  • How to detect the OS version and the hardware info??

    Hi all, according to the project needs, I to know how to detect OS version and the hardware info.
    The point is to detect client's OS version, weather Win98, 2000, XP, Vista.
    I have been search the information for several days already.
    But can not really found a example which returns the OS version like"Windows XP Version 2002 *****".
    And also could not find the CPU type such as"Core 2 due, or  pentium D".
    Is there anyone have done this before?
    Thanks.
    The Info I need looks like the photo below.

    Well, in fact I have the VI and also read the topics as well...... The searching tag is OS info , system info......... After reading your post, now I understand the relation between the version number and the real OS version now, tks.  And another problem is, the processor type returned within the VI have only 4 type:"INTEL 386, INTEL 486, PENTIUM, Unknown".
    It can not really return my CPU TYPE. For example the desktop I’m using now is a Pentium, D , 2.80G, 2.80G.. and it only returns type "Pentium". That's why I'm asking is there any other way to do this...... (( Please forgive me if you can not really know what I'm talking about in my first post, now I know how bad my english is.......   ))  I guess I can only try to find out the solution from the registry then... Thanks for your information and reply.

  • I have a Mac with Elements 9 and 10 the plugins all work fine. I was told that when I install full version of 12 it will find prior versions and collect the info. Well it didn't and none of my plugins in the filters menu show. I did select the same direct

    I need all my filters that are working in version 10 Mac to show in version 12 Mac. I have selected the same folder I had selected in 10 but only a few plugins show. I need all plugins to show. The install should have found the older versions of Elements 9 and 10 and setup properly, but the installer didn't do it.

    Also, no plugins transfer automatically from one version to the next. You must reinstall them, ditto for any third-party additions like actions, layer styles, etc.
    The only thing that a new version of PSE should find automatically would be your organizer catalog and photos.

  • I am running 4.0 version, and each time I open Firefox, I get a software update that says "Downloading Firefox / connecting to the update server", but it just STICKS there??? Why is this happening?

    I am running Firefox 4.0 version, but for some reason, it tries to download updates and then gets stuck on trying to connect to the update server. This has been happening the past few days. When I close the update, I can proceed in Firefox without incident (that I know of).

    See:
    * http://kb.mozillazine.org/Software_Update (Software Update not working properly)
    Remove the files in the updates and updates\0 folder.<br />
    You may need to delete active-update.xml and updates.xml as well if present.
    C:\Documents and Settings\&lt;user&gt;\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox\updates
    (%USERPROFILE%\Local Settings\Application Data\Mozilla\Firefox\Mozilla Firefox)
    If you have problems with updating then easiest is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and remove the Firefox program folder to do a clean install of the new version.
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 4.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Do not remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the [http://kb.mozillazine.org/Profile_folder_-_Firefox Firefox Profile Folder] and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • When I go to the crash report page the signature is null for ALL the crash reports. Is there any solution other than uninstall this version and try to install an eariler version? I don't have many add-ons and they never caused a problem before.

    Every since I updated to version 4 my browser has been constantly crashing, especially when I have a few tabs open. I need to give up on this version. My computer is windows XP sp3. Can I uninstall version 4 and install an earlier version and still get my add-ons? I don't have many, but xmarks and firebug are important to me.
    Now this form is malfunctioning.

    Try to uninstall the current Java version and maybe delete the Java installation folder (C:\Java) if that didn't work.
    You can also use the JavaRa Uninstaller.

    From which folder did you delete the extensions.* files?

  • I've tried for many months to install the new 4.0 and it goes through download but never changes to newest version, and now it says that 3.6 will only be available for a short time longer.

    Every time I log on, Firefox states that I am using the older version, and that I need to update to the 4.0, though today I saw something that said 7.0 so wasn't sure what that was about. Anyway, my program states upon the install, "Save Program". So I do and then it still doesn't take effect. Now your site states that the 3.6 will soon be no longer available for updates etc, but you new version never loads or takes effect??? Help please. I love firefox and feel much safer using this than anything in the past! Thanks in advance. I am old, but a novice at computers. So, laymen terms appreciated. Yours truly, Norine Mungo

    If there are problems with updating then best is to download the full version and uninstall the currently installed version and delete the Firefox program folder to remove any leftover files.
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 7.0.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version.
    * Do not remove personal data when you uninstall the current version or you lose your bookmarks and other data in the profile folder.
    * Remove the Firefox program folder before installing that newly downloaded copy of the Firefox installer.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere in the Firefox Profile Folder and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

  • Updated to 4.0 version and when it loaded I got 4 identical icons on my desktop. I went back in time on my computer and now Firefox won't open.

    Updated to 4.0 version and when it finished loading I got 4 identical Firefox icons on my desktop. I went back in time on my computer to go back to an order version and Firefox won't open or is very slow to open.

    Do a clean (re-)install:
    * Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.
    * Firefox 4.0: http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html
    * Firefox 3.6.x: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/all-older.html
    * Uninstall your current Firefox version and remove the Firefox program folder before installing that copy of the Firefox installer.
    * Don't remove personal data if you uninstall the current version.
    * It is important to delete the Firefox program folder to remove all the files and make sure that there are no problems with files that were leftover after uninstalling.
    * It may not be necessary to create a new profile, so first try if it works with your current profile and if not then create a new profile.
    Your bookmarks and other profile data are stored elsewhere (not in the Firefox program folder) and won't be affected by a reinstall, but make sure that you do not select to remove personal data if you uninstall Firefox.

    I updated to newest version. It keeps telling me to reboot, so I have. It will not open, and I cannot even uninstall it.

