Enable real-time indexing

Hello,
I have just created a new index (template and connector) for some of my custom tables.
Additionally I have implemented
     IF_BADI_ESH_IF_OBJECT_DATA~GET_DATA
     IF_BADI_ESH_IF_OBJECT_DATA~NEXT
for the index in my own class.
The index is build up fine when starting the indexing process manually.
I have flagged the template for real-time indexing and I have also made sure that real-time indexing is setup (ESH real-time indexing deamon is running). I checked that at least everything is working for the standard MATERIAL connector.
My question is: How can I enable real-time indexing for my new connector?
Regards,
Alexander

Hello Harit,
thanks for your reply. Actually I already did the steps you described but that didn't work as expected.
Solution to our issue was to update our systems to a newer patch level.

Alexander

  • Unable to create an universe on a query based on a real time cube

    Hello,
I'm trying to create a universe on a BEx query. This query is based on a multiprovider which consists of one standard cube and one real time cube. I'm unable to see this query in the designer. I do see an empty folder with the name of the multi provider.
I can create an universe directly on this multiprovider.
Are there any specific setting for real time cube or is it a compatibility issue? Can an universe be created on a real time cube?

  • How Real Time Apply works while physical standby is open in Read Only mode

    Hi,
With Active data guard option, we can open physical standby DB in read only mode, while redo log are being applied. (Real Time Query)
Standby Redo log (SRL) enables Real Time Apply (with "USING CURRENT LOGFILE" clause in recover database command on standby DB)
I am interested to know, how Real Time Query works ?
What is the mechanism with allows us to open physical standby DB in read only mode while redo logs are being applied continuously ?
    Regards,
    Sujit

    Dear user7419391,
That is a new feature in Oracle Database 11g. MRP can use the real time apply in 10g but the concept here is different.
    Taken from the following document;

*Unique Advantages of Oracle Active Data Guard*
+Active Data Guard is an evolution of Data Guard technology, providing unique+
+performance advantages while leveraging all other enhancements included in Oracle+

+be easily converted to a Snapshot Standby. A Snapshot Standby is open read-write+

Working Collaboratively Across Teams – Scenario Installation Guide
    1     Purpose
The purpose of this scenario is to provide an example of how SAP Enterprise Portal can enable your teams to work collaboratively – within the same functional team, or across functional teams with the use of the Collaboration Launch Pad (CLP).
Following you will find the information on how you can install this scenario. The Scenario Installation Guide provides you with the information you need to set up your business scenario configuration.
Note that the installation documentation for SAP Best Practices business scenarios is structured on two levels:
    •     Scenario Installation Guide: one document for a business scenario
    •     Building Block Configuration Guide: one document for a building block, but several documents for a scenario installation
The Scenario Installation Guide is the backbone of the installation documentation and describes which building blocks you need to install for this scenario and prescribes the order you have to follow when you install them.
For the installation of each building block, you have to refer to the corresponding Building Block Configuration Guide where you can find detailed configuration procedures of this building block.
Always use the Scenario Installation Guide (this document) as the starting point for all your installation activities.
For a successful installation of the entire scenario, it is important:
    •     that you follow the structure in the Scenario Installation Guide from the first to the last installation activity
    •     that you carry out all installation activities of a building block before you start with the next building block.
    2     Prerequisites
    •     You have a live SAP R/3 backend system.
    •     SAP GUI installed on your machine to use Win GUI iView.
    •     You have read the essential document, Building Block N00: Essential Information.
    •     You have the End User role (eu_role) assigned to your user.
    Collaboration Launch Pad: Activate Link:
The Collaboration Launch Pad (CLP) allows portal users to manage their contacts and launch services for collaboration. Users click a link in the tool area of the portal header to launch the CLP.
If you want to display the link to launch the CLP in the portal header after installing the Collaboration component, you must activate it manually in the attributes for the tool area of the default framework page.

