ERP part lean WM?

hello,
we are not using currently Lean WM as this is managed outside of SAP.
But to use small part of this functionality like picking and packing and handling untit as well as Two step picking can we create a dummy warehouse to use this functionality like two step picking?
If we could what are the implications whenw e want to use only parts of Lean WM.
Thanking you

Hi Andy,
here you find the definition of LEAN WM:
http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/32/dba788517d11d4869c0000e81ddea0/frameset.htm
Basically the LEAN WM helps you to create pick lists for issues and receipts from fixed bins. The inventory is not updates at storage bin level, like in WM. For further details check the link.
For 2 Step Picking you require full WM (for Lean WM you have fixed bins).
Packing (=Handling Units) is completly independent of setting up WM.
May be you can also check the forum you will find many answers to your question...

  • IDOC synchronisity

    Hi all,
    I have this scenario: File(ftp)->XI7.0->IDOC(R3-4.6c)
When the File Adapter reads more than one file in the ftp server simultaneously,
XI creates as many IDocs as the number of files read to be transfered into R3 system. OK.
If more IDocs are sent regarding the same document, (eg: several IDocs related to a confirmation of the same Transfer Order but for different items),
when R3 processes them, often a data locking error occurs (eg: Transfer order 0000000091 currently being processed by PI1REMOTE).
I need the R3 system to execute the IDocs one by one separately (sequence not relevant).
I tried to use the "Queue Processing" parameter in the Receiver IDoc Adapter, but this option is not compatible with R3 4.6c release.
I tried to set the QoS parameter to "Exactly Once in Order" in the Sender File Adapter, but this option not solve the problem.
Do you know if some method exists in the R3 system to process a particular message type one by one?
    Do you know other solutions?
    thanks a lot
    Daniele

    hi,
in We20 in ERP make sure IDOCs are not processed immediately
but : scheduled by a bacnground job
then schedule report : RBDAPP01 to process them
you can also schedule reports from this pages
    to automatically reprocess failed IDOCs
    http://www.erpgenie.com/component/content/article/567
this way all them will be processes
nothing in XI needs to be changed only ERP part

  • Basic questions about NetWeaver

    Hi experts,
Here am I with a big headache caused by the Netweaver concept which I can hardly understand. So, I would be grateful if you could give me some hints on these questions even if they sound foolish:
    1. Is SAP-Gui an obsolete concept with Netweaver? That is, has the classical SAP-gui screen been replaced by a web site based on something like an Internet Explorer?
    2. If I have a ITS attached now to a classical R/3 to convert some screens to the internet protocol, will this ITS be unnecessary once I go to Netweaver? I understood that the Netweaver WAS incorporates something like an ITS.
    3. From my vague understanding of  WAS, I reckon this is the name of the new "Development platform" of SAP, sort of workbench, with the difference that from now on, Java will be a possible language, as well as ABAP, for development, and also other "functionalities" are part of the kit: an internet server replacing the ITS, etc. Am I on the right track to consider WAS as a new and extended workbench?
    4. All the classical R/3 modules are now part of the so-called "mySAP ERP". Right? So, let's say that mySAP ERP is the new brand which includes the old MM, PP, FI, CO, and so on.
    5. I have read some threads about the ECC, but I can't get to the real meaning. Is the portal a web development delivered by SAP with some ready functionality? or is it just a basis on which we have to actually develop the functionalities? Is mySAP ERP part of the ECC? or rather, is ECC something that is connecting to mySAP ERP behind?
    6. The easy-to-understand approach of a Development-Integration-Production platform in a classical R/3 schema, is it still valid with the Netweaver approach? I see so many elements in it (WAS, Portal, ECC, mySAP ERP, XI, etc) that I somehow get lost in this fuss and I can't see if Dev-Integr-Prod. is obsolete, and we need a hell of new systems to cope with it...
    7. Where do the xApps fit into this tricky map? is it something to develop from the new development platform (WAS)? are the xApps a sort of RFC that we can call from an external system? what is really an xApp?
Well, that's all for now. Either I get some help from you, or my head will collapse. Sorry, but I wasn't able to get help on these issues, with an easy-to-understand vocabulary...
    Thanks in advance.
    Ray

