Error -100000 in downloading a track

I purchased an album, and all but one track (10 of 15) will not download.  It looks as if it tries, as the bar seems to progress few a few times, as if it's trying to download multiple times, then gives an error saying the file seems to be corrupted.  I try to redownload, the same thing happens.  After reading a few other posts, I first tried disabling my antivirus (symantec), then completely uninstalled it then rebooted.  Same issue.  I haven't found any "temp" files for this, and the file is not there for this particular track.  Any further suggestions?

  • TS1424 error-100000 when downloading song

    I bought an album on pre-order in the iTunes store.  When I went to download it this morning I got every song except 1.  It gave an error, error-100000, it states, "This file seems to be corrupted.  Try redownloading".  I did and I keep getting that error.  The tech support phone number is rediculous and won't give me any information other than the website.

    Hi AlfieEdwards18,
    Thanks for visiting Apple Support Communities.

  • Error -100000 when downloading gifted songs

    So for Christmas, my uncle gifted me a bunch of songs (three albums and four songs). In one of the albums, the Dick Figures Season 1 Soundtrack, I cannot download four songs. iTunes keeps giving me error -100000. It says the file is corrupt and I should try again, blah blah blah. Well, I tried to search for solutions online, and I did everything that I found: reboot computer, delete corrupted files from iTunes folder, update iTunes, etc. etc. and the songs are still not working. Any solution to this?

  • TS1424 Error 100000 while downloading an album

    I keep getting a 100000 error while trying to download an album. 13 songs work fine, track 3 errors out every time. I have tried deleting the partially downloaded file and restarting iTunes, delete the album and downloading the whole thing. Nothing works! Any ideas? Thanks!

    I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.
    Log in to the Store. Click on "Account" in your Quick Links. When you're in your Account information screen, go down to Purchase History and click "See all".
    Find the item that is not downloading properly. If you can't see "Report a Problem" next to the entry, click the "Report a problem" button. Now click the "Report a Problem" link next to the item.
    (Not entirely sure what happens after you click that link, but fingers crossed it should be relatively straightforward.)

  • Download error -100000

    There are many discussion topics here about people having problems with certain tracks that refuse to download from the iTunes Store.  On a desktop machine, the track will download almost completely, then restart 3 times before giving up saying that the file may be corrupt and reporting error -100000.  On iOS devices, you get the "Tap to Retry" error.
    Some responses, particularly from Windows users, say that the problem lies in conflict with third party firewall software.
    Another suggestion, which applies to Mac users as well, is to delete the .tmp download files.
    Both of these suggestions were recommended to me by iTunes support over a period of several days when I was having difficulty with a single track from an album purchased from the iTunes store (Mary / The Great Impression (Deluxe Version) / Sparkadia).  Neither suggestion worked.  Nor did software updates, restarts, clearing caches, deleting preferences or anything else I tried.
    My home is entirely an Apple environment except for a Dlink ADSL modem.  So if there is a software conflict, it is more likely to be Apple v Apple or Apple v my ISP.
    In the end, after more than a week of frustration, I have found a work-around that worked first time.  I used my iPhone as a personal hotspot and connected my iMac to the internet via the phone, instead of going through my home Airport network, DSL modem and ISP.  Bingo!
    I hope this helps anyone suffering the same problem.  Good luck!

    I have the same problem. I tried downloading the song using a different computer on a different network without success, so I'm not sure your solution is general. The Apple techs I am in discussions with seem to be unaware of the scale of this problem as discussed on these pages.

    If your country's iTunes Store allows you to redownload purchased tracks, I'd delete your current copy of the track and try redownloading a fresh one.
    Otherwise, I'd report the problem to the iTunes Store.

  • I'm getting this error message: "User not registered for online use" when i'm trying to download music/ track names from a CD into ITunes on my Windows 8 PC.  I'm registered and my itunes account/ appleID are all correct and working.

    I'm getting this error message: "User not registered for online use" when i'm trying to download music/ track names from a CD into ITunes on my Windows 8 PC.  I'm registered and my itunes account/ appleID are all correct and working.

