"Enrich" SAP MM catalog items imported via interface

Hi,
We're using the 1 catalog on SAP MM solution and would like to enrich/map imported data. In SRM there is te catalog transfer badi however on MM side I'm unable to find any badi that can help me achieve this. In PM area however there is the 'customizing table solution for enriching the data'.
Example usage: If vendor delivers UOM 'PCE' via OCI then change this UOM in to 'EA'. What could suffice is the following:
1. An OCI badi in which we can enrich the imported data in SAP MM.
2. A doc change badi or some sort in which we can ammend the imported data on purchase requestion level in SAP MM
Anybody knows if such can be achieved?
Note: I'm requesting the SAP Materials Management (MM) solution to achieve this!
Kind regards,
Tim

Hi Gabor,
I've seen that badi and noticed that it's for SAP internal use only however we might be able to use it but this will be unsuported and we need to monitor this badi when implementing SP's etc. This isn't ideal however have you had any experience using the ME_CATALOG_INTERFACE badi, does it suffice and do you think it's a big burden that we have to change/use a standard SAP badi?
I know that allthough this badi is marked for internal SAP use only we can use it. If you have had any experience using this badi I'm really curious in what way you've been using it and what goals you have achieved via this.
Kind regards,
Tim

  • Item Import Open Interface

After running Import Items Open Interface the concurrent program gets completed normal. But the item does not come into display in front end.It is not in the back end tables also.

This is something unusual thats happening, Run Import items and set the value of parameter Delete Processed Rows to No and process Items to No. This will only validate the records and the records will not be inserted in base table and will be sittin in the interface tables.
Take a note of request Id and see if there are any records in mtl_interface_errors table for that request ID.

  • Item import interface

    Dear All,
I need Item Import open interface code, can any body help me?
    Regards,

It is very specific to your needs. Basic code can be taken from Metalink Note: 115557.1. You can modify that based on your needs. Also you can read up charpter 14 of the supply chain management APIs and interface guide for clear instructions.

  • How to use XML Gateway for Order Import and Item Import?

    Hello XML gurus,
I'm working in Oracle Apps area and do not have much knowledge on XML or web programming. Currently in my project there is a need to use Order Import and Item Import using interface tables and XML Gateway. The items/orders information will be in the XML format from Siebel system, there will be no custom processing...just process the data as-is.
I've read the XML Gateway user guide but did not understand much.
    Anyone with similar implementation experience?
I'm looking for a step-by-step guide on what needs to be done in Oracle Apps side to populate the interface tables from XML file and call the import APIs?
Your inputs, suggestions, tips are highly appreciated. :)
    Thx,
    Jags

I have a similar requirement to automate the order import and was looking at XML Gateway. Please update if you were able to find more information.

  • Import Substitute and Related Item relationship via Import Manager

Hi! I have been able to import parent/child relationship (captured in an Excel spreadsheet) via the Import Manager. I have tested with BOM and Sales Packages and it worked fine.
However, I now also want to be able to import relationship such as substitutes and related items and found out that this feature is not available in Import Manager. I cannot do this via matching in Data Manager as there is a similarity in the part number used. However, I guess it may be possible if I introduce a new field to somehow link them together.
Has anyone tried to do a mass load of relationships like these before? If so, would appreciate if you can share your experience in this.
    Cheers!

Have to import via Data Manager using a text file. It is important to note that there should be no blanks after the last header field and data line.

  • "Import Catalog Items" program instead of "Import Items"

We have a requirement to migrate items to Oracle Apps (R12) and also to migrate UDA's along with it. Currently we are using 'Import Item' (incoin) program for this , but now we got a comment like, it is better to use 'Import Catalog Items' instead of incoin. Please give us some inputs on this.
    Thanks,

Your question has nothing to do with the topic of this forum "SQL and PL/SQL."

