EPM Formatting Sheet - Conditional Formatting

Hello Experts,
I have a Formatting Question.  We have a simple Actual vs Budget Report, with a Variance % Local Member.  To apply the % Format to the local member, I used the USE - Number Format on the formatting sheet, which will allow Row formats like Underlines/Bold to carry through it.  It works fine.  I also want the cell to be Condintionally Formatted.  What is the USE case to complete this?  I tried Style, Pattern and a few others, no luck so far.  Is this possible to do?
Thanks,
Sean

Hello Christophe,
Thank you for the response. The "All" Selection does work, however the issue is when I have formatting on the Rows and they intersect with my % column. Example is like  a subtotal which may have an Underline and Bold format, that I also want to apply to the Cell.  When I use "NumberFormat" it keeps the % format, with the borders/font type of the Row.  I was hoping, there was a selection, like "Number Format" that would active the conditional formatting, which in my case is just a Fill of Red or green.  Hope this makes sense.
Thanks,
Sean

  • EPM Formatting Sheet Issue - Right click on the cell and lock the cell

    Dear Experts,
    I have come across an issue. Earlier I worked on BPC NW 10 integrated with Ms Excel 2007. I applied a feature of locking the cell linked with specific member in Input Template and Report by going to EPM Formatting Sheet, selecting dimension member (Which I want to lock in Input Sheet and Report), right clicking on the cell under Data Column and selecting the option "Lock the Cell". As I protect my Input sheet and Report, and do refresh, the cell linked with specific dimension member get locked. Hope everyone has used this feature.
    Now I have Ms Excel 2013 installed in system. I am not able to find this feature. if anyone has tried this feature in BPC NW 10 with Ms Excel 2013. Please help me out. As this was good feature by BPC.
    Regards,
    David

    Hi Andy,
    I am using Excel 2013, When I checked, I did not find "Lock Option". When I was using Excel 2007, then I had this locking option. below are the details that you asked for...
    When I right click on cell in EPM formatting sheet, I get options as shown below in screen shot, but there is no "Lock Option"

  • Report does not recognize formatting on inputable member in EPM Formatting-Sheet

    Dear Gurus,
    When using an EPM Formating Sheet in the EPM-AddIn for Excel the formatting for "Inputable Members" is not applied to the Report. The formatting for Local Members, Blank Members, Hierarchies etc. is recognized however. I applied the formatting sheet to the report and enabled the "use as input schedule" checkbox in the sheet options. The checkbox for Member/Property Formatting and "inputable Member default Format" is enabled as well.
    The EPM-AddIn documentation does not state any specifics when using the "inputable Member" formatting.
    I know that i could simply copy the formatting sheet and use "base level Formatting" but i would like to create a single formatting sheet for reports and input schedules in our company as a template.
    We use SAP BPC 10.0 and EPM Add-In SP19 (Build 8909) on .Net Framework 3.5
    Do you have any suggestions how to fix this issue?
    Kind Regards
    Eric

    HI Eric,
    The EPM-AddIn documentation does not state any specifics when using the "inputable Member" formatting.
    It is used normally when you want specific formatting for your base level member. In BPC you can input date (Save) data only on  the base level member not on parent level members data get aggregates on the parent level member. So "inputable Member"  formatting will apply only on the base level members.
    The formatting for Local Members, Blank Members, Hierarchies etc. is recognized however.
    If   you are using hierarchies level formatting and inputable Member there are might chances of conflicting formatting,
    Better to use either of them and also check check which formatting you are using Row or Column.

  • Advanced EPM Formatting for BPC v10

    I have a report that utilizes an EPM Formatting Sheet and am having a formatting issue.
    The account dimension is in the row axis (column A) and time in the column axis.  I have also pulled in an account property (that is nothing more than a text descriptor) in Column B.
    Each row is being formatted using an account dimension property (Format1, Format2, Format3, etc). So the row axis has the priority in terms of formatting vs the column axis.
    For the row formatting I have the "Data" format to be aligned right to left (since these are the amounts) and the "Header" aligned left to right since these are the account ID numbers/descriptions.
    The issue I have is it appears that the account dimension property in Column B is controlled by the "Data" format column so all of the text is aligned to the right making the report look quite ugly.  How do you format the account property in column B to be aligned in the same manner as the Account Dimension itself (column A)?
    Thanks for any assistance that can be provided.

