Error 1055 OA_Get Max Axis Dispaly Value.vi - OUT Orbit Plot (Unfiltered).vi

Hello to Everyone,
I am trying to use OA Orbit.vi, but i having trouble, this error message is displayed: Error 1055 OA OA_Get Max Axis Dispaly Value.vi -> OA Orbit Plot (Unfiltered).vi. Is there any solution?
LabVIEW 8.5 is used.
The way how is connected, followed a LabVIEW Order Analyses Toolkit User Manual:
- signal from tachometer is input to OAT Analog Tacho Procces.vi, output Speed Profile is input for Oat Orbit Plot,OAT Convert to Even Angle Signal.vi
- signal from two proxymity probes is scaled to EU units with SVL Scale Voltage EU.vi
- scaled signal is input to OAT Convert to Even Angle Signal.vi to get Even Angle Signal
- Even Angle Signals (from two sensors) is input to Oat Orbit Plot.vi
- output Even Angle Position Info from OAT Convert to Even Angle Signal.vi is connect with Oat Orbit Plot.vi

Welcome to the NI forums!
I am not sure that I fully understand your vi based on your description, so I would kindly ask you to create a VI Snippet from the code in question, and embed it in your reply forum post as a picture. This is the recommended best practice when discussing code. Alternatively you can always attach the .vi itself to your post.
Your LabVIEW version 8.5 is fairly dated, did you make sure that you are using a compatible version of the Order Analysis toolkit? You can check the versions of your software in MAX, or by generating a MAX report.
Also, please post a screenshot of the error message you are getting. Sometimes you can also just hit Ctrl+C when you have the error message active, and that will copy the error message to the clipboard so you can post it here.

Generating the error:
"Error 1055 occurred at Property Node in ... Possible reason(s): LabVIEW object reference is invalid."
when I try to wire the IMAGE OUT output from the IMAQdx Snap vi to the value property of an externally referenced image display control.
To describe in more detail, I have a parent vi with an image display control and a child vi which has a control refnum linked to the parent vi display. In the child vi I create a value property for the refnum and try to write images to it, essentially to drive the parent display from the child vi.
The technique works elsewhere, though I can't think of what I could have done differently to generate this error?

Hi Mike - looks like I may not need to. I've been working away at this and have found the original cause and something else a bit weird...
I deleted the objects from the sub-VI that was giving me errors, then cut and pasted the objects (image display refnum and value property) from a VI that was working and this solved the problem. So you might think that the issue was just some obscure configuration item, or I'd used the wrong type in my reference or something.
I found the display reference in the parent VI was not even wired to the sub VI - duh! Error between keyboard and chair. So at least the original error message made sense, but I have no idea why it actually worked after pasting in the new objects. Are these references using some sort of auto-magic? Who knows. Safer to wire up my sub-VI's properly methinks.
Sorry for wasting forum time on this one.

Error 1055 on Graph cursors.

I am using LabView 2010, expanding on one of the example vis for data acquisition. I want to use graph cursors to allow someone to zoom in on a particular part of a graph. To do so, I have been trying to use property nodes. When a graph has more than one cursor, the property nodes seem to access only the highest indexed cursor. So, I tried to apply a property node to a graph with just one cursor. In particular, I tried to access the x-value of the cursor. When I then run the vi, I get error 1055 "Object reference is invalid". I had hoped to construct the property nodes for one cursor, then add another cursor, and attach property nodes to it. There does not seem to be a way to use property nodes to specify which cursor I am accessing. I have tried a property node with two properties: select cursor as an input, and x-value as an output. The "select cursor" property input seem to have no effect at all.
Is there an example vi for programmatically extracting information from graph cursors?

Joe,
Please take a look at my screen shot as a reference for getting the x position for a cursor on a graph object. I hope this helps.
Right clicking on the graph and hover over create then property node, cursor, cursor position then cursor x. This should create a property node that gives the position of the cursor on the graph. I understand you are trying to use multiple cursors but this will get you started.

IMAQ 'ChunkSelector' error 0xBFF69012 in MAX

I have a Point Grey Blackfly GigE camera that I am trying to access via NI MAX and then LabVIEW.
The camera itself seems to be working okay - I can get an image stream in Point Grey's native software. When I try to run it in MAX however, I get the error shown in the image below.
I am not familiar with this particular error, so I'm not sure which settings I need to play with to get the value in range.
Has anyone else seen this error before?

