Enable Sign features - Adobe reader

Hi All,
I have an form developed using LiveCycle designer, I am applying reader extension using Adobe Acrobat XI pro.
Steps: File > Save As other.. > Reader Extended PDF > Enable More tools
Now, I am opening the same PDF in Adobe Reader, Sign features are grayed out/Disabled.
Could anyone please help me enable the Sign features.

George, I did not include any signature field in the form.
I created an ID using Acrobat and now I am trying to apply the same to the interactive document. unfortunately, the sign options are disabled both in reader and acrobat.

Hi, Harvey.
I'm sorry for the issues you're having.
So it sounds like you're trying to sign into Adobe Reader X's right-side Tools Pane with your Adobe ID ([email protected]), yet you're seeing an error message. Is that the issue? What does the error message say? Can you try signing out from Reader, closing Reader, and then re-opening Reader and signing back in? Does the error mesage still appear?
Also, what Reader version and operating system (Mac, Win) are you using?

Hi,
2 things:
1. Assuming your script is original - it is not asking for a TXT file till it is found in expected location. You can choose between 2 solutions:
to remove FindChangeList.txt from FindChangeSupport folder ==> script will ask for another file
to override this file by your query ==> script will not ask but execute your query
2. You can see greyed TXT files in Script Panel since this panel shows executable files (script's formats)

I can sign into Adobe but my password is rejected when trying to sign into Adobe reader for updates.

Adobe Reader won't ask you to sign in for updates. Most likely, this is just the normal adminstrator password prompt you get when installing or updating software, and you use your computer's own password.

How Can I Sign The Adobe Reader X User Agreement?

When I try to print documents, the reader 10 user agreement comes on, with the accept below the taskbar. It does not respond when the cursor is over it.

I opened up the EULA in the C drive, put it on low pixellation via properties and signed it then. Thank you for your prompt attention to my difficulty. Take care. -Steve

Are you doing this in the web browser? If so, have you ever launched Adobe Reader as a standalone application? If so, then you should have had the opportunity to accept the EULA.

Enable Tools in Adobe Reader

What is the difference between:
A. Enable for commenting and analysis in Adobe Reader (or Enable typewriter tool in Reader), and
B. Extend features in Adobe Reader
Enabling the commenting tool also enables the typewriter tool, but not vice vera. All annotations can be saved.
If the typewriter tools is enabled, it seems that the document (including forms) can save the annotations made.
What does the "Extend features to Adobe Reader" include that the commenting and typewriter tools does not? Digital signature?

P.S. I know how to enable and use these tools, I just need a reason why I would want to use one over another.

Reader is not only the name of the product but describe its operation. A file viewer or reader can not modify the file it is viewing, no notes no saving of form field data.
Enabling comments, typewriter tool, and other annotations allows a use with Reader to add any of the annotation objects.
To save a form with filled in form fields, involves additional form rights being granted to a user with Reader to save the form and entered data.

How to enable Extended Features in Reader 10

I have pdf forms that were created in Acrobat 8 Pro. Users could change the fields on the forms and save them. Our Enterprise has since "upgraded" to Reader 10. Users can longer make changes in the fields of the forms created in v.8 Pro. I have read the solution in this forum to this issue, which is:
"To Reader-enable a document in Acrobat 10, select: File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF > Enable Additional Features.
Do this as the final step when preparing the document to be sent out."
However, I do not have File > Save As > Reader Extended PDF. Under the File > Save As menu, I only have PDF or Text, not Reader Extended. So how can I fix these pdf's so users can edit the fields and save them? We have hundreds of these documents we need to edit then save. Many thanks.

If your menu only says "PDF" and "Text" you're in Adobe Reader, not Acrobat.

Using iText to generate a digital signature that can be signed in Adobe Reader

I am able to create a digital signature in a pdf using iText. Adobe Reader does not allow that digital signature to be signed. Everything I have been reading suggests that I need to enabe Reader Usage Rights, but that requires using Adobe Pro. I was hoping that I would only need Adobe Reader inorder to digitally sign the pdf, is that possible?

You will not be able to accomplish this because Acrobat 7 does not provide the functionality to allow users with Reader to be able to sign the documents.

Where is "Done Signing" in Adobe Reader 10.1.9?

I am using Adobe Reader 10.1.9, and I cannot see a "Done Signing" button as the directions say?

Are either of you actually done signing? I believe it won't show until you are.
Also, this only applies for Pre Adobe Reader XI versions.

Adding attachments to Reader enabled forms in Adobe reader

I am creating a form for a user where they need to add an attachment to the form from Adobe Reader.
They also need to save the form locally, as this is a low volume usage, approx. 100 uses in total the rights are being enabled in Acrobat Professional 8.0
Functionality all works fine until the form is reader enabled and the script no longer functions.
the script being used is as follows

I have seen some comments indicating the file system cannot be accessed when rights have been applied, does anyone know if this is the case? or if there is a way to make this work.

The euro sign in adobe reader is not correc t

I have a
a)PC with Windows XP Pro SP3 and Adobe Reader 9.1.2 netherlands
b)PC with Windows XP Home SP3 and Adobe Reader 9.1.2 netherlands
When I open a PDF file on computer b) the euro sign € shows correct
but
When I open the same PDF file on computer a) the euro sign € shows not correct
Do somebody has an explanation for this??

How to enable commenting for Adobe Reader users--missing menu option?

According to the help file, I can enable commenting in Acrobat Pro X so that Adobe Reader users can use annotation and commenting tools. The help file says:

I have uninstalled and reinstalled Acrobat Pro X. I have installed Acrobat Pro X on a machine that has never had Acrobat Pro installed on it. Each time I see only the shortened version of menu options.
So, why do I only see File, Edit, View, Window and Help? Where are the other menu items, such as Comments, Forms, Tools, etc? Is there something I need to do to enable them?

I have adobe reader and can't sign a document digitally. Can someone please assist me with this?

What happens when you try to sign a document? Do you receive an error? What version of Reader are you using, and what operating system are you on? Does the problem occur with a particular PDF, or any PDF that you try to sign?