  • Item Import - completes with " Completed Error" status and process_flag=4

I am trying to Import Item through Open Interface.
    RDBMS : 9.2.0.5.0
    Oracle Applications : 11.5.10
    Populated data into mtl_system_items_interface with process_flag = 1.
Once I run the "Item Import" program it completes with error, with the following in the log file.
The records are updated with process_flag = 4. but there are no error details in mtl_interface_errors for those corresponding records in the interface table.
How do I identify the error ?

  • Catalog items visible to everyone, purchaseable only for some users

    Hello everybody
Me again trying to find a solution to the following problem:
We need to have some items in our catalog that are visible for every user but only purchaseable via shopping cart / SRM for some authorized users. I couldn't find any possibility in the customizing. So my attempt would be to add an additional attribute in CCM where I can put some kind of flag and then to construct an authorization check based on that flag and on a authorization profile. In case the authorization check fails, the catalog item may not be put in the shopping cart. Preferabily the shopping cart icon should be disabled for such items.
Did somebody out there already think about something similar or already implemented something like that?
It would also be a good basis for offering a publicly viewable, browseable catalog for "window shopping", because I also didn't find a way until now to publish the catalog as a standalone web application without shopping cart functionality.
What do you out there think about it?
    Kind regards,
    Renaud

    Hi Christophe
Thanks a bunch for your great help! I could solved the problem and am now able to have some catalog items visible but only purchaseable for authorized users. This is what I've done:
    1. Create a new authorization class (SU21)
    2. Create a new authorization object within this class
    3. Create a new authorization field within this object
Don't forget to save and quit the SU21 transaction and then reenter it (/nsu21) because only then you'll see your changes / additions... seems to be a "refresh-bug" in SU21.
    4. Create a new role (PFCG) and an authorization profile containing the new authorization object. Assign the values needed.
    5. Create a new attribute in CCM and assigned it to OCI cust_field5 (because this one is of type TEXT50)
    6. Implemented some code in BAdI BBP_CATALOG_TRANSFER:
    DATA: wa_et_sc_item_data  TYPE BBP_PDS_SC_ITEM_D.
    DATA: wa_catalog_content  TYPE BBP_WS_OCI_ITEM_S.
    DATA: lv_authorized       TYPE c.
DATA: lt_limtab           TYPE TABLE OF string.
    DATA: wa_limtab(10)       TYPE C.
    DATA: lv_message_v1       LIKE SY-MSGV1.
    DATA: lv_message_v2       LIKE SY-MSGV2.
    DATA: lv_message_v3       LIKE SY-MSGV3.
    DATA: lv_message_v4       LIKE SY-MSGV4.
    LOOP AT et_sc_item_data INTO wa_et_sc_item_data.
    * Get corresponding line from transferred catalog data
      READ TABLE catalog_content INTO wa_catalog_content
                                 WITH KEY line = wa_et_sc_item_data-number_int
                                 BINARY SEARCH.
      IF sy-subrc = 0.
    *   If field content for checking authority against is not empty...
        IF NOT wa_catalog_content-cust_field5 IS INITIAL.
    *     Perform authority check
          AUTHORITY-CHECK OBJECT '<your auth.object here>'
                          ID     '<your auth.field here>'
                          FIELD  wa_tab.
          IF sy-subrc <> 0.
            MOVE wa_catalog_content-cust_field5  TO lv_message_v1.
            MOVE wa_et_sc_item_data-ordered_prod TO lv_message_v2.
    *       Eliminate leading zeroes from product number
            WHILE lv_message_v2+0(1) = '0'.
              SHIFT lv_message_v2.
            ENDWHILE.
    *       Output message
            MESSAGE ID     'ZXXX'
                    TYPE   'W'
                    NUMBER '000'
                    WITH   lv_message_v1
                           lv_message_v2.
    *       Remove item from SC
            DELETE et_sc_item_data.
          ENDIF.
        ENDIF.
      ENDIF.
    ENDLOOP.
Interesting observation is, that when issueing the message with type = 'I' it does not condense the message text. With type = 'W' it does...
I also found out the reason, why the way via ET_SC_MESSAGES will not work: SAP <b>has hard coded</b> somewhere after the BAdI call the message id and message number... so no way to bypass this without a modification.
    Kind regards,
    Renaud

  • Active Items Master via DTW?

