Encore authored DVD displaying wrong audio track language info

Authored a number of DVDs using Encore CS6. Some play fine and some show incorrect audio track language info when played back on a DVD player even though they are programmed correctly and the same as the ones playing correctly. Has anyone else encountered this? If so, what was the fix?

Hi,
Can you please add some detail to "incorrect audio track language info when played back on a DVD player even though they are programmed correctly" - what exactly is the error you get - do you get any audio playback?
And how are the discs "programmed" - do you have multiple audio tracks, for example English and Spanish?
Please let us know the normal workflow you use to create a DVD. Does it use Dynamic Link from Premiere to Encore, do you encode assets first, how do you make DVDs? Video and audio source formats?
Screen grabs can be very helpful to show settings used at various stages.
Thank you

  • How to burn a DVD with two audio track?

There is a projet with the original video and a second audio track with music. I want to burn a DVD with both audio tracks. When playing the DVD you should be able to select audio track 1 (the original sound) or audio track 2 (the music). With Adobe Encore DVD it was easy to configure the two audio tracks and burn the DVD. It is posible to do the same from Adobe Premier Elements 11?
    Thanks,
    Jordi

    Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, PrE does not allow for supplemental Audio Tracks, when authoring.
I use Adobe Encore for this, but it is only available bundled with Premiere Pro. I do not know if some other, third party, full-featured authoring apps., like Sony's DVD Architect can do that, but I would suspect that they can. The specifications for DVD Architect should have that information, and as it's quite common in full-featured authoring apps., I anticipate that it has that capability.
If you do go with that program, our MOD, Steve Grisetti, has written a very good book on DVD Architect, and it's available at Muvipix.com.

  • Audio tracks - languages available

    Ladies and Gentlemen:
I suggest that Apple shows which audio tracks (languages) are available for a movie in Apple TV - like in iTunes.
When I buy a movie i would like to know if an OV version is available.
It would also be nice if the movies always have the OV Language Track available.
    Thank you very much.
    Kind regards

  • Help with DVD Studio Pro Audio Track/Commentary Track

    Hi Everyone -
I am authoring my first DVD for a film.  I believe I have everything under control - menus, chapter selections, bonus features - except for the director's commentary.
I have created 2 main menus - one with a button to turn commentary on, another menu with a button to turn commentary off.
    They work fine.
But when I simulate the DVD, select commentary ON, play movie (commentary track plays) ... Then click the MENU button, it returns to the main menu with the button to turn commentary ON, but the commentary audio track (audio track 2) is still activated at this point.
Is it possible to tell it to return to audio track 1 if the menu button is pressed, or tell it to go to "main menu 2" if the menu button is pressed?
I hope my question is clear.
    Thank you.

Each track and story has its own end jump and its own Remote Control selection. If I understand your problem correctly, changing the Remote Control>Menu (in the Inspector window) from Same as Disk to the appropriate Menu should fix the problem.
If not, a more complete explanation would help.

  • Gnome-music and Rhythmbox display wrong audio tags

    Hi,
I've seen that both these two audio players (and maybe others, I don't know) show wrong audio tags. The "album year" tag is set correctly for all my .m4a songs (it can be seen from nautilus or from any tagging software) but Rhythmbox and Gnome-music always show the wrong year, without any apparent reason.
Did anyone encounter the same problem? How to fix?
    Thanks in advance

Yeah I found that I had inconsistencies with Rhythmbox and tags as well. This is how I fixed my problems.
    1) Install Easytag.
    2) Open Rhythmbox, right click on the song (or select all the tracks and then right click) and hit properties.
    3) Change the incorrect tag to what it should be.
    4) Open Easytag, locate the tarcks that you just edited in Rhythmbox. You should find that they are highlighted in bold. Select the tracks and then click the "Save changes to selected files" button in the Easytag toolbar. If you've selected multiple tracks then you'll need to tick the box saying you want to apply the action to all files.
The tags should be consistent across all your music programs now. Hope this helps!