  • Datasource:Real time enabled

    Hello everybody,
Hope to have your valuable suggestions on this
1:Is it possible for me to copy a standard FI datasource .I need to have 0FI_AR_4 ,which is currently active and in use ,datasource real time enabled
2:I do not want to go to roosource table and modify the table to make this real time enabled. Is it possible for me to create a new datasource(not generic since i would have to create view/query etc) copying this 0fi_ar_4 and have it real time enabled
3:I tried RSDS transaction.however its not helping me to copy or create
    regards
    savi

    Andreas/Michael,
I would like to add a different dimension to this topic mentioned by you.
    Please do correct if wrong.
    <b>Problem -</b>
The FI line item delta DataSources can identify new and changed data only to the day because the source tables only contain the CPU date and not the time as time characteristic for the change.
This results in a safety interval of at least one day.
and thats why we cannot enable this datasource as Real Time;however please refer this note below and help me understand how would this fit the aforementioned bill.
Note 485958 - BCT-FI: Extracting FI line items up to the current date
    <b>Solution</b>
Due to a customized setting, it is now possible for the FI line item extractors to read the data up to the current date during the delta runs.
During the next delta run, the data is then read again from the day when the previous extraction was called, up to the current day of the call for the new extraction. This means that the delta extraction of the data always occurs with time intervals overlapping by one day.
<u>The delta calculation by the ODS objects ensures that the repeatedly extracted data does not cause duplicate values in the InfoCube.</u>
    Hope it Helps

  • Enabling the Active Dataguard and Real Time Apply

    11.2.0.2 on AIX
I gather that , to enable Active Dataguard, you need to execute

ALTER DATABASE RECOVER MANAGED STANDBY DATABASE USING CURRENT LOGFILE DISCONNECT;The above commands will enable both Active Dataguard (Real Time QUERY) and Real Time Apply. Right?
To enable just 'Real Time Apply' , I need to

  • Liquid Analytics enables the sales force in real-time

    Problem
The success of wholesale and manufacturing distribution operations largely hinges on the efficacy of sales teams that must deal with a host of pricing and product challenges. For the sales group, the biggest game changer is their ability to access and leverage insight into the customer’s behavior and historical buying patterns.
Due to the technological limitations of the past, the sales team was unable to access information about customers’ buying patterns, leverage new products, establish dynamic pricing, and set realistic goals and as a result would miss opportunities with customers or lose their faith altogether.
Even with these pressing needs noted and observed, not just any technology can be introduced to a sales team and expect to be adopted. This is because the unique characteristics of the sales force must be carefully considered in order to seamlessly integrate new technologies aimed at sales enablement.
Liquid analytics understands the field and the interplay between marketers, sales teams, and customers and uses this knowledge to inform its technology. The firm understands that the sales force operates primarily in the field and therefore does not have the capability to manually input data into sales tracking forms, or that sales teams with different products visit the same customers but do not necessarily work in tandem to leverage each other’s footprints. Without a foolproof means of measurement and assessment in the field, the disconnect between the sales and marketing teams is often heightened making set goals unrealistic for sale representatives.
    Solution
Liquid analytics uses its understanding of the sales archetype and big data and predictive analytics to bring viability to its target industries when it counts most. The proprietary technology takes predictive algorithms and mobile tracking, visualizing the various components in a comprehensive, easy-to-use dashboard. For mobile sales representatives, valuable information can be easily searched on an account, and sales activity is easily logged to demonstrate ROI.
For wine and liquor sales representatives, the solution has been proven to do a number of things:
The technology uses algorithms based on history of sales which are able to forecast what will be needed and allows the sales team to make fact- based orders, save time on each customer account by avoiding duplication, and increase customer loyalty. In addition, access to inventory in real time allows the sales rep to deliver in a timely manner and avoid missed shipments by 95 percent.
The Liquid analytics dashboard allows representatives selling liquor, wine or beer to view one universal dashboard to note what sales tasks have yet to be done or have been completed and develop a workflow that collectively benefits all representatives on the account.
The leaderboard creates a gamification experience for the sales team meant to increase sales by incentivizing through potential conversion rates and goal reward system.
On an individual basis, representatives are able to log their hours and use the record to negotiate better terms. Logged hours also provide context as to whether a representative is spending too much time while profitability remains low, leading to new sales strategies.
The feedback loop between the marketing and sales team is closed as the solution generates real-time notifications about where media is used by sales team as well as categorizes product attributes that can be used for better product placement and targeted campaigns.