    Dear Experts,
Anyone know which field should I use to do the Active / Inactive item master data via DTW?
I'm trying Valid(ValidFor) in OITM table and say "Y" or "N" and import via DTW.
It imported succesfully but dit not update in the front end on SAP B1
    Thank you.

    Hi Mickey......
Instead of 'Y' and 'N' use 'tYES' and 'tNO' for ValidFrom and To
and for Inactive use tYES and tNO for Frozen

  • Asset depreciation posting via interface

    Hello,
My client would like to use WBS elements as investment measures to bring capital projects through WIP and capitalize to FXA's.  However, they want to maintain an external asset accounting system as the system of record for depreciation, write ups, write downs, etc.  Our system will receive these postings via interface.
They would also like to record depreciation of a single FXA to various WBS elements based upon a crosswalk from the asset accounting system.  I am trying to find a way to make multiple JV's to post this,
Dr Depreciation expense, key 40 - WBS
CR Accumulated Depreciation, key 75 - FXA.
Thus, FI-AA's manual depreciation and unplanned depreciation transactions will not meet this requirement as far as I can tell.
I have been trying to make ABF1 or FB01 work.  ABF1 will allow for this posting, however, I am not able to select the individual asset on the credit line.  Is this a screen layout configurable item?  FB01 will not allow a depreciation transaction type to be used in the transaction at all.
    Can anyone help with this?
    Thanks,
    John

To be frank, any solution that is built around something like ABF1 should be reconsidered.  I'm all for delivering creative solutions when required to but wouldn't propose something like that to a customer...  at least not without a "you'll get no support from SAP on something like this".  Since the external system will track all of the asset's depreciation calculations and value adjustments, why not just post a simple FI document using a BADI?  Why muck it up with ABF1?  It would seem that if they accept the fact that they are leaving SAP then they are leaving behind some integration benefits as well.  Trying to regain those benefits by posting to a recon account and (hopefully) maintaining a reconciled set of books between the GL and FIAA isn't logical to me.
Posting costs to a series of CO objects is the job of CO.  You might be able to come up with a solution using FI-AA but I would expect more problems related to document creation as you have already found.  Just post it to a high level WBS/IO and then allocate using whatever logic they require.  At least you'll have the tools to do so within CO.

  • Enter rate / EUR rate type M - Replace item with MDM 3.0 catalog item

    Hello,
Up on importing a requested item with an MDM 3.0 catalog item via the 'replace with calog item' functionality we're getting the following error:
Enter rate / EUR rate type M for dd.mm.yyyy in system settings
The from and to currency are both EUR. I first of all don't get it why anything related to exchange rates is happening here.
Edit: I've investigated the problem a little more and it seems like the MDM currency mapping is not correctly set-up. The currency value maintained in MDM seems not to be taken into account when importing to SRM.
Anybody knows how to (pre-)view the OCI mappings from MDM > SRM?
    Kind regards,
    Tim

    Hi Masa,
I knew and had already checked that place. But what I actually ment is how can i see the MDM filling for f.e. NEW_ITEM-CURRENCY. I would like to know whether MDM is actually providing the NEW_ITEM-CURRENCY.
The field NEW_ITEM-CURRENCY for our repository is mapped with Price Information-Currency. This should suffice but it isn't.
I've tested the following: defaulting my users Local Currency to USD instead of EUR in the PPOMA_BBP attribute -> add MDM catalogi item in SC -> Currency is USD. While MDM currency is EUR. It's not mapped/read..
The field Price Information-Currency in MDM Data Manager contains as far as i can see value: EUR.
    Thanks for your help.

Not sure why you posted this in the OCI forum - an EBS forum (http://forums.oracle.com/forums/category.jspa?categoryID=3) is more appropriate.
