Not Assigned values in BW query

Hi experts,
In our BW reports "Not Assigned" ( # ) values are getting displayed with keyfigure values 0.
Is there any way to avoid this??
Can anyone help me on this?

Hi,
If you are using the web analyzer, you can include the following javascript code in the web template. As for key figures, in the query properties select "Show Zero As" value for "Zero Value Display" field and leave "Show Zero As" field blank.

Here are the details
Stock values and quantities in the PCA cube of BW never show correctly at an article level due to an opening balance issue. This reduces our ability to report on stocks at moving average price, i.e. anything that actually matches the financial values in the system. The issue arises because stock at the beginning of the year (quantity and value) for any site is only shown against an article of "Not assigned." Stock movements during the year are shown against the appropriate article.(If you have a new site, the will have stock assigned against an article up until 31 December and then the 31 December values are shown against "not assigned" for the next year).

'Not assigned' Value is appearing in Report?

Hi Folks,
Let me go through the whole scenerio so that it would be easy to answer you people.
There was one IO by 0CAT_GROUP for this there was already data was available.Due to some changes in the requerement we have created one navigational atteribute to the above mentioned IO ie ZCAT_TYPE.To update the cat group based on the cat type we have written a routine in the trafer rule of the 0cat_group saying if another fields 0cat_cat is '1','2', and '3' then it is 'preventabl'
and if it is '4','5','6' then it is 'Non preventable'.If it is other than above two then it is 'Others'.
1.Our routine is working fine.As per the code but we are getting in the report another field called 'Not assigned'.
2.As per the our code we should not get 'Not assigned'?
3.As per my understanding as already 0cat-group is having values which not fallling any of the above three catagories(Preventable,Non preventable and Others) that is being called in the report as 'Not assigned'.
Please clarify my doubt?
Points wil be definitley assigned.

Hi,
Values coming from Master Data
1)Preventable
2)Non Preventable
3)Othrs
4)......(which is blank)
In 4th case you write simple routine, if BLAN then fill "NO VALUE" else pass values as it is. So you will get some value, anyway this is Master data in next time the data will come for 4th one then it will load to that field.

Then I have activated the 0customer master data and done attribute change, I have such display at BEx reporting

Rendered=false column is not returning value in simpleSearch Query Region.

I have a simpleSearchPanel with two search columns Order Number (Rendered=true, i.e Visible to User in the form) and Order Id(Rendered=False, i.e Non visible to User in the form) which are getting values from LOV. The LOV selection Order Number and Order Id are getting values and Order Number column is rendered true(visible) query able to return the values, but Order Id is not getting values because Rendered=False/Not visible Field.
Unfortunately i can't make OrderId filed as "formValue" because of simpleSearchPanel (autoCustoomizationCritirea) query region.
I appreciate your help.

its not the problem with simpleSearchPanel, it is the messageComponentLayout within simpleSearchPanel which is restricting the formValue.
just change the region style to defaultDoubleColumn and create the formValue into it.
This should solve your problem..

Field "Not Assigned" in the Bex Query

I've build a query which target is a multi-provider ( 1 Cube + 1 ODS ).
My 2 InfoProvider are joined by 0material.
In my Query fields(from the ODS) are "Not Assigned" when displaying the result ?
Someone has an idea, plz ?

'Not Assigned ' value in Report

Hi,
I have my Admin Cockpit report which shows # values for TIMESTAM values. The timestamp are for Last load, last Aggregation, Last Compresstion of the cubes.
the Data flows from Virtual Cube> MultiProvider > Query.
I can see that the relevant data is available in Virtual cube, but the Multiprovider is showing values to ZERO.
Multiprovider shows appropriate Timestamps for DSOs but not cubes.
In query the result rows are 'Always' Suppressed.
Please let me know that at which stage the data is missing. Since it has Virtual Cube it extracts data Run time, how to remove this # values then.

PS: When ever you create a multiprovider the identification of the Keyfigures and Char's is mandatory. If you didn't maintain this then you won't get data or you will get wrong data.

