Eos utility 2 not installing

I, I have a brand new 70D and i'm not able to install eos utility 2 on my computer. I already have eos utility 1. I tried with the cd and with the installation package on the canon site.
At the step 4 of the installation, it say NG (in red) Eos Uility 2, an error occurred.

Good luck. EOS Utility 2.6 Remote Live View failed to work with Leopard (10.5.6) for over 6 months before Canon and Apple finally managed to fix the problem. Apple pointed at Canon - Canon pointed at Apple.
Apple definitely made the change that broke the software (Image Capture Extension) as it also broke Nikon software and some other digital camera software.
Now that it is finally fixed, I can't upgrade to Snow Leopard because I know it will break EOS 2.6.1 Remote Live View. Yay.

Canon Digital Photo Professional and EOS Utility not responding

Have been using both Canon DPP and EOS Utility since Dec 09 successfully. Installed Snow Leopard in Jan 2010, still worked fine. Installed Aperture 3 in August and now the Canon software keeps shutting down on me. I contacted Canon and they said it is Apples fault (since 10.6.4) andthat it is because I am running Snow Leopard.
How can this be when it worked for 4 months fine?
Is this an issue with Aperture not wnating any ohter editing software?
I have a Canon EOS 50D camera and was exporting through the Digital Photo Professional software.

EOS Utility - not launching?

I found out what was causing the problem on my computer. It was AVG Antivirus. EOS Utility stopped working on another computer and no I thought that was very peculiar. I started looking harder at my configurations and starting turning things off. Sure enough it was AVG antivirus. As soon as I disabled it the EOS utility started working. They must have had a recent update that cause the problems because it was working before. No errors in AVG so I am going to have some choice words with them. It is unacceptable to disable a program and not display any notification that you are doing it. I have spent a considerable amount of time troubleshooting this.

EOS Utility not working with Windows 10

Hi all, I just upgraded to Windows 10, and immediatly ran into the problem that is described in this thread about Windows 8: http://community.usa.canon.com/t5/Software/Eos-Utility-problem/td-p/1189 After reading that thread I decided to unplug the other USB devices I had in the computer at the time (Garmin Watch, USB key, smart phone) and turn off the camera. I then turned on the camera and ran the EOS utility and it found my camera and worked correctly. Clearly this problem is still not resolved, but that simple work-around gets me downloading my pictures again. There are a lot of other things people tried in the above thread, but I just unplugged the USB devices and was good to go.

Well......your option works... but i found another solution, bit of searching but it works.Through the startup folder of windows the eos utility will auto start when starting windows.but if you edit the shortcut in the startup folder to start "eos utility 2" (leave the rest of the shortcut in place) it will bring up the utility apparently in a different mode (or another version of it ) that will recognize the camera as soon as you conect it (and switch it on ) have not yey found out how to start it in the system tray but will keep looking

Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 Plug-in Utility Not Installing on Eclipse

I am trying to install Flash Builder 4.7 Plugin into Eclipse. I have downloaded Flash Builder Premium via Adobe's Creative Cloud. I have also installed Eclipse Indigo. I am running this all on Mac OSX.
According to a tutorial I found I needed to go into the Utilities folder found in the Flash Builder install and run the Adobe Flash Builder 4.7 Plug-in Utility. It seemed to run fine. Afterwards you should be able to see "Flash Builder" in the help menu of Eclipse. However it is not there. You should also be able to set Flash Builder preferences under Window --> Preferences. Flash Builder is also not visible there.
According the the tutorial there should also be this file "fb-4_7-plugin-encoded.link" created in the "dropins" folder of Eclipse. This file is created. However it is blank.
I looked into the installation log and there was only one concerning message.
Move File: Destination: /Applications/eclipse/dropins/fb-4_7-plugin-encoded.link
Status: WARNING
Additional Notes: WARNING - There was a problem moving /Applications/eclipse/dropins/fb-4_7-plugin-encoded.link
I am unsure what this means the documentation seems to be pretty sparse. However, it seems to be the only problem in the entire installation process. Any ideas or suggestions on what could be causing this error would be great.

Qosmio G30-102: Why is Picture Enhancement Utility not installed?

Hi-
I have recently purchased a Qosmio G30-102 with nVIDIA GeForce Go 7600. In chapter 6 of the user manual it refers to the Picture Enhancement Utility as part of the QosmioEngine facility. This does not seem to have come pre-installed on the notebook. How do I obtain this program and why is it not already on there?

