Step 1
Open the Sharing pane in System Preferences. If the Computer Name is not set, enter a name. You may first have to click the lock icon in the lower left corner and authenticate to unlock the settings. Then reinstall the EPSON update.

Step 2
If there's no improvement after Step 1, restore the following folder from the last backup you made before the EPSON update:
/Library/Printers/EPSON
You may have to reset the printing system for the change to become effective.

Sprint Centro - VersaMail error message will not stop

I am getting the following error message every few minutes: VersaMail mail account: Send Mail Failed
I wish I could recount everything I did in the past 24 hours with my phone, but I can't. I know I upgraded to Centro-1.07-SPNT yesterday and then connected to AOL - I thought via versamail but I guess it was actually through Sprint mobile email (not sure I understand the distinction, sorry to say). And then I thought I would try to send an email via AOL and that's when the problems started. I have been receiving that error message ever since - all last night and continuing today. I deleted AOL from the sprint mobile e-mail. VersaMail is installed on my Centro but I do not see a user interface (i.e. button) to access it. I am not usually so helpless with technology but am very confused by what is going on. Your suggestions are welcome!

Hello Jim29. Thank you for posting on the HP Forums. I understand a Windows Update is failing. Based on the error, it is safe to assume that some part of your printer software is interfering. Personally, I would uninstall the printer software, then run the Windows Update. Once it is successful, reinstall the printer software.

Error message will not go away

Any steps I take in Photoshop end up with an error message saying it "cannot complete my request due ro a program error "--- clicking OK does not make it go away.. I've used the trouble shooting suggestions and reinstalled. I also tried the alternative login, disk utility, cocktail, and reinstalling all my CS3 programs
I'm a long time Mac user and had never encountered this before.
Please help as this is day 2 spent trying to resolve this this problem. I fear I'll have to reinstall my operating system which will be a nightmare in terms of saving and all it entails.

IPod mini "playlist" error message will not allow me to transfer songs

When I plug my iPod mini into the computer to transfer songs, I get an error message that says that the songs could not be transferred due to non-existent playlists. I deleted my playlists after this message...and I still get the same error message. I have songs in my iTunes library, but now my iPod mini has no songs on it.

Actually, I managed to side-step doing the manual playlist by clicking the first option under the iPod options...I can't remember what it was, but I decided to take a chance and now it is loading all of my songs, one song at a time. Thanks for helping, I was really nervous that I lost all my songs.

Time machine error message "will not connect"

When trying to back up to Time capsule using Time machine I get this error message "The backup disk is not available." for my iMac. However, I can browse my Time Capsule using Time maching so I'm pretty sure they can connect. My wife gets the same for her Time Machine using a external hard drive with her MacBook Pro. It all started a week ago... Any suggestions?

Hi, and welcome to the forums.
That's a +Network Drive,+ and TIme Machine doesn't work well, if at all, with non-Apple network drives.

If none of that helps, there's a chance that changing some of the names might help. See #C9 in the Time Machine - Troubleshooting *User Tip,* also at the top of this forum.
If still no help, copy and post all the messages here, but don't replace the names with asterisks -- we can't tell if there's a problem with them if we can't see them.

Epson stylus pro 3800 will not print via ethernet port

Recently I set up a sling box utilizing my Apple Extreme's singular ethernet port. In order to free up the port for the slingbox I removed the epson printer and directly connected it to my Imac through its ehternet port. I print all my photos from this Mac so i do not need the network accessibility. The Imac does not show the printer at all but does continue to communicate with the wireless usb printer, a Brother. The question i have is how can i get my Mac to recognize the Epson through the ethernet port?

As you probably have noticed this is way out of the range of my apple-knowledge:

And how can I reinstall them?
The Printer Setup Repair says:
2 missing files/directories found during the verification process. They may be responsible for certain printing problems. Printer Setup Repair cannot replace these items. Please refer to the log file for a list of the missing files/directories. You may need to reinstall OS X to resolve your printing issues. Certain files and directories are deleted when using the Reset Printing System option. These files and directories, if required, will be recreated during normal printing.
I really don't want to reinstall OS X.

