Eroor while launching businessr rule - (Essbase Error(1042017))

Hi,
I get this error message while try to launch my BR,which is due to the usage of too many functions in the ELSEIF part.

Here i try to calculate FTE for the subsquent months based on my &LE_Month.
For Eg: I have,
Q2 oct,nov,dec
Q3 jan,feb,mar
Q4 apr,may,jun
And my &LE_Month as say, "feb"
based on the above elseif,i wanna calculate FTE only for the months right to "feb"(&LE_Month)i.e.for mar,apr,may and jun
Is there any other suggestions to work it out..?

Hi,
Why you want to complicate the BR?
you can simply use @ismbr(&LE_Month:JUN) or whatever based on your months ordered in the dimension.

The rule i run is

The functions in the above rule will get replaced as below
"Depreciation Value" = "Cumulative.Asset value"/ "Assumptions_Programs"->Jul->IND_Assumptions->LOC_IND->"Assets life in months";
If i hardcode and run, i dont get this error. Please help.

The reason it works when you hard code it and why it doesn't when use UDA is simply that you should never have a multiple answers in a cross dimensional. @UDA function returns multiple answers. Even if for your case it only brings back one I believe it is tripping up the calculation. Worse if you are actually bring back multiple answers for @UDA that is definitely not going to work.
I would have to understand all your fixes above the calcultion to recommend you the best possible solution. But at least you understand why you are getting the error and what you have to fix

I am sure

this error comes,
1) If you rule take more time and the default time out time set in the configuration file
2) or its stuck up in some never ending calculation
so you have two options to eliminate this error:
1) incease the default time out time
2) reduce the running time of you businesss rule (if you can :) )
as far as ur staement is concerned
@UDA(Location,@ATTRIBUTESVAL(@NAME(@CURRMBR(location))))
@UDA(Dimname,UDANAME)
as per ur statement is @ATTRIBUTESVAL(@NAME(@CURRMBR(location))) yeilds the uda name?
is location dimension have the values which have the same name as the uda?
coz @ATTRIBUTESVAL(From a text attribute dimension)
Return the value of the level 0 attribute member that is associated with the base member being calculated.

Essbase Error (1042017): Network Error in Smart View

I try to do Ad hoc ahalysis in Smart View via Essbase provider and get Essbase Error (1042017): Network Error: The client or server timed out waiting to receive data using TCP/IP. Check network connections. Increase the olap.server.netConnectRetry and/or olap.server.netDelay values in the essbase.properties.
I've tried to increase this values in essbase.properties file in C:\Oracle\Middleware\EPMSystem11R1\products\Essbase\aps\bin directory and in Essbase Administration Services console but it has no effect. This behaviour occur only for one application. Early I has no problem with this.
How this can be fixed?

Please follow the steps below:
1) Add the following parameters to the mod_wl_ohs.conf for APS within the aps location match section:
WLIOTimeoutSecs 1800
Idempotent OFF
For Example:
<LocationMatch ^/aps/>
SetHandler weblogic-handler
WeblogicCluster vm0asazon1112:13080

Make a back up copy of the mod_wl_ohs.conf file before editing.
2) Save the mod_wl_ohs.conf
3) Restart Reporting and Analysis Framework - Web Application
4) Restart Oracle Process Manager (ohsInstancexxxxxxxxxx)

JPY is just a another currency member like USD and EUR.

There is a Macro
I pass the parameter "USD" and "EUR" in the Macro. It works good but
If i Pass the Parameter for a Macro as "JPY"
It is throwing an Error
*Detail:Cannot calculate. Essbase Error(1012004): Invalid member name [JPY]*
I know the Errors means "JPY" Member is INVALID, But the JPY is present in the Outline same as USD and EUR in the UDA "Currency".

Are you definitely sure JPY exists in the essbase application, go into eas and open the outline and check.
It may exist in planning but if it is not defined as a reporting currency then it won't exist in essbase.

Error while validating Business Rule (Error Cause: nativeGetNewTLA Rule)

Hi, I am receiving an error while validating business rules
An error occurred in: Rule:HypLive.Plan1.Product Interest
A validation error was received from the Planning server 'http://abc:8300/HyperionPlanning/servlet/HspAppManagerServlet?appname=HypLive'.
'Error:
Error Cause: nativeGetNewTLA Rule HypLive.Plan1.Product Interest'.