Are you 100% sure that this application is missing on you notebook???
I ask it because usually the TOSHIBA Picture Enhancement Utility V3.8.0.0 should be installed
The QosmioEngine is active when using the Qosmio Player TV or the Qosmio Player DVD. Furthermore the Toshiba picture Enhancement Utility is available on the nVidia Go7300 models.
If you have nVidia Go7300 graphic card you could check the Windows, Applications tabs in the nVidia desktop Manger

Can't get LR5 tethered capture to work for 70D - EOS utility won't install

I am attempting to setup tethered capture on a macbook pro with Mavericks, Lightroom 5 and a Canon 70D.
Lightroom 5 tethered capture alternates between "no camera detected" to "Canon EOS 70D" a few times and then posts the following error:
"Tethered Capture is not able to connect with the camera Canon EOS 70D (error code Canon EOS 70D). Please try restarting Tethered Capture or relaunching Adobe Photoshop Lightroom."
After browing for a solution, some have suggested that need to install the latest EOS utility software.
The EOS utility CD (ver. 28.2) that came with the camera will not install. I can browse the CD, see the files, etc. but when riunning the installation the installer appears on the dock for a split second, disappears and no error is given.
I downloaded the latest software from the Canon website, but it is upgrade only software.
I found an old EOS utility CD and it installed fine on the laptop.
I then attempted to upgrade the software by using the new CD as well as the upgrade file from the Canon website.
No matter what method I use, I still get the same results. I click on the installer, it appears on the dock for a second, disappears and nothing is installed.
If anybody has any advice, I would greatly appreciate it. Do I need the EOS utility software installed to perform tethered capture in LR5 with a 70D? If so, why won't it install?

The answer to this question is, no. However I am not a Mac user but many of my Mac friends complain of problems with Mavericks and LR and possibly EOS Utility. Canon has full d/l availibe for you instead of just the upgrade. They are also on the site. (at least for Win machines)
You may need to find a Mac site to help you with this. Sorry I am of little help.

Eos Utility problem

Hi to all,I have a problem with the Eos Utility Software.I have the OS Windows 8, and I installed the last version of EOS Uility 2.12 compatibility with the new OS.When I connect my EOS 5D MKIII or the 7D the EOS Utility not recognized the camera.The drivers are installed , all the others programs works fine with the cameras.Someone have a suggestion ?

I've had no success with two Win8 systems. The drivers appear to be installed correctly, the camera shows up in the device manager under "portable devices" and via Windows explorer I can transfer files as if it was a flash drive. Is this where it should appear in the device manager tree? I have uninstalled / reinstalled all Canon applications and still EOS utility does not recognize the camera. I'm a software developer, have written drivers etc for Windows, but I have no way to know why EOSuitility cannot see the driver. As I mentioned above, the original developers in your company need to investigate since they do have the tools to figure out what's going on. if you're successful in getting any of these people going, I do hope you'll post the method here. EOS Utility does not recognize 7D on Mac OS x 10.5.8

I am borrowing a 7D from a friend for a photo shoot. I want to teether the camera to the computer in order to control the camera without touching it. I installed EOS Utility and updated it to its newest version. The problem arise when I connect the camera to the computer. I get the message: "Camera is not recognized." I tried both USB ports and three different USB cables and nothing seems to work. Has anyone dealt with this issue. Thanks!

EOS Utility Installer WILL NOT LAUNCH

I'm running OS X 10.10 and trying to install Canon EOS Utility 3.0.1b on my mac and every single time I click the installer in begins to extract, then blips in the dock for a split second....then nothing. I have no idea what the heck is happening. I've gone into my settings and made sure I can install applications from anywhere but it still refuses to launch the installer. I'm not even getting a crash report; it just opens and closes in the blink of an eye, and my SSD isn't THAT fast...

Did you get to the bottom of this? I am having the same issue. Console comes up with this when I try and click on the installer:

EOS Utility will not work after update - 70D and Windows 8.1

I hope someone can help. I updated my EOS Utility on July 20, 2015, and switched to EOS Utility 2, incl. the updater (an add-on installation on the Canon site). After that, nothing happens when I connect the camera and try to open EOS Utility. I can hear (jingle) that the computer still recognizes the camera. Around that day, my computer also installed a Windows update. I have unistalled EOS and reinstalled it, both with and without the updater. Still nothing happens. Has anyone else had the same issue? On another forum, disabling wifi seemed to work, but I checked that wifi is already disabled (even by enabling and re-disabling it). Any ideas are gratefully accepted. Thank you.

You would be much better off to add an exception for the software you're getting a flase positive on, than to disable AVG. You can do this within AVG by looking for "Exceptions" under the "Advanced Settings" dialog (found in the Options menu). This is not uncommon and it just means there's some byte pattern in your file that is similar to a known virus. If you disable AVG you're opening yourself up to attacks while it's off. By adding an exception AVG will just ignore that file, and since you know it's OK, that's safe.