    Shrikant,
    See screenshot for what I have currently on the formatting tab.
    Are you describing what I have done already?
    Or do you mean add each and every actual Account Member ID?  This is not realistically feasible because I have 800+ account members. I also want the ability to control the member formatting centrally in one location (Account Dimension Table).  This is why I have set up the Account Dimension Property for formatting.

  • Is it possible to apply conditional formatting to a cell (or range) based upon a LOOKUP query to cell values in another sheet.? I want to alter the formatting (i.e., text and/or cell background color), but not cell content.

    Is it possible to apply conditional formatting to a cell (or range) based upon a LOOKUP query to cell values in another sheet.?
    I want to alter the formatting (i.e., text and/or cell background color), but not the content, of the target cell(s).

    Hi Tom,
    Your LOOKUP formula will return a value that it finds in the "other" table. That value can be used in conditional highlighting rules. (Numbers 3 calls it conditional highlighting, not conditional formatting. Just to keep us awake, I guess, but it works the same).
    Please explain what you are trying to do.

  • Report generation toolkit conditional format - how to?

    Hi
    We are using the Report generation toolkit (2010 version), and have a question regarding this tool.
    I see functions for setting the number format, but not a conditional format. Does this not exist?
    http://zone.ni.com/reference/en-XX/help/372120A-01/lvoffice/excel_set_cell_format/
    This page refers to an example which from the name sets a conditional format. However as I understand it, this example is setting a custom number, not a conditional format.

    Hi,
    the simplest way to do this I guess you can provide a template for your Excel sheet, where you can set the conditional format there.
    From LabVIEW you can just send the values into this sheet-template.
    Maybe you can try these if you want

  • Can you transfer data from one numbers spreadsheet to another using conditional formatting?

    I have a tracker document set up for client payments and when I indicate payment received, it  flags green using conditional formatting. However I would like these to automatically transfer to another sheet - without having to cut and paste the associated data to the other sheet. Can I set up conditional formatting to do this? If not how could I get and automatic transfer?
    thanks forum.

    Hi Kangers,
    There are a number of ways to transfer data from one table to the next. It should not be hard to set up.
    Conditional formatting would not be involved it moving the data but you could set it up to flag the data in the new table.
    Without knowing what your tables and data look like it is hard to propose a solution.

  • XStep conditional formatting. Can it be determined at run time ?

    Does anyone know of a way to put conditional formatting into an XStep generated table output. For example, this is what we are trying to do:
    - At some point after an order is generated and released, materials are issued to it.
    - We have created a function module that reports back the list of all materials issued.
    - The FM also checks to see if the material was planned in a reservation.
    - If a material issued was not a planned material we want to list it in RED.
    In the XStep repository, I can simulate a table output using parameter PPPI_FRAGMENT_HTML, and can change font color by giving it a value like
    <div style="color: red">TEST123</div>
    And I get TEST123 displayed in RED.
    I also get TEST123 displayed in red on the generated PI sheet, if I put the put the HTML string above into the XStep as a fixed value.
    But if I program the FM to return this string, then I get the entire string output in the table field and the font color is not changed to RED.

