INR (Supplying Plant)

How to register the same schema with same URL

I'm getting ORA-31085 error when try to register the same schema with same URl.
My requirement is that I should be able to reregister the same schema with the same URL .
I'm using the following function :

BI: Virtual Provider for ECC Report with same selection parameters

Dear all,
I have attached screen shot of ECC report selection screen with contain Material, Plant and Dates. As report is bit complex and I need to use just ITAB (internal table) of it for further use in BEx Query and for Dashboard purposes.
Problem: I need to call this report by creating Virtual Provider in BI so that I get data from ECC at runtime as it is shares report so I can't able to save any data in transparent table as report calculated opening balances at runtime.
It is possible for me by using function module i can get itab by submit return and then create Data Source for it ?
As i make copy of FM ZZRSAX_BIW_GET_SIMPLE i cannot use submit there due to OPEN CURSOR mechanism there.
Kindly anyone suggest how it is possible to call report with same selection parameters for creation of virtual provider.
Please mention if i miss any point in explaining problem.

Queries not working with multiple bind position variables?

still need help here - can anyone provide any direction?
(note: this is a follow-up from prior topic, " How to use JDBC Positional Binding Style & ExecuteWithParams?")
I created two simple view objects off of the same entity
object to perform this test:
#1 - ViewObject with one bind position variable - where clause: where id > ?
#2 - ViewObject with two bind position variables - where clause: where id > ? and id < ?
I created two separate .jspx pages, view1.jspx (one input field) and view2.jspx (two input fields), for each view object by dragging ExecuteWithParams operation onto the JSF page.
The .jspx page with one input field works (returns result sets.) The view2.jspx page with two input fields does not work - the query does not return any result sets (no errors produced, it just does not return any rows) - I've tested my query outside of jdeveloper and it works fine. I also tried switching my inputs to make sure I did not have an illogical query (i.e., id >100 and id< 1).
Is there anything different / extra I need to do to use two bind position variables?
Everything in this simple test was identical except for using 2 input variables versus 1.
Technology stack is: jdeveloper 10.1.3, jsf/ADF BC, mySQL 5.01

Using the where clause: "where id > ? and id < ? for the 2 input variables, I get the same result - no row results returned (though query works outside the browser.)
Interestingly, I modified the where clause to where between ? and ?, and then used values of 1 and 100 to test. Using the BC4J tester, the query gave back a single row with id = 100 (should have brought back 100 rows because there are 100 records with ids 1-100.) So I got it to return something, but not the right results. This makes me believe that a different query is being sent to MySQL other than what I'm expecting from what is shown in the SQL Statement of the View Object..
Is there anyway to view what SQL statement is actually being sent to the database using the BC4J tester? Also, could this be an issue related to the mySQL connector drivers and JDeveloper? Im using mysql-connector-java=3.1.11-bin.jar (10/10/2005)? First though, if I could see what query is actually being sent, this may help me to debug and figure out the problem.

I have a internal table where employee name and employee group are maintained.
Next, i have other tables where employee name is there and his salary. now I want to add all the salaries of the employees with same groups, how can I do this.
for Example, I have employee group as ENG, DOC, NUR Etc. (Also I wanted to use some kind of dynamic conditions as emplyee groups might added latter in custom table.

Real time synchronisation of sap hr employee data with LDAP

Hi friends,
I wanted to synchronize sap hr employee data with ldap. I have written a abap program for the same which is using ldap connector interface for creation/modification/deletion of employees. I am planning to put this as a scheduled job.
But I want to do it in real time i.e. when the employee is getting created/modified/deleted in sap hr, my program should receive all the values and do the changes in ldap at the same time.
What all options do i have to do this?

U can take help of Standard Events in SAP.
Go to Tcode SWELS.Then Activate Event trace.
Go and do creation/modification/deletion for employees and Check which allevents are getting triggered in Tcode SWEL.
This might give U an Initial idea how to go about this.

Updating PK with same value - effect on CASCADE UPDATE

I would like to understand how sql server 2008 deals with cascade updates
For example I have
Parent table: Employee with column Id as varchar(20) primary key
Child table with IdEmployee as varchar(20) foreign key
I set up Cascade Update for those two tables, meaning any change to primary key in Employee table will cause update in child table rows that match affecting Id
Scenario 1:
Update Employee
set Id = 'ABC',
Name = 'something new'
where Id = 'CCC'
Result of child table: all rows with foreign key IdEmployee and value of 'CCC' are updated. Expected behavior.
Scenario 2:
Update Employee
set Id = 'ABC',
Name = 'something new 2'
where Id = 'ABC'
This time, i am doing something different. I am beside update of column Name with new value, also update primary key but
with SAME value
Question is: what is going to happen to child rows? Are they ALL going to UPDATE due to CASCADE UPDATE
So far, what i did in order to find solution is:
1. I put an timestamp column in child table that should update each time row gets updated
2. I put a trigger for update event on child table that will write something to some log table
*After I set up those two I ran example like above just to be sure timestamp gets changed as well trigger is being fired
Results of updating PK with same value:
1. Timestamp didnt change
2. Trigger didnt fire
Is this enough to make conclusion that updating primary key with same value ALONG with updating some other columns won't
affect child tables with UPDATE CASCADE ON
Update:
Database is CI AS collation
If i do following

Conclusion: Case sensitive is important here!

Your posting has a number of conceptual errors.
1. The terms “parent” and “child” are not RDBMS; they are used in network databases. We have “referenced” and “referencing” tables; they can be the same table.
2. A table models a SET of things, so there is no “Employee” table unless you truly have a one-man company. We want a collective or plural name for the SET/table. A better name is “Personnel” for this table.
3. Her is no such thing as a generic “id” in RDBMS; it has to be “<something in particular>_id” to be valid. Identifiers are usually fixed length
4. It is very, very rude not to post DDL on a forum. You also do not know the ISO-11179 Rules for data element names. They do not change names from table to table! Does your name change whenever you use it in a new place?? NO! Same principle with data.
5. The ISO standard uses “<property>_<attribute property>” syntax, no the old PascalCase.
6. Why did you post a useless narrative? How do we compile “I SET up Cascade UPDATE for those two tables,..” to test it??

SQL uses a set-oriented model, so the whole table is updated as a unit of work in theory.

Why? It is not in the SET clause list; it cannot change. As an aside, The T-SQL TIMESTAMP is not the ANSI/ISO TIMESTAMP; it is DATETIME2(n) in T-SQL. The old TIMESTAMP is being deprecated because it stinks both in concept and implementation.

Can I use both newly cloned MBPR retina and old-MBP with same Time Machine

When my new-MBPR retina cloned from the old-MBP back up in Time Machine via migration assistance, will this newly-cloned MBPR continue thereon backing up with the same old-MBP back up in Time Machine? I.e. continuing same timeline?
And what happen to my old-MBP back up, if I continuing to use my old-MBP with the same Time Machine on? Will TM recognised 2 different MBP and thus creating 2 back ups? I seem to have problem to keep 2 MBP running with same TM. Programs not responding even force quitting them!
And what should I do to use both? Appreciate your help. Thank you.

OK, but in general I can use this one device as both file storage and Time Machine.
I thought that (for some reason) once I set up the Time Capsule to act just as Time Machine storage I would be unable to access it as a plain file storage.
I have just tested it now, and it seems it can work as both - file storage and Time Machine. I can see the Time Machine backup file on it and folders where I can dump regular files.
The only thing I would need to occasionally do is delete some old backups to keep Time Machine segment below 1 TB just so I have plenty of space for regular files.
This thing is awesome. :)