  • Real time flag enable

    Hi Experts,
I want to load data from 2LIS_11_VAKON with real time functionality. I made the real time flag enable in data source in r/3 side but while creating the info package in bi the real time flag is not showing. Could s'one please help me if i'm missing any steps.
    Brisk reply can be appreciated.
    Regards,
    Amar

    Hi Ram,
I think that you are loading data from generic data source if it is the case you can flag the "Real time " option while creating the generic data source> Generic delta>Realtime. Then you can replicate this DS into BI then create info pcakage for this DS and select the option "Real time" flag.
Hope this helps and solve your problem.
    Thanks & Regards,
    Amarnath

  • Real-Time Enabled field and Generic extarctor

    Hey,
We are using PI 2004_1_470 on our R/3 system, and I just noticed that there is a field called Real-Time Enabled on the generic delta screen.  This maps to ROOSOURCE-REALTIME.
What is the field being used is? Is this some early release of the near real time function that will be part of BW 7.0, or can I use this with BW 3.5?
    Thanks Bill!

    Hi Mickey,
    in general:
    1.) you need a 7.0 DataSource (3.X DataSources cannot deliver Real-Time information)
2.) you can only run a DataSource in one mode, either "Real-Time Data Acquistion" or "Standard", i.e. the same DataSource cannot be incorporated in the data flow in different modes.
3.) Business Content DataSources are not delivered with the option "Real-Time Data Acquistion" at the current point in time. We are currently discussing which DataSources should be made available to start off with.

  • Any suggestions for free real time anti virus or malware security sw?

I have been using Onyx and that seems to work fine, I wonder how you can tell without anything else to compare it to anyway.
But lately I've been reading a lot about virusses (virae?) attacking Mac computers and I'm wondering if there is any free real time security software that is really working.
If anyone has any recommendations I'd really appreciate it.
    Thank you in advance.
    Regards,
    Milli.

