Enlarging Text in an Pane

Anyone know of a way to enlarge a text in a Pane by any factor I can specifiy?
..basically the idea of the application is to take an HTML file in and enlarge it by 2x, 3x,4x..etc.. to allow for displaying over multiple monitors.
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks! and have a great day!

Sure, you just change the size of the font. For example if you want to double the size of the letters:Font oldfont = thePane.getFont();
float size = oldfont.getSize2D();
Font newfont = oldfont.deriveFont(2*size);
thePane.setFont(newFont);

    Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4.
    You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the <b>about:config</b> page.
    browser.gesture.pinch.in -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReduce</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.in.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.out -> <b>cmd_fullZoomEnlarge</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.out.shift -> <b>cmd_fullZoomReset</b>
    browser.gesture.pinch.latched -> <b>false</b>
    To open the <i>about:config</i> page, type <b>about:config</b> in the location (address) bar and press the "<i>Enter</i>" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website.<br />
    If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page.<br />
    You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily.

  • How can I change a PDF document to have an enlarged text area and smaller margins?

    I've just been reading a long discussion initiated by a guy who wanted to recompose a PDF file to print in fewer pages. I'm not asking about that. I'm aware that Acrobat Pro 9 will not recompose the pages of a pdf for you; as someone said, it's not a word processing program. I want to copy a PDF to a new file with an enlarged text area and smaller margins, so I can read it more easily. My eyesight isn't so great.
    I'm trying to print a decision of the US Supreme Court, for my study. The problem is that these PDF files of such decisions are composed in 10-point type with generous margins, in folio-size pages smaller than 8 1/2 x 11". When you open PDF files of these decisions, you get extremely wide margins and relatively small type. Essentially, I'd like to re-rasterize the document so it prints on my 8 1/2 x 11" paper in a larger apparent type size, but in the same high resolution as the original. By the way, the decision I'm working on is almost 200 pages long, so I don't want to do this, obviously, in a page by page manner.
    I guess I could do this in Photoshop, by blowing pages up and cropping them. Photoshop does a good job of eliminating the jaggies when you do this. But it would seem better to re-rasterize the pages from the PDF source file. So would any reader be kind enough to explain this process to me? (I'm fairly savvy in Photoshop, Illustrator, and computer printer concepts, but a complete newb in Acrobat.)

    If you just want this for printing, one thing you can easily do is crop all of the pages to remove the margins. For example, you can rop 2" off the left and right sides, and 1.5" off the top and bottom. Then print using a Page Scaling of "Fit to Printable Area".
    To crop in Acrobat 9, select: Document > Crop Pages
    be sure to select All for the Page Range.

  • I enlarge text size and it goes back to small when I change page,how doI make it permanent?

    windows 7: when I enlarge text or font size to my preference it goes back to original when I change a page, I want to set it and forget it thanks.

    You can use one of these extensions to set a default font size and page zoom on web pages:
    *Default FullZoom Level: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/default-fullzoom-level/
    *NoSquint: https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/addon/nosquint/

  • Cannot enlarge text in sample book, is this normal?

    Downloaded sample of new George Harrison and found that I cannot enlarge text. Is this a normal issue with sample books? I'm new to using iBooks.

    The description for the George Harrison book says it was made with iBooks Author.  From what I've read, those books may or may not allow you to change the font size.
    In portrait mode, you get the Font Size menu, but not in landscape mode where it's more like a fixed layout textbook.
    Authors can disable the portrait mode to force the landscape mode and keep the layout in their control.  If they do that there is no font size option.

    If it might be quite tricky I guess I can always ask a retailer.

    Can you enlarge text in hotmail or gmail?

    You can make type bold, italics or underlined in the mail app but you cannot change fonts or the size of the font. Bullets, numbering or indents are not available as options.
    Tap and hold down on text in order to select it and then you can choose BIU from the options bar and in the next popup you can select Bold, Italics, Underline or any combination of the three formatting options.

  • Can you tell me how to enlarge text overall applications etc

    This is not very important - but it is annoying me - I would like to know how to enlarge the text overall in everything on my mac. I have managed (I think) to keep it enlarged on browsers, but other applications and documents are so tiny I need several pairs of glasses and switching between ctrl and scroll is not satisfying... On windows I was able to download an add on for help with text sizes and colours.. anything like this for mac?

    Default font sizes in applications are specific to the application. You can try reconfiguring the application to use a larger font size, but this may be non-trivial for some applications like MS Word.
    You can change the system display of some fonts via the Finder's View options. But the simplest solution is to use a lower resolution screen. You can change screen resolution via the Displays preference pane.
    You can zoom the screen via Universal Access preferences.

  • TIFF thumbnails do not enlarge in either preview pane or content pane?

