Empty tables with RFC call

Good day,
we have a delphi application using wdtfuncs.ocx to connect to SAP via RFC. Since we updated the GUI from 6.2 to 6.4 we have the strange problem, that in some cases select statements returning 0 hits (they should return at least 1 hit).
After downgrading the wdtfuncs.ocx to version 6.2, everything seems to work fine.
Maybe someone has a good idea?!
Any help appreciated.
regards,
Andreas Hähre

Thank you for trying to help me Kathirvel!
But unfortunately I have not solved my problem.
Let me be sure I did this right: I set OBJECTID=PA and SUBTYPE=0000 ?
Well, I have tried diffrent combinations ...
Are there a connection between subtype and infotype?
(I did try 0006 as well ...)
The problem with wdtfuncs.ocx are also described in this thread:
I tried to swap the files wdtfuncs.ocx and wdtaocx.ocx from version 6.4 til 6.2, but it didn't help.
The same problem as I'm struggeling with appears in this thread:
The SAP Note 310190 I mentioned earlier are from 2002, and have Service Packages for version 4.5B to 4.6C. We are running SAP ERP 2004 PS, I think this is version 5.0. I did belive these Service Package were too old for our system, but am I wrong? Should I try to install them?
Well, this seems to be a hard nut to crack! ...
Kindly regards

  • Problem with RFC-Call within BPM

    Hello Experts,
    I am developing a scenario in which I call an rfc-function-module for saving information from an incoming xml which will be transmitted as Idoc to another SAP System.
    The Idoc transmission is doing properly. But the RFC-Call I try to do always ends with a red flag. Error-Message: message has error status on outbd. side at the Process-Engine.
    Can someone help solving that problem?
    Thanks in advance.
    Regards, Alexander

    Hi Rajhans,
    1) The user mentioned in the RFC communication channel is having the authorization.
    Yes, he have the authorizations.
    2) Go to Communication channel monitoring and check what error you are getting for the communication channel is showing.
    There is an error about the FileSenderChannel. Error: java.lang.NullPointerException.
    3) Check whether the RFC created at abap stack is remote enabled or not.
    The function module is remote enabled.

  • Function group memory with RFC calls

    We have a system where a web front-end interacts with our 4.6C system through RFC calls.
    I am having a number of problems where variables declared in a function group are not being cleared out between separate RFC calls to functions in the same group.
    I would not have expected separate RFC calls from an external system to use the same memory area.
    I have seen this happen at other sites too, but have never found an explanation for it.
    Has anyone else experienced this problem and if so can you give me more information about why it happens?
    Thanks for you help,
    Denis.

    This does make sense as global data within a function group is accessable by all function modules of the group.  Normally, in the ABAP system, you call multiple function modules of the same group, and they all share the data.  If you are calling from outside the system, I would expect a different behavior if you are connecting one by one.  But if you are using a pooled connection, this may be the issue.  Not sure though.  It seems that the session on r/3 has not ended and you are accessing the same when calling the second function module.  Is there any function module of the group that looks like it is a "refresher".  In some groups, there is a function module that will refresh the global data.

  • Problem with RFC call between different clients. Plesae help!

    Hi Experts,
           I have a RFC enabled function module in one SAP instance 'A' where the client is 130. I am trying to call this function module from another SAP systen 'N' where client is 220. RFC destination has been set in 'N' system.
    The RFC functin module pulls data fromm a custom table. For a given input it is puuling data in 'A' system.
    But when I call it from 'N' system with the same input it is not pulling the data.
    I feel the problem is with teh different clients.
    please help me how to resolve this.
    Is there any setting in RFC destination?
    Thanks
    Gopal

    Hi gopalkrishna,
    1. Is there any setting in RFC destination
    Ofcourse there is.
    2. The tcode is sm59.
    3. Where u have maintained in system 'N',
       we have to specify
       a) Server 'A'
    <b>   b) Client Number 130</b>
    4. So while calling from N(220),
       it will connect A(130)
       and fetch data from A(130) only.

  • Import parameter is empty after an RFC call from BW to JCo

    I am calling a Java function (implemented using JCO and deployed on J2EE stack of the Portal box) from within a user-exit in BW (on a separate box) using RFC. The code in BW looks like:
    CALL FUNCTION 'Z_BW_VALIDATE_PROXY' DESTINATION 'ACF2PROXY'
        EXPORTING
            IREQUESTOR = 'AE012345'
            IREQUESTED = '012345'
        IMPORTING
            ERESULT = lv_result
        EXCEPTIONS
            SYSTEM_FAILURE = 1 message lv_rfc_mess
            COMMUNICATION_FAILURE = 2 message lv_rfc_mess.
    The following are working/setup correctly:
    1. RFC destination ACF2PROXY, in BW using transaction SM59;
    2. Java function 'Z_BW_VALIDATE_PROXY' , as the server log on the Portal(J2EE) shows the correct IMPORT and EXPORT parameters after processing a call from BW;
    The data types of the parameters in the function call above matches with those of the formal parameters in Java function where they are defined using JCO data types (export parameter is defined at CHAR 1 at both places).
    The problem is that I am not getting any value back in the IMPORT parameter 'lv_result'. I am expecting either '0' or '1' which is populated correctly in the Java function.
    Any insight is appreciated.

