Hi All,
I have problem in AS02 bdc.When transferring the equipment from one plant to another.We run one BDC for changing BUSSINESS AREA , PLANNING PLANT , MATENANCE PLANT IN IE02.After that I am running one BDC for AS02 for changing Plant assignment.Here I am facing the problem for rare cases.The equipment description is overlapped by assets description for rare cases.I am confused about this...<removed by moderator>...Thanx in advance..

Your question contains answer ... Please change "Change equipment NO SYNCHRONIZATION" into DIRECT SYNCHRONIZATION AFTER SAVING and also make sure that Synchronization button is on in AS02 for relevant assets in Allocation tab. Please do this and revert back. Please also refer to an excellent article about PM & AA synchronization. Hope it will help you solve your issue.

Equipment description in maintenace orders

Hi,Expert i met below problem:
Equipment A has some maintenance work orders before June 20th, and then i change its equipment description on June 20th.
then, all the maitenance order's equipment discription would be updated , even for those before June 20th.
I hope it can:
All those work orders created before June 20th could remain the old description.
All those work orders created on and after June 20th could use new description.
Temporary solutions i can think of:
1.develop report. capture equipment description in work order from the description based on order creation date(by history).
2.by system enhancement.Save order number and description to a developed table everytime when we create order, and report capture this field.
Wondering:
In MM module , material description of purchase orders are saved in PO tables, not material code's tables. Why can't PM do it in this way?

there is a facility of installing & dismantling of equipment which generates usage history & IW38 , IW37N , which gives wide variety of display i think we can find something from it if you explain clearly what's ur requirement or scenario.

I have finally figured out how to export an iphoto album so that I can maintain the proper order of the photos after burning the file. How do I keep each individual photo title and description after exporting and burning? Presently after exporting and burning each photo is identified by the file name rather than each individual title description.

File name and Title are not the same thing.
Filename is attached to the Jpeg file in the Finder.
Title is attached to the photo within the Jpeg file - as is the description. These are written to the Exif and IPTC metadata on export.
So: File -> Export. Kind: Jpeg or Tiff and Check the box at 'Title and Keywords'. This will write the Title, keywords and descriptions (though not explicitly stated) to the metadata. This can then be viewed in any app that understand this material.
You can choose, if you wish, to also use the Title as a Filename - that's an option at File Name

How do I edite my collection description after it's already exported (in HTML)?

I've been using Photoshop and Lightroom for a while not. Both are amazing, and I'm even now using Dreamweaver. Anyway...now, I'll get to my question:
How do I edited my collection description after already having exported my Lightroom Gallery? For one, I noticed a spelling error in the title, and I also want to edit the description a little bit more without having to re-export it from LR again and having to Re-publish all again. (I manage to use the file codes to change a few other things using DW, but for the life in me I cannot figure out how to change the Description).
I guess this is actually a coding question, not a question about LR itself, but I'm hoping some people who've used and tweaked LR galleries will understand my plight and help me. I would appreciate it very much.
Oh, and if it makes any difference, I'm using The Turning Gate free gallery because it's HTML5. I wasn't sure if any of the other LR5 CC ones were HTML5, that's why.

Two options.
Export the gallery again but to your desktop. Find the Index page with the description on it and edit to the way you want. Dreamweaver will work fine but a text editor will suffice. Save the page and upload that page only- replacing the one online.
Discard the exported gallery.
Second option, download the offending page via FTP, edit it and replace on your site.

Equipment master record updation in Asset master record

Dear Friends,
I have a query with regard to Equipment master record updation in asset master record. Here we have created equipment in Plant maintenance module and we have created asset in AS01 tcode. When we give the asset number to PM module guys, they can easily update the asset number in their equipment master by changing the equipment master record.
But when we enter the same in asset master record in 3rd tab allocations tab, initially it is accepting the equipment details like equipment number, category, object and tech description, but the same is not available after saving.
Please let me know whether I have to do any customization in asset settings inorder to get the equipment number populated in asset master record.

AS02 is for Asset change..........here you can change only dpercaition keys.......
You can define in AS93..........under Takeover values.
Also u can check the value at AS02 under Deperciation area at initial tab ..you can see there at Menu Bar..