Sometimes, camera firmware is the problem. Sometimes, the camera XML file is the problem. Sometimes, the way that IMAQdx tries to force settings onto the camera is the problem.
Things to try:
1. Check with the manufacturer, and ask if new firmware is available for the camera. If the firmware cannot be updated by the end user, you will need to get a Returm Merchandise Authorization number, and send the camera in for the upgrade.
2. Edit the XML file that was downloaded from the camera, and remove all references to CameraAttributes::AutoFunction::AutoTargetGrayValue. Do not alter, or remove the zip file that resides in the same location as the XML. If you do, IMAQdx will request a fresh copy from the camera, and overwritew your changes. You can find the XML file in C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx\Data\XML
3. Edit the camera .icd file in C:\Users\Public\Documents\National Instruments\NI-IMAQdx\Data, and remove the reference to CameraAttributes::AutoFunction::AutoTargetGrayValue.

Error 1055

I am a project on target CRio 9074 composed by FPGA_vi, RT_vi and a Windows_vi where i read the network published variable that set in RT_vi.
I use property nodes in RT subvi to set the value in a cluster. The reference is an input to subVi that arrived by a Main_RT_vi.
Within the Labview design environment everything works well. However when running the built application I see error 1055.
Why is this error happening?

Property nodes in the RT environment are typically not suggested unless you're working with a front panel connection. Typically, when building into a RTEXE, there is some optimization to remove front panels which can lead to this particular error. I would suggest taking a look at the list of unsupported features in LabVIEW RT for further explanation and more information. In short, to avoid this error don't use property nodes if possible.

Passing data to main vi's and error 1055

Hello! I am perplexed by an error that I am getting in LV 8.2 and I would certainly appreciate any insight as to why this might be occurring. I have searched through this forum, but did not find any answers that seemed to be particular to this problem.
All I want to do is pass data from a sub vi to a main vi, while being able to see that data execute in the sub-vi (i.e. from the main vi front panel). One way that I learned to do this is to have a control refnum object on the sub-vi wired to a property node and write the data property. I then create a reference to a control in the main vi. It is the refnum wire from the sub-vi that is then wired to the reference to the control that I wish to update. This however only works for a given VI (executing from the sub-vi and/or the main) about 50% of the time. When it does not work, I get error 1055: Object reference is invalid. This error is originating from the property node in the sub-vi. I can run the sub or main vi again, without changing anything, and it will run fine. I do, however, seem to see the error less often when running from the main vi.
I have tried changing the refnum object in the sub-vi from the generic control class (default) to the exact type of control that I am passing data into in the main vi (in this case a cluster). Both variations seem to execute with and without the error consistently.

If you can make it strictly typed I would use that. Then you will know if you are wiring the correct data into the value property node. I am not sure what to say about the error. It seems to me that you are doing it the way I would. One thing you could try is to test the refnum first with a comparision "not a number/path/refnum?". This wont solve the error but maybe you can catch it before it happens. Maybe your main VI is closing the control reference befor the sub VI is finished? From your pics I don't see how this would happen.

I just re-read this part above. Are you trying to run the subVI alone? You will for sure get an error 1055 because you didn't pass in a valid reference. This valid reference is generated from the main VI (it is possible you may not get the error if the main VI was run once and still in memory because the subVI will still hold the mainVI's control refnum).
If you want to run the subVI without running from the main VI you will have to handle the invalid refnum or you will get the error.

This is an old post but I'm going to reply to it for future reference of others.
Please ignore the first reply to this thread... by default /etc/rctladm.conf doesn't exist, and you should never use it. Just put it out of your mind.
So, then... by default, a process can have no more than 256 file descriptors open at any given time. The likelyhood that you'll have a program using more than 256 files very low... but, each network socket counts as a file descriptor, therefore many network services will exceed this limit quickly. The 256 limit is stupid but it is a standard, and as such Solaris adheres to it. To look at the open file descriptors of a given process use "pfiles <pid>".
So, to change it you have several options:
1) You can tune the default threshold on the number of descriptors by specifying a new default threshold in /etc/system:
set rlim_fd_cur=1024
2) On the shell you can view your limit using 'ulimit -n' (use 'ulimit' to see all your limit thresholds). You can set it higher for this session by supplying a value, example: 'ulimit -n 1024', then start your program. You might also put this command in a startup script before starting your program.
3) The "right" way to do this is to use a Solaris RCTL (resource control) defined in /etc/project. Say you want to give the "oracle" user 8152 fd's... you can add the following to /etc/project:
user.oracle:101::::process.max-file-descriptor=(priv,8152,deny)
Now log out the Oracle user, then log back in and startup.
You can view the limit on a process like so:
prctl -n process.max-file-descriptor -i process <pid>
In that output, you may see 3 lines, one for "basic", one for "privileged" and one for "system". System is the max possible. Privileged is the limit by which you need to have special privs to raise. Basic is the limit that you as any user can increase yourself (such as using 'ulimit' as we did above). If you define a custom "priviliged" RCTL like we did above in /etc/projects it will dump the "basic" priv which is, by default, 256.
For reference, if you need to increase the threshold of a daemon that you can not restart, you can do this "hot" by using the 'prctl' program like so:
prctl -t basic -n process.max-file-descriptor -x -i process <PID>
The above just dumps the "basic" resource control (limit) from the running process. Do that, then check it a minute later with 'pfiles' to see that its now using more FD's.

