EQ_TEST USER Authentication fails

Hi,
I got password expired message for EQ_TEST user, then I changed the password to some other. After that crawling dosn't work
***Crawler raised the following error for data source "dsname" at time May 27, 2010 15:35:24***
EQG-30046: Invalid user name or password for user EQ_TEST
EQG-30249: Crawler process aborted
I am using Oracle SES 11.1.2.0.0
what can I do now?

Here's some notes on how to recover from it:
How to recover if EQ_TEST password has been expired.

If eq_test password is expired, crawler and optimization don't work. If you
start crawler after EQ_TEST password is expired, next error occurs.
ORA-28001: the password has expired
For optimization case, it doesn't raise explicit error but optimization
status changes to "disabled".
Once you encounter this situation, please follow next steps.
1) Launch SQL*Plus, connect as EQSYS user, and run next SQL.
SQL> exec eq_adm.use_instance('eq_inst')
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
2) Change EQ_TEST password manually. Here, we are changing the password to
password1 as an example.
SQL> alter user eq_test identified by password1;
User altered.
3) Register the password in the backend.
SQL> exec eq_crw.set_sysinfo('PASSWORD','password1');
PL/SQL procedure successfully completed.
4) Open web logic console (http://<host>:<port>/console/) via browser,
loging as user "weblogic" (password is same to EQSYS password).
In "Domain Structure" at the left pane, navigate to:
base_domain -> Services -> JDBC -> Data Sources (click this one)
You can see "Summary of JDBC Data Sources" in your right pane. Click
"EnterpriseSearchDS". "Settings for EnterpriseSearchDS" is presented.
Click "connection pool" tab. Click "Lock & Edit" button located at the
upper left. Then, all the parameters are unlocked.
Enter "Password" and "Confirm Password" field. Click "Save" button.
This technique can be used to change EQ_TEST password.
If you have any trouble with this process, post here or raise a Service Request with Oracle Support. Be sure to reference the bug number in the SR.
To prevent this happening again you should change the default profile:
1) Launch SQL*Plus, connect as EQSYS user and run next SQL.
SQL> alter profile default limit PASSWORD_LIFE_TIME unlimited;
Profile altered.
2) Check PASSWORD_LIFT_TIME for default profile changed to 'unlimited'.
SQL> select limit from dba_profiles
where profile='DEFAULT'
and RESOURCE_NAME='PASSWORD_LIFE_TIME';

    Since a couple of days, I have a problem concerning authentication to the java apllication on a SAP Netweaver 2004s.
    Using the user ‘Administrator’, I CAN logon the Visual Administrator tool, with the same user I tried to logon via http://host:port/nwa without success.
    At the beginning, I was thinking about a problem of password then I enabled the emergency user SAP*, the problem was the same. Ok with Visual Administrator but not via http.

    Hi,
    I found the solution this last week-end.
    This behavior let's thinking to a problem of authentication.
    But the problem was in SQL, an index was missing in table J2EE_CONFIG, called J2EE_CONFIG_I3

  • User Authentication failed on configuring LDAP

    Hi,
    I had configured MS ADS ReadOnly Deep Hierarchy + Database as my datasource. earlier it was "Database only". Once I did new configuration to ADS+Database, the test connection was succesfull and then restarted the server.
    When I try to login it says user authentication failed. When I check for particular loginId say "testuser" in User Administration it gave 2 results for the same login ID one coing from UME and the other from LDAP.
    To resolve this conflict do I need to delete one of the login ID from either UME or LDAP, or is there any other solution where I can resolve this issue.

    If the user id is same in the portal UME as well as LDAP there will be conflict and you need to delete the id at one place or if you want both you need to change the id.

  • User authentication Failed in XMII portal

    Hi,
    we are using XMII 12.0 version and deployed in SAP netweaver 2004s. We are frequently facing issue in XMII Menu page login and in SAP netweaver user management logins as "User authentication Failed". It is happening for all users suddenly. we are giving  username and password correctly but we faced the same problems. We tried with all users then also we cant able to find the probem. Every time we needs to restart the server then it works.
    What is the issue and how to resolve it?