If you're using iWeb to publish your podcast to iTunes, simply go to the webpage that you have the feed as, go to the inspector panel and click on the RSS tab, then podcast. There, you should be able to edit podcast author and several other info tags through your podcast.
Publish after you make the changes and then use this link, just insert your podcast ID number as provided by iTunes:

Clicking that link will update your feed with the store. You should see the changes immediately if not within the next couple hours.

Is there any way to include the BizTalk Application Description after exporting the MSI?

Anything I put in my biztalk app Description field(see first image), it shows up in the Comments attribute of the exported MSI file. But if I edit the
Comment attribute(see second image) and then import the MSI file, the edited comment does not reflect in the BizTalk app description. How can I push that description from MSI file?

You can’t set the comment/Description property of the msi from the msi file. MSI is read-only, any changes doesn’t affect the conent of the msi. An
installer package is "compiled" by reading the instructions from the database and created as the .msi file.
When you export an application as msi, its details are retrieved from
BizTalkMgmtDb. In the case of description of the BizTalk application, it is retrieved from the
nvcDescription
column of the bts_application table.
select nvcName,nvcDescription from dbo.bts_application
Once msi has been exported it’s a complied package, any changes to the msi file are not updated to the content of the file. Same way when you import an msi into BizTalk, it actually create relavant
entries into the BizTalk databases.

Updating Transport Description after Release?

I know that transport description is stored in table E07T.
I could write a direct update to change the description for
transports that are already released.
Of course, SAP doesn't advocate direct updates.
Is there another option?
Is there a SAP note that allows this?
Is there a BAPI, etc.?

This is at DB level
Change the entry in E070 table
update e070 set TRSTATUS='D' where TRKORR='REQUESTNO";
Then in SE01/SE10 its shown as modifiable
then Changet the description and Save it
and Release it.
The data/cofiles will be overwritten
this can be done on original system (i.e in which the request was created)

The problem is when I generate event (they are syslog events) the description Data is all the same for some time :)
For example if I generate 10 events fast , the description is all the same , but the data inside is different. MP should take XML element with Powershell script and it's working fine for a "slow" published events.
I don't know why only the description data is the same . I tried to modify the script to NULL the $bag variable and $xmlMessage but without any luck.
Any help will be appreciated

If I had a user named DAN_A, which is not working anymore in the company and I want to delete the user because I dont want to pay for its license. In a few years I would like to know that DAN_A was Dan Anilevich . Is there a way to archive its name?

Incorrect posting in asset accounting after legacy asset transfer

I have an issue in Asset accounting.
The depreciation key used is LINA (with a base method 0009 and Dec. bal. method 001 straight line depreciation)
My question is:
An asset was acquired 02/01/2005. It has an expected useful life of 1/11.
Under AS93.
I see the asset ***. acquisition value 205,695.00
Accu.ord. deprec - 78,784.06
The asset was transferred to SAP at 03/31/2007.
Now In aw01n I see the following:
Legacy data transfer Per 3 Ord. deprec 10,143.87
Posted Per 4 13,364.13
Posted 5 5877.00
Posted 6. 5877
Till 8th month posted 5877.
The posted values are wrong. Since it was transferred to SAP it has a useful life
of 1 year. At this rate it will go for 3 years.
What can I do to rectify this error?

The useful life has to be the Total Useful life of the asset.
Since your useful life is less than the expired usefull life the system is calculating depr. for after the end of useful life, which for base method 0009 is curbing.

With depreciation beyond the planned useful life, the depreciation percentage rate can be derived, not only from the planned useful life, but also from the actual useful life. This method produces a declining-balance effect instead of a straight-line effect (curb).
Use Base Method 0007, this does not curb.