    I have CS6 Bridge and Photoshop on a new 2014 iMac.
    The thumbnail size as viewed on screen is a limited size (around 2cm x 1cm).  Enlarging the preview pane just increases the space around the thumbnail rather than the thumbnail increasing to fill the pane.  Similarly, in the folder contents panel, if I use the slider bottom right in Bridge this only inreases the size of the space around the thumbnail.  It is almost as if I have the max cache set at something really small.  But, I don't, it's set at 1000MB.
    This phenomenon applies, oddly, only to tiff files.  If I use Bridge CS6 to view jpeg or raw files from multiple cameras (.dng,.cr2) it works perfectly.  So, only tiffs is the problem.
    Any similar problems, resolutions, greatly appreciated.  For the moment I have to use Bridge CS4 with PS CS6 as my workround.
    Thanks.

    All of a sudden my Bridge Content panel does not show any info on thumbnail
    photos, neither file number nor any metadata preferences.  Info is OK in the
    Metadata window, but not on Content pane
    Also, the file folder thumbnail icons in Content panel now have the file
    numbers super-imposed over the file instead of below.
    That is caused by accidently hit cmd+T and that command does hide the
    thumbnail info and put the name of the folder over the icon.
    Hit cmd + T again to solve this or go the menu view and deselect the Show
    thumbnail only command
    Coincidentally the font size of my Metadata panel suddenly got bigger and
    bolder, not the Keyword panel or any other, just Metadata.  Doesn't really
    bother me, but seems odd these have all just happened
    That I have not seen before but might be solved with resetting the prefs as
    Tai Lao described in his post.

  • How to enlarge text in reader mode in safari on iOS 7?

    Hi all,
    Just wondering if anybody could tell me how to enlarge the text when in reader mode on Safari in iOS 7? Before in iOS 6 this was very easy; you just needed to press an icon that had bigger text display while in reader mode itself. But now it seems with iOS 7 you cannot do this. Please somebody tell me that there is a way to do this?
    Thanks in advance!

    SapienSeven wrote:
    I am confusd by the question. Safari Reader is still there. Apple moved the button to the left side of the address/search bar and also changed it's appearance.
    It's just a series of 4 lines stylized to represent text. Once selected, the colors invert. I do not see any way to increase the text size further though,  ...and peerhaps that is your question.
    In iOS 6, while in reader mode you could enlarge or reduce the size of the text just by pressing some icons whilst in reader mode. You can no longer do this in iOS 7 as the feature has been removed. But thanks for your response.

  • Enlarging text in Mail

    Could anyone please tell me how enlarge the text by zooming the whole page in Mail, please? I find it a litle troublesome to increase the font size every time.
    Best regards,
    Pedro

    Depends on what you want to accomplish. In Mail's preferences click on Fonts and Colors icon in the toolbar. You can set default fonts and font sizes permanently.
    To simply zoom the screen hold the CTRL key down and use the mouse's scroll wheel to enlarge the entire display. Some control of this is available in the Universal Access preferences.

  • How Do You Enlarge Text In Acrobat X?

    All I want to do is go into a PDF file and enlarge the text, so that when I print it, the text is larger than what has been sent to me.
    Can someone with a generous heart, just please give me  step by step guidance?  Literally, a step by step guide as in, go here, then go there, then do this, then do that.
    Brought the software this year, 2011.  At a lost.
    Thank you so much,

    Steve is correct (as usual), however if you are desperate, here are a few work-arounds:
    1. Buy a PDF editor like Pitstop, expensive, but useful.
    2. Open and edit the PDF in Illustrator, dicy and lots of potential problems, depending on the flavor of your PDF.
    3. Make a copy of your PDF, Using Tools> Advanced editing> Touch up object tool> select and delete everything except the type you want to enlarge. Delete the type on your original, then place both PDFs in InDesign and enlarge the PDF with the type, Export to a new PDF.

  • Cyan Highlight Behind Text in Design Pane

    Hi, Could anyone tell me why some of my pages have a cyan colored highlight behind the text in the design pane. It does not happen to all of my sites and am wondering why this particular site that is doing this, is doing his.
    File is a .asp extension, but other asp pages for other sites do not do this. Have checked code rewriting in prefs and do not see an instance where cyan is supposed to be implemented behind text. It's not in the style either and live page looks fine.
    Considered putting this thread go in App Dev forum instead but seems a general DW useablity issue as opposed to a dev issue. Please let me know if I should resubmit there.
    Using DW CS4 on 64 Bit Vista. What other details can I provide??
    thanx,

    The cyan highlighting indicates untranslated live data on a page that contains server-side code. Normally, it is applied only to dynamic text like this:
    If it's being applied to ordinary text, it suggests there's something unusual about your server-side code that's causing Dreamweaver to highlight the text in this way. The preference that controls the colour of the highlighting is in the Highlighting category of the Preferences panel.