    I got a response at the XStep Cafe and thought it might help others if I share it here.
    Arne Manthey:
    I assume that you are also using PPPI_FRAGMENT_HTML for the parameter to which the FM returns your string. If you valuate this parameter manually it is internally handled as a long text. However the function module will most likely return just a string value and these are probably not recognized as a long text. I do not have any idea how to valuate a long text with a FM when the PI Sheet has already been generated. The only thing I did successfully was to generate HTML text during generation (although not with XSteps). But in your case this would not help, yes?
    The general problem with long text elements is that they are really meant for initial valuation only and not for changing back and forth.
    Another way of doing conditional formatting would be to use some Stylesheet magic which evaluates a status parameter you would set by a function module. This would most likely also include some Javascript to make the change happen. Please follow that path only if it is really necessary because Stylesheet stuff is not easy to handle.
    mrupp:
    Thanks Arne.
    We decided to just add an additional table column with an alert message when needed to flag Unplanned Materials and/or Expired Shelf Life. I have played around with Stylesheets & Javascript a bit and agree that it is not worth it in this case.

  • Is there any way to use a formula or reference in conditional formatting

    I would like to use conditional formatting (or something similar) to change either the background color, or text color, of a cell. The conditional formatting in the inspector will allow you to do this using numbers or text as the condition.
    Is there any way to do the same thing using either a formula or cell reference? I have created a budget with two sheets, "Budget" and "Actual". Each sheet has two tables, "Income" and Expenses." In the "Actual :: Expenses" table I would like to be able to change the cell color depending on the difference between the Actual and the Budget corresponding cells.
    I know I can do this by making a new column "Difference" write the formula and enter conditional formatting for that particular cell, but I DON'T WANT TO!!
    Just for fun, is there any way to roll over a cell and have a info box "pop up" that could show me what the difference between the two corresponding cells is. Kind of similar to how when you roll the mouse pointer over a file the box expands to show you the entire name of the file. Not to optimistic about this one.
    Thanks

    Yes, Peter. Purchase iWork 09. Numbers 09 offers conditional format vs. content of another cell.

  • Conditional format with large data fails and show error as "Selection is too large" in Excel 2007

    I am facing a issue in paste special operation using conditional formats for large data in Excel 2007
    I have uploaded a file at below given location.
    http://sdrv.ms/1fYC9qE
    The file contains two sheets, Sheet "Data" contains the data on which formats are to be applied and sheet "FormatTables" contains the format tables which contains conditional formating.
    There are two table in "FormatTables" sheet. Both have some conditional formats applied on it.
    Case 1:
    1. Select the table range of Table1 i.e $A$2:$AV$2
    2. Copy it
    3. Goto Sheet "Data"
    4. Select data area i.e $A$1:$AV$20664
    5. Perform a paste special operation on full range and select "Formats" option while performing paste special.
    Result:
    It throws error as "Selection is too large"
    Case 2:
    1. Select the table range of Table2 i.e $A$5:$AV$5
    2. Copy it
    3. Goto Sheet "Data"
    4. Select data area i.e $A$1:$AV$20664
    5. Perform a paste special operation on full range and select "Formats" option while performing paste special.
    Result:
    Formats get applied successfully.
    Both are the same format tables with same no of column and applied to same data range($A$1:$AV$20664) where one of the case works and another fails.
    The only diffrence is Table1 has appliesTo range($A$2:$T$2) as partial of total table range($A$2:$AV$2) whereas the Table2 has appliesTo range($A$5:$AV$5) same as of its total table range($A$5:$AV$5)
    NOTE : This issue is only in Excel 2007

    Excel 2007 No Supporting formating to take a formatting form another if source table has more then 16000 rows and if you want to do that in more then it then you have ot inset 1 more row in your format table to have 3 rows
    like: A1:AV3
    then try to copy that formating and apply
    Solution Case 1:
    1.Select the table range of Table1 i.e AV21 and drage it down to one row down
    2. Select the table range of Table1 i.e $A$2:$AV$3
    3. Copy it
    4. Goto Sheet "Data"
    5. Select data area i.e $A$1:$AV$20664
    6. Perform a paste special operation on full range and select "Formats" option while performing paste special

  • Conditional Formatting in one cell with a dates in another cell

    I have a simple spreadsheet that will gauge a project's progress.  I wish to have individual cells change color based on another cell.  I can't get the right syntax in order - groan
    E2 has today's date, =NOW()
    G2 (not started) would change from a color to no color when the start date, F27,  has arrived then
    H2 (started) would change to a color when the date is met, F27, (may be change color as the completed date arrives) then no color when the completed date arrives, F28.
    I2 (completed) would change to a color when the date is met, F28
    When the spread sheet is opened or if I need to change the dates in either of the cells the cells with color gauges will update.
    I am using conditional formating through the ribbon.
    Please help!

