EREC: "Assign Values to Interface Parameters" query

Hi All,
I am currently on ehp4, sp4. I had a requirement to change the format of the form to display the posting. Hence i took the help of the node: technical settings>User Interfaces>Administrator and Recruiter>General Settings>Assign Values to Interface Parameters. Here i user the parameter: FORM_PUBL_INT_DOVR and parameter value as the new Z form created. The new form was visible in the publication area of the job posting.
But when i try to view the form by searching the job posting (as a candidate), it is still displayed in the old format. i.e when i try to view the posting using the posting search functionality.
Can anybody please tell me what is the configuration left from my side
Note: Majority of my application is a BSP application

Please do the entry in the table V77RCF_PRM_PL for custom entries. Also check the table T77RCF_UI_PARAM whether correct form is used or not ??

You can do this in Oracle9iAS Portal 3.0.9 by the following:
1. Extend the oracle.portal.provider.v2.render.RenderManager class with your_class.
2. Override the getPageUrlFromRequest(PortletRenderRequest pr, int debugLevel) method in you renderer class. In the overridden method, modify the pageUrl value to replace the value of a parameter named "Mailbox" in the with the value returned by the newValue = pr.getUser().getName().
Do something like this:
String pageUrl = pr.getQualifiedParameter(UrlServicesUtils.PAGE_URL);
//In this string find the value of the parameter "Mailbox" and then replace it with the value of pr.getUser().getName().
3. Now modify the provider.xml by replacing the showPage class to your_class, something like:
<showPage class="oracle.portal.provider.v2.render.http.URLRenderer">
to
<showPage class="your_package.your_class.class">
4. Place your your_class.class file in your_oc4j_home\j2ee\home\applications\jpdk\jpdk\WEB-INF\classes directory.

How to parse crystal report query prompt value via url parameters

HI All,
I am creating a employee detail report in crystal report. The recordset is huge and i have created a parameter prompts in the query and thinking to parse the prompt value via url parameters. Not sure why i still could not make it works.
for example, in my query panel i have created a prompt called "pwwid"
and this is how i parse the prompt value via open document url.
OpenDocument/opendoc/openDocument.jsp?sIDType=CUID&iDocID=AV8U6HlIq4FBl_MhcBwHqGI&lsSpwwid=12345678
I read the sap documentation, this is how it parse the prompt value via url parameter. but it is not working for me and i am getting prompt to fill in the wwid whenever i run the reports.
any idea why i am not getting this works?

Not Assigned values in BW query

Hi experts,
In our BW reports "Not Assigned" ( # ) values are getting displayed with keyfigure values 0.
Is there any way to avoid this??
Can anyone help me on this?

Hi,
If you are using the web analyzer, you can include the following javascript code in the web template. As for key figures, in the query properties select "Show Zero As" value for "Zero Value Display" field and leave "Show Zero As" field blank.

Assigning value to array type variable in a loop

I have a scenario in which i am assigning value from a array type variable(x) to the invoke variable of a database adapter. The variable x is exact replica of the invoke variable.
My copy operation in assign activity looks like this-

It is inside a while loop activity.
PS *()* are square brackets
But it is erroring out at run time.
Does anybody has an alternate idea to assign value to an array type?.
i have seen that while extracting value from an array type variable it works fine

I suppose you are getting some error like "source node returns multiple elements".
In second case there is no problem because you are assigning *InputParameters[bpws:getVariableData('iterator')]* (+suppose InputParameters[1]+) to target. Here it works fine because you are fetching oonly 1 value from source and assigning it to the target.
Now in first case you are saying copy InputParameters to target[1] suppose. You know that source is an array which contains multiple index so which index field from the source will be assigned to the target.
Try your process with only 1 source value it will work but when multiple values will be there it will fail. You have to merge both the cases and it will look like

query="/ns7:InputParameters ( bpws:getVariableData('iterator') ) "/>
*<to variable="Invoke_call_XXDPI_EDI_852_PKG_InputVariable"*

And the easiest way to do this is by the transform activity as said above.

BP Transaction : Assign values to fields upon selection of BP role ?

I want to assign values to Grouping and Account Group fields in BP transaction in CRM.
Is there any BADI or Userexit to achive the same. If possible kindly explain the steps to be implemented to use the BADI.

Hi Navneeth,
There are 2 ways to approach this :
1. You can create an application transaction for the standard transaction BP. This will open the transaction in whichever role you require, default a groupng, and allow you to control some other initializaittion parameters. This is very similar the transaction variant mentioned above by Adil.
You can explore 'Application Transactions' through SPRO->Cross Application>SAP Business Partner-> Business Partner> BAsic Settings>Business Partner Roles>Define Application Transactions.
2. To default grouping , you can use BADI BUPA_NUMBER_GROUP. THe BADI will receive the list of groupings that will be shown in the dropdown .Write the implementation so as to remove unwanted groupins and keep only the number groupig you wish to default.