  • Debugging a non-playing encore authored dvd

So I just got into using Encore the other day and am very pleased with the flexibility of it.
But my first dvd that I have tried to create with it, I have ran into a slight issue. On all my dvd playback software, it plays fine save for an entry clip (on disc insert, it should go to a 20 second clip I created and at the end, move to the main menu). They all seem to go straight to the menu on me. But otherwise, all the included clips play fine.
But when I try to play it back in this Panasonic dvd recorder I have here (mind you, it supports a wide variety of disc formats: dvd-ram, dvd-r, dvd+r, dvd+rw, dvd-rw) and it keeps telling me it's an unsupported disc. I authored the dvd to an iso in encore then used infrarecorder to burn that iso to a dvd-r.
The structure of the dvd as best as I can display here is as follows:
Disc insert > 20 second clip transcoded by encore to m2v/ac3 > main menu.
From the main menu there are a large selection of clips to play back as well as a link to a second menu with more linked clips. Each one of these clips are on individual timelines and are all m2v/mp2 that are transcoded by tmpgenc plus.
I'm kinda stuck here trying to figure out exactly what the culprit is and what's keeping it from playing. Any help is GREATLY appreciated.

    Some notes and saved conversations...
    To
Burn Error Proof DVDs (Well, close to error proof!)
Use the SLOWEST possible burn option your burner will allow in Encore, since it is much better to take a bit more time burning the disc than it is to burn "fast" and have a disc that won't play
Set the VIDEO portion of the transcoding options to a Maximum of 7,000 so your burned disc will have a better chance at playing in desktop players (which support burned discs, if at all, only as an "after thought" of the DVD specification)
Use AC3 or PCM audio transcode settings for best player compatibility (some discussion of MPEG audio not being supported by all players, especially for NTSC discs)
Buy and use Taiyo Yuden (or Verbatim?) brand blank discs

  • My finished DVD has wrong audio

On IDVD3, I'm only burning one quicktime file which has it's own sound, somehow the finished DVD has sound from a different source. Can't find anywhere on the setting where this audio is coming from.

    Hi Martin
How did You go to iDVD ?
    - from within iMovie and Share/Export to iDVD function
    - working with FCE/P and had QT.mov files that was dropped into iDVD a theme.
If from iMovie do like this instead.
    a) Close iMovie
    b) find the project icon/folder
    c) Ctrl-click on it and Show package.
    d) in this there are a folder -> Shared Movies -> iDVD
    e) in this there is a QT movie nnnnnnn.mov
    -   You can test this with QT-player so that this is OK -
    f) drop this into an open theme in iDVD and save it as a desktop image
(if iDVD prior HD/5 You have to add a hack to make this possibly
    named HPfurz and install it)
Test this with Apple DVD-player - OK then burn it with iDVD
or Toast if You have and don’t want to re-code the movie.

  • Display aux audio track in viewer

Is is possible to display the aux tc track as well as the source in the viewer tc overlay?
    Thanks Angus

no, not possible, but could be useful ... worth sending your feedback to Apple:
    http://www.apple.com/feedback/finalcutpro.html
only workaround i can think of is to use TC Generator filter on the clips ... setting the TC to match the Aux TC

  • You insert the wrong audio track-quickest way to change it

If you're editing along and you realize you put audio channel 1 from the
source footage into the timeline, and you actually meant to put audio channel 2,
but you don't realize this until 20 edits later, what's the fastest way of
    fixing this?
I know you can match frame the clip that's there in the timeline, now the source
footage from which the audio came is in the viewer, and and you re-insert the correct audio channel. However, some editing systems give you the ability to just swap the source channels in a key stroke or two.
Is there any faster way to accomplish this in FCP?
    Thanks.

You can do it in just a few keystrokes with match frame. Just patch it the way you want, match frame and overwrite. That's 2 keystrokes since when you match frame FCP automatically marks the IN and OUT. Obviously this is a bit more difficult if you have a lot of split edits..