No viruses that can attack OS X have so far been detected 'in the wild', i.e. in anything other than laboratory conditions.
It is possible, however, to pass on a Windows virus to another Windows user, for example through an email attachment. To prevent this all you need is the free anti-virus utility ClamXav, which you can download from:
    http://www.clamxav.com/
However, the appearance of Trojans and other malware that can possibly infect a Mac seems to be growing, but is a completely different issue to viruses.
If you allow a Trojan to be installed, the user's DNS records can be modified, redirecting incoming internet traffic through the attacker's servers, where it can be hijacked and injected with malicious websites and pornographic advertisements. The trojan also installs a watchdog process that ensures the victim's (that's you!) DNS records stay modified on a minute-by-minute basis.
You can read more about how, for example, the OSX/DNSChanger Trojan works here:
    http://www.f-secure.com/v-descs/trojanosxdnschanger.shtml
SecureMac has introduced a free Trojan Detection Tool for Mac OS X. It's available here:
    http://macscan.securemac.com/
The DNSChanger Removal Tool detects and removes spyware targeting Mac OS X and allows users to check to see if the trojan has been installed on their computer; if it has, the software helps to identify and remove the offending file. After a system reboot, the users' DNS records will be repaired.
(Note that a 30 day trial version of MacScan can be downloaded free of charge from:
    http://macscan.securemac.com/buy/
and this can perform a complete scan of your entire hard disk. After 30 days the cost is $29.99. The full version permits you to scan selected files and folders only, as well as the entire hard disk. It will detect (and delete if you ask it to) all 'tracker cookies' that switch you to web sites you did not want to go to.)
A white paper has recently been published on the subject of Trojans by SubRosaSoft, available here:
    http://www.macforensicslab.com/ProductsAndServices/index.php?mainpage=document_general_info&cPath=11&productsid=174
    Also, beware of MacSweeper:
MacSweeper is malware that misleads users by exaggerating reports about spyware, adware or viruses on their computer. It is the first known "rogue" application for the Mac OS X operating system. The software was discovered by F-Secure, a Finland based computer security software company on January 17, 2008
    http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/MacSweeper
On June 23, 2008 this news reached Mac users:
    http://www.theregister.co.uk/2008/06/23/mac_trojan/
More information on Mac security can be found here:
    http://macscan.securemac.com/
The MacScan application can be downloaded from here:
    http://macscan.securemac.com/buy/
You can download a 30 day trail copy which enables you to do a full scan of your hard disk. After that it costs $29.95.
More on Trojans on the Mac here:
    http://www.technewsworld.com/story/63574.html?welcome=1214487119
This was published on July 25, 2008:
Attack code that exploits flaws in the net's addressing system are starting to circulate online, say security experts.
The code could be a boon to phishing gangs who redirect web users to fake bank sites and steal login details.
In light of the news net firms are being urged to apply a fix for the loop-hole before attacks by hi-tech criminals become widespread.
Net security groups say there is anecdotal evidence that small scale attacks are already happening.
    Further details here: http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/technology/7525206.stm
A further development was the Koobface malware that can be picked up from Facebook (already a notorious site for malware, like many other 'social networking' sites), as reported here on December 9, 2008:
    http://news.bbc.co.uk/newsbeat/hi/technology/newsid_7773000/7773340.stm
You can keep up to date, particularly about malware present in some downloadable pirated software, at the Securemac site:
    http://www.securemac.com/
There may be other ways of guarding against Trojans, viruses and general malware affecting the Mac, and alternatives will probably appear in the future. In the meantime the advice is: be careful where you go on the web and what you download!
As to the current 'Conficker furore' affecting Intel-powered computers, MacWorld recently had this to say:
    http://www.macworld.co.uk/news/index.cfm?email&NewsID=25613
Although any content that you download has the possibility of containing malicious software, practising a bit of care will generally keep you free from the consequences of anything like the DNSChanger trojan.
    1. Avoid going to suspect and untrusted Web sites, especially *********** sites.
    2. Check out what you are downloading. Mac OS X asks you for you administrator password to install applications for a reason! Only download media and applications from well-known and trusted Web sites. If you think you may have downloaded suspicious files, read the installer packages and make sure they are legit. If you cannot determine if the program you downloaded is infected, do a quick Internet search and see if any other users reported issues after installing a particular program.
    3. Use an antivirus program like ClamXav. If you are in the habit of downloading a lot of media and other files, it may be well worth your while to run those files through an AV application.
    4. Use Mac OS X's built-in Firewalls and other security features.
    5. Stop using LimeWire. LimeWire (and other peer-to-peer sharing applications) are hotbeds of potential software issues waiting to happen to your Mac. Everything from changing permissions to downloading trojans and other malicious software can be acquired from using these applications.
    6. Resist the temptation to download pirated software. After the release of iWork '09 earlier this year, a Trojan was discovered circulating in pirated copies of Apple's productivity suite of applications (as well as pirated copies of Adobe's Photoshop CS4). Security professionals now believe that the botnet (from iServices) has become active. Although the potential damage range is projected to be minimal, an estimated 20,000 copies of the Trojan have been downloaded. SecureMac offer a simple and free tool for the removal of the iBotNet Trojan available here:

  • Process Chain for Real Time Demon

Please help I am stuck I followed the step by sdn but this is missing in step. how to create now process chain.
    I created the below
DSO CONNECTED TO dATASOURCE via Trans,
    Real Time IP
    Real Time DTP
assigned to Datasource and assigned the DS, IP, DTP to Deamon in RSRDA. NOW I started also manually via start all IP. but How to set the process chains now.
PLEASE HELP ME STEP BY STEP TO PROCESS CHAIN SINCE i am new to this daemon in process chains
    Thanks

