Enhancement request: Branch report

I think this has come up many times on the forum, but I would really like to see better branch reports under application reports.
For example
1. show me all pages that don't have a single branch defined. This would avoid the sheepish grin when users report that error Page xx has no page to branch to.

Naming branches rather than the faceless list in the branch development screen would make this much better. We have quite a complex page which has the following list of branches - anyone fathom a guess what each one does? The report on clicking the Branch heading is a little better but still a name would be better.

    I would like the ability to associate a report with a specific connection to avoid the connection selection. Reports not associated would still show the connection selection dialog. Thanks.

  • Enhancement request: Bulk edit features

    As much as I love Apex and think it is the greatest thing since sliced bread (what's so great about sliced bread anyway!), after one gains a certain amount of proficiency with using the tool, one realizes that there are many areas where the Builder application simply gets in your way. You know exactly what you want to do, you know how to do it, but the Apex Builder doesn't support a "do this 20 times" feature!
    For instance
    1. Deleting multiple pages - This came up on another thread recently. The Builder makes you click 2 buttons (Delete and Confirm) to delete a page and then takes you to page 0 (or the previous page or something) and then you need to go back to the next page and repeat the process.
    There should be a "delete multiple pages" feature in the Builder
    2. Creating a list - I have a bunch of links/URLs that I would like to create a list from. The Builder interface (tabular form) has us add each list entry at a time.
    I would prefer that it has a honking big textarea where I could dump all the links at once and it creates all the list entries at once. I could always go and tweak individual entries if I like.
    Same thing for adding to other Shared components like LOVs, breadcrumbs, tabs, etc. I am not saying a textarea-based interface would work for everything, but anything has to be better than doing it one by one.
    3. Access to the Report Column Attributes page - This is too painful to access.
    Click on Edit page, click on Report, click on the column you want. 3 clicks!
    Instead, there should be a Quick Edit link next to each report column when the page is run that pops up the same page.
    4. Attaching a authorization scheme (or condition or build option or any applicable thing really) to a bunch of components at once.
    The Builder should have a nifty search page where we could search/filter (by name, component type, page#, etc) for the components we want and then allow us to apply a an "action" (i.e. auth. scheme) to all the selected components at once. Doing this one by one is error-prone, time-consuming and just plain boring!
    That's all that comes to mind at this time, I am sure others will have more.

    1. You misunderstand what I wrote about report columns. Marc Sewtz understood what I meant at Re: Enhancement request: Quick edit links for column attributes
    is very easy to bulk change (on the back end); the hard part is devising the proper screens for bulk change (font end)
    2. Absolutely, agree 100%. Which is why it might make sense for Oracle to expose metadata manipulation APIs (apex_metadata package similar to dbms_metadata!) so that power users can effect changes to the application metadata without going through the Builder at all!

    Many of the application reports allow for bulk change operations
    Right, but realistically speaking, you can never anticipate and build screens for all the things we would like to do. Which is why a command-line API would be invaluable.
    Just recently, I needed to change a bunch of HTML regions' templates in a application from Report Region to Hide/Show template. I couldn't find an application report/bulk edit page that let me do this, it was quite painful to do in the Builder.
    Another case in point: I used the "Form on SQL Query" wizard to quickly create a form page with a bunch of fields. But unfortunately, unlike the "Form on Table wizard", this wizard is not smart enough to create page items with a display-as depending on the datatype of the columns in the query. It creates all the form items as Text Fields. :-( There is no bulk-edit page (that I could find) that lets me change the display-as property for multiple items.

    Almost all fields required for VAT reporting are available in standard tax report
    S_ALR_87012357 .
    You have to configure the layout from the selection screen as below

  • Bug report / Feature enhancement request.

    I'm actually quite surprised that this nees to be reported as a problem.
    Why is it that the "World Clock" widget used in the dashboard doesn't have, built in, the time zone "GMT"?
    Yes, I can add it myself using the instructions on the net but it just seems so wierd that it's not in there to begin with.
    So, please, take this as a bug report/feature enhancement request to correct this oversight.

