As familiar as I thought I was with Android (via my phones) I thought I would've figure out by now how to get this screen back for other uses. But so far no luck. Is 1//3 of my available Home screen space really reserved for TV and Movies (and, at that, apparently only the ones downloaded from Google Play)?

Bingo! You were absolutely right! And now that widget is gone.
Unfortunately, so is the screen it was occupying. Now, instead of three screens I have but two - - the original center screen and the one that had previously been the right-hand screen.
Which prompts the question of how and where pages are added or deleted from the home screens.

Search big lag for books and Movies

Not sure why but with new version of iTunes searching on books and movies is super slow.
I type out say a word like "Star" it reads each letter and takes about 10 seconds for each character to come out.
It doesn't happen in the music library though.
Can someone tell me why?

All I can say is you are not alone. I downloaded a book From Itunes Store and it downloaded in to Recently added and show's up no where else. It is not added to the Audiobooks area and you would think that because I purchased it might go in the right place. Also just FYI if you download a mpeg movie it disappears as well. And although you imported it in to your library it disappears and can not even be found with the search tool in itunes.

We have to show the batch data after GR is done with respect to different movement types. I got a table CHVW which gives the data for batch , movement type ,material and quantity.But data for 302 and 541 movement types is not updating in this table.Is there any other table for these two movements?Please suggest.

Search for string and move decimal

Hello,
I am trying to write code that will search for a fractional string within an array and convert it from mV to V so it can be properly compared to the other fractional string numbers in the array.
I have an array that outputs x iterations each with a minimum and maximum column including several different types of decimal strings (negative/positive with several decimal places) each ending with either mV and V (example string: -725.543mV).
I then split the array into columns containing the minumum and maximum values of each iteration. I want to compare the minimum values of each iteration and find the most minimum, and do the same thing with the maximum values.
Unfortunatley the way I'm doing it, when I convert from fractional string to number it removes the V or mV unit label but does not convert the number from mV to V. so it compares -725.543mV with -52.334V as -725.543 & -52.334 thus declaring the mV value the most minimum. I need the program to recognize that mV is less than V or search each array for values labeled with mV and move the decimal place so it is in standard V format.
The unit label is actually part of the string and not the display (as you can see in the code I've attached) and I understand this is a little tricky with the way I have to do it. But this is a dumbed down chunk of code I will eventually incorporate into my larger program which reads the values and their units from several different types of oscilloscopes. The Scopes output the values as strings as they appear on the screen and don't differentiate between mV and V unless they are told to output the units which just tags them on the end of the string.
I'm sorry for the large post. SO to sum up I need to search an array to make sure all values have the same units, if they don't I need to convert each value to the proper unit and output the max and min from the resulting array. my code is attached. Thank you for your help.

To move your calendars, follow the second set of numbered instructions here:

Then you can sign out of iCloud in System Preferences>iCloud.

Green screen for videos and movies

i upgraded all the software for itunes and quicktime. using another post for 'green screen for video previews', i modified some settings in quicktime and one of them now has strips of static across the green. quite frustrating...

I could be off the mark, but you may need to install the version of iTunes here: iTunes for Windows (64-bit — for older video cards).
And then repair/reinstall QuickTime 7.7.6 for Windows.
If that works for you then the next time Apple Software Update or iTunes tells you there is a new version revisit the first link. It should be updated with a new "for older video cards" version that will work with QuickTime.

Scanning computer for music and move to itunes

Recently upgraded to Windows 7 and person helping me moved all my music to an external drive. Now want to get back into Itunes but playlists are gone and music is not organized. How do I get itunes to look for music and import to itunes - or should I just stick with Windows media player?

In the past, 10.6.6+ was suppose to - and sometimes did - provide for a download drivers from within Boot Camp Assistant program, in order to save them to flash or such (that should be about 1GB, too large for CD). Some macs req'd a USB-DVD or other driver that was needed pre-install of Winidows
You don't install Apple drivers until after Windows is installed otherwise,
It is possible for me, with a tower, to run w/o needing any drivers from Apple. But with laptops, mini, you do need some drivers from Apple for graphics, internet, wireless, SMC support.
And right now, loading any Apple support Tech Note articles is very very slow.
People keep asking why Apple can't post 3.0 or 4.0 like they do the updates. Only logic is to force t he download from inside OS X or from an OS X DVD. Otherwise would be here, and avoid all the trouble. they aren't of use on a PC, and any PC motherboard vendor does post their support software for download.

Thumbnails for Videos and Movies are Blank or Black?

I've just "upgraded" to iPhoto 11. Now most of my video or movie files have black and blank thumbnails. The movies don't start out with a black frame, it's that iPhoto isn't registering a thumbnail for some reason. I looked through the archive but the suggestions are focused on previous versions of iPhoto.
Any suggestions?

I tried this as well. Rebuilding with all the different rebuild options (which does take a long time) and with no joy I'm afraid - still have black thumbnails for video images.
FYI: Tried a rebuilding in iPhoto Library Manager too
Problem still persists. Any one have any ideas on this, I have so many videos with this issue ... black thumbnail image/preview in iPhoto - but (thankfully) the video file is definitely there and does play.
Any ideas appreaciated.

1 to 1 relationship for installation and premise

We would like the ability to prevent end users from selecting a premise that is already tied to an installation to a new installation. We have incurred billing error situations when a customer has been moved into two separate installations that share the same premise. Our current solution is to flag the duplicate installation for deletion but this does not prevent someone from being moved into that installation. Is there something that can be used to resolve our problem?

Why .m4v for SD and .mov for HD?

When exporting files from iMovie '11 (9.0.4) the default for the low-res sizes (less than 720p) is .m4v, which when double-clicked is opens in iTunes, while for hi def (720p and up) the default is .mov, which when double-clicked is opened by QuickTime.
Why is this? Is there something different about these more than just the file type? Both are H.264. So what is the difference and why?

in the 'pro'-section for video processing, there are endless discussions about 'all-i', which some declare 'just bloated!', others declare the motion-detection of forthcoming (!!) h.265 superior etc etc etc.
a) the better (=less compressed) the input, the better the output
b) quality lies in the eye of the beholder
c) size doesn't matter, but distance
d) test your limits yourself

Seperate library for music and movies

is it possible to have an itunes library for music in one folder (say on the internal drive), and an itunes library for movies (for syncing to appletv) on an external hard drive??
ive had a quick look at how to create a new library (by holding option when opening itunes) but don't have time at the moment to look into too much detail.

i guess your answer is right where you don't have time to look into. hold down option while opening iTunes and create a new library on your external drive. add your movies into this new library. then, if you want to swith your library, you just have to relauch iTunes by holding option again.
i suggest that, to avoid any issue, you locate the library that will reference the content of your external drive in your external drive. so if you ever start iTunes without your external drive while iTunes was still using the library that reference content of your external drive, it will prompt you accordingly.