Build error after upgrading from 8.2.1 to 8.5 "Error 1055 occurred at Invoke Node..."

After upgrading to 8.5, I'm getting the following error when trying to build an EXE:

* Mass-compiling all my code
* Created the project from scratch
* Enabled each panel of the "diagram disable structure" one at a time and compiled again

Ben’s advice if definitely the best place to start. Error 1055 is a very general LabVIEW error for “Object reference is invalid.” The cause is usually a bad install where important LabVIEW function aren’t placed in the right directory or aren’t installed at all.

Error while calculating the net present value

Dear experts,
Please help me in solving the following error.
I am trying to do project vaibility analysis through pre investment analysis in appropriation request, interm I'm trying to calculate the IRR for the project.
I have created the appropriation request and given all the data in that including the planed values for the project.
In Variants tab of appropriation request, preinv. analysis sub tab, i have clicked the button Calculate preinvestment analysis figures , ( I hvae not mentioned any values in that screen, its picking the plan cost from the planed values of the appropriation request) there I'm getting an error saying

If I open the message it is as follows:

Diagnosis
An error occurred during calculation of the net present value.
The yield curve for determining the net present value is not completely maintained. Possible causes are:
1. Evaluation type IM01 does not exist (table ATSYC).
2. Yield curve types 9990 (bid) and 9991 (ask) have not been created (table JBD14) for the currency of the controlling area of the appropriation request.
3. Reference interest rates have not been created for the yield curves (tables T056R and JBD15).
4. Interest rates are not maintained for the complete planning time period for the reference interest rates.
5. Under certain circumstances, the standard exchange rate types 'G' and 'B' may be inconsistent.
Procedure
Check your Customizing settings:
1. SAP supplies the evaluation types.
Remember, SAP supplies the evaluation types in client 000. You have to copy them into your working clients. If you do not have them in your system, you can create them in Customizing for the Treasury component (Treasury Management -> Market Risk Management -> Evaluations -> Define Default Settings). Create evaluation type IM01 with bid yield curve type 9990 and ask yield curve type 9991.
2. In Customizing for appropriation requests (under Planning), create a bid yield curve type 9990 and an ask yield curve type for the currency of the controlling area of the appropriation request.
3. Create at least one reference interest rate for each yield curve.
4. Maintain the reference rates, starting at the minimum fron the point at which you you have planned costs or revenue.
5. Check Customizing of the exchange rate types 'G' and 'B' in the IMG under Global Settings -> Currencies.
I have checked all the procedures of the said customization and the values are similar to that of the error message, but still I'm unable to proceed further.
I have goe through the note 160375, but did not succeed on this issue.
Can any one help me out in solving the above error and also can any one explain me the process in SAP to calculate IRR?
Is there any more customization missing or whats wrong going in that process?

I am personalizing the assignment form, where we need to restrict the JOB LOV based on Organization value.
In Forms Personalization we are creating the record group from query and attaching to Job field.
The query is,

When we use this query, we are getting the error "frm-40502: oracle error: unable to read list of values"
If i replace the bind variable with values we are not getting the error and its working fine.

Error in saving customer information. Value for contact_point_purpose must be a value defined in lookup type CONTACT_POINT_PURPOSE.

I was trying to create a text alert. I was calling following in jsp

Tried this but it is giving the below error
APP-FND-01242: Cannot read value from field PER_ASSIGNMENT_ID

Hi,
First of all: when you should use concatenation operator (||) instead of plus sign when working with strings. So, instead of
:CF_CREDIT:= :D_CARRY_F_CR+:D_HD_SUM_REP_CR; you should use
:CF_CREDIT:= :D_CARRY_F_CR||:D_HD_SUM_REP_CR; If :D_CARRY_F_CR and :D_HD_SUM_REP_CR are both numbers then consider to use to_char function before you assign value to :CF_CREDIT.
I wonder, why your CF's returns varchar's if they operates on numbers?

BEx Error - The specified value is out of range

We areBI 7.0 (SP14) & recently installed SAPGUI 7.10 (patch 7).
When I select a query (Path: Info Areas --> WMH Warehouse Management --
> Shipping KPIu2019s --> Order Turnaround in Detail) and give date range
greater than 2 weeks, then I can a critical error message and the BEx session closes.