  • Enhancement Request - comments

    I've recently demonstrated the SQL Workshop within HTMLDB to a number of users of varying experience, and the response has been very positive indeed. However, a common complaint was that there is very little table and column specific (i.e. metadata) available through the object browser and the query builder. One way that this type of information might be held is through table and column comments (e.g. user_tab_comments and user_col_comments) however comments are not displayed in the object browser or query builder.
    Also, Although there's a table comment report in the utilities in the SQL Workshop, there is no easy (i.e. other than writing SQL) way of putting comments on tables, columns etc.
    Thus the main enhancement request is for comments on tables and columns displayed in the object browser and the query builder, and a follow up would be for the GUI to provide a method of maintaining that information.
    Alternatively, if a some links (i.e. on the table and individual columns) could be added to the object browser/query builder which linked to a customisable application (something akin to the security models), then metadata could be served through a custom built application. This would, IMHO, be the best approach - in fact the display of column and table comments could be the default, but allow an over-ride for a custom app.

    I just filed this enhancement request, pertaining to reconciling files between branches (parallel development).

    How would you like the feature to work?
    As a file is reconciled, it should either be removed from the window or at least dimmed.
    Why is this feature important to you?
    If you are interrupted during the course of reconciling multiple files, you can't often remember where you stopped.

    The OAUG Board of Directors and Oracle® Corporation have previously announced the Pilot Program for the OAUG Enhancement Request System (ERS). This system has been collaboratively designed to achieve objectives that are mutually beneficial to Oracle customers, the OAUG, and Oracle Corporation:
    * Provide a centralized and standardized solution for Oracle customers to submit, validate and have OAUG members vote on Oracle® Applications Enhancement Requests

    As i understood so far,Sales order is an auto generated number pre-configured by the SD consultant to fall within that number range...
    The following are only my suggestions .....
    (1)to check if it is possible through  configurations for having a number range similar to the external number provided these 2 are directly linked and that there is always a Sales order linked to every external number..........
    (2) we have a field called PO refernce number in the header.We can fill this field in the user exit of the include MV45AFZZ in userexit for move field to vbak and then in all the custom reports and programs link this field and standard VBELN number so that SAP flow is not affected.
    (3) check for enhancement spots wherein the vbeln field is overwritten immediatly after number generation...Please note that overwriting the standard field is a tiring task.,especially a key field..because we need to clearly understand which all tables are being updated with this number..so if the field vbeln has a parameter name(press F1 on Vbeln field and you will get the detail list ,with one field called "parameter name" ) assigned to it overwrite it with the required number so that all standard tables are relected with this number....(use F1 helo set/Get parameters to learn more)..try filling this parameter using set parameter statement  OR check for badis and user exits
    If I come across a possible exit ,will update you

  • Enhancement Request: Recalculate Sequence Numbers

    Hi
    Wherever apex has sequence numbers (for branchs, items, regions etc.), please could we have the ability to recalculate them based on increments of ten so for example items as follows:
    P_ITEM1 - sequence = 1
    P_ITEM1 - sequence = 11
    P_ITEM1 - sequence = 12
    P_ITEM1 - sequence = 100
    P_ITEM1 - sequence = 120
    Would become:
    P_ITEM1 - sequence = 10
    P_ITEM1 - sequence = 20
    P_ITEM1 - sequence = 30
    P_ITEM1 - sequence = 40
    P_ITEM1 - sequence = 50
    The option to exclude items with a sequence number of 999 from the recalculation would also be handy. This can become a bit of a pain when a page has been updated many times and you end up with bunching of sequence number so that if something has to be inserted between them, you have to edit a number of items or whatever to make that happen.
    If you could do a page-wide or application-wide recalculation - t'would also be cool.
    If this feature is available already, please point me to it.

    The Cleanup feature Paul mentioned is new in 4.0 but fyi in any version component sequence numbers accept non-integer values so you can always insert something anywhere without a need to resequence...Thanks! I never knew that! Oh yes. And they can be negative too. We have some very esoteric looking sequences...
    Actually the decimals are pretty useful for things like conditional display of regions. If you've got 3 related but mutually exclusive regions, numbering them 20.1, 20.2, and 20.3 indicates the relationship between them. Which brings me to another enhancement request: regions to have separate name and title properties (like pages do), so that where such regions have to have the same title shown to users, it's a lot easier for developers to tell them apart.

  • Enhancement Request 20623991: RFI Buyer Printable View or Supplier Printable View should capture responses from Suppliers / Evaluators

    Reference: SR 3-9765282261 : RFI Buyer Printable View report doesn't capture questionaire responded by Supplier
      The "Buyer Printable View" and "Supplier Printable View" in Oracle Sourcing should capture evaluator's / supplier's responses.  The work around given to view individual responses in each RFI is completely not practical.  If there are 3-5 parties responded to the distributed questionaires, then the buyer has to click each response to download PDF file.  The workaround process is very time consuming especially during audit season where there are tons of RFIs to be extracted.
       ER 20623991 has been logged. Please join me to vote for this enhancement request if you need this functionality too.  Your support is very much appreciated.

