  • WHY DO I GETY ERROR 1311 DURING INSTALLATION OF ADOBE READER

WHY DO I GET ERROR 1311 DURING INSTALLATION OF ADOBE READER

From past report, I found following comments:
1311 error comes when during installation some resources are not accessible. It may have happened that some resources were missing or blocked on users machine. We would need MSI logs to look further into this.
One person was able to fix the problem:
After re-booting and cleaning out temp files, etc., the 3rd try resulted in success!  I do not know if this error was a fault within my system or not.
I also found a KB article on Adobe Reader 9: http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-1311-install-reader-9.html
Not sure what version/OS you have, but I hope it helps.

I have have this issue ever since I uninstalled Adobe Acobat Pro XI.  I have since reinstalled Adobe Acobat Pro XI and still have the same error.  In fact it has caused my issues -- making my computer unresponsive and when I click my browser to go back to the last page it opens a new page, I then click on that page and it disapears.  Please let me know how to retify these issues.
    Thanks,

See if anything in here helps http://helpx.adobe.com/acrobat/kb/error-1311-install-reader-9.html
Also, try downloading the offline installer from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

then download and install the Windows Installer CleanUp utility, and use it to check to see if there is any leftover itunes or QuickTime Installation configuration information on the PC. if you find any, remove it with CleanUp.

now try another itunes install. does it go through without the 1311 this time?

  • Need help to install Reader -- Error 1311

Hi. I keep getting this error when I try to download Reader (which I've done many, many different ways -- through different browsers, running as administrator, disabling antivirus -- in other words, I've tried all the normal stuff and getting pretty frustrated.
Here's what I get: Error 1311 Source file not found c:/programdata/adobe/setup/{AC76BA86-7AD7-1033-7B44-AA1000000001}/data1.cab
Anybody know how to fix this? Thanks.

You may want to try the following, which seems to overcome several installation problems:
Run this fix from Microsoft: http://support.microsoft.com/mats/Program_Install_and_Uninstall
Uninstall all traces of any versions of Reader using Add/Remove Programs
If you want to reinstall Reader, download it from http://get.adobe.com/reader/enterprise/

    Welcome to Apple Support Communities
Open the Mac App Store and go to Purchases. Do you see Final Cut Pro X listed?
If so, open a Finder window, choose Applications in the sidebar and delete Final Cut Pro X. Then, go to the Mac App Store and download Final Cut Pro X for free.
If you don't see it in Purchases, see if it's hidden, and if so, unhide it > http://support.apple.com/kb/HT4928 If it doesn't work, contact with the Mac App Store support > http://www.apple.com/support/mac/app-store/contact

I finally performed this in the right place: I found that the Manage Add-Ons

    Hi Noel,
I'm wondering whether your comment addressed to Lmono was intended for me Tmono.
You ask: "So why didn't you provide the same?"
It just didn't occur to me to do so.
My intent was to report that there was at least one other user encountering a similar problem.  It occurred to me that Adobe might be interested in determining the scale of a problem which causes one of  their best known products to fail to run quite so completely after a clean install
I also see that I misreported the OS I'm running - its Windows 8.
If there is further information I can provide which might be helpful in determining a solution, if someone could be specific about what would be helpful, then I will try to respond appropriately.
Perhaps the following from the event log:

The X230 has Intel HD 4000 graphics support built in to the processor.  Windows was pretty stubborn about refusing driver updates, but I just managed to get drivers from the Intel site to install and Photoshop is now running, so hopefully I need not try your patience any further.
In case anyone else has a similar problem and stumbles on this the way to install the driver that worked was to:
    - download the zip version of the generic driver from Intel
    - use the 'have disk' option in the windows dialog to install the driver - other paths in the UI did not work with windows refusing to install the driver.

  • Error: I cannot view any PDF files without launching Reader and accepting end User agreement.  I have already downloaded Reader.

I am getting an error message when I go to open a PDF file on my MAC that says "Before viewing PDF documents in this browser you must launch Adobe Reader and accept the end user agreement.  I have already downloaded Reader many times and followed all of the troubleshooting options.  I have matched up my software, which is the latest version and checked to make sure my internet security is enabling java script.  I don't know what to do.  Please help.

Chrome uses it's own pdf viewer. That's why you don't get the message.
If you are still having the problem on a Mac try:
Make sure your files are not hidden : http://osxdaily.com/2009/02/25/show-hidden-files-in-os-x/
Quit Safari and Adobe Reader if running.
    Go to HD/<Users>/<user name>/Library/Preferences/ delete com.adobe.Reader.plist
    Launch Adobe Reader from /Applications/
You should be prompted to accept EULA.
If on a Windows machine, do what Bernd described above. Launch Adobe Reader on it's own, not by double clicking a pdf or a link in a browser.

My computer is a windows 8.1; 64 bit operating system. I am stationed in South Korea, but that should not affect the program. Help please.

    Hi johnd83157268,
Sorry for the inconvenience that has caused to you.
Could you please let me know what changes have you made in the registry.
You might need to uninstall Adobe Reader from Control Panel and try install it again from the following link:
Adobe Reader Install for all versions
Please ensure that you are logged in as administrator and anti-virus is disabled as that might interrupt installation.
Try again and then let me know.
    Regards,
    Anubha