Are you able to validate the rule in EAS (or Calc Manager)?
Normally nativeGetNewTLA Rule is followed by out of memory errors like java.lang.OutOfMemoryError,
Increase the heap size to 1024, re start Planning and try validating it again.

Essbase Errors in the log and applications crashing - 11.1.2.0 and 11.1.2.1

We recently started installing a new DEV, CERT and Prod environment. We installed 11.1.2.0 in Dev and then 11.1.2.1 in Cert and Prod. In all three environments we are getting error messages in our essbase logs...“Essbase Error 1042017 - Increase the NetRetryCount and/or NetDelay” We have done all the usual changes to the config file by changing the netretrycount and netdelay settings, however the problem still persists. We are only working with developed applications in Dev, and there it causes those applications to stop. In Cert and Prod, only the sample apps are loaded, but again we get these errors in our logs. Since it spans multiple environments it seems that this is some thing with our environment, but not sure what that would be. Any thoughts?

Essbase Error(1200370) while executing business rule

I am getting the error - Cannot calculate. Essbase Error(1200370): Error executing formula for [Average] (line 15): attempt to cross a null member in function [@X]
on executing the following script-

"Variable" is an account dimension member. When I remove the '->"Variable"' part, the script executes, but obviously gives no result since the account member is missing.
I have read a lot of posts on this error but could not resolve this issue.
A basic view of the hierarchy is as under -

PCat1->"Variable" and Pcat2->"Variable" are the placeholders where the variable values are stored.

Is it possible that your @MEMBER function never actually returns anything. You have assumed that it works but perhaps it never works and it is only when you add the cross-dimensional operator that the issue becomes apparent.
e.g. If it is not working:
Without cross dim: "Average"= @MEMBER()* (("Sales"->"Month1+ "Sales"->"Month2" +"Sales"->"Month3")/3);
I'm not sure but perhaps the above will return something like #missing* (("Sales"->"Month1+ "Sales"->"Month2" +"Sales"->"Month3")/3)
With cross dim:
"Average"= @MEMBER()->"Variable" * (("Sales"->"Month1+ "Sales"->"Month2" +"Sales"->"Month3")/3);
Which I would assume would fail.
Do you see what I'm getting at? You could test that theory fairly easy.

you delete the whole 11.0 Folder in which the Adobe Premiere Elements Prefs file exists. Be sure to be working

Is the Owner designation in the above path named correctly?

Smart View error on Launching Business Rule

Hi ,
I am in Planning 9.3.1
After connecting to Planning Webform from Smartview, i am trying to Launch Business Rule attched to the webform
Hyperion--> Calculation Option--> Rules on form
It open the new BR Launching window with all parameter selected in the Webform Page drop down list but when i trying to change the Arguments
by clicking on the icons or if i am clicking on the Launch button getting following error
"Substitution Vars XML is malfunctioned, can't initialize dialog"
any idea or tought on this.

Symptoms
Error message in SmartView after clicking on the magnify button "Substitution Vars XML is malformed, can't initialize dialog.." is displayed.
Planning web forms with Business Rule (Runtime prompt) set to "Run on Save". When submitting data in SmartView, it will then open a separate window to allow changes to the run time prompt values.
Cause
This issue is caused by substitution variables values containing double quotes or the '&' signs.
Solution
This is a noted bug, but the following will help as a workaround to the problem:
1. Login to EAS as administrator.
2. Next navigate to the enterprise view.
3. Select the Essbase Servers.
4. Right-click on your server.
5. Select Edit.
6. Select Variables.
7. Remove double quotes and '&' signs from substitution variable value.

Error while executing the rule session

Earlier I have binded the similar schema as above but without 'fact4'.It went well and the rules were executing fine.
However when I am trying to bind a similar schema like the above one, its binding fine but when executing from the BPEL Process,its giving errors like,

Please note that I am using fact1 and fact2 only for defining the rules , I am niether using fact3 which is a simple type nor fact4 which is a complex type.
I have asserted Package.RuleRepositoryType in the definitions of the rule author.I have tried with different combinations of assertions but no one worked.

where 'BookOrderDecision' is the name of the decision service I am using in BPEL.
I dont understand why I am getting two errors for the same BPEL Process.