    The following is the code of the method in the class that inherits from JCO.Server. In this method the export parameter ERESULT is set with the value of variable 'result'. I thought it may be helpful to reporduce it here.
    protected void handleRequest(JCO.Function function) throws MMException
              if (function == null) {
                  LOGGER.logInfo("handleRequest - JCO.Function object is null.");
                   return;
              LOGGER.logDebug("handleRequest(" + function.getName() + ")");
              //process this function only, although I don't know what else would fall to this
              //server request method...
              if (function.getName().equalsIgnoreCase(ACF2Listener.ABAP_RFC_PROXY_FUNCTION)) {
                   //get input & output definitions from RFC. These are defined in the repository interface definition
                   JCO.ParameterList input = function.getImportParameterList();
                  JCO.ParameterList output = function.getExportParameterList();
                  LOGGER.logDebug("Received the following from ABAP: " + input.toString());
                  String requestor = input.getString("IREQUESTOR");
                  String requested = input.getString("IREQUESTED");
                  //call DAO to read ACF2 for these values
                  String result = null;
                  try {
                       ACF2DAO acf2 = ACF2DAO.getInstance();
                       if (acf2 != null) {
                            result = acf2.getACF2Delegation(requestor,requested);
                  catch (MMException e) {
                      LOGGER.logError("Exception occured during ACF2 DAO lookup: " + e.getMessage());
                      throw e;
                 output.setValue(result, "ERESULT");
                 LOGGER.logDebug("ACF2 Service Call returning: " + output.toString());
              else {
                   throw new JCO.AbapException("NOT_SUPPORTED","This service is not implemented by the ACF2 Proxy external server.");

  • Empty table with multiples rows and 2 columns for processing data

    Hi,
    I am very new to adobe forms. I have the requirement that the user will enter some data in the table rows and I should process them to update in a z-table as well as use that data for MB1A tcode. I am not sure what to use here. Which is the best. I dont know anything about webdynpro. Can it be done directly in SFP transaction without using web-dynpro?
    Also if I need more rows I should give them the option to add rows. How does the submit button work here when the user enters the data in all the 10 rows.
    I heard about web services and I know a little about it, can it be achieved though that? Please help me. I need to finish 4 forms like this and each form should take me to the next form level.
    Kaps.

    Hello!
    You don´t have to tell me, I am the ABAP developer as well. I know that there is very little like ..."career" value in learning scripting in some obscure languages like Java script or Form Calc for Adobe forms. But trust me, you won´t have to learn much. You will have to learn how to manipulate the presence of form fields (or variable values, but that is the same like setting the presence to hidden, you only pass a constant or any other value).
    In the mentioned guide, in the last chapter you can just copy and next paste the ready to use scripting bacis. I think you should find the add/ remove row scripts there as well.
    The right scenario is not always easy to pick, consider this:
    - how many forms at the same time will the user have to fill? (if one --> offline, if more --> portal/ WD)
    - do you want the user to work with the NW portal? do you have licenses for the new users? (WD)
    - how often will the people fill their forms? how important the processes are? how many values will come from the backend tables (like how many search helps you would use if you can)
    etc. etc.
    Hope that clarifies things a little for you
    regards Otto

  • Editable Table - Submit - RFC Call

    Hi Experts.
    I have a table iView that displays the content provided in a RFC. This table is editable. Once all changes within several rows are done I want to press a submit button to transfer the table content to another RFC.
    How can I tell the submit button (within a form iView) to transfer the whole table content?
    Thanks, Mathias

    Mathias,
    You need to create a toolbar for the table. Right-click the table and click "Create Toolbar". Create a pushbutton eg 'Save" and assign it the system action "Submit Form" and draw a transition line from the table to the rfc (for event submit)

  • RFC call in Servlet problem

    Hello,
    I have servlet in my web application module, and I try to make RFC call, within it. I use com.sap.mw.jco.*.
    I compile it but when run the server respond with
    Application error occurs during processing the request.
      Details:   java.lang.NoClassDefFoundError: com/sap/mw/jco/JCO  The ID of this error is
    Exception id: [000C763FB7EE00390000001F000007E800043A148A45F9B4
    I think that I should packaged the jco lib in my war and make it available to servlet, but how can I do this ?
    Thank for any help.

