English Language Teaching system

Hello all,
i am totally new to JSP. My problem i have go t is that i have been asked to create a system that allows students to take a test online about a book they have read. It wil be a multiple choice test which will return the answers and their score. There wil be alot of books which tests can be took on. I was informed that JSP is the best way of achieving this? (with a database also)
Can anyone help me out here on how i would achieve this or point me in the right direction?
Thanks for your help,

hi
The first thing you would like to do is finalize your data model.
Jsps will only help you in building views
that would ask the user questions on the book,
let them know if they are right or wrong,
give them a report of the test taken
ask them for which book to give the test on.

  • How can I use premiere pro cc in english language with german keyboard layout/german shortcuts on a mac?

    Hi,
how is it possible to use a german keyboard with its german shortcuts on premiere pro cc in english language on a mac?
I use all my softwares in english.
But aside adobe I can use or change in other softwares (Avid, FCP7, FCPX) to use german keyboard shortcuts on a german logic keyboard.
With After Effects CC I could add a german .txt to a language folder to the installed english version and tataaa:
I could use german keyboard and the german shortcuts on an english installed AE CC.
And in PS there is also a trick.
But in Premiere Pro CC this language .txt doesn´t exist.
And there are many shortcuts that differ from english to german.
Last Job I worked on a PC with the english installed language version, and I could work with the german QWERTZ Logickeyboard
    and use the german shortcuts.
I googled and googled and even talked to the support. But no real helpful answer.
Maybe it was easier to do in Premiere CS6. Was it possible there?
So how is it possible to use a german keyboard QWERTZ with german shortcuts on Premiere Pro CC in english language on a mac?
    Thanks for your help.

It's really bothering. All Training material is in english and I have setup my complete system with all apps in english.
With all the apps shortcuts work just fine, just with Premiere Pro CC it doesn't do it at all .....

  • How to force english language for VC BI Iview

    Hi,
All developments in BI system are english so when users launch VC BI Iview from the portal what ever the logon language in the portal we would like that users get results in english.
In the VC iview, for parameter Forced Request Language we select value English but it doesn't work.
We don't find other iview parameter which allows to do that.
With BEX WEB template iview, we can do that by setting LANGUAGE=EN for parameter Application Parameters in the
    iview.
Do you know how to force English language for VCBI Iview ?
Thanks in advance for your help.
    Mai

    Hello,
If you use Delta Links between your portal objects (role, workset, page, iview), make sure that the Forced Request Language is set to "English" on the linked iView (which is only accessible from the page, from the workset, from the role...)

  • Customer conversion for non-english language

    Hi:
We have a requirement to convert customer data from lagacy system to Oracle EBS supporting English and Non-English languages. Our conversion programs for english is working fine but we are not sure about the approach for other language converions. Can anyboody share the knowledge if faced similar requirements?
    Thanks /Santanu

I believe your conversion programs should work regardless of the language the data is stored in, as long as the database and Apps use UTF8 characterset. To the code, data is data, whether it is in English or in another language. Your approach should be to test your conversion programs in test instances and tweak them as necessary. Are there specific concerns you have with using data in other languages ?

  • Customer Mss Upload with non ENGLISH language

    Hi,
I have a BDC program which uploads customer Address data into the system.
Now I have some customer data with non english characters like chinese and Japanese. If I try to upload this data with english language LOGON then data doesnt updates correctly but if I use the corresponding language logon and upload the same data then it works fine.
Is there any ways I can upload these non english customer data with english system logon using BDCs or do I need to use any other approach?

    Hi Benson,
Can you please elaborate on the issue. What characters are missing?

  • Can I use my Japanese keyboard while using English language?

    Hi
I'm a complete noob when it comes to Mac's as this is my first.
I purchased a Mac with a Japanese keyboard as i'm half Japanese and use Japanese quite alot.
I'm wondering if I can use the Japanese keyboard whilst in English language mode.
I can get it to type Romaji but it won't seem to let me use the actual Japanese letters that are on the keys whilst i'm in English language.
If anyone knows a way please tell me.
    Cheers

set desirable system lang (US-en) first in (editable) list here, add all keyboards you need, remove anything you don't need:
    Everything you checkmark here:
will appear in "flag" menu near system clock:

  • Set English language in other regions

When I first installed Snow Leopard, I selected Italy as region but with english language.
As a result, under Language & Text in System Preferences, my region in the Formats was set to "Italy (English)", that is the italian format but with months and days names in english.
I accidentally changed that setting and selected "Italy (Italian)" and now I see months and days names in italian but with system language set to english.
I tried to restore the original setting, but there is no "Italy (English)" option under regions.
I also tried to change in italian the system language and then change it back to english, but the days names are still in italian.
Aside from defining a Custom format, is there a way to restore the "Italy (English)" original setting?
    Thank you

    Hi again Sgab,
I did try setting it to en_IT here and it's worked as expected. Perhaps it's because we are using different versions of OS X (mine is 10.7.4).
As a last resort, you might want to try setting the system-wide preferences like that (instead of only for your user which the previous command did):
    defaults write -g AppleLocale en_IT
Now "defaults read -g AppleLocale" should return en_IT.
Even if that doesn't work, I noticed that it's possible (and possibly it's the only recommended way of doing that) to set an equivalent configuration like that:
In System Preferences -> Language & Text -> Formats:
    - In the Regions menu select an English speaking country that has a date/time format you like
    - In Currency menu select your currency format
    - Also make sure the Measurement units menu is correct

This actually isn't controlled by Active Directory but by the core operating system and its language packs.