  • Bug/Enhancement Request

    When creating a new Form on a Table with Report, when you are Defining the report page, if you change the Page Name and Region Title and then select breadcrumbs, your changes are lost. The page number remains but the name and title revert back to the default.
    Also, we have a standard naming convention for the Page Name and Region Title. Can we setup our standard in the APEX Administration some place? If not, that would be a nice enhancement.

  • OLAP Enhancement request to support demographics

    Hi, I'd like to put in an enhancement request to better support demographics in OLAP cubes (see discussion here:
    Demographic Dimensions
    for an example).
    I'd like to request the following:
    1. Enable all attributes (not just long and short descriptions) to be displayed through the BI tools (BI Beans, spreadsheet add-in, etc.). Allow these to be used not only as items you can pick dimension values with (i.e. select all shirts with color attribute = green), but allow them to be used as full "mini-dimensions" - i.e. even through "color" is an attribute of product dim, allow me to use it like a dimension (product dimension going down a report, "color" mini-dimension going across...)
    2. Enable aggregation map technology to do calc-on-the-fly to solve totals for the demographic dimensions
    Having asked for all this, I'd like to find out if anything along these lines is in the works? I know there is functionality coming out (soon?) for "custom aggregates" - where you can take any random group of dimension values and have it calc on the fly and show up like a normal dimension value. That seems to me to be "very close" to some of the functionality needed (although it doesn't address it 100%...if I have 2 attributes on a dimension (say "color" and "size) - I'd like to put 1 as an across dim and 1 as a down dim....
    I know these are not probably "simple" or "quickly achievable" - but I really believe they would add a TON of value to the OLAP functionality.

    I leave the ER in. Though the article explains how to include tiles, it requires lots of manual configuration, which I think can be automated.
    Functionality wise tiles are similar to the planned region feature (though not 100 % identical)

  • Page Component View - Enhancement Request

    Minor enhancement request:
    Add a link directly to the Javascript section of the Page attributes, similar to HTML Header, Template etc.
    This would also have the benefit of being able to determine if functions were declared in this section w/out having to drill into the page.

    After testing the issue in my environment, I can reproduce it. After we change a column name which is used in a Power View chart, Power view will render the message that” The external data connection has been disabled for this Power View report. Please enable
    the connection.” when we reopen the file.
    To fix this issue, we can click Refresh button under POWER VIEW menu, then it would prompt us that” Power View was not able to complete the action due to a query failure. This can happen if the structure of your data has changed, in which case closing and
    re-opening the application will resolve the problem.”
    According to the error message, we should try to reopen the file to fix this issue. Power view will render the message that” Please refresh to see the data for this Power View Sheet. You can set properties in the Connection Properties dialog so that the
    data refreshes automatically when you open the file.” when we reopen the file. Then we can refresh it again, the report will be displayed without that field.
    Based on my research, inherently what the message means is that Power View cannot be used as a tool for snapshot reporting. With an Excel PivotTable, we can see the data last saved in the PivotTable. Power View, however, does not behave the same way – it
    won’t render the last saved state. If we want to avoid this message when we reopen the file, there are two methods:
    When we create the Power View report, we can select the checkbox that “Refresh data when opening the file”.
    After it’s been set up, go to Connections on the Data menu, then choose Properties.

  • Mail enhancement request

    I have submitted this before but there has been no response so ....
    I would like to have "last" and "next" (forward/back arrows) in the mailbox sidebar to allow me to pop back to the mailbox I was viewing before I took a detour to look for something in a specific folder.
    For those of us who have Mail windows open to more than one mail server, this would be a real convenience.
    I often find I have "returned" to the wrong account and now have 2 windows open to the same IMAP server ...

    Alternatively, if you want to report this to Apple, send a bug report (or enhancement request) via its Bug Reporter system. Join the Apple Developer Connection (ADC)—it's free and available for all Mac users and gets you a look at some development software. Since you already have an Apple username/ID, use that. Once a member, go to Apple BugReporter and file your bug report/enhancement request. You'll get a get a Bug (ER) ID number; thus, starting a dialog directly with engineering.

    Since aggregates are there on that cube....until and unless you do the roll up that request will not be available for Reporting...
