End of image flag?

Am writing a stenography software (hobby) am kinda stuck, i need to know what kind of bytes does jpgs/bmp/gif have to determine eoi (end of image)

These file formats usually consist of a series of records, each starting with a type flag and length. You'll need to find the specification for each file if you're going to do it with the files. Actually I'd have thought you'd be better off loading the image into a BufferedImage and tweaking that rathere than processing the image files yourself. You can't put stenographic date into the control fields etc. anyway for obvious reasons.

  • Ziswin setting "just imaged flag"

    Hey people.
Does anyone know of a way to set the just imaged flag from inside windows via commandline/script or in any automated way? I'm trying to use Microsofts Deployment Toolkit and get ISD (Image Safe Data) to work. The problem is that the process completly wipes the disk so all image safe data gets deleted. I've solved this with the import/export feature of ziswin, and it works like a charm. The problem though is the just imaged flag. Or is there some way to start the "novell-isdservice" and force it to restore data from the ISD-area?

  • Delay-updates-until-end-of-tx flag behavior in WLS 6.1 SP4

    Hi All!
I'm a bit in trouble with a strange behavior with the
    <delay-updates-until-end-of-tx> tag.
I didn't find any message about my problem here around, so I don't
know if I missunderstand something. Has somebody had the same
    (following) experience?
We are migrating from WLS 5.1 to WLS 6.1
We tried do keep ejbs "as are" in 5.1, so we're talking about EJB 1.1
on WLS 6.1: it should be allowed!
Everything works fine, but when a session bean (SL) modifies some
entity bean(CMP or BMP) and try to read from it in the same
transaction, read data are NOT up to date.
To solve this problem with WLS 5.1 we used the
delayUpdatesUntilEndOfTx tag, and it went fine, but with WLS 6.1 it
doesn't work, even if reading bea docs I understand it should.
Looking at the console, flags are correctly un-setted for the entity
beans we need, but the behavior is like if it wasn't.
    Any idea?
    Thanx in advance, Paolo.

    Hi
Well, delay-updates-until-end-of-tx is setted tu false, so it
shouldn't wait 'til the end, but write immediately.
When I "read" I call finders.
Anyhow, I went on with tests, and tried to use EJB 2.0 entity beans,
    and it works fine.
So now I have 1.1 session bean on 2.0 entity beans well working.
It seems that troubles are only with 1.1 entity beans on WLS 6.1.
1.1 entities on WLS 5.1, and 2.0 entities on WLS 6.1 are ok for me.
    Maybe a bug?
    Paolo.

  • ODI 11g SCD@ IKM is not updating End Time and Flag

I am implementing this IKM from Oracle ODI 11g and after executing it inserts a new row/dimension [which is correct] but sets the flag indicator for old and new ros both to '1' and Ending Timestamp value is not set for old row [I was expecting the ending timestamp will be updated ot todays timestamp but not happening]. I follwed all the steps mentioend in SCD2 [in this forum] and made the column behaviour to appropirate SCD Behavior. I do not have any "Update Row on change" but all the details are "Add row on change" apart from Starting Timestamp, ending timestamp and Current Indicator flag.
Can any one help me with this issue? Please let me know what details you need to debug or make analyze it.
Thank you and appreciate in advance for your help

I guess that is correct. 'historize old rows' was missing in my SCD2 [I have copied it from Oracle SCD2 and might have removed that command [??] But after your response, I checked and used the original SCD2 and it's working after fixing few issues with End Date in my data. Thanks .

  • Slide Show Screen Saver Superimposed Images Flag or Ball -- Bug?

    Hi,
I have searched and found two other archived questions on this topic, but no real answers. Please help!
I have the screen saver set to do a slide show from the Pictures folder, where I have lots of family photos. This works fine, but about every 10th photo or so, it shows the picture, and the next image is the same photo, with a weird low-res ("jagged edges"), blown-up (full-screen), icon-like image in the middle, superimposed upon my image. It's usually circular, often has a national flag or comic scheme to it, sometimes has a face, and always has effects to make it look round like a ball, which it usually is in shape (though sometimes it's not circular). When I look, my images have not been altered recently and don't seem affected, so the problem seems to reside in the system, right?
I'm not a techie but I have used Mac since 1985 and remember reading several years back in one of the Mac mags about such a problem -- whether termed a trojan or whatever. I do have all my old Mac data and apps in a folder on my mini, so it's possible it could have been pulled over from my last Mac and a remnant of some prior vulnerability. But I've never seen this behavior before OSX, neither Norton nor ClamXav finds a problem, and I can't seem to find ref to that article by net searching or here. What causes this, and how can I solve it? It really bothers my mother-in-law to see pix of her grandkids with weird flags superimposed on them, and I'm wondering if this is some Mac problem with more serious consequences not yet discovered by Norton or ClamXav. Thanks.
P.S. Here's the text of one of the archived messages:
    Screen saver
    Posted: Oct 3, 2006 11:24 AM
Whenever the slide show runs from my pictures out of iphoto on my screen saver, other pictures appear occasionally on top of my pictures. They are usually other country flags or weird shapes with jagged edges. Any idea how to keep this from happening or where these other pictures are coming from? Thanks.
    Mini   Mac OS X (10.4.8)