  • Chinese language pack on English-language Nokia E7...

I'm based in Manila and just bought a Nokia E72 cellphone here locally in the Philippines. The unit is labeled E72-1.
I needed a cellphone which can display Chinese-language (both Traditional & Simplified Chinese) characters.
Unfortunately, this E72 I bought here only has the English language.
I've read that the Nokia E72 in Hong Kong / Taiwan / Singapore can display both English and Chinese language.
Is it possible to have the Nokia E72 add a Chinese language pack to display Chinese characters? I really need the Chinese display capability since I regularly have contacts who send me important SMS messages with Chinese characters.
If it's not possible to add the Chinese character display capability, I may be forced to let go of this Nokia E72 and perhaps have to order it instead from Hong Kong (or perhaps Taiwan or Singapore) where I presume the Nokia E72 there will have the English + Chinese display capability built-in.
Although not as important as the Chinese-display capability, I would also like if it could have Chinese language input capability installed on this E72. Is this also possible?
Note that I don't need the phone system menus/commands to be displayed in Chinese language (and actually prefer them to be English language). I only need the phone to display/input Chinese characters in the SMS messages.
Please advise so that I can make a decision as soon as possible, whether to let go of this locally-bought E72 with only English language and instead procure a unit from abroad with the Chinese language display (and input) capability.

I'd like to add some more information which may or may not be exactly useful for those who have the same issue as mine:
Adding as much Chinese as possible on the E72 without Chinese language pack:

Mobile dictionary language packages Translate words into the language of your choice. Add new languages to your pre-installed Mobile dictionary application from Mobile dictionary download page >>Text-to-Speech language packages and voice packages
Let your phone read your messages out loud with Text-to-speech, a tool which allows you to listen to text messages, multimedia messages, and emails. To utilize your Message Reader application download language packages and voice packages at the Text-to-speech page >>
    1) Using the above page, one can download Chinese dictionary (Traditional and Simplified Chinese versions available).
It seems that after installing both dictionaries for the Mobile Dictionary application, I can fire up the Mobile Dictionary app and choose Target language to Traditional and Simplified Chinese.  The Traditional Chinese characters don't seem to display (some characters display while others are "square boxes"; but the Simplified Chinese characters appear to display correctly.)
So, it appears that the dictionary app can display Chinese characters (at least Simplified Chinese) after installing, although the SMS messages still display "square boxes" where there are Chinese characters.
    2) Download Chinese [Mandarin] (or Chinese [HK]) language text-to-speech.  Now even though the E72 doesn't display Chinese characters (they show up as square boxes), I can use the msg reader to read those "square boxes" messages and it will read them in Chinese.  So at least, that's one way of having Chinese read back to you although the characters themselves can't be displayed.  (Set Language Detection to "On" in the Speech settings so it automatically recognizes Chinese; or one could also set the Voice Language to Mandarin Chinese so that even the voice prompts are read in Mandarin Chinese -- however, if Language Detection is set to "Off", it will try to read English SMS messages as per Chinese pinyin -- ie. incorrectly.).
One bug I notice is that for Chinese character email messages (Nokia Messaging). If I set my Language to English, but set the Speech setting of Language Detection to "On", and then activate the "Listen/Read" email messages, then the Msg Reader will hang up the phone. I had to use a utility called JBakTaskman to forcefully close Msg Reader (if don't have JBakTaskman, then have to turn off the phone and turn it back on).  So it looks like while the Language Detection can auto-detect Chinese characters in SMS messages and read them properly in Chinese, it seems to hang up in Email Messages.

  • By mistake I have lost My "Firefox" that was in the English language & instead I have one in a foreign language. How do I change it back yo English?

I have an apple computer.A week or so ago a window appeared that ask if I wanted an upgrade on Mozilla Firefox & if so click on "Install" which I did. Somehow by mistake this changed my Firefox program from the English language to a foreign language.( I think it might be "Turkish" but not sure.) How do I change it back to English?

Firefox 4 and later require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

  • Reiunstalling Lion and/or the English language files

I accidently deleted nearly ever English language file whilst intentionally deleting all languages to generate more disk space in my system.  Now I find that things like Safari only open up in teh Spanish language, I can't open Finder from the Dock as well as other software.
I want tor restore my operating system to it's normal state but as the operating system was preinstalled on my iMac I seem to be hitting barriers no matter what I try.
Is there a way that allow sme to re-download the operating system and install it on a USB or DVD and then do a clean boot and install from there?

you don't need or want any utilities. When you boot to the Recovery HD you have 4 options. one of those is Reinstall Mac OS X. That is the one you want.
Are you holding down Command+r and getting to the Recovery HD?
You could try the Internet Recovery HD system. Hold down the Command+Option+r keys until you see a spinning globe in the center of the screen. Have the computer connected to your internet router with an Ethernet cable. That will boot the system from over the internet. Again select Reinstall Mac OS X.