  • Problems with audio track when burnt to DVD

    Hi there,
I'm using CS4, and have created a 30 minute film which I've exported as an H.264 - it's 653MB. When I play this file from my PC, it's perfect. When I burn it to a data DVD, however, the audio track is interrupted every few seconds with blips of silence - like it's stalling. (I've been unable to burn it as a video DVD so far as the various software I've tried rejects the file format.)
I've burnt it twice on my laptop and once on another desktop with the same results. I urgently need to send the file to a Mac owner - what should I do? Could this be a fault with the file or with the burning software? Perhaps I didn't do something right with the audio track?
    I'll greatly appreciate your help!
    Thank you :-)

    For authoring a DVD-Video, follow Harm's advice and Export to DV-AVI Type II w/ 48KHz 16-bit PCM/WAV Audio.
For a DVD-Data, you should not have an issue with the H.264, BUT some have had problems if using Apple's H.264. Many users find that the Lead, or MainConcept H.264 has fewer issues.
Also, do you have a Matrox card? They have been known to cause Audio issues, so you will definitely want to update any Matrox drivers.
    Good luck,

  • How to extract one of several audio tracks from a .vob file?

    Hi guys,
hope you can help me, i'm looking for a solution for hours now but can't find one.
I would like to know how to extract one audio track from a .vob file when there are different tracks/languages on the dvd? Media encoder does it very well, but i can't find the option for choosing the right audio track/language for extraction. Please help
    Kind regards
    Alex

This is because the OMF specification requires mono audio files
It really depends on what you are trying to do with the two tracks as to the best answer as far as 'grouping'
You could select all the clips on both tracks and right mouse click and select 'group'
You could send both tracks to a bus
You could export the two tracks to a stereo file and bring that back into the session
Lots more things I'm sure but a little more detail as to what you are trying to do would help

  • The error in SRM7.0-You are not authorized to display the auction

    Hi, My Expert :
I work in SRM 7.0 . The purchaser created one Auction and published it .When the bidder logon the system and click the "Live Auction ", the system displayed"You are not authorized to display the auction".I guess that there is  something wrong with the LAC. Or orthers?
      BR!
      Alex!

    Hello Alex,
The link you have mentioned opens a Java applet which is called as live auction cockpit.
The views will be diff depending upon the role purchaser/bidder.
But for this the Java server has to be properly integrated with the SRM server.
basis has to correctly define the authorisations of the integrating user.
Please check this with the help of LAC installation guide

  • Can the arrangement of Video 7 Audio tracks be changed in Elements 11

I am accustomed to Prem. pro where the video tracks are grouped & the audio tracks are grouped in a different group on the timeline.
Can this be done in Elements 11?
    Details please.

Only to a degree. In PrE, one can display either Audio Tracks, or Video Tracks, or both, grouped as they are, with Video Tracks and Audio Tracks next to each other.
Personally, I like the PrPro layout better, as I nearly always work on Video first, and then Audio later on. However, many PrPro users beg for the PrE layout. I find it occupies a lot of real estate, and really like the separation much better.
I am going to Move this thread out to the main PrE Forum, so that others can comment, as they will likely not see it here.
    Good luck,

  • Audio track missing on timeline when I insert clip from source monitor

I have the following problem with PP CS6: my media contains two alternate mono tracks (one with the signal boosted as an insurance) and I have PP set up to treat them as two mono tracks, rather than one stereo track. Everything works fine when I drag media directly to the timeline from the project panel. But when I use the source monitor to select in and out points, and then insert the chosen clip into the timeline, only one of the two audio tracks appears on the timeline. Can anyone please explain how to make sure I get both tracks on the timeline via this route?
    Thanks
    DM

    Hi Jim,
Thanks for replying. Unfortunately this doesn't apply to my case. I've set PP's default behaviour to import as dual mono in Edit\Preferences\Audio. This allows me to drag media from the project panel to the timeline and get two sediscrete mono channels. My problem is that when I go the source monitor route, any clip that I insert does not display two audio tracks on the timeline, just one. I have discovered I can switch the source channel from left to right, which to all intents and purposes fixes my problem, but I would like to maintain the option of getting both channels displayed separately on the timeline if possible.
    Thanks