    The ""not recognized for on-line use". error is associated with the Gracenote service that iTunes uses to look up and retrieve metadata for CDs.  Some users have reported that this error occurs when trying to import from CD, subsequent to upgrading to version 12.  A number of slightly different solutions have been reported (though all of a similar nature).
    Try walking through the following steps - before starting you may have to enable hidden files and folders to be viewed - in Windows 7 / Windows Explorer select Organize > Folder and search options, then on the View tab make sure that Show hidden files, folders and drives is selected.  Without this you won't see the AppData folder in C:\Users\username\
    Exit iTunes
    In Windows Explorer, go to the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
    Delete the following files:
    CD Info.cidb
    com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist
    Restart iTunes
    Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
    If this doesn't work:
    In iTunes, select Edit > Preferences and make a note (or take a screenshot) of your preferences settings in all relevant tabs
    Exit iTunes
    In Windows Explorer, go to the folder C:\Users\username\AppData\Roaming\Apple Computer\iTunes
    Delete the following file:iTunesPrefs.xml
    Restart iTunes
    Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
    If this second procedure does work, you'll need to restore other iTunes preferences settings to those that you noted in step 1.
    If this one didn't work:
    Exit iTunes
    Check the following folders:
    C:\Users\username\AppData\Local\Apple Computer\iTunes
    C:\Users\username\AppData\LocalLow\Apple Computer\iTunes
    Delete any copies of the following files:
    CD Info.cidb
    com.apple.iTunes.Gracenote.plist
    iTunesPrefs.xml
    Restart iTunes
    Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
    Again, if this procedure does work, you'll need to restore other iTunes preferences settings to those that you noted in step 1 of the second procedure. If you're still not able to retrieve CD info:
    Exit iTunes
    In Windows, select Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features.  Find the entry for iTunes, right-click and select Repair.
    When this process has finished, restart iTunes
    Insert a CD and see if details are now correctly retrieved from Gracenote
    If none of these have worked (and almost everything I've seen suggests you should be OK by this point), you may have an issue with the installation and configuration of iTunes itself.  If you have got this far, see turingtest2's notes on Troubleshooting issues with iTunes for Windows updates for advice on how to remove and replace of all components of iTunes.

  • Trouble downloading ITunes songs; Error -100000

    Have been trying to download an album (purchased using a holiday giftcard). While some songs have downloaded successfully, the majority of downloads were interrupted and report the following error: -100000.
    Any thoughts on how to fix this? Have also sent off a note to Apple and will post if they send along anything useful.

    Install 7-Zip (free), or a free trial of WinRAR, and use one of them to extract the contents of the iTunesSetup.exe or iTunesSetup64.exe installer file, then try installing AppleApplicationSupport.msi as a standalone component. Even if it won't install you may get a more useful error message as to why not.

  • How do i report an error downloading a song from Itunes (error = -100000)

    I purchased a song from Itunes with a number of other songs, all other downloaded as usual, but this in particular restarts downloading up to three times and then gives the error = -100000, and a pop up message suggest "the file may be corrupted" and instructes me to try it later. I have tried a number of times and the result is the same. Is there a way to report the specific file to Itunes Store?

    I tried this:
    http://www.apple.com/support/itunes/contact/
    While I got genuinely concerend support, I didn't get this issue resolved. I'm noticing that more and more posts are popping up with the same error code so it may be a new issue. Good luck in getting yours fixed!

    Downloaded an album, and one song is giving me download error - stopped -100000. I've tried to restart the download a couple times, but it runs, pretends it's downloading and then gives me the error. The internet doesn't seem to know what error -100000 is. Anyone here know?
    I've downloaded other songs since the error, and this one just hangs out in the Downloads view.

  • So many errors trying to download...going insane!

    HI,
    I upgraded to itunes 7 and am having nothing but heartache. First, I was having so many problems with my external hard drive, so I disconnected it. Then, I asked itunes to download the 2nd season of Lost, and am having the worst time getting it to download. Here is a list of my problems.
    1. Itunes does not download the episodes in order.
    2. Itunes downloads for several hours, then gives me a "File seems to be corrupted" number 100008 message, and I lose any amount of the episode I have already downloaded.
    3. After a long time, it will say the network connection is lost and stop the download or will simply say the downloading "was interrupted"
    I never had these problems with the previous version of itunes and it is driving me crazy. Any suggestions? Is there a way to tell itunes to keep trying to download automatically, even after losing a network connection? Any idea about the corrupted file, or how to get it to download in order? I have spent many hours on this, and have only managed to get it to download 3 shows (out of 30). Grrr.
    Thanks in advance.

    I, too, have bought and paid for several tracks in the iTunes Store which have not downloaded - all with the same error message.
    "zero KB of 0.1 KB - stopped (err = - 100008)"
    "There was a problem downloading "track/album/artist".
    The file seems to be corrupted. To redownload the file, choose "Check for Purchases" from the Store Menu"
    This doesn't work - I have tried it numberous times - over a few weeks for some tracks. The tracks affected are;
    - The Nutcracker, Op. 71: Overture / The Nutcracker Overture - Single of the Week / St Petersburg Kirov Orchestra & Valery Gergiev
    - Patience / Patience - Single / Take That
    - Roots In Stereo / P.O.D.: Greatest Hits (The Atlantic Years) / P.O.D.
    - Walk In The Sun / Motion in the Ocean / McFly
    - Shoulda Woulda Coulda / Who I Am / Beverley Knight
    Other tracks I have downloaded have been fine.
    There are also a couple of tracks my mother paid for on her iTunes account for me that have had exactly the same thing happen to them. They are;
    - And Thou Bethlehem / The Nativity Story (Original Motion Picture Score) / Mychael Danna
    - Mind's Eye (10th Anniversary Version / Jesus Freak - 10th Anniversary Special Edition / DC Talk
    - The Nutcracker, Op. 71: Overture / The Nutcracker Overture - Single of the Week / St Petersburg Kirov Orchestra & Valery Gergiev
    All other tracks downloaded from this account too have been fine.
    Any time I check for purchased music they all pop up, then I have to clear the error - and it's irritating. Also, I have paid for them - over £5 worth over the two accounts now - and would (funnily enough) like to receive the things wot I 'ave bought.
    I sent a message to this effect to iTunes support and, eventually, received the following in reply;