Not assigned values in 0ic_c03

Hello experts.
We have the 0ic_c03 cube for movements and values.
We've been ckecking the results and so far so good, until we start to use in the drilldown of the reports some characteristics such as "0strge_type" where we get too many results as "not assigend".
For example:
Value for 0strge_type 202/904 is 16 USD and
value for 0strge_type #/904 is 30,000 USD.
I can't just not consider those"#" values, because they add to the overall result. When checking in SAP there is not such a thing as "#/904"....has anyone come up whith a situation like this? This happens also with other characteristics.
How can I correct those unassigend values (if there is a way)..

i have one query on 0sd_c03, while i am executing this query i am getting 'notassingned' in some keyfigures like "width,length,grade,grade series,quality". but i have the data in datatarget.

hi,
is the report is on cube/ over multiprovider. if the report is multiprovider then chk all the fields in the identifcation is properly assigned to the infoproviders(cubes).
if u have more than one cube then this issue might happen.
any way, chk for the codntions/filters/restrcition for key figures at the report level.

Still some 'Not Assigned' in query result

Hi,
In fact, I've built a query on a multiprovider ( 1 Cube + 1 ODS )
The ODS and the Cube are joined by the material (0material).
The Cube and the ODS are well filled. Queries on each Infoprovider correctly display the results.
When I launch my query on the Multiprovider, it seems the "joined" between the 2 infoproviders doesn't work as
I've still some '#' / 'Not Assigned' value in the query result, and it should give me a result.
In fact the data from the ODS aren't retrieved, they are replaced by '#'. And I don't why ?
Please help.

Yes you are right.
I made a mistake in my explanation.
But the problem is that the characteristics from the ODS aren't displayed though the characteristic from the cube are correctly displayed.
eg.
In the ODS I've :
( Material, ZCHAR )
'ART01' '315'
'ART02' '412'
'ART03' '999'
In my Cube I've :
'ART01' '12,36' '59,00' '30 ST'
'ART02' '12,96' '89,00' '40 ST'
In the query(on the multiprovider) result I've :
( Material, ZCHAR, other values...)
'ART01' '#' 'Not assigned' '12,36' '59,00' '30 ST'

How to build an URL to filter a variable with the # (Not Assigned) as value

We need to build the URL that is calling a query with a filter value = #.
We need to query only those records that have "Not Assigned" in a particular Infoobject.

WEBI prompt based on bex variable suppress not assigned hashtag value in LOV

Hi,
is it possible to suppress the "Not assigned (#)" value from the list of values in a webi prompt based on a bex variable?
This "Not assigned" value is something BW specific, BW adds this to each characteristic automatically?!

RSRT:
It needs to work in WEBI, not only in RSRT, and the filtering of data still needs to work.
For rsrt it works, when you exclude the not assigned value in "Filter > Characteristic Restrictions" and use the bex variable in/through "Filter > Default Values", but this does not work in WEBI, because the BEX Query Data is not filtered on the in the prompt selected value.

I could manage to avoid # values in WebI prompt using BAdI implementation, here is the brief:
Problem:
WebI report prompt (which shows BEx variable) list of values shows blanks or # . Rrequirement was to avoid these blanks or #
Environment:
BW 7.3
BO 4.0
BW Cube > BEx Query > OLAP Connection > WebI report
Solution:
InfoObject Level1 in BW had # values in masterdata, this could not be deleted since it was in use with other Cubes.
Vaurable Var_Level1 displays # when pressed F4 running BEx query and in list of values in WebI report prompt.
I implemented BAdI on Level1 info object and variable Var_Level1.
Steps to implement BAdI are as in following link

Dear All,
I need to create a query on not assigned costelement hierarchy and broadcast the output through E-mail.
The query I created, displays the not assigned costelements under a separate node (filtered in query as #) but the problem is that the not assigned cost elements appear as u201C#u201D.
I want to get the details of these not assigned cost elements i.e. the query should display which cost elements are not assigned in the hierarchy. I couldnu2019t find the node REST_H (which I believe is created automatically for not assigned elements) in my hierarchy. How do I display the not assigned costelements in my query ?
One way I could think of is to compare the master data table and the hierarchy table of the InfoObject 0Costelement. The entries which are present in the master data table but not in the hierarchy tables are the unassigned costelements I am looking for.
Any standard way or a much simpler way of achieving this ?

Hi,
But I believe this setting "Suppress Unassigned nodes" is used to show or hide the unassigned node in the query. It has nothing to do with the display of # value or the actual unassigned costelements.
I want to get the "DETAILS" of the unassigned costelements which are appearing as # in the query.

But the option "Suppress 'Unassigned' Node" is used to either display not-assigned node or not.
But my requirement is to mandatorily display not-assigned node with the "DETAILS" of not-assigned costelements. I believe that by default the not-assigned costelement appears as # in the query. I want the details...i.e. which costelements are not-assigned.