Hi Venkat,
Whenever you do schema changes, you need to go through the cycle of
re-importing the XML schema in the rule repository, re-create the decision
service partnerlink, re-deploy the decision service.
I suspect you have maybe imported the entire XML fact type model (with fact3 and
fact4) instead of just fact1 and fact2 (might want to check in rule author).
So even if you don't use fact3 and fact4 in decision service, they are part of the rules
datamodel.

are you running SOA Suite on a Linux server and not on your PC and just running JDeveloper on your PC?
If so try creating the repository file specifying a directory on the Linux server.
For example to:
/tmp/sample_repository
So Choose 'File' from drop down menu
Enter /tmp/sample_repository
Click on create button
This should create the file called sample_repository in /tmp on the Linux server.
Can you tell us what your environment is?

Error while activating update rule in Inventory

I was working with migration of datasource 2LIS_03_BF from 3.x to 7.0 in MM module.
Recieved an error while activating update rule 0RT_C17 2LIS_03_BF in Inventory module.
When I checked the routine ,it shows the following error.
Errror:E:The Dictionary structure or table "/BI0/PMAT_SALES" is either not active or does not exist.
I am not usre how to resolve this.
Kindly reply asap.

1. Activate the master data infoobject for 0MAT_SALES at info object level of RSA1
2. Replicate and Activate the data source once again by using the program > SE38 : RS_TRANSTRU_ACTIVATE_ALL
3. Then try to migrate you datasource and activate you update rules.

Interface class for SimpleSerial.
If you don't know what an interface is, don't worry. An interface defines the functions
that can be called by implementors of this class. Currently there are two implementors,
SimpleSerialNative, and SimpleSerialJava. There might be more in the future.
SimpleSerialNative requires the file "SimpleSerialNative.dll" to be in the same folder as your Java
project file. It's that simple.
SimpleSerialJava requires the correct installation of Sun's Javacomm communication package. It's much
more powerful, but it can be tricky for the newcomer to configure, and use.
If you have problems with one, why don't you try the other.
A VERY SIMPLE IMPLEMENTATION:

A few important things to note:
1. When you write data to the serial port, it just writes the data, whether or not the PIC chip is
ready to receive data. There's no handshaking or signaling. If you send data and the PIC chip
isn't ready for it, it will be ignored. Some PIC chips have a hardware UART which will buffer a
few bytes of data for later retrieval. But this isn't a cure-all. If the buffer fills up, it
creates an error condition which prevents further data from being read. You need to include
custom PIC code to reset the error flag.
2 In contrast to the PIC chip, the computer has a rather large hardware buffer. If the PIC chip
sends serial data to your computer when you're not around to read it, it gets stored.
3. If you make a call to readByte(), and there's no data to be read, readByte() waits until there
is data. If you want to know how much data (if any) is available, make a call to available().
4. Conversely, if you make a call to readBytes() or readString() and there's no data to be read,
readBytes() returns a byte array of zero length, and readString() returns and empty string.
5. If you want to use Sun's JavaComm package instead of this code, subsitute your calls to

Be careful not to overwhelm the PIC chip with data.
On pics without a hardware UART, the data will be ignored.
On pics with a hardware UART, overflowing will loose data AND require
the UART on the PIC to be reset. You can reset the UART in PIC code,
or manually turn the PIC off and then on.
NOTE: A byte has a value in the range of -128 to 127
NOTE: If you want to write a character, you need to cast it to a byte,
for example: simpleSerial.writeByte((char)'b');

Error while saving Reward rule version

Hi When trying to save reward rule after creaion of rule version , error while saving rule version U-00000062 001 , contact technical support. I have attached document below. Kindly advice what needs to be done.

This error is occurring in our development environment as well. Production is fine.
I had the users get out of the system last night and I tried restarting services and eventually restarting each server but nothing has cleared the error yet.