Hi Ray,  I'll take a stab at it.
<i>1. Is SAP-Gui an obsolete concept with Netweaver? That is, has the classical SAP-gui screen been replaced by a web site based on something like an Internet Explorer?</i>
Yes and No.   Currently you use SAPgui to access ECC 6.0 system, which runs on Netweaver ABAP stack, which is the latest release.  But I do believe that Project Muse may push SAPgui asside in the future.
<i>2. If I have a ITS attached now to a classical R/3 to convert some screens to the internet protocol, will this ITS be unnecessary once I go to Netweaver? I understood that the Netweaver WAS incorporates something like an ITS.</i>
I believe that is correct,  the ITS is a part of the Application Server.
<i>3. Am I on the right track to consider WAS as a new and extended workbench?</i>
WAS has been renamed to SAP Netweaver Appliation Server and it has two stacks.  The ABAP stack which you access via SAPgui and is the technlogy layer under ECC 6.0, and the java stack which runs underneath the SAP Netweaver Portal.    The NW Application Server ABAP Stack is the technology layer which includes all of the development tools and the system infrastructure.  The basic components which allow the system to run.  This is very simular to the "Basis" layer of eariler SAP versions,  but greatly enhanced.   Development done for the ABAP stack is done thru SE80 via SAPgui.  The java stack is a little different,  you do your development locally using NWDS and deploy your appliation to the java engine(stack).
<i>4. All the classical R/3 modules are now part of the so-called "mySAP ERP". Right? So, let's say that mySAP ERP is the new brand which includes the old MM, PP, FI, CO, and so on.</i>
Yes, all modules of the previous named R/3 are there.  my SAP ERP also includes other bolt-on applications.
<i>5. I have read some threads about the ECC, but I can't get to the real meaning. Is the portal a web development delivered by SAP with some ready functionality? or is it just a basis on which we have to actually develop the functionalities? Is mySAP ERP part of the ECC? or rather, is ECC something that is connecting to mySAP ERP behind?</i>
ECC 6.0 is the core component, formerly named R/3.  ECC  is just one part of the mySAP ERP package.  The Netweaver Portal is actually a bunch of java classes delievered by SAP which when deployed to your java stack allows for one point of entry to the users.  It is a role-based frontend.  You create iViews and assign them to roles and assign roles to your users.  The iViews can be running pretty much any application,  Web Dynpro ABAP, Web Dynpro Java, BSP, JSP, etc, etc.   The are SAP Delivered business packages that you can deploy that are standard applications.
<i>6. The easy-to-understand approach of a Development-Integration-Production platform in a classical R/3 schema, is it still valid with the Netweaver approach? I see so many elements in it (WAS, Portal, ECC, mySAP ERP, XI, etc) that I somehow get lost in this fuss and I can't see if Dev-Integr-Prod. is obsolete, and we need a hell of new systems to cope with it...</i>
Yes,  on the ABAP stack, you still have the TMS(Transport Management System),  the java side also as something simular, it is called the JDI,  or NWDI.(Netweaver Development Infrastucture)  and it mimics the TMS on the ABAP, sort of.
<i>7. Where do the xApps fit into this tricky map? is it something to develop from the new development platform (WAS)? are the xApps a sort of RFC that we can call from an external system? what is really an xApp?</i>
    Can't answer that one.  Sorry.
Hope this was a little helpful.

  • Vendor Confirmation via EDI

    Hi
I am analising different possibilities to implement vendor confirmation via EDI?
Which Idoc - message type is suitable for Shipping Notification from vednor?
Is Inbound delivery created after Shipp. Notif comes to ERP?
What might be scenarios related to Purchase Order Confirmations.
ERP part only is my interest.
    Thanks for hints
    Mariusz

You can use Idoc message type DESADV to get confirmations from vendor. As soon as you get vendor confirmations through EDI system coverts to into inbound delivery.
If you are looking inbound delivery then you can use vendor confirmations.