The problem is not with the screensaver but rather that the Pictures folder insists on having the iChat flags alias inside it. Since the screensaver recognizes aliases I have moved all my photos out of the "Pictures" folder and into another folder called "Pictures not screensaver". This is because the screensaver will show ALL pictures in the Pictures folder regardless of how embarassing they are. That leaves the Pictures folder for just aliases to pictures or folders of pictures. This allows me to control exactly what pictures are shown on the screensaver. It is an area of OSX that needs some improvement.
Regarding the superimposed images, that is normal. Those iChat icons are transparent, while JPGs are not transparent. Screensaver piles newer pictures on top of older pictures. If it piles transparent images such an GIF or PNG on top of previous pictures they may be transparent and cause an alarming effect.
I have imagined this feature could be used in some cool way but have never seen anyone do it. For example, nice JPG backgrounds with semi-transparent PNGs on top with zooming animals. I suspect Apple will introduce such a screensaver in 10.5.

  • Finding Images Flagged by the Review

Some image is missing in my document (in the sense that I am flagged every time I try to save). The problem is Pages knows exactly what it is talking about (image.pict). I have no clue. And I have no way to track down the errant image and replace it. It would be nice if the Review feature allowed you to navigate directly to the offending image for correction. Perhaps, I've missed something, but I can't find any way to locate and replace the image. Any ideas? I am working with a converted Word document.

Another option -- maybe the best of both worlds --
    - Control-click to select all of the subfolders
    - Edit -> Select All
    - Click on the parent folder
    - Edit -> Invert Selection
Now images not in subfolders are selected, and you can also see them in context with the others.

  • MovieClipLoader - end of play flag

    Hello all,
    I am making a
movie slideshow viewer with sound. I would like the
functionality to be similar to a self-playing
still image slide viewer, but with each "movie slide" being
a small SWF movie with sound. Each of these individual "movie
    slides" varies in length (time).
My plan was/is to create a "master.swf" which uses the
MovieClipLoader class to load in each of the individual "movie
slide" SWFs (which would be named "slave_0.swf", "slave_1.swf",
"slave_2.swf" etc...). The problem with this method is that I do
not know how to have my loaded SWF movie slide (slaves) "tell" the
"master.swf" file that, ok, I have loaded
and played my entire timeline, so it's ok to load up the
next slave. Is there a nice way to have the slave (loaded via MCL)
tell its master that it has finished playing its timeline and that
the master now needs to bring in the next slave?
Or, is it better to stream all of my SWF's into FLV files and
    use a NetStream class?
Any info would be very much appreciated.

    > but you can, in the last frame of each slave, place a
    function call back

How would this function in the slave's last frame look?
Something that just sends a variable back up to the master, or
    what?
    > ...or you can initiate a loop in the master that
continually checks the play-progress of the slave.
How would this loop look? Some sort of OnEnterFrame deal?
Thanks for input thus far -- appreciated!

  • Lightroom Mobile... Undo flag when filtering images?

Is there a way to undo the last images flag status in Lightroom Mobil when your in a filter by unflaged state whithout going back to the grid view and changing the filter to All sulecting the last image and changing the flag to whatever?

Are there any files listed as part of the "All Sync Errors collection"?
If not could you try to remove the sync.lrdata file and restart LrD. This would restart/refresh the sync (metadata only).
Removing the Sync.lrdata might fix whatever the issue is.  Or, at least, might trigger it to occur again.
You can find the  sync.lrdata file here:
    On Mac it's at /Users/<user>/Library/Caches/Adobe/Lightroom/Sync Data/Sync.lrdata
On Win it would be at C:\Users\<user>\AppData\Local\Adobe\Lightroom\Caches\Sync Data\Sync.lrdata
Let me know if it's now working.

  • Image-safe data not writing to new images ...