An asset that originally had a useful life of 10 years is depreciated in year 11 by 1/11 = 9.09 %, in year 12 by 8.33 % and in year n with 100/n %.
When you use below-zero depreciation with a curb, the system determines the percentage rate, after the end of planned life, to the exact period and not to the year.</i>

Error AA662 in Asset accounting after upgrade to ECC 6

Hi,
After upgrade to ECC6 from R3 Enterprise, when we try to browse an asset, using transaction code AW01N, and go to posted values/Comparisons tab we get the following error:
SYST: You cannot change the depreciation periods
     Message no. AA662
Asset affected: 000000003983-0000
Diagnosis
    Processing terminated because the number of depreciation periods in company code 1100 has been changed. However, you cannot change the number of
    periods in your live (productive) system.
Procedure
    Change the depreciation periods back to the original value in company code 1100. The number of depreciation periods is determined by the fiscal year version and the use of half-periods. At least one of these parameters was changed.
     If you want to change your system so that you can now work with half-periods, you have to use depreciation keys with time-dependent period control in that company code.
    If you need to make general changes to the number of periods for calculating depreciation per fiscal year, you will have to consult your system administrator.
We were not getting this error in R3 enterprise. We have tried implementing sap note 1009699 but it does not resolve the issue. What we observed is, AA662 occurs if you change the number of period in the fiscal year version or the use of half-periods, after you have already posted to assets. The most common cause is a different value in field ANLB-PERFY which is the number of periods in the fiscal year. If the number entered here does not correspond to the number of posting periods of the fiscal year used, the system raises error AA662 (except for none posted areas for which ANLB-PERFY = 000 or areas with depreciation to the date for which ANLB-PERFY = 365). For us there are many assets with ANLB-PERFY=24.
Is there a way to fix this problem by some config change or data fix. If any of you have come across a similar issue or have any insights on the same, please respond back.

I could not find any solution to fix this in new depreciation calculation method. I also did not get any help from SAP or SDN. So, we decided to switch back to the old calculation method.
There are 3 ways of implementing the old calculation.
1. SAP Note 984161 : Code change at ABAP level.
2. User Level : By setting the user parameter FAA_DC_SWITCH to OLD
3. By default Config : If we make an entry in V_TABWD_VID in SM30 and create a new entry with Acct. Transaction ID to 'AMBUAFAR000000000000', It should use old calculation method.

Images overlap with text when after creating pdf: InDesign CS

Good morning,
I am using bot InDesign CS and CS2, and I am having a problem as the following:
After creating the pdf, images overlap with one another, or the text overlap behind the images so on.
First, I would like to mention the overlapped images had no problem at the previous version of the pdf. If I make a change on the page "06" for example and then recreate the pdf, a couple of images in the other pages move to the different place through the document.
So I tend to "replace" the changed pages into the previous version of the pdf instead of recreating the pdf for all pages.
Is this kind of bug or features of InDesign?
It would be very much appreciated if anyone answer me.

The PDF that was placed into ID loses all interactivity and form fields. There is no way to do what you want.

Deactivation date is not updating in Asset Master after retirement (ABAON)

Dear Experts,
Asset Capitalized on: 28.02.2009 and depreciation key used as: LINK-Str.-line from acq.value to zero without interest. Asset Retirement done with revenue (210) on 31.05.2009. We do have depreciation like (01 book depreciation, 15 Tax depreciation, 30 Local GAAP book depreciation). Below is the asset and class:
Asset name: Maruti Baleno
Asset Class: Vehicles
Here my question is after retirement done with the transaction code: ABAON u201CDeactivation onu201D date is not updating automatically in the system, however when am trying to update manually the system showing error like u201CDeactivation not possible. Dep.area 15 has acquisition values.
When am trying to do same transaction with T code: u201CABAVNu201D, the system updating the deactivation date.
Can anybody explain me why the above error happening and why the deactivation date is not updating with t code: ABAON.

In the AO74 the transaction types (Deactivate fixed asset check box also ticked)
200 Retirement without revenue
210 Retirement with revenue
When am trying to update manually below error appearing in AS02
Deactivation not possible. Dep.area 15 has acquisition values

Diagnosis
You cannot deactivate, since acquisition values are still present in depreciation area 15.
Procedure
Deactivation can only be posted by a complete retirement/transfer. The deactivation date is then set automatically.
The above asset procured in the year of 2009 and same has been retired 2009.