    Do a clean reinstall and download a fresh Firefox copy from http://www.mozilla.com/firefox/all.html and save the file to the desktop.

    You can skip the step to create a new profile, that is not necessary for this issue.

  • I cannot open Firefox as I get the message that Firefox failed to read configuration file. I uninstalled and reinstalled latest version and still cannot open with the same error.

    Last week when the automated upgrade came I said yes and then stopped it midway as it was not a good time to reboot my laptop. Since then, when I try to open it says cannot read configuration file - even when I uninstall and reinstall - still cannot open it with the same error.

    * Download a fresh Firefox copy and save the file to the desktop.

  • If i install a new version of itunes, will it erase my current version and data?

    I am trying to set up my new iphone 5.  i always get msgs from icloud that i have too much data so i have to purchase more space, so i have to restore from itunes backup.  i just backed up my iphone 4 to itunes, and itunes says it's updated - there are no other updates - however it says it's itunes 10.6.3 is the current version.  my new phone is telling me that i need to use itunes 10.7 or later and that I have to download it from itunes.com.
    I just downloaded it but i am afraid to install it for fear that it will erase my data from my iphone 4.
    help!!

    You don't say which operating system version you are running, nor which very specific computer model you have, both of which are needed to come up with a solution.  Get more information about your computer. Go to the Apple in the upper left corner of any window, then  "About This Mac".  Write down what it says about "version"and report that here.  Now continue to "More Info..."  Copy and paste the information here, but omit the serial number and Hardware UUID (if present).
    For an iPhone5 you will need iTunes 10.7.  That requires you be running OSX 10.6.8 or greater.  Old Macs cannot run OSX 10.6.8.  Something reporting you are up to date while running iTunes 10.6.3 might be one of those Macs and you may have to buy a new computer to use your iPhone5.  Once we know the information I requested we can tell for sure.
    Installing a new iTunes should not affect the current content.  That said, there are monthly reports here from some unlucky person who claims running an update erased their content.  You should always (even when not doing updates) back up your computer.  Some day your hard drive will unexpectedly die and all your computer content will be lost.  Definitely back up before doing updates and you don't have to worry.

  • Get the current version and level of sp.listitem

    I'm using a client script to get sp.listitem from a context.
    Everything works and load my item
    myCtxtWeb.Load(item);
    myCtxtWeb.ExecuteQuery();item.Versions;//doesn't existitem.Level;//doesn't exist
    Now i need to know the current version and the previous to compare the modified date between them.
    Unfortunately the property doesn't exist and same with property level for having the info if it's approved
    Are there a way to have them?

    For information, i found the solution
    SP.File newsItemFile = targetItem.File;
    SP.FileVersionCollection fileVersions = newsItemFile.Versions;
    myCtxtWeb.Load(fileVersions);
    myCtxtWeb.ExecuteQuery();
    if (fileVersions.Count > 0)
    SP.FileVersion currentVer = fileVersions[fileVersions.Count - 1];//get current version
    if (currentVer.VersionLabel == "1.0")
    return "add";
    Hope it helps some people

  • Current Patches and Staging?

    Current System:
    Oracle Database 10g Enterprise Edition Release 10.1.0.4.0 - Prod
    PL/SQL Release 10.1.0.4.0 - Production
    CORE 10.1.0.4.0 Production
    TNS for 32-bit Windows: Version 10.1.0.4.0 - Production
    NLSRTL Version 10.1.0.4.0 - Production
    We've not installed a patch since the database was installed last year in July. What is the current patch that is available. Also, I see that Enterprise manager DataGrid Stages the patch to the specific machine but it does not install it unless you select this using the check box. If the patch is staged, do you need install the patch by logging into the specified box?
    thanks.

    Shouldn't the patches be available through EM GridControl? We are planning some downtime this afternoon and I'd like to get the database up to the most recent release.
    EM GC shows
    5059192 Patch RDBMS Server Microsoft Windows (32-bit) 10.1.0.4 ORACLE 10G 10.1.0.4 PATCH 12 ON WINDOWS 32 BIT as the latest patch out there and
    4505133 Patchset Oracle Database Microsoft Windows (32-bit) 10.1.0.5 10.1.0.5 PATCH SET FOR ORACLE DATABASE SERVER (this requires 10.1.0.5)
    If I do upgrade to 10.1.0.5 and my database has a physical standby will it affect it in anyway. Can I run 10.1.0.5 primary and 10.1.0.4 physical stndby?

    Your system is missing a couple DLLs that LR needs, but the fix at Adobe is to copy them to the LR folder which gets replaced for each install, so you have to redo it after each LR install.  It would be worth documenting the process and saving the DLLs so you don’t have to ask about it each time:
    http://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom/kb/error-unable-start-correctly-0xc00007b.html
    You might also use the AIO210 program to add them as detailed in this YouTube video—maybe this is a more permanent fix, but since the files are from media-fire be very careful about what you do so as not to install a virus on your computer.
    I’d scan the downloaded ZIP you download with whatever virus and internet security software you have and don’t be fooled by extraneous popups you might see during the download process.  I was able to download the aio210.zip after authorizing one Captcha window and closed at least one bogus popup trying to get me to install other software.  I also scanned the downloaded zip with two virus scanners and both said it was clean.  Here is the YouTube video, where the link to the ZIP to download is in the description once you expand it:

    You need iTunes 10.0 or greater to update your phone...iTunes isn't confused at all. If you're on a Mac, you'll need OS X 10.5.8 or greater to update iTunes to 10.0 or greater.