Hello, I am new to Zenworks Imaging, but I have lots of the pieces working
on our system. One bit that I don't understand is the Image-Safe Data, so
I'm wondering if someone can enlighten me. Here's our setup ...
    SITUATION:
A school district with three primary servers:
    - The big Novell 6.5 Server with eDirectory and the usual Novell goodness
    installed.
    - A second server with SUSE Linux OES 9, DNS, Groupwise 7, and Zenworks 7.
    - A third server with SUSE Linux OES 9 and DHCP.
I am new, and these folks currently use Ghost - but now want to switch to
Zenworks Imaging. I successfully started all the Zenworks services on the
SUSE server, checked to make sure our Windows XP SP2 lab computers (already
registered in eDirectory) have the Zenworks client software (they do), and
enabled PXE image uploads and downloads for individual computers using
Console One. So far so good! The school district has a numbering scheme for
their workstations (all the computers are in the same NDS STATION container
and are named HSLAB01, HSLAB02, HSLAB03, etc). I used Ghost to install a
fresh image on a lab computer, changed the Image-Safe Data to HSLABxx, and
copied the image to the server. I didn't change any of the ZisWin mask
settings (they are all cleared and empty), nor did I clear the SID information.
    PROBLEM:
When the computer finishes the imaging process and restarts, I always end
up with a computer named HSLABxx (instead of HSLAB01 or HSLAB02 or whatever
the Image-Safe Data should change on that computer). Except for this issue,
it seems like everything else (PXE startup, PXE imaging, etc) works fine
(although I could have other issues I'm not aware of).
    TROUBLESHOOTING:
I have tried an increasingly confusing number of changes to the ZisWin
interface before imaging, including checking and unchecking the mask
options, clearing the SID information, etc. with no good results. There is
also one "wild card" in that the computers start up and log in as a Windows
Limited Account (and not an Administrator-level account). I was wondering
if the ZisWin and image-safe data writing requires an administrator-level
login (but from what I'm reading online, the image-safe data is written
before the Windows login). There is one other issue I can find - when I use
the "rpm -qa | grep novell-z" command at the console, there are no 7.0.1
files listed, so I think my Zenworks installation is only 7.0 (but I don't
want to change anything until I track down the likely source of this problem).
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
    Thanks, Mike O'Reilly

ziswin is doing its job as a service if the image save data contains the
just imaged flag and will do its stuff before the user locks in an requires
a reboot after that. there was also a bug which should have been fixed in
    the latest patches of 6.5

  • Adding (new) images to an ongoing Book Project in LR4

I´m currently working on a book project in Lightroom 4. I´m trying to add pictures (new pictures), but that does not seem to work on an ongoing book project.
    Any tips on this?

To add images to a saved book, I found that the easiest way is to do as mentioned above. While in Library mode, drag the images you want to add to the saved book (it will be one of the collections in the left panel).
You will see that the image count increments for that collection.  Click on the collection to see the set of images, you can confirm that the new image(s) were added. Part of my confusion was that the new images were mixed rather than appearing at the end or being flagged in some way.
When you click on the saved book collection, you will also see a small arrow appear in th collection's name. You can click that to go straight to the book.
The new images will appear only in the filmstrip at the bottom of the screen, if you haven't opened the filmstrip, you won't see them. From the strip you can drag and drop your added images to available spots in your book layout.   I'm not a fan of the filmstrip and definitely not a fan that this is the only way you can do some things in LR.
    Hope this helps.  Dennis

  • New to imaging, Questions about ZIS

Hello there. I am a new PC tech at my local school district. I'm just starting to delve into the ever so fascinating world of Zenworks and am currently at an unclear understanding. The admin is ready and waiting to push out a setup that includes Windows Active Directory. As I've read and been lead to understand in the forums here Zenworks imaging by default is suppose to save ISD info when it does an image. Most notable is workstation name of course. I have noticed that when imaging off of the server directly this does not occur. However when I've imaged from one PC as a master to any number of others, it does occur. Is there special criteria that must happen for this to work? What I need to be able to do is image and not worry about losing PC name and the SID info, otherwise everytime we image, we will have to clear the SID info on the server and reset it on said computer(s). Any help is greatly appreciated.

Once you computers have been imported into Zenworks the computer name is maintained in the Image Safe Data (ISD) within the first 60ish sectors of the hard drive outside of the partitionable space. When you reimage the machine the zenworks agent picks up on and maintains the name of the computer in the ISD.
And the reverse is true in that changing the computer name, will change the computer name in the ISD on the next reboot. From within windows you can have a look with ziswin and from the bash prompt with zisview.
Likely overly simplified as the "Just Imaged Flag" influences the direction of the synchronization per se.
In short.. you may need to set the computer name once, but not for subsequent times when you reimage. Depending upon your naming scheme you may wish to grab a utility called 'wsname' and have it on your base image, and call it with the cmdlines.txt. This should give your computer a name based upon various criteria such as serial tag.. or IP or Mac Add, etc..