  • Conditional format in OBI Publisher Template Builder for Word

    Hi,
    I'm creating a template in MSWord's Publisher. I inserted a table and I tried to add conditional formatting to some of the cells. Nothing special: just standard red color when the value is below 0.
    In several places I've seen that I should go to the cell and do 'Insert>Conditional Format'. Unfortunately I get the following message then:
    The conditional format is not inside a table and can therefore not be applied to a table row
    I tried to google it, but I didn't find anything.
    So I tried to do it with explicit xsl code. In the User's Guide I found an example and after my adjustments it looks like this:
    <?if:_-__ROUND__FACTS_SUMMARY_V_._ACTUAL_COST_PREV_MON___0__<0?>
    <xsl:attribute xdofo:ctx="block" name="background-color">red</xsl:attribute><?end if?>
    <?_-__ROUND__FACTS_SUMMARY_V_._ACTUAL_COST_PREV_MON___0__?>
    I put the above xsl code in 'Properties>Advenced' for a table cell.
    And when I try to preview it as HTML I get the error:
    Caused by: oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XSLException: <Line 45, Column 100>: XML-22047: (Error) Invalid instantiation of 'Attribute' in 'Element' context.
    at oracle.xdo.parser.v2.XSLStylesheet.flushErrors(XSLStylesheet.java:1534)
    I exported my XSL-FO Style Sheet and here you have the lines 41-48:
    <fo:flow flow-name="region-body">
    <fo:block xdofo:line-spacing="multiple:13.8pt" orphans="2" widows="2" linefeed-treatment="preserve" start-indent="5.4pt" text-align="start" padding-bottom="10.0pt" end-indent="5.4pt" padding-top="0.0pt" height="0.0pt" font-size="11.0pt" font-family="Calibri"/>
    <fo:block xdofo:line-spacing="multiple:13.8pt" orphans="2" widows="2" linefeed-treatment="preserve" text-align="start" padding-bottom="0.25pt" end-indent="5.4pt" padding-top="0.25pt">
    <fo:table start-indent="0.0pt" style-id="ts16" style-name="Table Grid" xdofo:table-summary="Template Table 1" xdofo:row-header-count="0">
    <xsl:variable name="_XDOFOPOS2" select="number(1)"/>
    <xsl:variable name="_XDOFOTOTAL" select="number(1)"/>
    <fo:table-column column-width="45.5pt"/>
    <fo:table-column column-width="57.2pt"/>
    I can't see here anything related to my piece of code.
    Do you have any suggestions what do I do wrong?
    And, what's more important, what should I do, to make this conditional formatting run?
    I'm using Template Builder v. 10.1.3.4.
    I'm new to BI and not an expert in XSL, so please forgive me if the info in my post is incomplete. Let me know about it and I'll try to fill the gaps.
    Thanks in advance.
    Cheers,
    WhatTheHell

    Hi,
    Here is what I have used in the past. insert a formula and copy one of these into the formula (and of course change the field names to your report field name).
    Changing Background Color Based on a Condition:
    <?choose:?><?when:GETROWNUM mod 2=0?><xsl:attribute xdofo:ctx="block" name="background-color">rgb(231,230,229)</xsl:attribute><?end when?><?end choose?>
    OR
    <?choose:?><?when:ROWNUM mod 2=0?>
    <xsl:attribute xdofo:ctx="block" name="background-color">rgb(241,235,207)</xsl:attribute>
    <?end when?>
    <?end choose?>
    OR
    Change font color for entire row based on a condition
    <?if@row:STAT='B'?><?attribute@incontext:color;'red'?><?end if?>
    Hope this helps,
    Steve