I have used all the steps as you mentioned in your previous reply....including checking Mulitple Selection Check Box..
Iam able to get the results when I am selecting one value..
and also I am able to handle multiple values the in the query by using IN :Parameter, but seems when we select more than one value from the parameter drop down i think the Bi Publisher is sending the values in concatenated form something ilke
ex: "'ACCOUNT','HR','SALES'" ,and when trying to display the parameters values in the output, its throwing the error as 'missing right paranthesis' ....on the whole do you have any solution which would handle
1.Single selection.
2.Multiple selection.
3.'ALL' Values.
4.Separating the concatenated string into individual strings and dispaly them on the output of the report..etc..in case of Mulitple selection.
Ex:
Concatenated String from BI Publisher:"'ACCOUNT','HR','SALES'"
Expected Output on the report:ACCOUNT,HR,SALES

Hi Mudassar,
The issue is caused by the order in which the parameters appear in the report data tab can be difference between our report execution and it failing. In other words, “Parameter2” is execution before parameter “A” due to this issue. We can adjust the parameter’s
order to solve the issue.
If “Parameter2” is parameter “A”, we cannot use that expression. Because fields cannot be used in report parameter expression, if we want to display the first value returned from a query as default value, we have to fill the “Specify values” text box with
the specific value in Default Values dialog box.

Passing multiple values to a BI query

Hi experts,
This question has probably been asked a few times, but I have an issue with passing multiple values to a BI query. Here's the scenario....
1) I have created a BI query. When I test the query in VC I can enter values 1000:1100 in the Infoobject Business Area and I see that the values are passed through OK
2) Then I created a form where Business Area is an Input Field
3) I linked the form to the BI query and assigned value @Business_area
3) A table is linked to the BI query to view my result ( I have set a distinct before my table to view the data by fiscal year period)
4) When running the VC model, the table show values for 1000 and 1100, but when I enter 1000:1100 and Submit it does not show both the business areas
There must be something I am missing and I thought it was that in my submit string (between the input form and the BI query) that I should fill in some values (instad of @Business_area). I tried to fill in 1000:1100, but then I get an error saying Invalid time 1000:1100.
I would really appreciate any help on this issue :-).

I wish to enter default values for dates onto the VC form. Ie I have a VC report to display a customer's shipped data. Ship date is a selection field/ input field on the form for the report/ output table.
At present if a user clicks submit they get all their shipped records from the beginning of time till today. How can I restrict the dates at VC level to past 3months? So if the users don't specify a ship date, they get the past 3 months data, and afterwards they can change it an retrieve all the data or past 2 years as they wish.

How do you have more than one parameterized Query to display "All"?

I am using:
Jdeveloper 9.0.5.2
Oracle Database 9.2.0.1
Toplink
Struts
I have been able to create a parameterized query to display an html read only table.
I populated a dropdown list with values from the database
and the values I select will be the parameters to my read only table.
The drop down list is on the same page as the read only table.
I have all this working but I also need to hard code an option in the Drop down to "All"
to represent all values of this parameter.
I was able to trick the jsp page using two read only tables
and displaying the one with the parameterized query when a parameter other than "All" was chosen
and then display the other only when "All" was chosen.
This does not seem the best way to do it.
What if I had more than one parameter and I wanted to show "All"
the values of one and a certain values for another.
I would then need at least 4 read only tables.
How do I accomplish this in an easier way?

but value of TotalCount variable is not coming in var_account

You can set the refreshing mode in the variable var_account and in the refreshing tab put the query as: select #TotalCount from dual.

i am trying to follow this tutorial to assign values to 2 items on a page using sql statement ,
and i am using the same sql statement the tutorial uses

after the e.deptno in the where condition .
but i am facing this error

and it does not work with two columns in the select statement under any conditions , i tried to remove the group function and the group clause ,

And how exactly is this rewrite of the sql statement resolving the OP's issue.
You are still using more than 1 column which will still result in the error message:
Wrong number of columns selected in the SQL query.
As mentioned in my earlier post APEX 4.0 (the version the OP is using) does not handle a sql statement with multiple columns for the dynamic action Set Value.
Which means the fastest and simplest solution is splitting up the dynamic action in multiple Set Value actions.
Using this plugin or upgrade to a newer apex version would also be a possibility.

How to replace # or Not assigned with blank in BEx Query Output.

Hi,
While running the query through BEx Query desginer or Anlayser, I am getting # or Not assigned where there are no values.
The requirement is to "Replace # or Not assigned with a blank" in the output.
I want to know, is there any setting in BEx query desginer where we can do this. How to do this.
Please share your inputs on this. Any inputs on this would be appreciated.