    Dear luvanddaisies,
    I'm sorry to hear that some of the songs you purchased did not download because of an error 100008. I have removed the songs you listed in your e-mail and posted them back to both of your accounts. Please follow these steps to download the songs:
    1) Make sure you're using the latest version of iTunes. It can be downloaded free of charge:
    http://www.apple.com/itunes/download
    Note: Installing the latest version of iTunes will not affect your Library or any items in your account that you haven't downloaded.
    2) From the pull-down Store menu at the top, select Check for Purchases (if you're unable to upgrade and are using iTunes 6 or earlier, you'll find this option in the Advanced menu). If you can't find this option, you can also click this link to Check for Purchases:
    https://phobos.apple.com/WebObjects/MZFinance.woa/wa/checkForPurchases
    3) Enter your account name and password, then click Check.
    The missing item should begin downloading and appear in your Purchased playlist. If you receive an error message while downloading, try again after turning off any firewall or web-accelerator software that you may have installed. If the download process is interrupted for any reason, it should resume once you reopen iTunes.
    This article provides information about resuming interrupted downloads:
    http://www.info.apple.com/kbnum/n93015
    If you are still unable to download the songs because of an error 100008, keep in mind that certain types of software can affect the way a computer sends and receives information from the Internet. Here are a few examples of these types of software:
    * Firewalls
    * Web accelerators
    * Ad filters
    * Virus protection software
    If you have any of this software, and if you cannot access the iTunes Store, you will need to configure these applications to allow iTunes to connect to the internet.
    Please refer to the documentation that came with that software, and if necessary contact the software's manufacturer. You'll need to configure the software to allow these domains to send and receive data from the Internet:
    phobos.apple.com
    phobos.apple.com.edgesuite.net

    For assistance in configuring your firewall or accelerator software, you may need to contact its manufacturer or your Internet Service Provider (ISP). When contacting support representatives, it may be useful to have the following information:
    "Well Known" TCP and UDP Ports Used By Apple Software Products

    If your computer is on a network, you may also want to try using a different computer on the network or discuss the issue with the network administrator.

    If you aren't using a firewall or any of the types of software listed above that might restrict your connection to the iTunes Store, please respond to this email with the following:
    - Your complete billing address, for security purposes
    - The type of Internet connection you use (such as dial-up, cable modem, DSL, or corporate network)
    - The name of your ISP
    - Permission to reset your password so that Apple can investigate the issue

    No joy yet, I'm afraid - as my most recent missive shows;
    Only one of the tracks you have reset worked. The rest are coming up with exactly the same message. Unfortunately, the one that worked is the wrong version of the song - the one I was downloading is;
    - Patience / Patience - Single / Take That
    The one resent was
    Patience (Stripped Down) / Patience Single (Stripped) / Take That
    In answer to your other points;
    I have the most recent version of iTunes.
    My antiviral software isn't obstructing iTunes downloads, as the vast majority are fine. I did, however, try turning it off and redownloading. No joy.
    My computer is not networked.
    None of the articles helped - and I couldn't find a mention of error 100008 on the support site.
    This is true of both the accounts affected.
    I had identical problems while in Scotland over Christmas, and was using my MacBook's airport to join my mother's wireless broadband connection (probably aol, not sure).

    {blah}
    - Permission to reset your password so that Apple can investigate the issue
    ok
    Will I have the option to change it back?

    - Permission to reset your password so that Apple can investigate the issue
    Preferably not - she'll never remember another one - but if you can reset it, then change it back again, fine.
    - The type of Internet connection you use (such as dial-up, cable modem, DSL, or corporate network)
    Orange Broadband - Livebox, wireless
    - The name of your ISP
    Orange Broadband (formerly Wanadoo, formerly Freeserve)
    The tracks still left in limbo are;
    - The Nutcracker, Op.

    - The Nutcracker, Op. 71: Overture / The Nutcracker Overture - SIngle of the Week / St Petersburg Kirov Orchestra & Valery Gergiev
    Aaaaagggh.
    I know it's not a big deal in the grand scheme of things - but it is desperately irritating to keep being faced with the error of doom that is the mysterious 100008.