  • Ready interfaces in the XI\PI

    hello experts
does any one konw which ready interfaces are available with the XI\PI?
(what I mean, is like there are ready IDOC and RFC that are installed in the system and no need to develop them, are they ready tpz files which have inside all the DT, MT, MM, IM, etc and every thing that is relevance to this specific interface).
I know that there are ready interfaces, but I dont know which and what business service they show.
if any one know which are there, or where I can find some information on this issue, it would really help
    Thanks
    Kfir

    Hi,
    >>>(what I mean, is like there are ready IDOC and RFC that are installed in the system and no need to develop them
if you're talking about ERP part then there are many documents that show which IDOCs are avalable for which applications but I don't know ONE document that would show it all
(in most cases they are divded per module - SD/MM/FI/LE or per application: CRM, SRM, AII, etc.)
so to answer your question - the easiest way to find out is to search by module/application
and most transactions/master data have their counterparts in IDOCs/ RFC...
for MM/SD IDOC scenarios you can always refere to my book:

  • Migration to ECC and BW in one instance

    Hello,
a customer has the ERP part on 4.6c and a BW on 3.1.
Is there a standard migration path to ECC 5.0 with an internal BW on netweaver 04?
Is it possible to first upgrade the BW system on a separate instance and later migrate it into the upgraded ERP ECC 5.0 system, so that there is only one instance at the end?
    Thanks for help!
    Matthias

    Hi Magesh,
mySAP ERP 2004 is a new ERP solution from SAP.
It divided into variuos software components. Basically you can divide mySAP ERP 2004 into 3 types of components
    1) ABAP Components
    2) JAVA Components
    3) Additional Components
SAP ECC 5.0 is one of the ABAP Components. The ECC consists of the ECC application and the ABAP SAP Web Application Server 640. The plug-ins are an integral part, which are used to connect for example to SAP BW. It consists of the following S/W Components
    EA-IPPE 300PI
    EA-RETAIL 500
    EA-PS 500
    EA-HR 500
    EA-GLTRADE 500
    EA-FINSERV 500
    EA-DFPS 500
    EA-APPL 500
    SAP_APPL 500
    SAP_HR 500
    Hope this helps.

  • Modifying OBN Business Objects from ERP Common Parts

    Hi All
I've created an application in which I need to trigger OBN navigation to the SAPGUI transaction for creating Materials (MM01). We have the "ERP Common Parts 1.41" business package installed on our Portal and I was hoping to use the standard OBN business object for Material however, strangely, there is no operation for "Create".
Question: Is it a good idea to add my own "Create" operation to the standard ERP Common Parts business object? I'm worried that every time we patch or upgrade the Portal, my custom operation will be wiped out...
    Thanks!
    Glen

    Thanks The-Hung!
That was my opinion too, so I'm glad to have a someone back it up.
I still have a problem with the Material business object though. How would you suggest I should handle the problem with the missing "create" operation? Should I create a second business object (eg. "material2"?) and use the second object for material creation only - ie. only add a "create" operation? I don't want to have to rebuild the whole object in case we implement standard functionality that triggers the standard business object "material"...
The reason I'm asking these questions is that I'm an ABAP developer and it just seems unusual (and very restrictive) that I can't just enhance standard functionality without worrying that it will be deleted in an upgrade... I guess I'm hoping there are some tricks in the Java stack world that I don't know about yet.
    Cheers

  • Integration between SRM and ERP in part of Business Partners

    Hi all
Could we make integration between SRM and ERP in part of Business Partners if we use Standalone Scenario? Thanks

    Hi
Any scenario, You have EBP system as well as you said you have ERP system too. so you can do BBPGETVD and pull the vendor records. Normally standalone system may not have ERP system. In standalone Your account payable system integrated with your EBP system.
If you want to create a vendors locally in SRM  you can create local vendors via web  BBPMAININT or BP in GUI.

  • How to call business objects in BO part from a servlet in lean-webapp

    Hi Gurus,
for oci-implementation (and as it has been suggested here: http://scn.sap.com/thread/3340669) we want to implement a servlet that calls certain actions in a business object. The servlet resides inside the leanwebapp-DC. The business object is in the bo-part of our own custom module. Our problem is to find a way for the servlet to call the business logic. Our first thought was to go via the moduleAccess. However, we could not figure out how to access the module of the leanwebapp.
    Any suggestions?
    Best regards,
    Christian