    Hello,
    Thanks a lot Maksim, Bhavik, you helped me.
    I try to make a reference and now the library ClassNotFound error is gone.
    But now I have a next problem with RFC call, I also wrote it to post (Webdynpro VS. Java Servlet). I have a code in which I make RFC call. When I embed this code into regular Java aplication and run, it will return results as I expect. (of course I must run it with jco lib .jar in classpath). But when I run it on my servlet, I got an exception with message: "'mshost' missing"
    I don't know what this supposed to mean, because I run the mentioned application, also from PC where I have j2ee engine installed and it work.
    If you can please help.
    (and thank for your help again (Maksim, Bhavik))

  • Unknown/Junk Characters in RFC call

    Hey All,
        I am having a strange issue in one of the RFC calls made from a Java System to our SAP system. We were getting random errors with this interface( the interface was working well before for a long time) . When I Captured the values sent during the RFC calls I found a lot of junk characters being sent by the other system. Is this the problem of the sending sytem or something in between?
    Has anyone experienced anything like this before.
    Any inputs on what could be the Issue.
    Thanks

    Ash,
    The Java Application is connected to the SAP System using Java Connector.
    aRs,
    The rfc is basically a wraper of standard Bapi "BAPI_REPMANCONF1_CREATE_MTS" for confirmations which has a IMSEG related structure with a lot of QUAN fields. What do you think is the issue with RFC calls and QUAN fields. Becausing changing all the QUAN's to Chars and converting it back to QUAN in the wrapper will be a decently big change.
    I was kindoff ruling out the unicode issue because this interface was working fine for more the 6 months, and we were unicode long time ago.
    One thing I suspect where the Issue could be is the SDK kit for the Java application. We recently Updated our Kernel Version and I think we should Upgrade the SDK';s too which was not done. What do you think??
    Thanks

  • Large insert op into table with indexes

    Hi,
    Oracle 8.1.7.0. Empty table (after truncate) with two indexes. Need to insert about 40 billions records. What is better way to complete this task:
    1. Drop indexes, insert data then build indexes.
    2. Simply insert data into table.
    Thanks.

    The only way to find out is to test... For example, I did a test on my single-cpu box with Oracle 9i. My test was to load all the rows from DBA_SOURCE (only 650k rows). I found that a single insert statement with bitmap indexes online ran faster than the total elapsed time for taking the indexes offline, inserting, and bringing the indexes back up...
    With 40-billion rows, I presume you're using partitioned tables and enabling parrallel DML. Thus, your test will be much different than mine...
    In past ETL projects I worked on, I found little difference in timing. I decided that I didn't want to drop indexes (it was ver8i) so I loaded the empty tables with indexes (and constraints) enabled...

  • RFC calls with SAP table insert - lock tables

    Hi,
    I have an external server program, which is calling a rfc function many times the same time with different transaction types. There are transaction types, which are downloading information from SAP (only send data back to the caller), and there are transaction types which are uploading data to SAP (inserting/updating data on SAP).
    The function calls are synchronous as the server needs to get feedback directly. The parallel work processes for RFC calls are limited, so a system overload can´t happen.
    The problem now is, if the server is down for while and going to be restarted, it´s opening parallel threads and calls the function in SAP at nearly the same time. That means, it will call the function with upload requests (table must be locked), and download requests the same time.
    In the upload requests, the table has to be locked, that it can´t occur that we get wrong entries...
    I can only enqueue the table with just two fields... I know, that is almost like locking the whole table, but it´s not possible to lock it in a different way.
    I tried to use the enqueue function with the parameter WAIT, but it didn´t help, as there where too many parallel calls and after some seconds, they were ending up with an error (Because the table has been locked by another call).
    It seems that it´s trying to lock the table again for all parallel calls at exactly the same time....
    The calls has to be synchronous, as the server needs to get the feedback directly. Any ideas how top solve this, that it handles all incoming calls parallel and waits for the table is unlocked again?
    Thank you for your help!

    Hi,
    thank you for your answer!
    I have investigated something new yesterday:
    I thought at the beginning, that the problem just occurs, when the system work processes are reached. The system has for example set up 15 dialog processes and the external server is calling the function 20 times in parallel. Then we normally need 5 dialog processes more. The system is taking then all 15 dialog processes and the locks got stucked.
    That means, that I´ll maybe only get 4 or 5 uploads, which have really been updated the tables. All the others couldn´t get the table locked for their process.
    But if I now let the server call the function just about 13 times in parallel, nearly all uploads have been updated the table!
    From my point of view, the lock from SAP gets stucked, when the limit of dialog processes is reached. It´s not working in the right way anymore...
    The same is happening, when you set up in the system, that only 10 work proecesses can be used by RFC. If I have more than 10, it´s going to be critical with the locks....
    WEIRD!
    Can anybody help me out of trouble?
    Thank you!

  • Call Function with RFC  dynamic table

    Hi all
    I create a function compare TABLE_ENTRIES_GET_VIA_RFC and CTVB_COMPARE_TABLES, everything is.dynamic
    it works well but, how could i create a dynamic output parameter for table.
    the system show me that RFC and dynamic table don't work.
    i don't want line by line i would like to have the real structure inside of the Function i have everything but i can't move the data to the output parameter table .
    could somebody help ?

    Thx RE (and Mani) for the feedback.
    I think that this URL is sufficient to understand how to pass dynamic internal table via RFC function module, whatever it is input or output. This URL says to use a STRING to store the table content in XML format, via CALL TRANSFORMATION ID, and pass this string as parameter. In the calling program, we have to "decode" the XML back into abap data, Just notice that we don't need to create an XSLT, ID is sufficient.