    Hi Senthil,
    I would strongly recommend upgrading your installation.  You are on 12.0.2 and the current release is 10 service packs later.  You should upgrade to 12.0.12 before working on what is probably the original GA version from about 4 years ago.

    Hi, I have not used my VPN connection for quite some time but when I did recently try and log on again I get the box to enter in my user name and password, I proceed to enter it, then the box pops up again, I enter it again, and then it pops up a third time, and I enter it a third time.  Finally I get a Reason 413: User Authentication Failed message box and I never can connect.  Does this sound like a problem with my actual user name and/or password, or could it be something else?     The actual reson of failure can be seen on the external authentication server. If you have a radius server, please go and check what error message are you getting there.
    Could be dial-in issue, max-number of session, wrong password, acount locked-out etc
    Also let us know what radius are you using?

    I have a EP7 SP18 Portal .
    The portal UME is Readonly Microsoft LDAP + UME Database.
    I have a user named testuser which exists in Both the UME's.
    the testuser of LDAP is locked through Portal User admin.
    Now whenever the testuser tries to logon to portal,he gets User Authentication Failed message.
    The failed logon  attempt info is not reflcted  in User Account details.when viewd through portal user admin.
    if Administrator resets the Password of testuser in portal,then user is able to logon to the portal using this password.
    Next day,again same thing happens.
    what can be the reason behind this ?

  • "User authentication failed" when connecting with Visual Administrator

    Hello,
    I am having trouble making a connection to my local J2EE Engine using the Visual Administrator (VA).
    I open the VA interface and create a new connection. The default User Name is "Administrator". I put in "localhost" for host, "50004" for port and leave the Transport Layer selection to "Default".
    When I try to connect this way I get the following message:
    User authentication failed
    Next I went into Start|Settings|Control Panel|Users and Passwords  and saw that there were several ids created by the Developer Workplace (DW) installation. The ids that I see are: j2eadm,sapadmin,sapinstall and SAPServiceJ2E
    I checked all of them to see what groups they're members of and they're all at least members of "Administrators" group.
    There are also 3 new groups that must have been created by the DW installation: SAP_J2E_GlobalAdmin, SAP_J2E_LocalAdmin and SAP_LocalAdmin.
    The j2eadm id belonged to all 3 new sap groups so I changed its password to something I'd remember and then changed the connection to use that login.
    When I tried to connect thru VA using this id and the new password I still get the "User authentication failed" error message.
    Can anyone please tell me what I'm doing wrong?

    Hi,
    During the installation the SAPINST asks for a Administrator  Password.. This password is very important.
    We had kept same passwords for all userids to start with.
    This helped reduce lot of confusion.
    Warning: if you enter the wrong password 5 times, the userid 'Administrator' gets locked.
    However there is an Emergency password recovery procedures.

    Hello!
    We have EP 6.0 (SP 18) and ABAP Backed 6.40 (SP21).  UME is connected to the backend system for user managment.
    When we try to log on to EP with a user that is locked by the system admin in the backend, the message shown is "User authentication failed".
    Should it be possible to show a message as "User locked by system admin", for the user to know the reason?

  • User Authentication Failed error when trying to display a JSP portlet

    The steps carried out are as follows :
    1. Created a JSP file named "c.jsp" and deployed it under 902_MidTier_Home\j2ee\home\default-web-app\examples\jsp
    2. Created a table named USER_TABLE under Scott schema to store the usernames and passwords to validate this JSP application.
    3. Registered this JSP as an external application with the following values :
    Application Name           : RAGHU
    Login URL          : http://hostname:port/j2ee/examples/jsp/c.jsp
    User Name/ID Field Name     : username
    Password Field Name     : password
    Type of Authentication Used : POST
    3. Clicked on the External Application and entered the username as USER1 and password as USER1 ( These values are available
    under USER_TABLE for comparison ). Then it shows the message "Hi User1 .. Welcome message"
    4. Now created a directory named JSPSAMPLE under "WEB-INF\Providers" and put the provider.xml file under this.
    Created a raghu.properties file and placed it under "WEB-INF\deployment".
    5. Now tested the testpage using the URL " http://hostname:port/jpdk/providers/raghu " and it works fine.
    6. Registered this as a provider in Portal and added this portlet onto a page. Assigned this page to a newly created user.
    It gives the message " Authentication Failed - Update Login Information " which is expected. I click on the link and
    it takes me to the external application username password. I enter the credentials but this time it comes back again
    to the page with the same message " Authentication Failed - Update Login Information ".
    7. Basically the values are not passed to the Username and Password in jsp page which is why the problem occurs.
    The JSP Code used is as follows :