    Hi
    refer to this
    CREATION OF PROCESS CHAINS
Process chains are used to automated the loading process.
Will be used in all applications as you cannot schedule hundreds of infopackages manually and daily.
    Metachain
    Steps for Metachain :
    1. Start ( In this variant set ur schedule times for this metachain )
2.Local Process Chain 1 ( Say its a master data process chain - Get into the start variant of this chain ( Sub chain - like any other chain ) and check the second radio button " Start using metachain or API " )
3.Local Process Chain 2 ( Say its a transaction data process chain do the same as in step 2 )
Steps for Process Chains in BI 7.0 for a Cube.
    1. Start
    2. Execute Infopackage
    3. Delete Indexes for Cube
    4.Execute DTP
    5. Create Indexes for Cube
    For DSO
    1. Start
    2. Execute Infopackage
    3. Execute DTP
    5. Activate DSO
    For an IO
    1. Start
    2.Execute infopackage
    3.Execute DTP
    4.Attribute Change Run
Data to Cube thru a DSO
    1. Start
    2. Execute Infopackage ( loads till psa )
3.Execute DTP ( to load DSO frm PSA )
    4.Activate DSO
    5.Further Processing
    6.Delete Indexes for Cube
7.Execute DTP ( to load Cube frm DSO )
    8.Create Indexes for Cube
    3.X
Master loading ( Attr, Text, Hierarchies )
    Steps :
    1.Start
    2. Execute Infopackage ( say if you are loading 2 IO's just have them all parallel )
3.You might want to load in seq - Attributes - Texts - Hierarchies
    4.And ( Connecting all Infopackages )
    5.Attribute Change Run ( add all relevant IO's ).
    Start
    Infopackge1A(Attr)|Infopackge2A(Attr)
    Infopackge1B(Txts)|Infopackge2B(Txts)
    /_____________________|
    Infopackge1C(Txts)______|
    \_____________________|
    \___________________|
    __\___________________|
    ___\__________________|
    ______ And Processer_ ( Connect Infopackge1C & Infopackge2B )
    __________|__________
Attribute Change Run ( Add Infobject 1 & Infoobject 2 to this variant )
    1. Start
    2. Delete Indexes for Cube
    3. Execute Infopackage
    4.Create Indexes for Cube
    For DSO
    1. Start
    2. Execute Infopackage
    3. Activate DSO
    For an IO
    1.Start
    2.Execute infopackage
    3.Attribute Change Run
Data to Cube thru a DSO
    1. Start
    2. Execute Infopackage
    3.Activate DSO
    5.Further Processing
    6.Delete Indexes for Cube
    7.Execute Infopackage
    8.Create Indexes for Cube

  • How can I generate a real-time highchart from my database data?

I have looked several links; however, I couldn't find a working demo showing how to implement a highchart using data from a database.
Objective: I want to generate a real time highchart line graph getting data from my database. What I want is very similar to the
HighChart Demo which provides a real-time highchart with randomly generated values. It is also similar by X-axis and Y-axis, for I want my x-axis to be "Time" (I have a DateTime column in my database) and y-axis to be an integer (I have
a variable for that as well in my database).
Please I need help in sending the model data to my razor view.
Note that I am already using SignalR to display a realtime table. I also want to know if it can be used to automatically update the highchart as well.
Below is the code snippet of my script in the view. I have used the code provided in
HighChart Demo link for generating the highchart. Please tell me where should I apply the changes on my code.

    Hi Sihem,
Thank you for contacting National Instruments.  Using the LabVIEW Real-Time module, you can do development without actually having a target.  While viewing the project explorer window, you can do the following steps:
    Right click on the project
Select New >> Targets and Devices
Select the "New Target or Device" radio button
Select the target you would like to develop on.Information about the LabVIEW Real-Time Module can be found here.
