Some gestures have been removed in Firefox 4.
You can restore the zoom feature by changing the values of the related prefs on the about:config page.
browser.gesture.pinch.in -> cmd_fullZoomReduce
browser.gesture.pinch.in.shift -> cmd_fullZoomReset
browser.gesture.pinch.out -> cmd_fullZoomEnlarge
browser.gesture.pinch.out.shift -> cmd_fullZoomReset
browser.gesture.pinch.latched -> false
To open the about:config page, type about:config in the location (address) bar and press the "Enter" key, just like you type the url of a website to open a website. 
If you see a warning then you can confirm that you want to access that page. 
You can use the Filter bar at to top of the about:config page to locate a pref more easily.

Please do the following.

Then go to Add/Remove Programs, scroll down to Mozilla Firefox and remove it, choosing to keep your bookmarks, customizations etc., (don't checkmark the box).
Then reboot and delete the folder called Mozilla Firefox at this location: C:\Program Files\Mozilla Firefox
Finally run the installation file you downloaded to the desktop earlier.
Your bookmarks, customizations etc., are maintained in a different location and will become available to you again once you complete the installation.

In 10.7 there is not a twain that works with Photoshop for importing with all the options needed to scan transparencies. I noticed that when I was scanning in October 2012 I was still using CS6 so somehow I was managing to be able to use all the scan features.
They sell 2nd party software (VieScan and Silverscript)which I found to be just mimially OK and very hard to use.
I just want to scan like I used to.
Can I use time machine to go back to an earlier operating sysytem LEOPARD, and then do my scans and then save the photos and them go back to the LION system?
I spent 7 hours trying crazy solutions - downloading Windows CS2 Photoshop and then using a program so I could run it on the apple. Then I couldn't figure out how to put a plug in for the scanner in the stupid windows Photoshop program. Googgling the computer like a mad woman trying to ask questions. I am not giving up...

Since updating to Firefox 4.0.1 I can no longer open and populate fields in eith Adobe Acrobat Pro or Adobe Readers wher I used to be able to.

In earlier version of Firefox I could open a PDF file from my Insurance provider with some of the fields automatically populated. Since upgrading to Firefox 4 I can no longer open PDF file from this site.
I have upgraded to Adobe Acrobat X and also Adobe Reader X in an effort to resolve this issue with no luck.
I have changed the settings under tools/options to use Adobe in Firefox as well as use Adobe as default with no difference.
I seem to recall a note of some sort when upgrading Firefox to 4.0 about compatibility with Adobe but cannot recall the details.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

They must be installed one at a time in sequence.

Updated to ITunes 4.2.1 and Can no longer sync Diabetes Pilot Application

Just updated my IPhone 4 to I Tunes 4.2.1 and now cannot sync the Diabetes Pilot I-Phone application with its corresponding desktop program.
Called Apple Service and they suggested re-setting the I-Phone. Reset the phone but still no luck.
Tried restoring the phone (twice) without success. Also, unable to "uninstall" 4.2.1 so that I can get this application working again. Any suggestions welcome.

Developers are given beta copies of upgrades months before they become available to users. It is their responsibility to make sure the application is compatible. Usually this is not a problem, as the OS is backward compatible for the most part. Sometimes developers introduce bugs when updating their apps for the new version, however.

10.9.2 Mavericks and can no longer connect to our SMB file share on the network.

Smb was working under 10.9.1. Now smb and usning the finder I get "connection failed". Both of my NAS are not out when i am using my mac book pro thru the wifi connection. Is any one else have the same problem?

Same story here - smb:// worked under 10.9.1, but the Update 10.9.2 broke it.
Some facts:
Mac Book Pro Retina 2012
Network connection is over WLAN (The connection is very stable and no issues else where)
The issue seems to be caused when there are larger files (> 500MB) in the share
smb:// works for shares with lots of folders but only small files in them
smb:// and cifs:// are both almost unusable
smb:// shows a blank screen for ages- Finder will eventually hang up
cifs:// will connect fast (wow!), but the connection is very unstable for larger files
The funny part is, that Mavericks (pre 10.9.2) was the first OS X which fixed most SMB issues of its predecessor. (SMB2 was somwhat slow, but quite usable) Now, I can not really use my Mac to work...
Moral of the story, I think I will switch to Ubuntu 14 when it is released in April - it should support HDPI Displays.