    As I can see from the information posted, you are trying to
    use URL-based portlet's SSO feature, though not in a correct
    way.
    The SSO feature of URL-based portlets relie on the usage
    of Cookies as authentication tokens. For example, in the
    present context, http://hostname:port/j2ee/examples/jsp/c.jsp
    will write a cookie to the client upon successfull authentication.
    Subsequent access to the same JSP or some other JSP in the same
    workspace should be checking for the existence of this particular
    cookie at the client side and if found should not prompt for
    user information again.
    If you can fine tune your existing applications as per above
    conditions, then everything should work fine. Else you might
    want to use page parameters to pass user information.

  • User Authentication failed

    Hi all,
    I like to share one of my peculiar issue with you and like to get a solution as well.
    I am trying to install a portal server with r3load based method. I did a java export of mssql Portal server and suceefully imported in the newly installed server.The server is up and running.I also completed the post installation activites like SLD ,SSO and Jco creation. I am not able to log in to the java page using administrator user and also other users..It keep on saying that user authentication is failed.
    But the beauty is that using the same adminsitrator user i am logging in the visaul administrator .
    I dont know where the problem and also i verified the log files under cluset/server nodes. There i found the log as  follows  --- > Connection is already closed and no longer associated with a managed connection,,
    I dont know where i am missing. Due to this I reinstalled the server and imported again..But the same problem is existing to me. Anyone have suggestion on this please do reply.

    Thnaks for reply. Its only a java system ,, So no activity needs to be done in SU01. I checked the table in database..the users are exisitng as well in the table.
    FYI: I am able to log in visaul admin but not in the java pages like
    http://<hostname>:port/
    http://<hostname>:port/irj

    Open the Config Tool.
    \usr\sap\<SID>\j2ee<instance_Number>\j2ee\configtool\configtool.bat
    Go to
    cluster-data --> Globar Server Configuration --> Services --> com.sap.security.core.ume.service
    Set the parameter
    ume.superadmin.activate = TRUE
    ume.superadmin.password = <password>
    Try logon in portal with this new password.
    If you install only java the user is Administrator
    If you install Java/Abap the user is j2ee_admin

  • Redirect to the jsp page after user authenticated successfully  …

    Here is the requirement …
    I’m using “JAAS – Custom Login Module” for user authentication.
    I have few questions in Portal Logon process …
    1. Exactly at what point I can conclude that the user has been authenticated successfully, because I have to redirect the user to some other page for the first time logon to enter some information, subsequent logins shouldn’t be redirected. (I can update flag upon entering information).
    2. Where should I add my redirection code? Is it in my JASS Custom Login Module?
    If yes, how can I do that ? I’m more consider on “where should I add it”?
    3. Do I need to change my “UmLogonPage.jsp” to complete my requirement?
    4. Once after entering the Logon information, who will call my JASS – Custom Login Module for authentication? If authentication has failed who will return the control back to the “umLogonPage.jsp”?
    5. In my JASS Custom Login Module, I have no redirections except having logic for authentication process, and some Login Exceptions are thrown for failure logins.
    6. Who will catch these exceptions for failure logins to redirect back to the “umLogonPage.jsp”.
    7. Finally I like to know where can I add my redirection logic once the user has been authenticated successfully?
    8. last but not least can any of the experts explain the whole login process (using JASS module)? How the control goes from one component to another?
    Any kind of help is appreciated.

    yes what you said was correct, storing information in R/3 System and getting the details from FM using Connector framework.
    You said i have to modify "header.jsp", can you please tell which .par file should i get to modify?
    one more question to you ... i have provide custom logon error messages to the user ... i did all the modification in logon.par and deployed in EP 6 .. working fine .. i can able to see "User ID Missing" , "Password Missing" etc ..
    when i place same peace of code in EP 7 it always displaying "User Authentication failed". can u guess what whould be the problem?