The first thing you could try is a reset of the printing system. Please note that this action will remove all printers and scanners from the Printers & Scanners preference pane.
With the reset complete, unplug the Epson USB cable from the Mac for a minute and then reconnect it. This action should result in the printer being added again to the Mac automatically. If this does happen, then see if you can print again.
If the printer is not added again automatically, open Printers & Scanners and click the plus button to add the Epson. Once this is done, then see if you can print again.

Dreamweaver error message will not open (CS5)

I know this exact question has been asked before, but i still really do not understand. I understand that an XML file needs to be deleted, but I don't know how to get to that XML file or even how to get to the file path that it refers to. I tried uninstalling and reinstalling it but nothing worked.

Follow the exact path shown in the screenshot.
The AppData folder is hidden by default in Windows.
If you cannot see it, in Windows Explorer click Tools > Folder Options, click the View tab then check the box labelled "Show hidden files, folders and drives"
You can now see the AppData folder and reach the .xml file to delete it.
Next time you launch Dreamweaver, it will recreate the .xml file automatically.

Binding error message will not go away

I am getting this message:
Scene 1, Binding between <unknown>.. and
<unknown>.results.menu.publishers.menu-item: The endpoint of
the binding does not exist
I have removed the xml component and the combo to which it
was bound, yet I still get the message. It doesn't seem to hurt the
functionality of the application when these message remain, but it
is frustrating.
I have seen this question asked several times on the web, but
the only answer I have seen is to remove every component in an
application. This is impractical. There must be another way!
Any thoughts?

Epson printer 3880 will not print

iMac 2009
OSX 10.8.5
After upgrading from Snow lipard to Mountain Lion bouth my Epson R1900 and 3880 will not print in Adobe Lightroom 5.
I have checked in the PPD file and the R1900 is listed but the 3880is not. I ran update from the apt stor and also tried the Epsom web site updates and still it will not work. I also tried the cds that came with the printers and I get this"You cant open the application :Epson" because powerPC applications are no longer supported.

Have you downloaded the 3880 drivers? There is a driver for 10.8 listed. You can check the same link for the other printer.

Can anyone out there help, after a recent Apple software update my Epson Stylus Photo RX640 will no longer print, every other aspect of the printer works fine including the scanner but it just will not print, I sent an email to apple but all i got was an automated reply directing me to their support page, the email i sent is below this explains in full what the problem is & what i have done to try & fix this problem.

I have spent days trying to fix this, i have been onto Epsons website & followed their resolution for this error message to no avail, after contacting them again with the results i got an email back saying : In response to your email, the RX640 will use an inbox or gutenprint driver on Mac OS X 10.6.8, it is not compatible with an Epson driver.
I have also tried re-installing drivers from original Discs for the printer but it still will not print, obviously this error has been caused by Apple's latest software update, when are Apple going to fix this problem? i need my printer working ASAP.

It is hardly Apple's fault that Epson can't/won't update their driver, but at least Epson suggest that you use the Gutenprint driver, which in any case is far better that what Epson offer.

I haven't been able to try this fix, but someone emailed me the below fix:
I had same problem.Elements13 would not open my new default printer, but worked ok on four other versions of Elements. No help from Adobe, after three days of searching & phoning adobe , I found out by:- Going into Elements 13, Press Edit button, down to "Preferences and across to general. Press the "Reset Preferences on next launch". I then suggest you go through each section to make sure that your chosen preference are still ticked/checked in.
It worked for me. Hope same for you.
I'm planning on trying this fix soon. Let me know how it goes for you if you get to try it before me. Will do the same. Thanks,

In the Print dialog box, click Print Settings and verify the Paper Size you chose. This is important because the 3880 has three paper feeds (auto sheet feeder, rear manual feed, front manual feed). And for each major paper size you have to choose not only the size but also the correct feed. For example, if you want US Letter, choose US Letter, notice that this menu expands to five more US Letter paper size options, and choose the specific US Letter paper feed you want.
If there is a mismatch between the paper size + feed combination you picked and the feed where the paper actually is, you can get the error that you're seeing. Because the Epson printer driver will look for the paper in a feed where there isn't any paper.
So if you've added US Letter paper to the automatic paper tray, in Paper Size double-check that you chose the US Letter submenu command that says just US Letter, not one of the other options like US Letter (Manual - Front).

Hello PW, I am having this problem and all suggestions haven't worked yet. Where is the Preferences|Documents you are referring to? I am on a PC and using Windows.