    Hey Wolfgang,
thank you very much for your quick and accurate answer.
After struggling a little bit with our project setup we implemented your solution and it worked immediately.
However, we now have the problem to declare the module dependency between the leanwebapp and the bo-part of our module. The Development-and-Extension-Guide for WCEM 3.0 tells us (page 39) to do this in the metadata.xml of the calling module (which would be the leanwebapp). Unfortunately, the leanwebapp does not have a metadata.xml.
Declaring the dependency in the .dcdef of the leanwebapp-DC leads to either:
a runtime exception while calling ModuleAccess moduleAccess = wecSession.getModuleAccess("oci"); in the servlet (com.sap.wec.tc.core.modulemgmt.metadata.exceptions.ModuleRuntimeException: Module access of module 'oci' cannot be created. It is not part of the current application.) or
a runtime time exception while accessing the servlet:
Caused by: com.sap.wec.tc.core.common.init.InitializeException: Error initializing 'com.sap.wec.tc.core.modulemgmt.metadata.ModuleMetaDataDeploymentModel' com.sap.wec.tc.core.modulemgmt.metadata.exceptions.ModuleRuntimeException: The deployment unit contains multiple JAR files or folders which declare the same part/namespace combination. Module: 'oci', part: 'bo', namespace: 'xxx', JAR/Folder 1: 'D:\usr\sap\DE2\J02\j2ee\cluster\apps\xxx.com\xxx~oci~dpu\app_libraries_container\xxx.com~xxx~oci~bo~assembly.jar', JAR/Folder 2: 'D:\usr\sap\DE2\J02\j2ee\cluster\apps\xxx.com\demo-leanapp\servlet_jsp\demo\root\WEB-INF\lib\xxx.com~xxx~oci~bo~assembly.jar'
Do you have any hints on how to declare the dependeny properly?
    Best regards,
    Christian

  • Lean Order Interface document flow in ERP

    Hi experts,
As I currently do not have a system available which uses the LORD interface, I was hoping anyone could help me out on this question.
When an ECC-quotation is created from an opportunity in CRM and it is then viewed in ECC. Will the CRM opportunity be visible in the ECC document flow? And if it is, is the document flow registered in ECC as well, or retrieved from the CRM document flow tables?
    Thank you!

    Hi B. Verhoefen,
sorry for answering on such an old question, but I found it while searching for another issue.
It will be visible in the transaction history but you need at least LORD version 2. ERP document flow isn't possbile in version 1.

  • Best Practice for Plan for Every Part (PFEP) Database/Dashboard?

    Hello All-
I was wondering if anyone had experience with implementing / developing a Plan for Every Part (PFEP) Database in SAP. My company is looking to migrate its existing PFEP solution (Custom developed Excel/Access system) into SAP. If you are unfamiliar, a PFEP is a dashboard view of a part/material that provides various business groups with dedicated views to data from Material Masters, Info Records, and Vendor Master Records and combines it with historical/forecasting information. The goal is to provide a single source to all the part/material settings for a given part.
Is there a Best Practice PFEP in SAP? Or if this is something that most companies custom develop in ERP or BI?
    Thanks in advance.
    -Ron

I think you will likely get a response in SAP ERP - Logistics Materials Management (SAP MM)
additionally you might want to do some searches based on SAP Lean Inventory, perhaps Kanban. I am assuming you are not using WM or EWM either?
Where I have seen PFEP incorporated into the supply chain strategy this typically requires not inconsiderable additions to the alternate UoM in MM dropping of automatic replenishment levels (reorder level) and rethinking aspects of the MRP plan so be prepared or significant additional data management work if you haven't already started on that. I believe Ryder logistics uses PFEP and theirSAP infrstructure is managed by IBM; might be an idea to try and find a linkedin  resource from there. You may also find one of the ASUG supply chain, logistics,  MM or WM sigs a good place to also ask questions and look for answers.

  • HR strutural Authorization check in the Lean order Interface (LORD)

    Hi ,
We place Quotations , Orders in CRM 7.0 , via the Lean order Interface Screen (LORD) . So users in ECC have HR structural authorization and they seems to the checked ( for the HR# part of the Sales Team , and comming accross as partner function in the Quotations , Orders documents )
Can we avoid the HR structural Authorization check in the Lean order Interface ?

    Dear Christophe,
I do not understand the requirement...you create ERP orders via CRM interface, and you have set up authorization in ERP for the users. Why do you want to prevent the authority check when coming from CRM when it is needed ?
However please consider note 1446253 quesiton 9.
You might activate or deactivate the "current user" flag in sm59 for your ERP system.
    Hope this information helps...

  • Entrada da NFe no ERP e arquivamento do XML.

    Prezados, bom dia.
Recebimento do arquivo XML do fornecedor
    Hyalen.

Obrigado David e Henrique. As respostas ajudaram bastante.
    2- XML -> interface B2B -> armazenamento no GRC.
