Equalizer Option on Reader for PC Software

I love using Reader for PC Software to read my books. I really liked audio menu when I first found, too. But lack of equalizer makes it bad. I love listening music with bass boost while reading books. Can you please add equalizer in future releases?

    I agree 100% with the previous posts. Reader PC is simply the worst app I've ever come across. I just purchased two PRS-T1 Readers and have spent many hours now trying to manage audio files, with no success.
    In addition, the operation of the audio app is very poor. A $10 MP3 player outperforms this unit by a long shot. When you set the unit to "shuffle" it shuffles only within the album, not the whole library. This alone renders the audio part of this unit useless.
    Come on Sony. Get this fixed fast. I will never recommend this product until a thorough fix is in.

    Gosh... I wish I'd read this before purchasing my PRS-T1. USER-978426 is being way to kind. This may be the worst software ever created. These reviews should be posted on Amazon, where they are more findable, as well as here.
    If you are considering a purchase, run, don't walk from this device. The reader works fine. The Sony "Reader for PC" software is an abomination, as is Sony tech support for this product. I have owned the reader for about 7 months and it has consistently produced errors: "Internal Server Error -40322 (413)"... how helpful is that... when the device is plugged into my PC. At other times it just hangs or crashes. I have spent hours on the phone with their tech support trying to resolve the problem, to no avail. I let one of Sony's tech support people remote in to my PC to fix the problem... he couldn't fix it but, in the process of trying, he wiped out a book with about 40 hours of notes, highlights, cross references, etc. that I had prepared for a class. Yesterday I spent several more hours with Sony Tech Support trying to solve the sync problem. He had me remove all the books from my Sony "Reader for PC" library. When I plugged my reader back in today, it wiped out ALL the remaining books, including notes, highlights, etc., on my reader... totally without warning or any action on my part. No "You are about to delete... do you want to continue" message. Well over a hundred hours of work down the drain. When I called Tech support this morning all they could say was "I apologize, your work is not recoverable." To add insult to injury, after removing all my books and notes from my reader, the PC software once again said "Internal Server Error -40322 (413)"
    I paid more for this reader because I felt it was worth it to get the best... what I got was the worst. This is literally the worst product experience I have ever had. Sony... what happened to ya?

    A collection is a custom set of books and other items that you create from items on the Reader or the library of the Reader™ for PC or Mac® software. It is a unique and convenient way to organize your items. You can organize and personalize your content by creating collections by subject matter, date, genre or anything that best suits your purpose.
    Create a collection:
    Click the My Library tab.
    On the category bar, click Collections.
    Click the Create New Collectionbutton.
    Enter a collection name and then press Enter on your keyboard. A new collection will be added to the Collections list.
    Add books to the collection:
    Once you have created the collection, click the My Librarytab.
    On the category bar, click to select the book you want to add to the collection. Multiple books can be selected by holding down the Ctrlkey while clicking on the books.
    With the book(s) selected, at the bottom of the screen, click the Add to Collectionbutton.
    From the menu that pops up, click to select the collection you want to add the book(s) to.
    NOTE: The next time you sync your Reader Digital Book, the collection and its contents will be added to your Reader device.

    NOTE: You can reimport your books purchased from other websites after installing the Reader for PC. Books purchased from the Reader Store from Sony will automatically show up in the My Library section after sign in.

  • Poor reflow on Reader for Android

    On opening a new PDF in Adobe Reader on my Samsung Galaxy SII and setting the display to reflow some of the paragraphs in the document are broken up so they dispay as if there are lots of little paragraphs instead of one paragraph. When I open the same document in Adobe Reader on my laptops and set the document to relfow and colapse the window down smaller everything looks fine.
    Reflowing a PDF on smaller devices is critical to my selling the idea of PDF for mobile. If they don't display properly on smaller devices then there is not much use in my selling the idea that PDF can easily be read on many devices without haveing to zoom in and scroll horizontally.
    It seems like something happened with the reflow and now it is busted. I have screen captures to illustrate the problem if only I could upload them. If Adobe Reader for Android are listening (reading) please contact me for more info so we can get the problem fixed.
    And by the way why is there no reflow option in Reader for iOS?

    Thanks for the fast response.  I know you're probably not deciding feature priorities, so please don't be offended by my following comments.
    I have to say I'm somewhat confused by the lack of such an obvious feature.  If I understand this correctly...
    Let's say I'm reading "War and Peace" on my Android tablet using Reader X.  It's a very long book...so I'm likely not to be able to read it in one sitting.
    I want to keep my place in War and Peace and check out the latest copy of Playboy.
    So you're telling me that I have to write down the page number on a piece of paper...transfer the file to a PC with a "proper" (ie. functional) copy of Reader...navigate to the page I was on in War and Peace...create a bookmark...transfer the file back to the Android tablet and next time I open it I can go right to where I was at!
    I'm sure I'm not the first person to tell you this - but that's crazy  :-)  Without the ability to create bookmarks on the tablet the bookmark feature is useless.
    This must be the easiest ever feature to implement.  I'm quite astonished...really.
    Again, thanks for the fast response...I know sometimes it must be frustrating to have to give "official company" answers like that :-)

    Installing the Reader Library or Reader for PC software for the first time and installation does not complete.
    Installing the Reader Library software over an existing installation and installation does not complete.
    You receive the error: Unable to install Reader Library, please close Adobe Digital Editions before continuing.
    You receive the error: Windows installer has stopped working.
    Unable to uninstall the currently installed version of the Reader Library.
    NOTES:
    The supplied software is not compatible with 64-bit versions of the Microsoft® Windows® operating system.
    If you receive an 1125 Error during the installation process, a different procedure is available.
    Installing the Reader Library software for the first time and installation does not complete:
    Verify that the computer meets the minimum system requirements for the software.
    If the computer has an antivirus software running, disable the software until installation is complete.
    If the computer has spyware detection software running, disable the software until installation is complete.
    If you are running the installation from the eBook store or esupport Web site, when you click download, select Save instead of Run. Save the file to a folder on your computer, then double-click the file to start the installation.
    Following the steps listed above should resolve your issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, contact eBook Store from Sony support at 877-263-2863 for further assistance.

    Run the installation again. If the issues still occurs, restart the computer and try the process again. Disconnect the Reader Digital Book from your computer (if connected).

    Click the Start button and in the Search box, type: RUN and then press ENTER on your keyboard.
    In the Run box, type: SERVICES.MSC
    Click OK.
    Look for the service name Windows Installer.
    Double Click on 'Windows Installer' service.
    In the Windows Installer window, click Startup type and then select Automatic.
    Click Apply and then click Ok.
    Restart the computer to apply the changes.
    Install the Reader Library software.
    Unable to uninstall the currently installed version of the Reader Library software:
    If you are having difficulty uninstalling the Reader Library software, you should rename the kinoma and Sony Corporation folders. After renaming these folders, try to uninstall the Reader Library software again.
    Following the steps listed above should resolve your issue. If you have completed all of the steps and the issue is not resolved, contact eBook Store from Sony support at 877-263-2863 for further assistance.

    What you are looking for is only available for iOS 5 and above.  You will need to connect your iPhone to a computer and update through iTunes as always.

    How do I go about getting the latest PKG so I can deploy the fix?

    Can you try clearing your cache?  This was indeed a problem earlier today (sorry!) but should be corrected now.

    If you are using iOS 4 (or earlier) there is no Software Update in Settings. That feature was first added in iOS 5.
    To update you will have to connect your iPad to iTunes on a computer (preferably the one you sync with and backup to).

    Hello, I wish to install Linux Ubuntu on my macbook pro by using boot camp to set aside space. Whenever I load the Boot Camp Assistant application out of the utilities folder in applications, it only gives me the options to download windows support software and install windows 7. I do not want this, I just want to be able to slide that little bar to set aside the space on my hard drive that i can use for Linux. I tried just downloading the windows support software but my internet is immensely slow and it has been an hour or so since it started and it's not even half way done. When this download is finished will i get the option to partition or will i just be faced with those same options?
    I am on a 13" macbook pro, with apple OS X snow leopard version 10.7.2
    A lot of the data on this macbook was transferred over from my old macbook i had.
    Any ideas on how to fix this problem?

    Well thank you for your honesty.  Apple requires you have to have a Mac to develop iPhone apps, ergo my foray into OS-Xland. No way around it that one except for running OSX in a VM, which would have probably saved me some quid, true enough.
    BUT for those interested parties: VirtualBox has a startup script in /Library/StartupItems/VirtualBox that will prevent OSX from fully booting on the initial (and required) rEFIt boot cycle. Once I temporarily moved that out of the StartupItems rEFIt went in as expected.
    FYI, the openSUSE desktop running native is a little peppier than OSX native which was a nice surprise.  Now if the Mac just had more open source software we would have a deal. (:

    How can one schedule a specific time of day (i.e. between 11:01 pm to 5.59 am when I have unlimited download availability) for an iMac to search for automatic software updates? System preferences only offer frequency, but no time option. If it is possible to schedule a specific time, will invoking the feature override the sleep function, wake up the machine and perform the software update and then let the machine go back to "sleep?"     to clarify barney's suggestion, the following terminal command will download all available updates and put them in your Downloads folder.
    softwareupdate -d --all
    so what you need to do is this.
    1. turn off automatic software update in software update system preferences.
    2. make a cron or a launch daemon to run the above terminal command periodically at the time of your choosing. to make a launch daemon I recommend using lingon http://tuppis.com/lingon/
    The daemon will only run if the computer is not asleep at the scheduled time so you might want to set to to wake/start shortly before that. this is done in system preferences->energy saver->schedule.
    to install the updates once they are downloaded double-click on the pkg files and follow the instructions.

    You have to understand the difference between an Update and an Upgrade.
    An Update is a free change to add to the base code or as a bug fix within an existing Operating System. Such as the .8 added to OSX 10.5 or the .11 added to OSX 10.4..
    An Upgrade is a complete new Operating System that must be purchased. Such as 10.5 Leopard to 10.6 Snow Leopard.
    10.5 Leopard was written for Power PC Macs with code added to force it to run on Intel processors.
    10.6 Snow Leopard has completely rewritten code and only runs on Intel Macs.
    10.7 Lion ($19.99) used some 32 bit which allows it to run on Late 2006 through Early 2008 MacBooks and a lot of 64 bit code.
    10.8 Mountain Lion ($19.99) is pure 64 bit, which excludes more systems than Lion did. It can only run on the Late 2008 through Mid 2010 MacBooks. It's not something you can add memory to, for example, as it involves the base architecture.
    10.9 Mavericks is pure 64 bit and is a free download from the App store.
    The 10.6 Snow Leopard DVD is in the Apple online store. You can get it for $19.99. http://store.apple.com/us/product/MC573/mac-os-x-106-snow-leopard After you’ve installed that then download the 10.6.8 combo updater to finish it off. http://support.apple.com/kb/DL1399 You will need to be running 10.6.8 to access the App Store to order Lion, Mountain Lion or Mavericks which are downloads only.

    1GB of memory
